Instructors are very professional, positive and patient. My kid loves going to his classes! Definitely recommend this place.

My boys just started last month and they love it! The instructors and staff are amazing! Not only are they learning martial arts, but they are learning respect and so much more! My boys are in the same class, they are different ages and learning at different paces, but still enjoying the same class. My oldest struggles with being bullied, the lessons in class teaching them it is ok to be different and keep doing what makes you happy really helped my oldest! Thank you for the amazing program! You guys are awesome!

Our son attends the Aim High classes, the monthly themes are great lessons. The instructors at Farrells Martial Arts have made him excited to be there and come back. The respect he is shown has made me teary eyed a couple of times. The instructors are able to capture his attention for 45 minutes at a time which is an increase of class time for him. What the instructors teach can be applied to any situation in his life. The atomsphere is nothing like where he spent his previous 2 years learning Taewkondo. Farrells is clean, they sanitize the mats after each class. Other children in class are respectful. I am thankful we made a change, this program is more than just a Taekwondo class.

Cannot say enough good things about Farrells Martial Arts. Started it with my son 7 years ago, we are both black belts now, and have loved every minute of it! This has been life-changing for both of us, and the best part is I get to do it with him. He started when he was 4, now a black belt at 11 and we love to train together and be in class together. I know my health would be much worse if I had not started and stuck with taekwondo, and I am truly grateful to all the instructors for their guidance and help. I started my Track to Black belt 15 months ago. I will be testing for my blue level belt this month. I have enjoyed the professionalism and skill of the Master teachers. Never have I felt out of place as a 50+ mother of 3. Training with young people as well as Black belts has kept me interested and challenged. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a practical and useful exercise. I know I can use these skills to defend myself if I found myself on a compromised situation.

I have been going to Farrell’s martial arts for 5 years now and I’ve loved it. My oldest son started out in the Little Dragons (preschool) program as a new 4-year old. He is now 4 1/2, and is half-way through the program. He loves it! The TKD (taekwondo) programs at Farrells provide professional instruction by very skilled and educated instructors, and they are passionate about what they do (and it shows)! They love my son well, praise him, support, and encourage him, but also continue to push him, challenge him, and provide healthy, positive perspectives on life as a whole! Farrells has taught my son respect, self-control, to be self-disciplined, and to always have a positive attitude and mindset, as well as how to defend himself. Our sons started at Farrell’s USMA when they were 5 & 7; we used it initially to boost confidence and increase physical skills. Soon after, I joined, then my wife. Seventeen years later, we are a black belt family, and love the Farrell’s experience so much that both my wife and I also participate in the F.I.T. Program, where she is an instructor. Both boys enjoyed their black belt journeys (one is a fourth dan) and look back on the program fondly.

My 9-year old son has been in Farrell’s taekwondo program for more than 2 years now. He really likes it. The instructors are very nice and professional. They taught him both physical and life skills. My son learned to be confident, respectful, and self- disciplined etc. They moved from waukee location to urbandale location recently. Excellent program! Highly recommended!

I joined Farrells Martial Arts in November 2002 after moving to Des Moines from Kansas City. I had studied other martial arts in Seattle, Boston, and Denver (particularly Shorin Ryu karate where I earned a black belt in 1991).
