I need a consultation for a large 200k+ remodel project on a house I was trying to purchase. They required a $250 fee to cover the cost of the consultation in this scenario. It was a huge waste of money.First off, the estimate was late and past the promised date. Not a deal breaker because I still had time during feasibility window. However the estimate was 150% more than what we had talked about with no explanation. The services provided were limited to looking at the outside of the house, talking, and providing a VERY rough estimate with no custom detail whatsoever. The $250 for consult didnt actually produce anything of value. I understand that they have time invested but so did the other contractors who provided a no cost estimate. In comparison, another contractor (Renew) charged no fee, produced results on schedule, actually provided more estimate details, and was very responsive to all my follow ups. I was expecting a more thorough estimate- and for $250 I was expecting a basic rendering or at least a custom written explanation what was being estimated. Most importantly (and most frustrating), after the initial consult and late delivery of the project rough estimate, I was unable to follow up. Lots of missed calls and no more text response. If I had been a non paying customer than I would say its par for the course of soliciting contract bids but I paid money for an opinion that I couldnt get a hold of. I ended up losing the house in contract because the project was significantly over budget and I could never get a follow up in time to make a decision.I do not recommend their consultation services.
John Fazzolari & his team are Fabulous! I highly recommend them as they are honest & professional. He, his team, & his sub contractors have great work ethic & take pride in their work & relationships with the client & builder. You can’t go wrong with Fazzolari homes! There are a lot of bad builders/contractors out there (we found out the hard way) but you won’t regret hiring Fazzolari homes!
