Everything was great! It was an easy visit for me and the (new to us) cat. Everyone I encountered was friendly, helpful, with a smile. Veterinarian spent time answering all my questions, giving me good suggestions on cats care moving forward.

Dr. Hashamoto is awesome. He treats my 2 boyz (Golden Retrievers) like theyre his own. He always takes the time to explain what is best for them, whether its a diet plan, preventative health care or a needed procedure. He keeps their health a priority and only recommends what is necessary or best for them.

The receptionist was the most entitled person with the worst attitude I have ever encountered for someone in a service role. She had us wait for 15 minutes without addressing us, I was rushing as it was 20 minutes past our appointment at the point, only for her to tell us we were not in the system. I told her we had email confirmations and said I could show her them. She completely disregarded that I had proof that we had set up the appointment weeks ago. When I left, she yelled YOU’RE WELCOME aggressively at me as I left. Go somewhere else! No need to have this type of experience. The staff at Red Maple is incredibly kind. You might try there instead.

I brought a friends pup to his vet appointment at the downtown Vancouver office. Unfortunately, we were running about 10 minutes late. I called the office and they gave me the thumbs up to still come in, stating that their normal policy is to reschedule after 10 minutes of no show, as they run a tight ship. I completely understand and respect this.We showed up and tried to call to get in, but no one answered the phone for several minutes. I then was able to get through to someone on the phone to let them know we had arrived, and he informed me that our appointment would need to be rescheduled. I explained the previous conversation I had, and he proceeded to interrupt me several times in order to reiterate their late show policy. I then suggested that maybe the reason he continued to interrupt me was all the street and construction noise, but I would really appreciate it if we could pause and if he would be willing to listen to what I was trying to say. He proceeded to tell me that I didnt have to be rude and hung up the phone on our conversation.I then decided to go ahead and proceed inside the building to gather contact information for someone else. At this point, it wasnt even about the misinformation I was given about being able to get in late, but the way I was treated over the phone was so unbearably bizarre. I shared my experience with the person who let me in and asked for a manager phone number to call to share my experience. She proceeded to give me the email address of the SAME EMPLOYEE who hung up on me! I ended up calling another branch of Well Haven to get the proper phone number to call to chat with someone.It has been a long time since I have felt this embarrassed for a company on how they treated one of their customers. If this is any indication of how they treat the animals that come in, I will never be a patron of this business. Please take your pets elsewhere if you value the way they serve their customers.EDIT: After their response to this review, Id like to point out the following:1. No one from Well Haven, from the corporate office or this location has taken the time to call me back to discuss this issue, but somehow someone found the time to respond to a negative review.2. Way to take ZERO accountability for your employees actions today. Instead of actually apologizing for the poor conduct, you have tried to level the field by saying you are sorry for my interpretation of the situation, and have suggested that I could have been the cause of the issues. I would invite you to review the telephone conversations today for quality assurance so you may indeed look at how YOUR business can be improved.Bottom line: I didnt deserve to be treated poorly today.

This place started out really great but has gone downhill! Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else that has professional people who care about your pets! When the the front desk person doesnt even have any common sense and doesnt show any kind of caring attitude towards a pet then its time to take my business and $ to someone that cares!

While it was hard getting an appointment with them, once we were seen it was a wonderful experience. We were promptly let into the exam room. Our kitten was weighed and measured. And then taken to see the Vet. The Vet was forthcoming in our options for care. I plan to continue with our kitten’s care from them.

WellHaven is not my regular vet but after calling my vet as well as many other vet offices with an emergency and not being able to be seen, WellHaven was able to get my cat in within a couple of hours. So so helpful, friendly and professional with EXCELLENT care. Dr Carey is fantastic at explaining the current condition, treatment and home care as well as possible emergency hospital care. Thank you!

Vet is good when they are there to see your pet. However morning appointment are dodgy at best. Vet is constantly late for morning appointments by at least 30 minutes or more. Vet techs don’t seem to see an issue with leaving you waiting without a heads up regarding the vet being late.

I was hesitant to go to a corporate clinic but I was wrong. The team at Wellhaven - Downtown Vancouver are amazing! Even with how busy they are I feel like my kitties are their only patients when we are there. Ive seen two different vets there and both treated me like they really care about my fur babies. Im so glad I made the switch to Wellhaven.

You couldn’t. Everyone was kind, considerate and very helpful. Made the visit as painless as possible for our pet. She was part of the family! Thank you very much.

The care I received from my dog was great. They were able to get me right in, I would go to them again if need be.

I brought two of my senior dogs to this location. We were in and out under an hour. They explained everything to me, went over all charges, and made us feel valued. I definitely like this location and the staff.

It was clean and the staff were awesome and they listen to my concerns and Cynthia was very nice to check in our kids and I felt that the kids were in good hands ❤️

I came here to get my pet put down because of a sickness she had. I paid and signed forms to get her paw print before she got cremated just to find out 3 weeks later, without any notice, that somehow there was a mistake and that it didn’t get done. She was my beloved pet, and I am beyond mad about this. Very unprofessional staff who didn’t even get back to me after a week of wait time, like they told me it would take. I had to call every 4 days to see what was happening. & now they tell me it never even got done. I do not recommend going here for your pets.

I loved this clinic until last week. DR Hashimoto and staff were polite and very informative.Alas last week they recruited a new staff member that between questions had to put me on hold for 5 mins per question instead of bringing in someone with experience. To add insult to injury she covered her lack of knowledge with arrogance.. alas now despite liking the vet i can no longer bring myself to go backI requested my pets medical records as i said i wanted to now change vets. I got a prompt response but then when asked for her to put me in touch with someone that could help me terminate my animal wellness plans no feedback. Im thinking the new girl had no desire to pass that message on.

They were able to get my cat in for an appointment within the week. They called me many times and communicated throughout her entire visit (because I couldnt be in the appointment with her due to covid restrictions). They were informative and thorough. She was so calm when I picked her up that it was clear they were very good with her.

We love coming here! I’ve never had a dog be so excited and happy walking into a vet before but our girl loves seeing everyone each time we go in. I also love the package they do for puppies, saved money and ensures we have everything we need for her:)

Modifying review. I have had good experiences the two times I visited. Exam fees reasonable and now can go inside with your pet which I prefer. Diagnostic costs are above market price so perhaps get xrays and blood work quotes elsewhere. They have been more accurate in diagnostics than other vets Ive gone too and if not an emergency, they can schedule an appointment soon rather than waiting a long time like at other vet clinics.

I started going to WellHaven when I moved to Vancouver 6 months ago. I recently had to take my 17 year old cat in for a dental cleaning/surgery. In the initial meeting the Dr. Hashimoto was very open with me that there were issues that needed to be addressed, several teeth that needed to be removed and some areas of unknowns. The estimate was somewhat costly but the most important thing to me is that my cat is not in pain. A couple weeks later I took Heller the cat in for surgery. I got a call from Dr Hashimoto that day letting me know that Heller did really well and was coming out of anesthesia. To my surprise he let me know that once they got Heller under and took x-rays the situation was better than expected and the cost was about half of what was estimated. I never would have known if they just charged me for the full estimate and didnt do the procedures estimated, I would have paid. I really appreciated the honesty and good business practices, it can be hard to find. Dr Hashimoto and the WellHaven Clinic are excellent and I would highly recommend them. Heller is recovering nicely :)

This vet is amazing and they genuinely care for your pets. I am a first time puppy owner and they have guided me along the whole process of everything he needs to get done to stay healthy. When I first got him he had fleas and warms and I was having a hard time finding a vet that would take me in right away. This place saw me as quick as they can and helped treat him. The other day my pup woke up with a very irritated swollen eye with discharge. I was very concerned and called, and they saw Appa (my pup) right away. The whole staff is so nice and willing to answer any questions and just help as much as they can. I’ve been a client for almost 3 months and it’s been great!

WellHaven Pet Health does a great job with my dog. He has been fired by other vets, yet always enters WellHaven with no hesitation. They are very good about communicating and I have been very impressed with their service.

My dog was very sick and my own vet wouldnt see her. WellHaven got me in the same day and the Vet she saw was excellent. My dog is now doing better thanks to WellHaven.

Everyone here is amazing!! We bring in strays, fosters and adopted pets and they always lead us in the right direction. Thanks for always loving us and our pets!! Wouldn’t go anywhere else

The staff is always friendly and helpful. I feel well informed after every visit. Appointments were easy to book around my work schedule because of their super convenient hours. Their first year care plan is also great, it was a good deal and smoothed out the cost of the first year which is expensive if you spay/neuter and microchip.

Mack is a pretty timid pup, but Dr. Gonzalez always handles him perfectly. When we went in for a dental cleaning, we were recommended a care plan that ended up saving us money instead of having to pay for the cleaning right then and there. It was a nice surprise. Highly recommend!

I wanted to say thank you to everyone at WellHaven. When Molly suddenly was sick, WellHaven was both open and welcoming. The facility was bright and clean, and the staff were all very courteous, caring, and supportive. We were very impressed with both the doctors who saw Molly, because we could tell that, beyond their obvious expertise, they were really invested in her well-being and happiness, and in ours.

I am a first time pet-owner and several people recommended WellHaven Pet Health for me and my 2 year old rescue Mocha. My pup had kennel cough that he picked up when at the Humane Society which made our first 2 weeks of rescue a little more difficult than I had expected however WellHaven made our first visit to the vet a memorable one. Mocha was a fearful and anxious dog who took some time to adapt to life outside the pound and the staff at WellHaven, with their Fear Free approach/philosophy really helped Mocha to enjoy his first and subsequent pet visits and not associate them with pain.We are hooked on WellHaven and I look forward to our visits to the vet and so does Mocha. The vet and vet assistants spend a lot of time helping me with my questions about dog ownership, behavior questions, training technique tips etc....I cant say enough great things about this clinic!

5 stars! If you live in the downtown area, I highly recommend this place. They squeezed us in for a last minute health check up and clipped our 10 year old cats nails before closing. They are incredibly super kind.

POST A)Im new to Vancouver and needed a place to take my year and a half mini poodle for vaccinations, physical exam, and a diagnoses about some chafing and skin irritation/flaking on the snout. Overall, I have some good, some questionable thoughts on our experience.Good points of our experience:Good online database option, timely appointment (we were one of the first patients of the day, I believe), clean facility, Covid-mindful, easy to access, friendly staff, competitive pricing, and obviously a pet-enthusiast/owner aware model.Negative points in a second post.Heres where I debate on coming back. It could have been flukes, but well see. Ill give them one more future visit and then make my decision as to whether or not to come back. Details in Post B.

These ladies are angels from God. All of them are so kind and caring, it was a blessing to have found this place. They fit me in on short notice because my dogs were having problems and I was so grateful for that. Each person I dealt with here was comforting, patient and explained everything. It took me having to call 10 other veterinarians to find this facility who would see my dogs so soon. Not one of the other places even asked what the problem was; they just said sorry we don’t have any openings. The location was a little hard to find and get to because of road construction and I was unfamiliar with the area but the building had a big sign and there were some parking spots nearby. Dr. Cargen was caring, kind, compassionate and patient. She explained everything that was going on with my dogs and answered all of my questions. I am so grateful for these wonderful people and have peace of mind that they are here to help!

My husband was 12 minutes late due to the construction around their building and they refused to see my dogs and blamed him for being late. They were extremely rude. And could not be professional.

I didn’t even make it to the facility. On the way to my appointment, I knew I’d be running late with traffic going as slow as a slug. I called in to inform the front desk while my toddler was screaming in the back seat. The front desk answering service must have assumed it was a wrong dial and hung up on me. I called back in and told her she hung up on me but that I’d be a bit behind with traffic going so slow. Rather than listening at all, she corrects me telling me that it is only just past 4. I can tell time. I told her that traffic was moving very slow, and she then told me that if I was over 10 minutes late they would need to reschedule. I CANNOT control traffic nor is that easy with a toddler and a puppy.Your business needs to hire folks with empathy, please. Thank you for being the cherry on top of a bad day. I will not be utilizing your services but rather Banfield. I heard really good things about this place, but an answering gal with an attitude should not happen.

It was great. Dr. Hashimoto is thorough, explains things in detail, and I never feel like Im being up-sold. I feel he really cares about our pets.

Wellhaven took very good care of my prescious cat. They could have unnecessary sedated her for a procedure but chose not too. They were so kind to her. I would go back for services for my cats.

Great service at a great price! Everyone who helped me was extremely kind to my pet and I. Dr. Carson was really helpful and understanding. I felt that everyone at WellHaven genuinely cared about my pet and Is well-being.

I have a bunny and Dr.Hashimoto, as well as the rest of the staff, took amazing care of him!! My bunny wasnt even stressed afterwards. Its affordable but reliable and thorough care they are providing. Ill be going here for every visit even though I live in PDX. Also, if you are a rabbit owner, please go here, they are so informed about rabbits diets, health, and all that. Absolute experts!!

Very friendly service! We have had a care plan with Wellhaven for almost a year. They know me and my pet by name, are always quick to get us in a fresh and clean room prepared before we get there. Though we dont have many health problems, its nice to know that I can call with any random questions and get informative answers. Vaccines, flea repellent and routine services are included in our plan at no extra cost and they even reminded us to schedule the extra stuff like dental cleaning that we still had available before our plan renews.Overall, Im highly impressed and thoroughly satisfied with the service and cost. Its worth the money every month knowing I have peace of mind that if something were to happen to our buddy we would be taken care of (financially and health-wise). The vets and technicians are friendly and efficient with their work. Having gone to other vets in the past, WellHaven is by far the best!

First visit and because of the COVID situation I couldnt go in. Was super stressed about dropping my German Shepherd off with them and not going in with her because she is a very nervous dog. They took great care of her and communicated with me by phone the whole time. They also were able to straighten out the poorly kept (and inaccurate) records from my previous vet and make sure my dog got what she needed.

I have a business across Esther Short Park from WellHaven. We had a squirrel that was mortally hurt and was suffering/dying on the steps of our office. WellHaven offered to humanely help for no charge - even when we offered to pay. Very kind people who clearly care about animals - pets or wild. Highly recommend.

Well haven took Bozey right in and attended to him right away. The staff is friendly and professional.

Guinea pigs are difficult little animals to find vets for but when I was told they have a small animal vet I was thrilled. They treat my piggy like family and their super sweet staff makes it feel like youre visiting a friend. The vets are kind, caring and listen to your needs. During one of the treatments, they told me what the next steps would be so it wouldnt come as a shock if we had to escalate to that. Honestly, Im grateful to have such wonderful staff and clinic nearby.

Dr. Gonzalez and his team are good with kids, too! We dont have pets, but my son brought his (stuffed) class mascot into the clinic. Here is a picture of Dr. Gonzalez making sure their furry friend is doing well. Cynthia was also able to show my kids around the clinic and answer their questions. I take my birds there and they are very knowledgeable and great with them, as well as my fur baby, I could NOT be more pleased with a pet health facility, and even with this virus they have been open and there for OUR pets. AWESOME caring, place I cannot comment at this time of the inside due to the GREAT social distancing they are practicing, BUT trust if not good I will be else where and let yall know, they deserve more then 5 stars .

Horrific experience with Hashimoto who has zero bedside manner. Chaotic and unclean. With so many good veterinarians, go elsewhere. Flaky and unreliable, I would never trust my cat with them and they failed miserably to earn that.

The staff here are amazing! Everyone is super friendly and loving, and they are very comforting in tough situations. You can really see how genuinely they love animals and love what they do.

Wow, what a beautiful new facility. It is great to have a veterinary clinic in the heart of downtown Vancouver, close to everything. The office is clean, organized, and everything is brand new. The entire team goes out of their way to show they really do care for animals by making everyone feel comfortable. Plus, they take their time to help you make an informed decision about the care of your pet.

Great facility. Super cool staff. Doctors are thorough and there are a lot of capabilities in the clinic for surgery and the like. Also, free treats! If you live anywhere near downtown Vancouver, I highly recommend this place!

I can’t think of anything that would have made it better. You took us in with an urgent situation with a same day appointment. The Dr. and staff were all welcoming and kind. Dr. Valentine was quickly assessed Arwen and patiently explained the course of treatment. Arwen is doing much better and is on the mend, just like you said. We will be back and make this our regular clinic.

Ive taken my rabbits here a few times now and Dr Hashimoto & staff have been helpful, regarding both medical care and finances. Early during Covid19 staff were masked, gloved, and transfering pets at the front door. Talking through the phone theyve been friendly and detailed (even before covid). My one rabbit is very elderly and Hashimoto has been both detailed and realistic about options. Twice, vet techs have masterfully taken blood draws from the wiggly little fluffball.5 stars overall, but I will say for one visit a different vet was there and it was odd. She wanted to do accupuncture and a supplement even though theres already an extremely safe & effective NSAID med already available for rabbits (that most even enjoy the taste of!). This is what Hashimoto ended up prescribing when he followed up with me after back from his weekend.

Amazing staff. The hospital is clean, modern, has great technology and the staff couldnt be better with my dog. The location is great and my dog is always excited to go to his appointment at WellHaven! I especially appreciate the fear-free techniques the staff uses to make sure my dog isnt afraid to go to his check-ups. It is comforting to know the hospital is AAHA certified as well!

I just really want to thank Dr. Hashimoto & their team. I brought my rabbits in today & everyone was very friendly & helpful. Dr. Hashimoto is very knowledgeable & really helped me see all sides of the current situation with my rabbits. I got lots of valuable information & especially peace of mind. Its really hard to find a vet knowledgeable about rabbits, but even if there were 100, I would choose Dr. Hashimoto. Its hard in the current climate, having to speak on the phone rather in person, but he spent a long time on the phone with me, going over the ins & outs. I really appreciated that. Thanks again to everyone at Wellhaven!!

I take my puppy, Peaches, to Dr. Abel Gonzalez. I have never met a doctor that treats his pets with such care and compassion. With the Care Companion Plan, I take my puppy in every quarter to do a check-up and she loves coming in each time. Thank you Dr. G and to your amazing team!

An amazing place to take all of your pets! We have guinea pigs, cats and dogs. Its nice to know we have the option of taking them all to one place. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff also.

My 72lb Aussie/GSD mix needed a canine influenza shot before attending their Pet Camp and he squirms and writhes his way out of any type of restraint. But at WellHaven, they administered the shot within a matter of minutes, using their fear-free techniques and he was off to party with the other pups. I was absolutely thrilled with the service received and I look forward to many more pet camp visits (and so does Duke)!
