This grocery warehouse kind of has a convoluted process to deliver to, and they dont really provide drivers with all the information they need. So many drivers, myself included, went around asking others if they had been here before and knew what the process was. I guess maybe this DC is new and still hasnt worked the kinks out. Probably best to avoid if one has the option to do so.

Poor people take 8 hours minimum to unload ’ super super lazy safeway

Driver avoid this place if you have to come be prepare spend easily 6 to 8hr or more. The reciver too bad lake for ever because they work hourly plus Union job. Not coming here anymore

Go past the first guard shack turn right on Hansen go down on the right is another guard shack overnight parking there they come in at midnight and start checking you in then you wait for a phone call for a door.. went real smooth plenty of space to back into the door..👍

Slow unloading only come here if u can spend 4 to 6 hours here off log book hours always ask detention so yours dispatcher or Brokers know they have to pay after 2 hours of yours appointment time . If I have a choice I would not come here for delivery 😒

Haven’t been driving for years but now I’m seeing what truck drivers deal with my respect for what they deal with is incredible…. This is the worst run DC I have ever dealt with!!! The most disorganized and poorly managed of any grocery DC…. They hold you hostage for 10 hours just to receive your BOL after payment is received for lumpers. Actually they deserve a -1 star . I will refuse any future trips here as it cost me $$$$$$ money!!!!

Got a door quick, but the first guard shack, had a lazy security guard. He thought he just could lay down and play on his phone. As for the rest of the guards, were friendly and looked at least somewhat happy to be there.

Been here many times they are not to bad getting you in and out

If you want detention, take a picture of your yellow gate pass before you leave (the guard will take it from you). It has the stamped and written times accurately depicted.If you get assigned a door on the opposite side of the building, STOP at door 410 to check in with lumpers before going to the other side. You CAN walk through the warehouse but sometimes you’ll get questioned or scorned by a power hungry warehouse supervisor for doing so. So do it at your own risk. Otherwise, you have to walk around (about 1/3 of a mile one way).

There’s a reason Roadway won’t deliver to these clowns. If you are 15 minutes late due to a delay at a previous receiver, they will turn you away REGARDLESS of the fact that they couldn’t operate at your level of efficiency. Office help has the personality of a tree stump.

If you get a load to this warehouse be prepared to waste your 12hours to unload. Bring you food water and everything you need. Cherry on top is they don’t even have rest room. Pathetic just a hopeless warehouse

This place never has the in and out times correct. Ill be there easy 6 hours and they will out 3 and a half. I really dont care to unload here.

They take 3 hours to unload then 6 to 11 hours more for paperwork ..This place will give you energy that you will regret your trucking life, you will feel like you should not drive truck in your life.I promise I will never come to this place.

I was prepared for the worst but actually had a good experience. Fast check in, fast door assignment but BOLs took a little long to get back. But thats to be expected. There is overnight parking on their property but they wont let you park there until 10pm.

Prior to my delivery, I read the reviews posted. Terrible! Upon arrival, I found the personnel to be polite & professional, and the service to be efficient. Half a truckload, 6am appointment, in & out approximately 2.5 hrs. Kudos, Safeway!

Arrived early for a 0515 appt. Nasty lumper coordinator told me to check in at 0130. Set alarm, walked back through the howling dustbowl of a staging lot, was told by a different lumper to check in at 0430. Walked back again through the dustbowl to finally be recognized. Got a door directly in front of construction activity which cut the maneuvering space in half, so I’m doing my Austin Powers in the Cushman cart improv. Left in the morning with a bronchial infection, valley fever - who knows. This Safeway DC is always seeking new ways to disrespect you as a human being, and our profession. They’re just. Not. Worth your time. If they kicked that lumper service to the curb, and paved that staging lot, I might go back. Been there twice, got burned twice. Return highly unlikely.

Here 3 hours early for appt. 8 hours later...Pay lumper then told to pick up bills. It is at that point they tell me that the department my product was going to was closed and I would need to make another appointment as they only unloaded half the trailer. I had product for another receiver that was behind theirs so they forced two appointments to be changed and tied up my truck for an additional day. Never again. Not sure how they keep getting carriers to bring freight here.

This Safeway has terrible customer service and lacks any kind of urgency. The limpets threw trash in my trailer.I had a 0630 appointment and waited until 0930 to get into a door then waited until 1230 to get unloaded.The employee that you check in with has zero clue as to what is going on with any of the details about your load and is unwilling g to even attempt to find out.Just wanted to give a beware when you get here.

Iono maybe it’s a rare occurrence.. but I had 5am apmnt .. checked in at 230am .. got door by 245am .. and out the door by 425am.. maybe I was one of the lucky ones this time around...

Typical large grocery wharehoise. Very little. Instruction. If youre delivering a reefer load you do not go to the main gate you go to the Hanson Street gate.make sure you take the first turn into truck parking and walk your paperwork to the guard shack. Then back to your truck wait when they call you walk back to the guard shack and they will give you a door. After youre backed into the door you take your paperwork to the door thats listed on the front of the folder.I got there at 2:45 my appointment was at 4:00 and I was done by 7:00. Like I said not great but expected.

Very very bad horrible place my appointment was at 3pm recived paper work 1am after 10 hours. Next time will never get load for these monsters no restroom no drinking water I recommend city govt should take actions against them they are making people hostage.

This place is huge, I was told by 3 different security guard where to go I had to figure it out for myself.Unloading took the average length.I was in and out couple hrs.

Stay away from this receiver! Their lumper system is the worst and dont accept cash. They tried charging us twice here. We called EFS company and they said that the amount got cashed out already. But the receiver said no and they need new check. They do hold your BOLs if you dont pay the lumper. Really sketchy place, dont do business with them. Reading the comments on here, it happens everyday to drivers.

Checked in at 7 PM and checked out at 430 AM. Bring your wife and a blanket your gonna need them. Oh yeah and they lie about your wait time. Dont come unless you really need the money

Horrible receiver. 7hrs on property lumper fee were told to put on a check then was told they dont take a check they want an express code. I was then told that the lumper fee system was down and had to wait forever to get bills and receipt back.

They totally in need of a new management teams in the receiving department.

Not on my list of favorite places...took 5 hours to get unloaded.. no communication.. no signs to direct trucks.. then suprise.. lumper fee.. they carve off your entry and exit times too.. so they dont have to pay truckers for their detention.. so wrong.

I truly wish I could give a negative star on this place. One nice person there and he was the entry guard. The rest of the people (and I use that term loosely) were rude foreigners who looked down on me simply because my head wasnt covered. It took seven hours to unload six pallets of sweetener. After another hour, paperwork was finished and I was told I would have to pay them over $230 (at door 911) for unloading their order. Lumper service was optional except drivers are not allowed on the docks so lumper service was mandatory. And people wonder why prices are do high at grocery stores. It starts with outrageous fees for unloading services. I will never ever go back here.

One of the worst lumpers I have ever dealt with in over my 15 years of driving OTR.Each time I have delivered here, I generally have to wait 5 plus hours for nor more than 7 pallets and the lumping cost equates to a form of extortion.Lumper shack on the 500 side, young girl that works the shack should be fired or made to work in another place. She is extremely disrespectful in her mannerism not displaying any type of professional etiquette. She acts as though drivers are beneath her and she can roll her eyes and walk away when being asked questions.This facility needs to be investigated.

Long time waiting drop off

This place is the worst place I have ever been to these people dont care about drivers check in at 9pm didnt get out of there until 3am

2am appointment. Arrived at 130am checked in, assigned door at 145am. Took about 5 hrs to unload a full trailer of turkey. Received bills at 720am and left. They do have overnight parking for inbound trucks at the gate - but not that many spots. Youll probably see trucks parked all over the road off 580. Its all no parking on the side of the road - but people do anyway - pretty dangerous IMO. No truck-stops of any size within 10 miles - so just do what you think is right. Always a head scratcher when these giant distro warehouses are built and no one even considers the trucks that deliver to them. Theres a Flying J off Sperry Ave South on I-5. Dont even bother. Yes its pretty new - but the lot is always full of dropped trailers or bobtails from the giant Amazon warehouse next door. So frustrating.

Wedding 10 hour

I went to drop off a load, asked guard shack how long is the waiting for drop their answer was “ they have no idea” SERIOUSLY? No answer

We arrived an hour early and checked in.. waited over an hour for a door call then Security threatened us saying if we didnt dock at the door within 3 minutes theyd give our door away and send us home. Then we proceeded to sit here waiting for 10 hours to be unloaded! Last time we were here it took 4 hours to be unloaded and an additional 3 hours to get our paperwork. Absurd

Had a 1200pm appointment got here 1145 got door at 1pm paid lumper at 3 it’s 430 now and still waiting on paperwork. This place is worse then wal-mart. Wish there was negative stars cause I would give them -5.

Wonderful Place to Work with Great Benefits

Had to wait one year to finally get a job here. The physical will leave you with scars. The pallet jack training was difficult because I am a woman. They are not considerate. Good luck.

Took 6 hours to unload. Lumper service took two hours to accept my commdata check.

How ever delivered the load on reefer side was pretty good. But on the dry grocery it took 9 hours to get empty. Very bad experience, not going to come on dry side anymore.

This receiver takes forever to unload you dont bother showing up early cause they wont give you a door until 1.5 hrs after your appointment time

Check in at first guard shack and park on dirt lot, go walking to the second guard shack, give them your paperwork and fill out a form they will give you. Wait in your truck for door. After getting the green light they will call you to pay lumper and wait for them to call you back to go get bol by door 991(at least for dry load). In and out in 2hrs after appointment time

14:00 appointment. Was told by them that I could check in 2 hrs early. So I’ve been here since noon and it’s now 20:04 and waiting for the call to get my bols. I gave them the com check well over an hour ago. It’ll be 2022 by the time I leave.

A nightmare of a facility.7pm appointment. Arrived at 630. Sat parked in dirt lot for 2 hours. Got the call for my dock around 830. Got to dock, sat another 2 hours waiting to get unloaded. Empty a little after 1030. Lumbers call at 1045pm for their money, I ask how long before paperwork will be ready. Im told about 20 minutes. I wait. 40 minutes pass. I call lumpers back. They say probably another 20 minutes. I wait another hour. Still no call for paperwork. Midnight I call lumpers again. Am told another 2p minutes. I said screw it and pulled out, and went to receiving. Receiving had my paperwork ready, but nobody called to tell me. Screw this place.

Worst place for deliveries in safeway distribution

As i assume many other trucker feel and experience the same agony and pain caused by receiving department. They dont have care or humanity. They flat out tell you that your will be waiting for over 8 hrs. They even posted the sign saying waiting is 8hrs. I tried to talk to shift supervisor to find out what was going on. He said that it is what it is, if you dont want to want then we can load you back and you can leave. This is the attitude i faced. I my driver knew or was told that this load was going to Tracy Safeway, I could have refused it. I dont know know how low the drivers are for these facilities. I could not give any star below 1, if i could i would have given them -10. This is how bad it it. I sent an email to vice president or someone that level, but no response. I don;t know what would it take to make these people realize that driver are people too!!

Good place to work

If you want to waste a 24 hours sitting at the dock this is the place. Slow lumpers and management that doesnt care, everything is crazy .

This is one reason why I hate hauling produce, there is nothing wrong with these, maybe the box has seen better days but hey its still good food! We have people starving and were going to be picky about the way the box looks!

If you can avoid delivering to this place go ahead and reject the load. You will waste so much time here but dont worry they will edit what ever times to make sure it looks like you have only been there 15 mins. Technically you did arrived (at the dock) at 0815. And technically your were unloaded at 0830. So there is no 2 hour wait for a door or a 3 hour wait for paperwork.

Brought someone here to pick up some stuff and the people were really nice. They let me use the restroom and offered my some water while I was waiting and I was just a quick visitor. I can only imagine how they are with people who actually have a reason to be there. Great atmosphere.

Unloader good but the people put the sticker and count the stuff very very slow. Unload count and write subject to count. This place need to hire more people or this company will be changing there name Soon like they did before. Safeway to Albertson. Hire more people it will be cheaper don’t waste driver time. Lumper they take over the phone and it took 2-3 hours just to print receipt. They are too busy playing games on there phone.
