I had just bought a snowmobile trailer and needed to get the bearings looked at and repacked on a tight schedule. Adam was able to squeeze me into the schedule, called me back to update me on anything that had changed from the estimate and got the job done in the time promised.I appreciated the professionalism, courtesy and friendly attitude Adam provided and spoke to him about bringing other vehicles to them when repairs and maintenance are needed in the future. It wasn’t just good news, it was GREAT NEWS!

Good News looked at my car and did work charged me $140.00 and my car did the exact same thing ..... come to find out he basically did exactly what my husband did prior....I went back he said he was going to do research and get back to me within the week and never contacted me. Im very very disappointed I wasnt given a refund seeing he did absolutely nothing car still does exactly what it was.....I would not recommend this business...

Recently took Olivia (my Jeep) in for a vibration that I couldnt figure out coming from my passenger side tire, and I tacked on an oil change last minute. Had heard of Good News from word of mouth, and this was my first visit. They did a great job. They were quick in figuring out what the issue was, gave me a detailed printed out quote on the work. I wanted it all done right away, and they were able to do it same day. My car is working great, price point was fair, and best of all, it was all so quick. I have always taken my car to dealerships in the past, and dealt with scheduling taking forever, and them having my car for days. No complaints, they did a great job.

I am only giving them 1 star because they were polite. However, they wanted to charge me almost $1000 to do a simple brake job THAT I DONT EVEN NEED DONE!!!! (I had 2 other shops look at my brakes after that)They insisted that my entire rear brake system needed to be redone. I had an idiot put my pads on backwards before going to them so they told me that it had caused immense damage. I am a girl, not an idiot. They could barely fit me in to check the brakes out but once they figured they could charge me 3x what any other shop would, they said they could fix them right then and there. I will NEVER go back to this company and I highly recommend the same for anyone else.Edit: Nice one! You insisted that you could fix the car right then and there. I was asked numerous times if I wanted to be dropped back off at work so the car was done at the end of the day. You must be very familiar with responding to negative reviews because you just tried to turn things around on me. Yes I appreciate you looking at it but I did in fact feel pressured by a couple of gentlemen working at your shop. I truly hope this is a learning experience for you all. There was no need to lie to me just to make an extra buck .

I just moved to Michigan and so had no idea where to have some minor work done to my SUV. My new supervisor highly recommended Good News so I took his advice and I was glad I did.Great bunch of folks and great work done! When you are a family owned business in a smaller town, your reputation either makes or breaks you. Good News is good people to me because they treated me how I like to treat my own customers.DG

I feel that they are really honest people here. Have had them look at my car (when the Chiltons said I should replace the timing belt) and tell me that I did not need to worry about that for another year or so. Have taken cars there for a checkup before buying a used car, and have never been charged for it. They do good work on time and in budget. Would definitely recommend them. They are probably not the cheapest place you can get the work done, but they are reliable and honest. The waiting room is quite good, clean and comfortable, but luckily you dont have to spend much time there.

Great place to have your car done. Very honest. Nice waiting room with toys for the kids (and room to run). I cant tell you how many times we took a car there for a second opinion and it came back as, Yah - you dont need all of that. I would trust what they say. They are reasonably priced. The only thing bad I can say is that they questioned something I said and I think it is because they assumed I didnt know what I was talking about (I had antifreeze leaking off and on from my van - and then I noticed the overflow was empty and I filled it - when I took it in to be looked at they couldnt get it to leak and they asked me if the puddle of antifreeze was under the car before I refilled the overflow - DUH - yes it was - I am not that stupid!) - but even with that being said they are as honest as you are going to find for a repair shop!!!!

My husband and I have been customers of Good News Auto for 19 years. We have had several Ford Explorers and F150s and my 09 Honda pilot serviced there for most of their lifetimes. We have both been very happy with the services performed, both big and small. Mike, Adam and Bill have all been in this business for a long time and do a great job. It has been our experience that GNA is one of the very best auto service shops in Traverse City and the surrounding area.My Honda Pilot recently reached 105K miles, which is a major service interval. Honda recommends that a new timing belt be installed, plus many other items such as a water pump, drive belt, thermostat, and a major engine tune up with new sparkplugs, adjust valves, etc. My Pilot also needed a factory recommended transmission service, rear differential service, and transfer case service too. Whew. GNA used all genuine Honda parts and fluids. All this work was done on time and within the estimates. We trust GNA much more than the local Honda dealer. Also, Rods 2011 F150 lariat recently developed a loud, very irritating knocking noise behind the dashboard at 65K miles. It turned out to be a blend door actuator part was going bad in the HVAC system. GNA knew what this problem was right away and replaced this part quickly and reasonably too; and for much less than the Ford dealer had quoted. In todays world, it is seldom that a business is so tuned in to the customers auto service needs. GNA has surpassed our expectations for honest and expert auto repair and we hope they remain in business for many years.Lynn and Rod Robison
