PFD is an excellent crossfit gym. My girlfriend and I visited there the entire weekend of the Games in August. Coach Chris was very nice and informative, and the rest of the locals were very talkative and friendly. We felt very welcome and right at home from the start. Coach Chris focuses on the very aspect of crossfit. He makes the WODs very challenging, but doable. He also focuses majorly on overall health and mobility. You can honeslty tell that he cares for the well being of everyone that comes in to train. Whether it be regulars or drop ins like my girlfriend and me. The equipment is very well maintained and organized. Theres enough space for everyone to train and very clean bathroom facilities. If youre ever in Verona for the Games or just cause, go check out this box. Well worth it. We plan to be back again next year.
This box has a wonderful atmosphere for getting after your goals. The community is very open and helpful to members, while also allowing for a culture that pushes athletes toward success while not going overboard. I appreciate the time and attention that goes into programming. This place has it all; ease of access to classes, a robust and engaged community, and programming that works for athletes across the spectrum of of athletic ability. Ill be here for a long time!
I have been a member of PFD Crossfit for about 2 years. Since joining, I have lost about 45 lbs in total weight. Not only have I dropped a ton of weight in fat, but I have added weight in muscle. When I started, I was overweight, had very high blood pressure, and an unhealthy visceral fat level. (Bad fat around your mid section) My blood pressure is now normal, I was able to quit using blood pressure medication, and my visceral fat level is at a safe level. As cliche as it sounds, my hour long workout at PFD is my favorite hour of the day. Is it easy, no. Is it worth it...Heck yeah. 😎Coaches Chris, Andy and Greta are all wonderful. They do a great job of running each class, supporting the members, and pushing us to do our very best. They also do a wonderful job of reminding us what we have to be grateful for in life, rather than concentrating on smaller, negative things.I am thankful each day, that I found PFD. PFD is a great place to workout. The atmosphere is welcoming, the members are super friendly, and everyone is always willing to help correct you improve on or learn new skills. The coaches are so positive and are there to support you. I was very hesitant to give Crossfit a try and Im glad I did so here. I felt like I belonged to the community right away.

Ive been attending PFD CrossFit as a member still since January 2014 and I still look forward to it every day. The community is stronger than ever. Also fun, Im 5 years older and have focused on my nutrition and changed noting in attendance and I continue to hit personal records every 6 weeks getting stronger and stronger!! Come join us.2 Years Ago: The atmosphere of this gym is fun and inviting. Workouts of the Day are challenging and competitive however if you are a beginner dont be worried if you can handle it. Everything is scaled to fit your fitness level. They recently introduced Crossfit Light program focusing on nutrition and basic crossfit movements. The coaches are very good about helping new people and challenging those that have been crossfitters for awhile. The owners continue to invest in the gym and add new equipment and classes. I have been consistent since January 2014. Come join us!!
I went to PFD for a few months and was a big fan of the environment and program there. I ended up not continuing my membership due to a conflict with an existing membership elsewhere, but would recommend PFD to those looking to pick up CrossFit in the Verona area, trying to mix up their fitness routine, or looking to start working out in a group environment for the first time. I had never done CrossFit and was able to get up to speed with what i needed to know through several intro classes taught by the staff.The community at PFD was great. Classes were filled with newcomers and experienced CrossFitters. I was trying CrossFit for the first time and felt welcomed and supported. The trainers take time to understand your goals and any limitations you may have. Class sizes are usually small. They also have nutrition programs that you can add on.
Great (and friendly) group of coaches and members. Everyone is very encouraging and supportive. If youre thinking about trying CrossFit, I would recommend this studio!
For anyone looking to make a positive change in your life I highly recommend PFD CrossFit! Chris, Andy, and Brittany are great. The positivity and community theyve built there is incredible. Absolutely wonderful gym. Chris and his team do a great job at building the workouts, with the focus on long term fitness for day-to-day life. That being said, the programming is still great for pushing yourself if you so desire. Will definitely be back!
I was always a little intimidated by cross fit. However, PFD is a place of encouragement, support, and is a place where I can feel comfortable and have fun! Chris is awesome and I feel like family there!! I feel stronger and leaner than I ever have! I love it!!
I have been going to PFD Crossfit for about a month and am absolutely loving it. Coaches Chris and Andy are both really great motivators and coaches. In addition to leading an effective and challenging class, they both also do a great job of facilitating community. They make a point of making sure everyone in the class knows each other, or gets introduced to each other, which makes the time in class great, because you feel like youre in it together. I would highly recommend PFD to anyone looking for a CrossFit gym.
I was in Madison for a couple of days and had a wonderful experience immediately when I stepped into PFD CrossFit. The environment is great. Chris, the owner, was extremely welcoming along with the other coaches and athletes. Chris and Mike were very observant during the workout and made suggestions for improvement. Love PFD! Chris is fantastic - extremely knowledgeable and great at helping his members learn skills and gain confidence and strength. The workouts include mobility, activation, technique, strength, and metabolic conditioning, which means you increase your range of motion, strength, and overall fitness, all while reducing the risk of injury. PFD CrossFit is my favorite part of living in WI. The community in the gym is open to anyone and welcoming to all skill levels. I was an experienced runner with little focus on other workout regimes, but the variety and scalability of CrossFit has been a welcome change and engaging challenge. The WOD (workout of the day) is truly the best part of my day. Their FastFit classes also offer a quicker workout (30 min) and don’t require barbell experience, but they are still demanding and scalable, as you continue to build experience. Also, I signed up for their nutrition coaching, which has been life changing! The coaches are great motivators and will help you every step, whether it is setting new records lifting weights or finding the motivation to not each French fries every day of the week (as was my case, along with other terrible nutrition habits). The other members also step up in every class to encourage each other. This is a great community and I love being part of it!

I was in Madison and needed a place to get some training in. I reached out to PFD and they let me train and do my own thing during their open gym. Plenty of space, a bunch of platforms and lots of bars. PFD’s long open gym periods during the morning were great for me since it allowed me to be flexible with my schedule while I was in town.

I joined PFD CrossFit in March of 2016 and attended until early June of 2016. I only left because I relocated out of Madison. The culture there was incredulous. The coaches have a deep knowledge of fitness and health. They continually inspire, teach and motivate. I started with little knowledge of weightlifting or CrossFit in general. The coaches (all of them) worked with me 1 on 1 every time I came in for a class to teach me the exercises. They wouldnt let me progress until I had proven that I could demonstrate the motions appropriately. To me, this was one of the most important aspects of CrossFit and what makes PFD stand out. While I was there, I went from 245 lbs to 205 lbs. I also left with a solid knowledge of CrossFit and decided to continue my training after I relocated.

I recently attended an intro class at this gym. I really enjoyed the workout, and was able to meet another coach named Mike in addition to Chris. Both struck as me as good guys. The workout was definitely scaled to my capabilities...if youre reading this and youre wondering if you should try crossfit...just do it. The coaches are well trained and make it a point not to kill their new customers!

Have been training at PFD with Coach Chris for a couple of years now. Chris is very knowledgeable and has helped me with my strength training, mobility and overall posture. If I miss a day at the gym Coach Chris makes sure to text me, he not only cares about me but more importantly he values my health and wellness.PFD environment is open and welcoming. The gym is clean, equipment is taken care of and best of all the coaches and fellow gym goers are supportive and friendly.
I have known Chris for almost three years. When I met Chris I was going through a lot of health problems related to my thyroid. He motivated me to go to the gym and to take charge of my health. Over the years Chris has become my coach and my friend. He continues to motivate me and push me.Preimer Fitness has become my second home. The coaches keep me going and the community of the gym inspires me. We truly are a big family. I couldnt ask for a more loving, accepting community to be a part of.
I’ve been into fitness my entire life, but I was getting bored with going to the gym and doing the same workouts every day. Despite some of the negative stereotypes about CrossFit on the internet, I thought I’d give it try. I planned to check out multiple CrossFit gyms in the area. PFD was my first stop and I never left. After the first day I knew that this was the place for me. The coaches are great, knowledgeable, and make sure each movement is taught and performed correctly. The programs are scaled in different levels to allow people from any athletic background to complete the workouts safely and competitively. PFD’s amazing and diverse community makes it a great place to workout and meet others that want to see you succeed. 10/10 highly recommend!
PFD is awesome, new workouts everyday, equipment is all new and well taken care of. I went to four other cross fit gyms looking for one I wanted to join and what set PFD apart from other cross fit gyms is the owner Chris and great staff making your time there fun while still getting a killer workout. Also PFD is always educating on food and nutrition which I have learned so much about since Ive been there.

I originally contacted PFD with an interest in signing up for personal training because I thought it was the only thing that would fit into my schedule. Also, to be honest, I found the whole idea jumping into a Crossfit class to be pretty intimidating. They suggested I try a group class, though, and Im really glad I did.Everyone gets plenty of individual help from the very knowledgeable and personable coaches, but its the way the members support and encourage each other that kept me coming back.No matter what your fitness level, the workouts can be adapted to your abilities. Nobody cares if youre the slowest person, the weakest person, the largest person, or the oldest person in the gym. If youre there and trying you will be respected.
Really great place. I can’t say enough good things. Sad i moved away. I smashed my head off a windshield ina pretty bad car crash and Chris and the rest of the coaches helped me to recover slowly but surely in a safe way. If you live anywhere near Verona, you need to go.

Dont expect to see a change if you dont make one.Approximately 6 weeks ago, I took a leap and rejoined a fitness community. I adopted a healthier lifestyle and established sustainable habits, like making 3-4 trips to the gym during the week and cooking for myself more. PFD Crossfit provided me with the resources I needed to kickstart my weight loss goals. Through this 6 week period, not only did I lose 12 pounds, but I committed myself to being the best person I can be - physically and emotionally. Chris, Britany, and Andy are the foundation and support of the PFD family. They have brought a diverse group of individuals together; this family will push you to go beyond your limits and never settle for less than more than your best.One of the greatest feelings in the world is realizing that two weeks ago, you couldnt do what you just did. My wife and I enjoy working out at PFD Crossfit. We were skeptical at first due to the cost, but the workouts were great and we saw results quickly. Even though there are different skill levels in each class we never feel out of place as beginners.
My husband and I joined PFD a few months ago as CrossFit newbies, and we werent entirely sure what to expect. Now we wish we would have looked into it sooner. Chris runs a awesome gym, and this is the first time in a long time weve been excited to go work out! The PFD community of members is wonderful, and I love that were encouraged to work hard, but thoughtfully (i.e. not pushing old injuries, an emphasis on proper form over extra weight, etc.). Im 35 and have been reasonably athletic my whole life, but Im still learning a lot.Im following the health track there (a little less intense than performance crossfit), and love it - interesting workouts, nice people, and I always leave with an endorphin high. Highly recommend if PFD if youre considering Crossfit.

This gym was my first crossfit experience. Crossfit can be intimidating if itssomething youve never done. From the minute I walked through the doors I felt welcome, and part of the group. The coaches are very knowledgeable and kind. The people who come to the gym and attend the classes make you feel like a part of the pfd family. Beyond the environment itself I learned crossfit has so many benefits and is so rewarding when you reach your goals. Theres always something new to work on. I would recommend this place to anyone. Ive loved everything about it. :)

Ive been at PFD about a year. I love it. Coaches and people are very laid back and supportive. I have never heard a coach yell, but they still find ways to challenge and encourage you. The coaches at PFD are also very knowledgeable. Most have coached for years and all of them put technique first. The gym itself is pretty awesome and has all the equipment you need. Since Ive been at PFD, Ive increased all my max lifts, gained cardio endurance and speed, and learned a lot of new skills and lifts.I would highly recommend PFD to anyone looking to try crossfit. It doesnt matter if youve been doing it for a while or have never lifted before- PFD is great for all levels of fitness.
