This is a great place. They caring and compassionate. Its comical that one disgruntled mother thinks her daughter needs a mental health diagnosis to see a therapist. Chances are the daughter wants to see a therapist because her mother has issues.
As a fellow mental health professional in Vancouver, WA, I often refer clients to Compass Whole Health for their excellent work with couples, families, and individuals. I love that theyre in-network with most major insurances and offer a judgment-free zone for therapy.
The counselor Shauna was informed that my teenage daughter has issues with lying, manipulating, stealing, not following the rules and is on probation. Shauna continued to see my daughter after I said no then tried to Bill me a no show fee. Shauna called the Clark county sheriffs department and told the Deputy I threw my daughter and changed the locks on her. The sheriff informed the counselor that my daughter is a runaway. The counselor told the sheriff that my daughter called her. I spoke with the owner upset that 1) t Compass saw my daughter without my permission 2) its not medically necessary to see her 3) Compass didnt tell the sheriff she was in their presence 4) Didnt call the parents before contacting the police to confirm the story. I called and spoke with the owner who lied to me .She told me that Shauna told the sheriff shes with my daughter. The deputy read me verbatim the call and Shauna said that Adison had called her. The sheriff advised Shauna my daughter is a runaway, provided her with the case number and told her its probably best to call the mother and talk with her. The owner said anyone over the age of 13 can request medical care without parents permission. She fails to ignore that my daughter has no mental health diagnosis and is not to see my daughter legally.
Long story short, Compass billed for a full session but only provided a partial session. So heres what happened. I set up a first time appointment. The receptionist collected my email address and said that I would receive documentation by email. She asked me to read and sign it in advance of the appointment. Otherwise Id have to fill it out before my appointment. The email never came.So I arrived early to my appointment (30 mins early) to fill out the paperwork. The lights in the office were on but the door was locked. So I tried calling the office, twice, but nobody picked up. Finally, two minutes past my scheduled appointment time, the therapist and their patient appeared through the window and the therapist unlocked the door. I went inside and used the restroom. The therapist then handed me a stack of paperwork, a clipboard, and a pen. The therapist vaguely instructed me to read and sign the paperwork, but not all of it just some of it. I complied as best I understood. After signing the various documents I asked the therapist if I needed to complete the rest. She made some vague statement about time running out and that we should begin therapy. We began therapy. I explained I had two topics of concern to talk about. 35 minutes later the therapist concluded that therapy was over. We had only discussed one topic. I later verified that the intake session is one hour and that I was not given the allotted time. I have a hard time seeing this as anything but theft. If you charge for something but give much less than what you charged for, thats stealing. And the amazing thing is that I raised my concerns to the folks at Compass and they seemed to support the outcome. They supported the fact that they didnt give a whole session. This is so wrong.Where I think Compass went wrong here was that they collected my email address incorrectly. Its at time of collection that you need to verify that the email address that you collected is correct. Because of course if you dont, then the client will not receive the documentation package via email. If you dont verify the email then its expected that you have a receptionist on staff to help the client fill out paperwork before their appointment. If you dont do that then its expected that you allow the client to fill out the paperwork at their leisure without disrupting their appointment length. If you cant do that then you need to either 1) charge only for the therapy time received or 2) offer a make up session to make up missed therapy time. Compass didnt do any of those things. The error and responsibility falls entirely on Compasss hands. They chose NOT to do the right thing. That is exactly the kind of behavior that causes companies to lose customers and go out of business in the long run. And in the modern age its gotten harder to hide secrets about poor business practices. Word gets around fast. Compass should revise their business practices and ensure that customers are only billed for treatment that they receive.

Went to see a therapist one time there on July 27th of 2019, watched her swipe my debit card at the time of service and signed for it. Now on September 26, a whole 2 months later... They have a charge my debit card again without my permission... Very not happy
