Amber and her entire team are AMAZING!!! I saw her after having a terrible experience with extensions at another salon. My previous stylist had recommended the wrong type of extensions for my hair which turned into a disaster. I went to see Amber and she recommended sew-in extensions and I am so glad she did! I’ve had several different types of extensions and the sew in she did is hands down my favorite!! I’ve had them in about 3 months now. The hair quality is great, the install is easy, they aren’t heavy and don’t pull my hair in any way, they are very low maintenance and don’t have restrictions on hot tools or hair products that I can use. They are just all around amazing!!

I have known Amber at Shear Envy for several years. She has never delivered anything but stellar service. A few months ago, she installed extensions for me. This was an exciting moment, as I had lost my hair due to cancer and was eagerly anticipating having a full head of hair again. Amber was patient and compassionate, staying late to make sure the results were exactly what I wanted. She takes the needs of her clients seriously and goes the extra mile to meet them. Ive been using Amber @ Shear Envy Salon for probably 18 months or more. Shes( in my opinion) the best at hair color. You can tell this is her passion! Its not just a job. I am a senior at Mississippi State prepping for my last formal and semi formal this weekend. I had gotten spray tans in previous years from this location and thought they could provide the same level of service. I was incorrect in this assumption.My appointment was at 1:15. This owner was a little late, but I had been told to expect that since she had left a meeting. She took less than 10 minutes to spray me down. I walked out the door at 1:33.Before she started, I talked about a previous tan from a sorority sister and how she had an olive tint in her spray which I loved and how I did not want to be splotchy. She did not ask how dark I wanted to be but started spraying me saying I would not be orange or black. I told her I wanted to be dark considering it had to last through the weekend.I had to be back in Starkville to pick up my sorority wrist band and noticed how awfully blotchy I was 🤮 and had pictures taken immediately. I called and complained. They told me that I could come back, which would be over a two hour round trip. The owner had the audacity to tell me it looked fine to her. 😡So if you are looking for a spray tan, I would highly suggest somewhere else considering she does spray tans “regularly” and has never had any complaints🤥 (even though on google reviews Linda Huffman and Cassie Chambers had complained).Do not worry, my sisters will fix my tan before my formal and semi. I have really dark brown hair and its always been hard for me to go lighter. I showed Amber two pics, one for color and one for cut. She gave me exactly what I wanted!! She explained that she could make me blonde if I wanted it, but it would take a series of session to keep my hair healthy. I love that her first priority is the health of my hair! Ambers awesome and she also has an awesome staff! Theyve done my daughters hair for different events (pageants and proms). They always listen to what they want and dont stop until my girls are happy! I highly recommend the girls at Shear Envy!

170$ color and cut...went in for color and shorter cut, left with all color cut out and hair far shorter than photos shown to you. If you become bored and disconnect because one requests something different than what you had in mind, don’t just start chopping!In addition I was charged 10$ more for a cut... 3 people before me pd 30$ for cut and I was charged 40$ when asked about the price I was told, well it’s 30$ if we just cut your hair straight across?!?! Really you did NOT cut the3 before me with a straight across cut.Otherwise the 3 stars: stylist nice, place decor very modern

Amber is hands down the absolute best!! I trust her with my life when it comes to color. I started coming to her and my hair was very brittle/almost orange. My hair is sooo healthy and bright now. She uses all of the vegan/cruelty free products which play a big role in how far we’ve come! Everyone in the salon works as a team to get everyone taken care of in a timely but attentive manner! Victoria and Makayla have shampooed and styled my hair also and they always do an amazing job!! I would trust all of these girls! I went here for a bridal party hair and make-up appointment. The ladies in the shop were fun and nice, but the make-up was awful for me. Im 42 and have laugh lines around my eyes. The makeup was so CAKED around my eyes that I looked much older than usual. Instead of making any changes or suggestions for improvement, I was told, I cant do anything about that. I was shocked that this was something a make-up artist would feel proud of. My friends and family agreed that I looked much older, so I ended up taking it all off before the wedding. Id rather an artist say, Lets not do this, than send me out looking awful. Does her talent only apply to young women? Or did she just not care? In a hurry? It was a very disappointing experience that I wish I hadnt paid for.

I had a spray tan with Amber before my sons wedding. The easiest thing ever! Not only that, it looked so natural. No streaks. She told me exactly what to do to maintain it. A much safer and healthier alternative to suntan beds and even the sun. I recommend her to everyone! I will definitely do it again!

Shear Envy is my go to spot for highlights, trimmings, cuts, along with hair products, mani’s, & pedi’s. The atmosphere is so welcoming, & the staff goes above and beyond the extra mile. I’ve had my share of bad experiences with different hair stylist. I’m very particular about my hair (I have weird hair). Once I found Amber and her staff, I’ve never looked elsewhere. She helped me out when I had a hair emergency that my old stylist couldn’t get to for a week. Amber got me in and out the same day I called her for help. The girls are like family. There is never an awkward moment. I know when I sit in that chair my hair is in good hands. My husband also switched from his long time stylist to Shear Envy. They listen to what you want and ask you if you like it. My mom also loves to come see Amber and the girls whenever she’s in town and needs something done. They’ve also always been good to work within my budget; so I know what I’m paying up front, & and am never caught off guard when I see the cashier. So if you leave this salon unsatisfied; it’s your own fault for not telling them exactly what you want or how you feel.

I first started going to Shear Envy just to have a spray tan done by Amber. A couple of months later I went back to let her give me a fresh, new haircut and now she does it all! Amber and all the staff are excellent. I’ve been going to her for years and she’s taken me from a bad blonde dye job (from my previous salon) to brunette and back to an amazing blonde color. She is absolutely the best at color and I highly recommend her and trust her 100%. I drive one hour to use her because she’s the best. I also really like the fact that she’s continually getting more education on current styles and coloring techniques. Most stylists don’t work on that area of their trade, but Amber is always learning more and keeping up with the current styles.
