4th of July 2021 we had a hydraulic problem with our pontoon. We decided to bring our family and friends to Long Lake and hang out by the beach rather than let the mechanical issue spoil the day. While at the lake we met Rick. After sharing our story with him he gave us an unexpected surprise. He offered to delay his day by offering a pontoon that was being rented by another family after they were done with it. We used it for about an hour so that our friends who came from out of town could enjoy the up north experience. His offer coupled with an extraordinary down to earth character helped end the weekend experience with a bang thanks to Rick and his Up North Boat Rentals. We are a family of 4 and rented a pontoon for the day from Rick. The boat was in perfect condition, and was the perfect size for our needs! We swam, fished, and cruised the islands of Long Lake. Rick provided exceptional service, communication, and kindness - He was so personable and ensured we had the best time possible! Rates were very reasonable, and the pizza (and bathrooms) across the road at Nick’s grocery store made for a wonderful lunch! Thank you for treating us like family of your own Rick, we had a wonderful time!

We rented a pontoon from Rick last week during our stay on Long Lake and couldnt have been more pleased from start to finish! Rick delivered a beautiful 2021 Bennington to our pier on Sunday morning, walked us through the pontoon and talked through everything Long Lake so we felt completely comfortable navigating around the lake. I rented a pontoon for a full day and Mr. Rick was absolutely amazing! Pricing is extremely fair and well worth the money. He made the entire process extremely easy and smooth. His hospitality was great. The boat was very nice, clean, and fully loaded with everything we needed. I rented the boat to give my family from Biloxi, MS a great day out on Long Lake. We rented two pontoon boats from Rick early July. What a great time. He provided everything you could need for a day on the lake. Rick was awesome. The boat was extremely clean and looked brand new. He was extremely careful with ensuring everything was COVID safe and was thorough on all the instructions for operating the boat. He also did a great job at pointing out all places to stop at and avoid on Long Lake along recommendations of the cleanest restrooms to use. We picked the boat up and met him at the dock around 10:30 and he encouraged us to stay out as long as we could for the day and never made us feel rushed. He even threw in a pizza which was a smooth move ...thats how we got introduced to Long Lake grocery which we found had great pizza. Wouldnt hesitate to rent from Rick again in the future.

Rick made our vacation on Long Lake great The boat was practically new and performed flawlessly. He consistently checked to make sure everything was working well and there was enough gas in the tank. Helped with good fishing spots and places we could swim. The lake has incredibly clear water and beautiful sandy beaches around the islands.We had one evening with high winds and the dock where we were staying would not withstand a boat tied to it, so Rick picked up the boat that evening and took it to his dock. The next morning he delivered it at 6 am so we could do some early morning fishing. Hes customer service goes well beyond just renting the boat. Rick is honest, straight forward, and fair priced. We would highly recommend Up North Boat rentals.

He gave us clear information along with a great video of Long Lake, a clear map, a really good rental deal which included the lifejackets, gas and a very clean, new pontoon. Had a great time on a fantastic 22ft Bennington pontoon. Beautiful boat that ran great all day. We had 4 adults and 4 children and still had plenty of room. Explored alot of Long Lake thanks to Ricks guidance and map he keeps in the boat. Rick delivered the boat to our dock personally and couldnt have been a nicer guy. The boat was squeaky clean, seemed new. Price was really reasonable and everything worked perfectly. Long lake is gorgeous and warm even this early in the summer. 10/10 would definitely rent a boat here again.
