Have been using this shop over ten years. More expensive than some but the location is handy and the owner is always around, which is nice.Had a dead battery this weekend, so I got a jump start and drove in this morning, dropped off my Jeep Patriot before work.I was charged $196.16 in labor for “diagnostics” (what is this, clicking a couple wires together to see if there’s a charge?) checking fluids and tire pressure, which were fine, and switching out the battery.Total bill (including the unavoidable taxes) was $374.88.For nearly $400, I received a new battery and a complimentary car wash. I asked the counter person, “How could this possibly be so much?” And she informed me that their hourly rate is competitive in this area, helpfully adding that all prices are going up right now...food, housing...wow. Call me naive, but does anyone really think this is a fair deal for having a battery replaced.I’m in shock and won’t be back.

The experience I’ve had with David’s auto has been fantastic. The diagnostic report was super user friendly online, everyone I spoke to regarding service to my vehicle was kind and patient, and I was able to communicate via text for everything I wanted done. Service was very quick, and they even park all vehicles in the safety of the garage at night! This was super comforting to know. I will be returning for all future service for my car, and referring others here too! Thank you!

So we just moved to Vancouver this week, and my car was shipped from Missouri and actually beat us to our new house. When we arrived and tried to start our car, the engine wouldnt start and the battery appeared dead. AAA came and told us our battery was shot and to take it to Daves.They got us in on a Monday morning, cleaned my car and ran an electrical test that showed everything was fine, and didnt charge us. Car is doing great.I am always dubious of car mechanics since I dont know anything about cars and I think they are always try to screw me, so I feel very lucky that we have a place so close to our house with people we can trust to assess our car. 10/10 service and if anything happens to my car again this is the first place we are going to go.

I was very impressed with the service they provided on my Mini Cooper. She had been sitting for over a year and they were able to breathe new life into her. They were very straight forward on what was wrong and cost. I recommend them to anyone who has a Mini in Vancouver.

I brought my vehicle to Davids auto repair to have a diagnostic done on it as something was off about the engine noise and acceleration. After the diagnostic was complete I was told the noise was due to a improperly placed air filter. A week later the check engine light came on and I called Davids back to find out find out if I brought the car back if I would need to pay another diagnostic fee. The tech asked if I knew what code the computer gave me and I said it had to do with the EGR Valve as I did not have the exact code written down. He seemed to be frustrated that I had the code ran at AutoZone and explained I would need to bring it in to have additional tests run on the car and that I would be charged. He explained he had been doing this for years and that a parts replacement was not going to fix the issue. After speaking with this male tech who clearly did not think a woman was capable of understanding how cars work or maybe just lacked the ability to explain what needed to be evaluated I do not think I will be taking my car here again. This was a very disappointing interaction after receiving pretty good customer service in the past.

My 2003 Ford Explorer lost all engine power while on the freeway and I feared the worst I had it towed to David’s auto repair for diagnostic and they found the problem and fixed it. It was a simple fix bad connection they were honest and let me know picked it up next day with no issues! Would recommend to anyone

I had a brake caliper stay rattling around due to a missing bolt. They were able to get me in fast, with a same day repair. Was something of a big deal for me as I was far from home.Reception staff was friendly, and I appreciated their use of technology.

Tire low sensor would not reset after checking pressure. Drove it to try resolve, did not go off. Dave’s Auto Repair resolved for minimal charge. They vacuumed my car too.

Jessica not only helped me recover the $200 for the parts, she provided advice on how to recoup the service charge for the repairs. She went above and beyond helping me! Turned out I only needed spark plugs and wires. Thank you Davids for having such an amazing incredible employee that doesnt let the customer down!

Been going to Davids Auto for years. Great service!! Recently had some work done on one of my SUVs that I recently purchased. I went to the gas station to gas up and couldnt get the gas cap off. Called Davids Auto and David had me come back and he got it off for me. I will continue to go to Davids Auto for all of my vehicle needs.

Ive used Dave for quite a few issues on my truck. He knows his stuff. My only issue is that he charges $138 to figure out what the problem is and doesnt put the dianostic fee toward the repair. But its a free market and i guees he can do whatever he wants.

Been here with 2 cars in 3 years, never had a problem making an appointment, staff has always been professional, kind and upfront, and prices are more than fair, will continue coming back thank you!!

The alternator on my truck went out when we were in Vancouver, visiting from Bend. Truck was towed by AAA at 2:30pm on Saturday. By 2:30pm Monday I had my truck back and was able to drive home. Davids Auto Repair communicated by text to update me on my trucks status and made everything SO EASY. I couldnt have asked for a better experience.

First, Id like to say that I am not personally affiliated with this shop in any way. So heres how reviews work. Everyone is DYING to tell everyone if one thing went wrong with their experience, but very little people take the time to write when they have had good service. Heres mine. I didnt go into this shop thinking Man, they are fix going to fix my car in 20 minutes, and its going to be so cheap Im going to jump up and down. NO. This shop is AWESOME, and a lot of people like to go there to get their work done so the shop is a bit busy at times. I have never waited any longer than any shop Ive been to, and their prices are fair. David is a good guy and he does great work. They dont try to con you into fixing every little thing they can. And Craig at the front counter is hilarious and very professional. :)Needless to say I would recommend this shop to all my friends and family. They get the job done well in a decent time and they have fair prices. I will be a returning customer for sure.

Just got my spark plugs changed here and I had a wonderful experience. The price was fair and David got it done an hour and half faster than I thought it may take. He was very kind and did his best to make me comfortable, as I didnt have a way to get home while he was working on it. He is incredibly knowledgeable and explained things very clearly. I recommend this shop to anyone with auto repair needs and I will be going back there with any car problems I encounter.

Is there a 0 star option? This is by far the worst experience I have ever had dealing with anyone on a “professional” sense. I bought a car that needed some repairs, and trust me they reminded me that it wasn’t their fault I bought a bad car, but the whole reason they are a business is to FIX cars with problems. I don’t know if it was my young age or the fact that I’m a female who doesn’t know a ton about cars, but they made sure they took advantage of me at every turn. My car stalled for the same reason on 3 separate occasions (beginning of March, beginning of April, and beginning of November) and I had it taken there those three times for the stalling issue along with a few other times for other smaller issues. On the third time it happened, I spoke with Jessica on the phone who said they “found the issue” (that’s what they told me every other time). So I asked why the other times it had been brought there they hadn’t found that issue. She insisted that I had never taken it to their shop before for that issue as if I didn’t even know what I was talking about. She also then tried to convince me that the span between April of 2017 and November of 2017 was an entire year so I should be happy that my car didn’t break down for that same problem sooner. Just to have more clarity on my side, I called AAA who told me that all 3 times it was towed was for the initial issue that i said and they said that shops they recommend should not be making it this hard on me. So my dad and I went in to the shop Saturday to pick up the car after it was fixed, and he asked if he could speak with David, the owner. Jessica was already on the defense and in a horrible mood when David walked in who wouldn’t even listen to us about anything we were saying. Once again they insisted that April-November was a year and when things got more heated David even said “I guarantee your car will break down again. It could be the alternator the next time!” The fact that I spent over $5200 there (out of my pocket as a college student) and they wouldn’t even hear us out or anything was so ridiculous. They told us to not come back. My car is still not driving good enough where I feel comfortable in it. I have never dealt with anyone as incredibly incompetent as these people. STAY AWAY! It is absolutely awful.

I highly recommend David’s Auto Repair. They are very thorough and don’t pressure you into repairing things on your car that are not really necessary. I encountered high pressure sales tactics every time I took the car to the dealer for service. They truly want to have you as a long term customer and they treat you accordingly. So glad I found them!!

I usually do my own car repairs but I had a damaged valve and decided to take it here, overall I had a great experience and my car is running just as it did before. They worked with me on options I was looking into and provided quotes when asked, sometimes they would do additional research to get a more accurate quote and I appreciate that. They took good notes while doing the repairs so I was able to read over everything that was done in the end. When they encountered troubled parts they provided pictures, which Ive never had a shop do for me. The front office staff was very friendly and kept in contact with me throughout the whole time my car was there.

If you have a BMW and need it fixed for a great price and fixed right this is the shop for you! I recently visited Davids shop twice to get some things fixed and my car was in and out of the shop in no time at all. One of my favorite things about Davids other than the great work they do is the environment and customer service from the time you drop your vehicle off until the time you pick it up. Craig who works the desk is great for some laughs and David is great when it comes to explaining in depth any issues, concerns or even good news about your car. I have to say I have been to a LOT of shops and Davids is by far the best out there! If you want great service, honest people and a vehicle that runs the way its suppose to then go to Davids!

I brought my F150 in for scheduled maintenance and wanted some specific things done. Worked with Craig at the office to get things scheduled and Craig made it easy. The mechanic found a few other things that Craig called me about and we discussed but never felt pressured to add the services. In the end they gave me some good advice, i agreed with some things that they suggested I have done and they did exactly what was agreed to including the price. I left a very satisfied customer. Craig stayed late to accommodate my work schedule when I went to pick it up which was a bonus. Ill go there again when I need work done.

I have been coming to Davids Auto Repair for just over three and a half years now. I have always received excellent customer service above and beyond what you would expect from any auto shop. Their outstanding services have kept me coming back whenever I am in need of them. They have on more than one occasion gone out of their way to make sure I walked away satisfied and problem free.I feel I got lucky finding this establishment and have recommended it to my friends and family already. Its rare when you find a place of business that takes care of you and that is why I am recommending Davids Auto Repair to you also.

It shouldnt cost $300+ to change one radiator hose, thats insane. First I was told it would be around 90 labor and I was told it would be done in an hour (they charge $95/hr which is not something they advertise). Four hours later I walked down to this place and was told that they had to order a different hose and were waiting on the part. I didnt get my car back until almost 5:30. Lets be clear: its a 20-year-old commuter car, thats it.If you have a BMW, an Audi or a late-model import and enjoy spending triple what other mechanics would charge, by all means, take your car here.

Took my Dodge sedan to them. They found a dangerous issue affecting my suspension, on top of quickly fixing my A/C. They did this all for labor costs at market rate compared to other quotes I got. My interior was a little gross as well, hadnt vacuumed the car in a year. I found when I picked the car up that they had vacuumed it, and wiped down the dash and seats. Friendly service. Will be taking my vehicles to them for future repairs.

I started taking my car into Davids Auto Repair after getting robbed by the big Ford store in Vancouver. My most recent appointment was for brake service and repair, oil change and tire rotation. The first time I went, I received, what I thought to be, great service at a great price. So when I was having issues with my car, I figured I would go there again, however, this time was a different story. After telling the guy (who was different from the first person I encountered) what was going on, he came out to look at it. He tells me to pop the hood, except he said it a very condescending, jerk manner. He said,Can you pop the hood for me? Or do you even know how to do that? WTF? Just because I am a girl?? That left a nasty, bitter taste in my mouth. I would like to go back again, but I havent been back because of him and his rude comment!!! Oh, and also because I am now unsure if I did really receive great service at a great price the first time because I was told I need to get my transmission fluid serviced less than three months after they did it!!!! So now I wonder what they did!!!

Overpriced, bad value.Everyone was super nice but this shop is just plainly a bad value. $117 for a diagnostic fee is crazy. Most shops charge $50-60 and drop it if you get work done there. Davids only reduces it if you get the work done there.I knew the alternator in my car was blown but I didnt want to worry about replacing it so I was gonna let Davids deal with it... I call and get an estimate of $800 for a battery, alternator, terminal cables and a serpentine belt with labor. $400-500 would be reasonable. $800 is crazy - insane of a price. I told the AAA tow guy and he almost spit his coffee out- what a joke!Even with the diagnostic fee accounted for Im only out a 1/4th of the money I wouldve been here and 2 hours of my time.I ended up just paying the $117 diagnostic fee and changing it out myself for 1/7th the cost the wouldve charged meThis is a crazy high diagnostic fee and I heard their competitor in the other building only has a $40 diagnostic fee.I couldve taken it to another mechanic but I just got such a bad rub from this place... that I decided to do it myself.Im the kind of person who wants a decent mechanic and dont mind paying a decent price but this place is just too expensive.Please avoid.I did like their cool high-tech system where they send pictures of your car to you while in inspection and how they detail whats wrong with it and what the mechanic finds to be an issue.

I am impressed with the service and expertise demonstrated by the folks at Davids Auto Repair. These guys go over and above to help me keep my car working. They are easy to talk to, reliable, knowledgeable, and reasonably priced. I wouldnt dream of taking my car to any other mechanic. I feel blessed to have found them.

Refuses Responsibility.I have an ignition interlock device in my vehicle due to some very bad decisions I made years ago. Davids agreed to work on my vehicle if I was able to move it when they needed it moved. I live around the corner and found no issue with that and asked them please to call me when they needed it moved. Their technician decided to move it himself, which caused my device to malfunction. I had to get the machine re-calibrated at $63 due to their negligence (plus an hour of my time). I asked twice if they wish to come to a solution (which even included me getting additional services done at their shop at a discount), which they were not interested in. The work done on my vehicle was fine - but adding another $63 on top of the $550 I paid them will have me looking elsewhere for auto services.Employees also give 5 star ratings - so don’t be fooled.

We have used Davids for about 5 years with 3 different vehicles. They have always done a good job at a fair price. I have shopped the pricing on specific components and they are not the cheapest but we dont want that, i want good work at a fair price and they deliver on that. Most importantly we recently have a huge issue with something they did, huge communications breakdown. I was expecting David to make it right and was very pleased with his offer to take care of the issue before I even asked. No one or any company is perfect but i judge them when things go wrong, and as a long history has shown, David does it right and makes it right. Long term client, and happy to stay and keep it that way.Thank you David for running your business the way it should be run.

Davids did a thorough inspection of my Volvo S80 with 120k miles and found a few items that needed attention. They emailed the inspection to me and kept the communication open as we determined the priority needs. The staff is most helpful and sent a text when the car was ready. I appreciate their skills and their professionalism.

Ive been taking my car into Davids for oil changes and all other necessary repairs for a few years now, and have received consistently great service! Very friendly and professional staff. I would only suggest that the staff ask if you have transportation if your car is going to be worked on for more than a day. They had my car for 3 days and didnt offer a car loaner and I didnt think to ask. Im a single mom and had to find other arrangements. I had to bring my car in a few days later for another repair and was offered a loaner car, while they repaired my car. They do good work and really cared that they took care of my car needs and made my experience not so stressful and did their best to keep my costs down. I would recommend them to my friends.

They were very helpful on the phone before we ever went in, even telling us what to ask about if we went somewhere else. When we did go in, they were friendly & helpful in the shop & had no problem taking the time to answer any questions we had. The work was done for hundreds under the dealer cost - & I have no doubt that if we had gone to David’s first it would have been diagnosed and done right the first time instead of the repeat visits it took at the dealers. There really should be a zero star rating option. The previous three reviews are obviously by someone affiliated with this establishment. The service at Davids is the worse that I have ever experienced. I have never been treated so horribly, or like I was so unimportant in my life. I truly cant believe that this shop is still in business. I guarantee that the good reviews are from people that know the owner personally. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!

Excellent service. They really took care of me.

Over priced and horrible communication. Took my F150 in when it failed emissions. I told them that I didnt want to spend too much on the truck as it has over 200k miles on it. They found vacuum leaks and a Ford software update. Over $600 to fix, including the diagnosis. I asked if there were other problems noticeable. I would not want to fix this if the truck needed more. Mechanic said that he test drove it and it seemed in good shape. So I agreed to do the work and wanted to include an oil change and asked if they checked the vehicle over. They said they would for a charge. That is when I found out that the brakes are bad front and rear. Needed new drums and hardware for rear brakes, but only pads and turn rotors on front. Quoted over $900 for that. Said lower ball joints on both sides needed replaced. Quoted nearly $600 for that of which almost $90 was for a 4 wheel alignment. Its not adjustable on the rear so it cant be adjusted at 4 wheels. Then I was told that the coolant has oil in it. Quoted $300 for flush and fill. Told the transmission fluid was discolored and a seal was leaking and it had an oil leak in the engine. Also quoted an outrageous amount to replace the middle brake light bulb and clear the discoloration from the headlight covers. When I said I could not afford to put much in the truck, why was I not told about the bumper to bumper check option first so I could determine if I wanted to spend the money to fix it. And when did it become OK for shops to start charging the same thing for a front wheel alignment as they do for a 4 wheel alignment. I was a shop manager years ago and we charged less for a front wheel alignment because it takes less time due to less adjustments. By the way, I could not afford the other work and have not heard from them since. Told it would be done yesterday. Stopped by last night and told they didnt have the parts and wouldnt be done till this afternoon. I guess not having the extra work done puts me in the, not important category.

I have been taking car to Davids for about 3 years. I love the fact I can count on them to them to take good of my car, and I dont have to worry about it after they have fixed it. I just cant say enough good things about them, and I tell all my friends they should be taking their cars there!

Ive had a few repairs done at Davids in the past three or so years, but thats over now. All of them were done there only because of breakdowns near their location. Each time until now, the employees have been fairly pleasant, but it was definitely overpriced each time. This time, the pleasantness was gone, yet the over-priced was still fully present. I found the owner, David, to be over-the-top smug and condescending, Will not be going back anytime soon. Be sure to check out other shops and read other reviews of this shop before considering going here.

Very by the book and not willing to work with customers. Wanted $1500 for a stuck brake caliper. Claimed all front brake components must he replaced along with a myriad of other repairs unrelated. Replaced the brakes myself for $250. Im glad they didnt fix them because they would have taken advantage of me.

Went in for break inspection and all David the owner did was chase me off to East Vancouver Automotive where they were very nice and pleasant to work with. Talking trash about another business does not make you look professional and thats all I got at Davids.

Vehicle failed emissions test, took it in to Davids Auto Repair and got it fixed. Passed emissions test after no problem. Staff was very friendly and answered my questions.

Excellent and timely service. I had a major leak in my car and they not only fixed it, but did everything they could to clean and dry the inside as well.

I would give negative stars if it was an option. The service was horrible, and overpriced. Ive never been treated so rudely for a service I paid for. After the diagnostics I was told that it would be an outrageous amount to have my driver side window repaired. They claim that they left my window in the condition that it was brought in but they in fact made it worse. I would not recommend this place for any reason.

Ive had my car and my girlfriends car serviced at Davids before. Both times we were satisfied with the service and felt we trusted the mechanics.I drive an older vehicle. A 92 Honda Accord. During the recent cold snap we had my car was having trouble starting when cold and one day I was unable to start the vehicle. I had the vehicle towed. The tow truck driver also tried starting the car but could not.After having my car for over 24 hours, I finally heard from Davids. They were unable to duplicate the no start issue. I understood this as this was sometimes an intermittent problem and the car sat in the shop overnight which Im sure was cold but not in the 20s like outside temps were. They did, however, find a few things that did need to be fixed, such as a leaky distributor seal an O2 sensor that was causing the fuel to run rich. There was another thing too that I cant quite remember that was small. The quote was upward of 600 dollars. I spoke to David himself, and while he took time to make sure I understood the repairs, he could not guarantee this would address the no start issue.I also have a friend that lives out in Beaverton that is a certified Honda tech of 10+ years. I had been talking to him during my issues and he kept thinking it was a battery issue even though I had had it tested and it was in great condition. I ended up declining the work at the time and picked my car up from Davids.I took my car out to my friend and after popping the hood he noticed there was a poor connection on the positive battery terminal. It was noticeably loose. My friend cleaned the battery posts and secured the connection. I havent had a no start problem since. The car starts perfectly every time.The whole thing that frustrated me is at no point did anyone over the phone suggest it could be a poor battery connection that was causing the no start issue. The diagnosis report I received when I picked up the car from Davids even suggested I replace the positive battery cable. Why was this NEVER mentioned to me? Why would they give the car back to a customer with a very loose battery connection (I drove straight from Davids to my mechanic friend in Beaverton).I dont think they are bad guys over at Davids as there are a few issues that need to be addressed on my engine, and David did say the repair may not solve the start issue. I perceive the prices to be fair, too. What was wrong with my car was a very simple, mechanics 101 fix. I should have been able to figure that out myself. Thats why Im giving Davids 3 stars and will probably not return for car repairs.

David an Craig are a great bunch, they are honest and fare. I would recommend that every one take there car in to davids i have never had better services since i been there. Wish more companys were as good as these guys. plus they were faster at getting the problems fixed and done then any other place ive ever been too. So hands down David is the best out there dont go any where els.

Worst place EVER they charge to fix your car but then dont even fix it and cant take responsibility for not fixing it. Listen if you want to give a business 6,000 to do nothing this is the place for you

Asked for an AC diagnostic...$107 an hour and no guestimate on how long they would be for a diagnostic. Meanwhile East Vancouver Automotive in the same parking lot: 40 bucks.

No one likes spending a lot of money for auto repair, like going to the dentist, you dont want to but you need to.Al set me up and when the repair looked like it was going to be longer than what he promised they paid for a rental car for the day.David checks all the repairs and makes sure that they are done to his expectation.
