Just purchased a new truck from John Harding at For Ford Grand Traverse. Great expereince. John was very helpful in securing the truck I was looking for, maintained excellent communication, and made the purchase very easy. Rob is finance was also great. No high pressure, uncomfortable, sales tactics like I have experienced at other dealers. I would highly recommend Fox Ford Grand Traverse.

Need a safe vehicle to transport children, very polite people, but very unwilling to even try and find the thing you need like a reliable vehicle in your budget, only seem to care about new vehicle sales even though, they cant get them 🤔. So I contact ford corporate to let them know that they have a dealer that doesnt seem to try and help. They respond I dont understand why you are calling, you should contact the dealership. long time ford owner will no longer recommend this brand or dealership. So sad for a company to say they are a great business and dont care to here concerns of the consumers.
My start button broke and was dangling behind the dash while I was on vacation in the area. I dropped it off and they were able to get it repaired for me the next day. Cost was reasonable and staff were very helpful and friendly. Very happy.
Had an issue fixed in March. Same issue needed another fix after less than 6 months… Both done here. Over priced and under delivered should be the motto here. Staff were less than welcoming and to be honest didn’t seem to want my business at all. Purchased my car from this dealership but I will never be back or do business here again. Buy from here at your own risk.
We currently have our F150 in the service center. We have a recall issue that they stated they could not fix until another part was fixed. It took weeks for this part to be shipped. We fixed the part ourselves then went in to have the electrical issues addressed that should now be under recall. We spent 500 plus and followed their advice on multiple occasions. Now they want to charge us more than the initial quote. This will end up costing double the original estimate once everything is done. Im frustrated because I insisted the truck go to fox because of previous positive experiences. This experience resulted in us paying twice the estimate for a recall issue due to poor communication.
We recently had an excellent experience at Fox Ford GT. We initially purchased a vehicle and ran into some issues out of their control. The Fox team greatly exceeded our expectations and made us very satisfied customers. Fox Ford will be at the top of my dealership list for my next purchase!
When we were shopping for a used F150 my wife stopped by Fox Ford and was not impressed at all with the experience. So we ended up buying from someplace else. Fast forward a few months and we’re leaving for a long trip with our new to us F150 and the wrench and engine light come on. We took it in to Fox Ford service and they got us in and fixed the problem and saved our trip. Five Stars to the service department for prompt, friendly and professional service!
Me and my wife where currently in the market for a new used vehicle to replace her/our family vehicle we both work crazy schedule so it was difficult to find time for both of us to go up to dealer she found a few online and ended up getting in touch with Jeff drudge and found time to go down and test drive and get the buying process started it was a pretty busy day in there and Jeff worked very hard to get us the best deal on our 2019 escape. My service at Fox Grand Traverse Ford was nothing short of exceptional. I needed a new battery after it kept dying during a camping trip, and they were able to replace it for me right away. It took longer for me to drive there than it did to get serviced! Shout out to the service team there for getting me back on the road ASAP.
Avoid service as much as possible!!!! I have taken my truck there to get a recall fixed, it was falsely reported as fixed. The 19so7 for your transmission to be flashed was falsely reported due to my lead frame connector needing to be replaced first by ERIC in service! He then proceeded to tell me it would be 834 for them to change the lead frame, trans filter and fluid... now that I was told I could change the part by Eric my truck is currently at the service department because I cannot take my truck anywhere else to get the recall fixed because its already been reported!!!! BRAD told my wife there are no recalls on my truck!!! I have the PAPERWORK!!!!!!!!!! I found out through a different dealer that I cannot get the recall fixed at their shop because it was done already at fox in grand traverse!! Unfortunately my truck is currently there because its getting sneaked in...... this is possible poor service and makes me wonder why stores in charlevoix went under!

We were camping in Traverse City. My friends transmission started acting up and the engine light came on at 4:30 Friday. They acceptd the car, ran diagnostics, and gave us a ride. They will work on it Saturday. Hoping for good news.
I took my fathers car there because it wouldnt start,The mechanic got back with me and said it was the starter and that the car was so rusty they will not fix it The funny part is it was a $12 fuse. You show me a vehicle that is in northern Michigan for 10 years that does not have rust. The service writer said that we could trade it in and get my father into a new car, Im pretty sure what was going on is they want to sell cars and take advantage of everybody they can, not my place not good service its just a run around for all the money they can get.I forgot to say the bill was almost $200.00FOR WHAT.

EDIT: I went into the service department and had a nice talk with John the service manager. He explained to me the process with lunch rotations and also how they ordered a lift and will be hopefully taking appointments within the next 6 months. Very impressed with how they handled the situation! The express oil change was a mess. Waited over an hour to get in for just an oil change. Then they only have 1 guy working both lanes trying to keep up. Very disappointed, will be looking elsewhere for my service after this.

One of the worst experiences I have ever had with a car dealership service department. I think the motto of this service department is, recall work and customer safety are not our priority. I will never do business with Fox Motors and never recommend them to anyone. You need to step it up Fox Motors, there are a lot of other dealerships in Traverse City.

I purchased a rather new car at the end of last year from Fox Ford. And having to bring it in for an oil change and recall maintenance has been one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. They claimed to not have a loaner for me to use while my car was in service. So they directed me to a rental agency which is fine except for having to explain multiple times to the same people how I was not going to have to pay for the rental because Fox Ford didn’t have a loaner available. And then the confusion of the whole process has been ridiculous. I’ve had to call the rental agency and Fox Ford multiple time to ensure that I don’t get charged for the rental. I feel with the amount of money I paid for this vehicle and it being a recall maintenance issue the dealership should have taken care of the whole mess. Not to mention whenever I walked in the building I got just a terrible vibe from everyone working there. Almost like they thought “we already got your money for the car so I could care less about how we service you”. Pretty bad for such a big corporation.

We found out what excellent customer service was on September 14th. We were vacationing the previous week in the Traverse City area and on our way home (Sunday) our truck blew the water pump. Had it towed to Fox Grand Traverse for service. They called us on Monday morning and assured us it would be diagnosed that day because we were from out of town. We knew by 1:00 PM what the issue was and it was fixed same day. They were so professional and helpful! Alexis and everyone else were so courteous and professional! Five Star Service was greatly appreciated!! Top notch!

Work got done when he said it would, gave through explanations, listened to my explanation of the problem, talked through possible causes, recommended a course of action, and got it fully executed. Fox takes the pressure out of the car buying experience. Ive bought 2 of my cars here from John Harding and cannot recommend working with him enough. He will not push you into buying something and will make sure its the right ride for you. I hate buying cars and getting calls 3 times a day from the dealers, you wont find that here. Theyll help you find what youre looking for and can get you in a car and on the road same day. Their service center is top notch too and the mechanics are so friendly! Highly recommend you stop here for your next vehicle, I know I will.

Pushed to the side and horrible experience all around. Was told 2 diff things about a car i wanted. When i contacted a manager he did nothing to try to remedy the situation. So i took my business to another dealership..what bothers me is they ran my credit and told me if the first interested party passed i could get it no problem but when i came back at the time he said there was another person still.

I gotta say, I understand why I see so many of the little fox emblems on cars in the area. I have been to 4 dealerships and this one shows the best in ALL categories I judge a dealership by. I might even bump this review up to five stars (held back one just because I havent gotten to see all aspects of the place yet) since they have been outstanding with almost everything.
Everyone was very helpful and polite. The sales people were informative without being pushy. People were very considerate of my needs any time I had to wait for anything, and made a conscious effort to shorten those waits where possible. This was the smoothest, most satisfying car buying process I’ve experienced.

I have 2 vehicles from ford. A 2018 Fusion and a new to me 16 Explorer I recently bought from Fox. The service department I spoke to Steve and he was great with everything when my car was in there for service. The quick lube oil change couldve been better. We had come in twice first time got told to come back another day and the second got told after they already started the oil change that they couldnt do a 10 minute tire rotation because they were short handed. Pretty bad excuse. But I called Matt the service manager and he was very professional and even had someone come and get the car to do the rotation since they said it couldnt be done in weeks when he got it in a day. If you are going to buy a used car Pete is the man to go to. Ive never been a huge fan of salesman but he is the best salesman you can ask for. He goes over the top for his customers and was the best person there. He wont pressure you to buy a car or go over the top. When I get another used car hopefully Pete is still working there because I would buy from him again.

My husband and I recently needed to replace our old truck. We stopped in Fox and met with Zak Miller. We wanted something a year or two old, but were unsure what kind. Zak was extremely patient while we test drove various models. Once we found what model we wanted, he tracked down several that might meet our needs. Nothing seemed to faze him---he was always kind and patient. This was the first vehicle we have EVER purchased where we left the dealership feeling we got a great car at a great price. They even gave us more than we had anticipated for our old beloved truck. The whole experience was far above what we were used to in the past from other dealers. Every step of the process went smoothly. We are VERY pleased.

I would recommend Fox for service, but not for buying a new car. After owning Fords for 30 years, I now own a foreign made AWD electric sedan. Ford and the other 2 refuse to get going with clean air initiatives and electric vehicle lineups, offering only a couple electric cars each. How can they expect much in sales when there is no selection? As usual, foreign companies are way ahead of them. I was dedicated to US made for years and years, but not any more...the environment is more important to me.

Fox Ford Put My Life in Danger!I was told the rear drum brakes were long overdue and they were locked up. Upon receiving the truck back after being told it only needed new drums, pads and rear hardware, it still didnt seem to be quite right. However, I was assured after bringing it back again that things were fine, and the play in the brake pedal was fine; I was told even the mechanic working on my truck owns a similar one and thats how it is supposed to be. I took his word and drove the truck in that state for the duration of the summer in my trips between MI and NY. Upon my return to Traverse City this autumn, the brakes began to make noises I went to another shop to have them checked out. They checked the rear brakes and found loose parts inside the drum, and that the rear brakes arent quite right, hence the rapid wear of the front brakes. I told them to leave the back untouched against their recommendation as I wanted to see how Fox Ford would handle this, and upon my arrival I was assured that everything would be covered as it seemed impossible to wear through a set of drum brakes in less than a year. Fox Ford replaced the rear brakes again, and it still seemed off. At this point, I returned to shop #2 where they found that the rear brakes were replaced, but were not connected. Meaning that for the period of time between the two visits, approximately a week, I was driving a car without rear brakes, and Fox Ford put my life in danger. This is completely unacceptable, and for that reason I will likely never frequent Fox Motors again. I dont understand how it can be forgotten to hook up the brakes, and how the vehicle wasnt test drove to confirm this prior to me reviving my truck back from the dealership. DO NOT TRUST THEIR WORK!
I worked out a deal over the phone and drove 2.5 hours to pick up my used car. When I got there the car had a broken front grill and some bumper issues - it had been in a small bump/crash and not fixed. I was told that the car had been looked over closely and there was a large scratch in the rear quarter (that I had scheduled to get fixed) but was otherwise perfect inside and out (there were other small scratches, but whatever). It was a waste of 6 hours, but they did apologize and give me a gift card for gas money. That gesture gave them 2 stars instead of one. This place may be too big for their britches - things fall through the cracks.

Work done good except brake replaced not fully bolted in place. Made appointment 2 weeks ahead for 2 days with list of needed repairs . Got 2 out of 5 items done in 2 complete days.

I live in Hudsonville which is about three hours away from Traverse City and from the first car guru email that I sent to Fox Ford in Grand Traverse pie have had nothing but exceptional experience from my salesman Ryan. After two days of discussing the car and Ryan going out and taking extra pictures we agreed to buy it on the condition that once they brought it down to our house and my wife sat in it if she was not 100% completely satisfied they would return it with no questions asked.Ryan delivered the car to our door and his staff were patient as my wife went through it and carefully considered it and finally bought it.I’m very happy with the car with our salesman and the fact that it’s from Fox Motor because I know that if I have any issues I can take it to my local Fox Motor right here in the Grand Rapids area.
I asked about a price for an oil change on a Range Rover. Has a Jaguar engine from when Ford owned that marque. Blunt response was “no idea”. I was happy to wait for a few weeks, or to get any other local recommendations. Same response: “no idea”. One star for lack of effort. Not rude or anything, and they may well do routine stuff better (I don’t know) but disappointing nonetheless. Will head over to Serra.

I cant thank these guys enough for having the ability to filter out from 40+ used vehicles down to 4 that I was comfortable with.. they worked fast and had it washed and ready to go with a full tank of fuel before I signed off. We spend 48,000 on a truck there. After that anytime we called for service they gave us the run around. First they told us they would get a replacement mirror for a plastic piece that fell off. This started in August. Mike Koorn told us that he would order the piece. We never received a call back to tell us it was in and when we called it was never ordered. We then finally got an appointment to take it in and get an oil change and new mirror. This is now December by the time we got a hold of someone to get it in. Then after a few days of them having it they ordered the wrong mirror. In the mean time we have been calling the warranty division where a guy namedMatt “forgot “ to call me back and a the female on the warranty division answering machine has yet to call us back after leaving her two messages with questions about our warranty. We then stopped in there and spoke with a guy who drove it for an appraisal...we waited almost an hour to meet with him and then he told us he would run the numbers and ca is back. We have never heard from him again. That was three months ago.Last we had customer service tell us they would Give us a free oil change after we have been through so much....just to call us today and tell us they are charging us for the oil change. We have bought a lot of vehicles in our 40 years and never have we been treated this way. We never complain about anything but I know when I go to work I have to do my job or I would get fired. I am having a hard time understanding what is going on in this place but it’s not customer service.
I have purchased my used Ford Flex from here and they were so helpful and kind, not pushy! I now get my oil changed there and the service is always fast and friendly. It has almost been 2 years of continuous service with Fox.
Worst customer service experience Ive ever had. This locations service center is an absolute nightmare. Their lack of communication and lack of concern for customers created an enormous waste of time and money for my family. The manager was completely dishonest, said he would fix the situation that they caused and then blew us off completely. If you want quality service dont go to this location, the only one Ill trust now is the one in Cadillac.
Purchased three vehicles from Marty at Grand Traverse Auto/Fox over the years. The buying process has been great- all involved were knowledgeable and transparent. While I don’t have experience with the service department, my grandparents have (who didn’t buy their car in Michigan), and Fox has treated them very well.

There was no pressure whatsoever to purchase. I had misgivings about the vehicle due to a weird, stuttering start the first time we started the car, and Kristin was very supportive of making sure all of my fears were alleviated without making me feel like I had to commit to buying it.I also LOVED being able to take the vehicle home, and got to do so without feeling like taking it home was my commitment to purchase.All in all, it was a very relaxed atmosphere, which to me is more professional than pushy sales, as it says to me that you have confidence in your vehicles and their ability to sell themselves without bullying me into it.
Took my truck there on a Tuesday morning. No rentals available. No calls updating how long they would have my truck Had to rent a car to get back and forth to work for two days . Picked up truck on Thursday night and what was suppose to be fixed wasn’t except maybe the volume button on the steering wheel!! And they need to order the back window, which is fine!! But the bang in the rear end of the truck when shifting from first to second gear still happens .. pretty sure it’s the transmission. Which there was a recall on this...and the passenger window still does not work!!! Not sure what they did for 3 days??? Is it because I purchased the extra warranty they offered when I bought the truck? Bumper to bumper, electrical, the works..except “normal wear” . but they offered to change fluids and brakes etc... which would be over $1000.00 out of pocket cost!So disappointed.
My first review never posted so I’ll say it again.Don’t waste your time and money. I bought a 2012 Ford Edge from them and if I had known then what I know now I would have never done business with their company. The price of the vehicle magically jumped 1000 dollars when I showed interest in it. They didn’t have a spare key ready for me and instead told me to find time to come in and have one made, except the only time they can do it is 9:30 on a Monday, which isn’t really doable with my job. The car was overpriced, the warranty is seemingly worthless. The backup camera hasn’t worked since I got the car thought I was told it just needed a cleaning and now I have reason to believe something is either wrong with the AWD or one of the bearings but if I want Ford to look into it I can expect a nice 122 $/hour fee to look into an issue that should have been addressed prior to the car being bought. Ford has good cars but I’ll never buy another one from this facility
