My husband& I had some issues with getting some of the information needed for financing that created some delays (Not at the fault of Carmax but of the bank)& Bradley was so patient & helped us so much with every step. He explained everything perfectly to us& even after the extra hours it took on our end, he remembered the bow!Also PB was great with helping us finish up with all the paperwork&made it as painless as possible.
CarMax pays more for your vehicle than new car dealers and they have great customer service. Everything went the way I wanted and I dont have anything to complain about. I got rid of my Lexus and bought a Raptor. Great experience!!
I went in two days in a row. My first night i went in just to get an appraisal. They were super helpful and offered me a great price. The next day we went back to sell the car. It was a smooth process. Online it said there was a wait but when i got there they got me right in.
Waited 2 weeks for my vehicle to arrive, paid $99 for transfer fee. Car finally came in, go in to test drive. Did all the paperwork and was told I need full coverage insurance on a car I haven’t even physically seen yet except in pics or even got to test drive!! Seriously!!! Get full coverage insurance on a Friday at 6:30pm. Requested transfer fee to be refunded and sales advised that was my problem now. Learned my lesson the hard way. Terrible customer service.
We bought our car from carmax and it couldnt have been an easier process. We found the car we wanted online, they shipped it from texas to the tulsa location, we filled out pretty much everything online. Once the car arrived we went to pick it up. We were only at the dealership for no more than 20 min. If you are looking for a vehicle I suggest carmax. They are definitely awesome.
Steve was the gentleman that assisted us with getting the car appraised. He was great.Very personable. The young black man that helped us with the payment part was not allthere. Asked the same question a couple of times and then realized he had heard theanswer before. His name was something like Yontae. If I had to guess his age Id say 23.Anyway overall the experience was very good.

My experience from start to finish was a piece of cake. CarMax gave me a very fair offer (and much higher than other similar dealers) on my car. I filled out all the information on my BMW online first and received a conditional offer. Then I took it in for an inspection and received the exact same offer. I brought it back the next day and had a check in hand within 30 minutes. It was a breeze and every staff member there was extremely pleasant and helpful. Excellent experience!!

All the employees are positive and they bend over backwards to make you happy. I like not having to bargain for my new car. I am so happy with my Subaru Forrester!!!
Sales department took forever to answer the phone and then gave a long winded explanation as to why I couldnt pick up my car today. Thats OK, because thus isnt a done deal and I will take my business elsewhere. They want to do things to their convenience and not the customers.
Was very disappointed selling my car here. They gave us the first offer but after their little once down the parking lot test drive decided my car “would need transmission work” and knocked $500 off the offer. We drove it there from an hour away 2 different days, I’m pretty sure we would’ve been well aware if that car had transmission issues.. BS
So for one, they just hung up on me. I called because I was told on Thursday, 7/8, that our title was in a stack of titles that they have yet to process. They were “behind”. I was told mine would be rushed considering my paper tag expired the next day, 7/9. Well I didn’t get the call I was promised that evening. Nor the next day. My phone call just now, 7/14, revealed that they sent my title to my bank on 6/19. Ok so my bank should have reached out. Still no reason to be rude when I question why that information was not available on my 7/8 phone call. That is no way to treat someone who waited 4 1/2 weeks longer for your delivery and delayed paperwork with no apology. Wife loves her Discovery though.
Houston team was great. Were attentive, and got vehicle transferred to Tulsa. Nothing good to say about Sales managers in Tulsa. I was told by manager, who didnt return calls, or respond to emails, that I must give respect to earn respect. Sales representative who managed test-drive and follow-up was obnoxious and offensive. What ever happened to customer comes first. I will never purchase a vehicle from Carmax of Tulsa ever again.

The car I purchased (a 2018 Infiniti Q70L), I accepted their price knowing it was definitely on the high side. What was completely unacceptable was their offer on the car I was trading in being a total low ball (the 2011 Sonata w/147k on the odometer - pictured). My trade was/is in exceptional condition, but their offer was pretty much that its a POS. I get pretty weary of this what we can buy it at auction BS as an excuse. And no, the likelihood of one in this condition at the auction: pretty much - zero. On their Edmunds (affiliate) site I showed them clearly the cars value being well above their offer, but that didnt make any difference even though they said (in advance) theyd honor an Edmunds appraisal. CarMax Integrity score: Zero. After all this nonsense I just decided to keep my Sonata. It still looks and drives like new (and yes it has 147k on the clock). Theres a couple of pictures here.You decide if I should have taken their offer: $2500. Why donate it to CarMax so they can make a ton on it? Unlike many, were able to afford an extra car. So, yes were done with CarMax for a while.
From the time I walked in, until I left, everyone treated me well. The offer that I received was better than I expected, and everything went smoothly. Definitely will be back if I need to sell another car in the future!
This is the second time I have used CarMax to purchase a vehicle. I have been more than pleased both times. No pressure to buy and they are very helpful. This last time I did everything from finding the vehicle, to getting a quote for my truck to applying for the loan all online. Each part only took a few minutes and made the car buying experience a lot faster when I actually went into the store and test drove the vehicle and purchased it. One of the things I like the most about CarMax is the ability to search for vehicles from more places than just my home dealership. I can search all over the country for the exact vehicle I want and they will ship it for free if the vehicle is close to the dealership or a fee depending on how far from the dealership the vehicle is.
This is the second vehicle I purchased from CarMax and I always appreciate their efficiency and care to detail. I had a lease I was no longer interested in and they offered a fair price to dispose of it with them leaving me with some equity towards my new car. The vehicle was delivered in great shape and my salesman was friendly and knowledgable. I came in with my own financing through my bank and they were able to process everything quickly. Ive purchased 2 cars from CarMax, both times the buying experience was good. Afterwards though, I requested help with obtaining a car manual, last was extremely rude and said I signed something that says I wouldnt receive one, okay then I just needed guidance on getting one. This last time I financed the tag and title, went to pick up paperwork to get tag and was told I might still owe up to $20, you would think that as much as they did this it would be within a dollar. Anyway, I ended up paying an additional $90. I wont be buying from them again.

Car Max is NOT the way car buying should be. Absolutely the most dishonest and trouble ridden experience I’ve had buying a car.First, I paid $199 to transfer a car to this market. Never once did CM tell me the title wasn’t ready nor would it be ready for another 10 days, and this is after the car had been on their lot 48 hours.Worked through and although Capital One Auto Finance said they would accept an offer letter from a job I started last Monday (no pay stub yet) CM said “their” branch of Capital One would not. Of course the next finance option I could’ve taken was double the interest rate.Long story short, I walked out of the dealership. Stay away.
It was a nightmare. They put all of the taxes, title and license fees on the invoice which complicated everything with the bank loan. I had to pay all of that money up front at the bank closing. Then the car dealer takes their time sending the money back to me in few weeks to pay it myself. I could have paid it myself in 10 -30 days without all the hassle. The bank and I both called them to fix it and they would not. The salesman at the dealership was nice and said he could fix it but it was too late since the bank had already drafted the money my account to pay them. It was a huge stressful nightmare of a day. My nightmare continues. They did no get the title to me and said it was lost twice. That meant penalties from the state for the tax title and tag. They assured me they would reimburse me. I have been told multiple times it would be taken care of and then I was told it was taken care of. I still have not received the reimbursement that I was promised because they failed to get the title to me. I am to the point of filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. They sure dont care about my business.

I bought a 2017 Toyota Corolla from CarMax! Very professional staff, did not try to beat me over the head for a down payment. It was painless and I left the lot that day with the car. It had 23,000 miles on it and is well worth what I paid for it. They also have something called CarMax care, which covers your transmission your engine and a list of other things within a hundred thousand miles. You really are secure and buying a car from this car lot.

I went to CarMax to sell my car this week. I was helped by Marcus, and Megan. Marcus was efficient and professional, and came to check on me as I waited in the waiting area which was nice. Megan was friendly, efficient, and very clear in her explanation of things while she inspected my vehicle. I got the same amount for my car that I had been estimated online. All in all a very positive experience.
After exploring options to sell our used car we elected to use Carmax. The entire experience from initial contact through closing was seamless. The representatives who assisted us were polite and helpful and exhibited GREAT attitudes! Though we could have sold our car for perhaps 15% more, we felt that loss was worth it in exchange the hassle of selling it ourselves. We would highly recommend using Carmax again!
Unfortunately, this location has no handicap accomodations. No driving on their lot, and no golf cart or way to physically look at inventory. Its unfortunately like a poor mans cattle auction, only we are the unfortunate cattle. No handicap accomodations, no business from us. Sour attitudes. Sad.

Not very impressed with overall experience. Every time I called and asked a question about my car no one knew the answer. It cost me $799 to have it shipped which is really way too much $$$! When it arrived it was covered with scratches and paint peeling and many dings on the outside of the car. The dealership it came from should have touched up all these before they shipped it or done it here in Tulsa. I had to have it done myself and pay for it. I hope this car lasts the rest of my life because it was very expensive for a used auto! Also, the guy that received all my information just kept trying to rush me and it made me very nervous and upset. Will not recommend them.

Talk about bait and switch con artists!!I had my car appraised at Land rover dealership for $18k and Toyota for $19k. Carmax offered $15k. Thats %27 different in half a mile.Sell your car at a large lot who has good sales.Automated costumer service is beyond poor. Good luck getting a live person. If you get one, still no help start questioning you like you owe them something!
This is our third car from Carmax every time has been a very good experience no pressure from a sale person. They are very patient with us while we look at cars open them up so we can sit in them and get a feel of the car, they even open the trunk so we can see the trunk and how big it is. Then to let us take the car of our choice for a test drive and mind you we looked at a lot of cars before we wanted to test drive one. The sales person looked at us and says you can test drive all these cars. but my wife goes for how it feels before she drives it. I would definitely recommend other people to shop at CarMax. They will be satisfied. Like we are.

Our buying experience was smooth and pleasant as was our experience with their service department.The SUV I was interested in was in another state and had to be transferred to Tulsa. Prior to arranging transport a sales associate contacted me by phone and made a list of things I wanted the dealership, where the car was located, to check on, mainly things that weren’t necessarily visible in the photos online. All my questions were answered and I received multiple status updates via email during transit followed by a phone call when it arrived. During the test drive we noticed a couple of minor things that needed attention and the sunroof wouldn‘t open. Our sales associate filled out a work order and we made an appointment. The service department put me in a loaner car and the repairs were completed in 10 days. I was impressed but the associate from the service department apologized for them inconveniencing me for that long. It wasn’t an inconvenience at all! I had a car to drive in the meantime (even got to pick from a selection of available vehicles) and my SUV got a whole new sunroof assembly and a new parking sensor at no cost to me! Carmax definitely stands by their 90 days / 4,000 mile warranty. I definitely recommend Carmax and it will be my go-to dealership for future car purchases.

If the person I was working with didnt have the answer they werent afraid to ask someone else. There was a hiccup with my bank/check but it was taken care of right away. All in all, I would go back.

Im a little disappointed with my experience. The employee was great, but the description of the vehicle online didnt match the product. It showed remote start online in the features and the vehicle did not have this (it was a manual transmission which safely wouldnt be able to have this function). I was ready to purchase the vehicle either way, but they wouldnt come down on price since they have no haggle rule. So I felt a little cheated. I guess I appreciate that we dont have to go back and forth on pricing and play that whole tiring game, but they should have taken off money for false advertising. They didnt offer anything, just an apology. On top of this, the car didnt have the spare in the trunk, which I thought was a little odd, all cars come with a spare. Its like they remove every possible extra to save themselves money. I purchased the vehicle anyway, since it was the best price in the area for the used vehicle I wanted, but I also waited over 30 days for my title paperwork even though they dont mail it to you, you pick it up. I didnt get the greatest feeling from the whole experience. They also kind of made me feel a little awkward purchasing a manual sportscar because Im a woman and a mom, like a woman wouldnt be able to drive it, and a mom wouldnt want just two doors. I did my research. Its just as safe and car-seat ready as any other two-door. Plus the bow on the car at the end of the sale was awkward, everyone standing by and they want to take a picture, especially since they just remove the bow and reuse it for each sale.

This was my first dealings with Carmax. Upon arrival I met a salesman. I was connected with the appraiser. Maybe 15 minutes for an evaluation. That information was sent back to the salesman for my approval whether we had a deal or not. Upon my acceptance I was sent back to take care of the e title and walked out with a check. Doesn’t get much easier than that.

The folks were very nice and accommodating. This is my 3rd visit over there, the other ones to sell a truck and buy a car, which I was satisfied with. The only issue I have with this visit was I thought the offer price for the 2019 Elantra was too low at $11,500. The car was in excellent condition and retail value was between $14,300 and $15,500. I just thought I would get a little better offer, like maybe $12,500. I know CarMax will turn around and sell the car for probably $15,000.

Started out great. Had my car picked out before I ever arrived. Then the salesman didnt explain the paperwork well someone had to intervene and help. The man that stepped in to help was nice at first. He didnt explain well either. I had to keep leaving to get more and more papers they expected. When I returned with the papers, still not what they wanted, or not good enough. I have bought many cars from many different places. Yes the people are nice at CarMax. You can get a nice salesman anywhere you go, but customers also want hassle free experience too.

The first man I spoke to on the phone Greg. Was great, he took a lot of time with me and helped me pick out exactly what I wanted. He had everything in order so when I got to the lot everything was just ready to go since I was driving over two hours to get there in winter weather.After dealing with him it just went down hill. The salesman at that point that I dealt with Paul, would not return a call or text message to answer a simple question.I have also emailed about the paperwork that I need to get my car tagged in my state and what a surprise still no response from anyone.I was also told that since I live in one state and buying from another that the taxes for the state that I bought the car would be included in the finance and that I would just be responsible for the state taxes I lived in when I went to register the car and of course that wasn’t true, which is weird because it has always been that way with all my other car purchases. But again I have reached out for answers and have received none.So other than Greg I am not happy with my purchase and I am luckily still within my 30 days of being able to return the car. If they can blow your phone up to try and sell you a car then they can’t take a couple of minutes to answer a call, text or email I can spend my money elsewhere.

Wasted two hours of my life. Requested a car, and they shipped it in. Representative on the phone verified I could negotiate the price. Waited a week for the test drive. Show up go through all their hoops, test drive the car. Ready to buy, was told, no negotiations! The car was 4k over retail! I was informed and ready. They are not a good place to buy in my opinion. Will not go back!
