Excellent gym to reach your fitness goals. The layout is perfect and the equipment is top notch. The staff is very professional and the other members are friendly as well. The whole facility is very clean and I look forward to coming to workout everytime.

We have been coming to Genesis North Topeka since January! When we come and get to enjoy the gym its good, however there has been several mornings that when we get to the gym, no one is there to open it. Meaning their morning worker didnt come in.Its extremely frustrating to have a morning routine and plan to work out before work and then you can because they cant rely on responsible staff.Not to mention the 20 minute drive to the gym and the disappointment when your pre-work out kicks in and you cant utilize it.Too bad the SW location didnt have earlier classes, I would not recommend the North Gym for anyones morning workout routine, they will fail you.

I primarily go to the Genesis North location as it is convenient (close) and has what I look for in a gym. They recently updated their equipment and have a good mix and free weights, machines, and cardio equipment.

Kelsey is absolutely amazing. She’s so personable yet professional. I met her at the TGIF party August 7th and she was incredibly kind and motivational. Not only do we have the same name but I hope to have a similar sorry eventually. I’m so impressed with the Topeka team managers Kelsey and Andrew. Then the regional manager Johnny!!! I’m so impressed and I’m so happy I joined genesis. ❤️

The staff is always friendly and there is enough equipment to accommodate gym patrons. I have always been able to get access to machines when Ive been there--even now with social distancing being the focus. The locker rooms are clean and new and Ive never seen it out of supplies--soap, paper towels, etc. All around a great gym.

My experience was short because all I needed was a gym for the summer. I am a student athlete and was strictly coming to maintain my current fitness level and once the gyms opened I went right to Genesis! Kelsey was AMAZING & all the staff were very understanding of my situation. There is a lot of equipment & LOTS of room to maintain 6 ft distance during these times. Sanitization stations were plentiful & I felt safe working out at Genesis every single time. If I could afford & stay in Topeka, I would be keeping my membership.

If you’re planning on working out in the morning when they’re supposed to be open you’ll be disappointed. They hardly ever open on time and when you are pressed for time and drive over 30 minutes to get there it’s very frustrating.

I decided it was time to get into shape. We looked at different gyms. Wanted a gym our son could drive to this summer and workout for football. They would allow him to come in with our other son. When I walk in they greet you by name. Trainer are very friendly and make you feel good about yourself. They push you to get better. Its clean and equipment is up to date. I would recommend Genesis.

I love this gym! I’ve been working out here for 2 years and have no complaints. Very spacious with a large variety of machines and if you ever have a question or need help, someone is always there. The staff very friendly as well as the members! I look forward to my workout knowing the community is so welcoming 👍🏼 I would recommend this gym to anyone who asks!

I have been into the Topeka North Genesis on multiple occasions. Its easy to see that everyone employed at this facility truly cares about the well being of all their members. The people at the front desk are always smiling and welcome you with open arms, the fitness advisors are always so willing to answer questions and are always professional. The Club Manager walks the floor and holds motivating conversations with people. Even when you can tell that shes in the middle of handling business, she will stop and ask how youre doing, or to have a wonderful day. In a nutshell, Topeka North Genesis is truly a family, and one that I am proud to say Im a part of!

Genesis has the BEST group and individual trainers! They are full of energy and very motivating. I enjoy the class schedule and variety of classes offered. Clean locker rooms is a huge plus :)

Great staff. They have been great to me for the 4 years Ive been here. Three personal space was perfect for me since I like to workout alone and able to do everything from weights to cardio with no waiting for equipment to become free.

I love exercising at Genesis,, there are so many amazing workouts available. The employees are always very nice, friendly, and helpful and they have so many available programs for you. I am so glad that I had the opportunity to sign up.

I would rate 0 stars if possible.. Do not, and I repeat, DO NOT waste your time with this company, sign up for Colaw or Crunch if youre looking for a membership in the Topeka area. Genesis solely cares about how much money they can scam out of you and meeting a monthly contract quota. I work nearby this club and was bothered everyday by one of their Fitness Advisors to sign up with them - texts, calls, and showing up at my work every single day, sometimes twice even after repeatedly expressing no interest in a membership! I explained numerous times that I wasnt interested in a contract because I knew that in the next year I would be moving and was unsure if there would be a club nearby wherever I decided to go for school. I was told by the FA who signed me up that if I were to move somewhere farther than 40 miles away from a club, I would be able to terminate my contract early without paying the buyout fee if I provided proof of address. Fast forward a year, I just got accepted into a college out of state and call to cancel my membership, wondering what kind of documents they would prefer as proof of new residency and was told that they have no record of this promise made by the FA who no longer works there meaning they are unable to honor it, so basically it was all made up in order to get me to sign the contract so this man could meet his quota. He was absolutely desperate to get me to sign that he wouldve told me anything in order to convince me. Im not upset with the current workers because Im sure they think I am lying since they are unaware of the terms I was promised, but when I called asking questions as to why I was made so many promises in order to coerce me into signing a 3 year contract, I was met with an arrogant and annoyed manager who just repeated the same thing to me, not answering any of my questions, just speaking to me as if Im stupid. This club is rarely ever opened on time, the saunas grow mold and are never working properly, the CM, OM and FA hang out as if they arent at work and often show up whenever they want, causing inconveniences when trying to get stuff like this sorted out and most of the front desk workers have no idea what theyre doing considering they hire new people every other week (says a lot about how the club is ran) ... I do believe this is the case for most Genesis clubs unless you go to one of the bigger super clubs. I wouldnt waste your time with this company or gym. I wish I wouldve done more research online before signing with Genesis because after today, Ive realized I am not the first nor will I be the last person that Genesis completely scams.

Ed is the main reason I moved back to Topeka. I had trained with him previously. He is a one in a million personal trainer and a true class act. He always gives me his undivided attention, shares his vast knowledge, keeps me motivated and is highly supportive. He is focused on helping me achieve my goals and makes every session challenging but fun. So much that I look forward to the next session. I am amazed how quickly he has transformed me and am looking forward to more amazing changes in the next few months. I am so grateful he is my personal trainer!

The staff has always been friendly and nice to me whenever Ive been there and very helpful. If you decide to weight training be sure to ask for Ed. He is an excellent guide on your way to fitness. Highly recommend him.

Love this gym. love the SO MANY of the classes. I just did zumba for the first time tonight. It was amazing, so much fun. I can see and feel a difference in my body.t with these doing different classes it keeps me from getting board and being able to maintain a routine of working out. they have a great variety here. I wish the North Genesis location had more classes at more times like the south west branch. But I will drive the extra distance to fit a class in my lifes busy schedule because I know it will be worth my time!

Personal trainers and staff are knowledgeable, personable, and professional. I’ve only been a member for a short time, but I’ve been pleased with my experiences. The club offers a number of different machines and group classes and individualized support to help meet your personal goals. I’m happy I chose to become a member.If you aren’t ready to commit, make sure to ask about a trial membership. The staff will get you in and show you why you should join Genesis.

Great place to workout at. Yea maybe the cost is a little high but its an investment for your life and quality equipment. Trainers also will give u free tips if you just ask them. Topeka North!!!

Love the atmosphere! The machines are great. The place is never too crowded. Ive enjoyed the boot camp class offered so far. I often workout right before work, so I like the towel service & convenience for showering and such. Locker rooms are nice! Everyone has been friendly. Im not a fan of the daycare hours & price option. I am kind of upset, because right after I got my membership they started a deal of 31% off monthly memberships! I wish I would have waited a bit longer & got that discount. Haha. Overall, not too shabby!! I hope to use the personal trainers a few times a week starting soon. Colby was awesome!! & I know John from high school, so I he for sure has to be awesome too! Thank you Genesis for an awesome gym membership experience so far!!I also tan right next door, so that works out pretty good.:)

Out of all the Genesis locations in Lawrence and Topeka the North Topeka Genesis is the best. The facility is always clean and the staff is always friendly and helpful.

This gym has all of the equipment I’ll ever need and the overall atmosphere of the gym is amazing. Everyone helps each other out and acts as we all have a certain bond all being there to better ourselves. It’s the most motivating gym in the nation!!

Since our retirement, my husband and I really enjoy coming to the Genesis Health club in North Topeka. Everytime that we enter the facility we are warmly welcomed by the front desk staff. The equipment is always clean and well maintained. The locker room is freshly kept and pleasant. We really like the structure provided by participating in classes and both Kathy and Donna are great teachers in the Group Power classes where we also appreciate the support and encouragement of our fellow exercisers.

Great gym. Gets crowded during peak hours, but generally has all all equipment and machines needed for a good workout. Newly remodeled and has a great shake station. Would like to see a basketball court available.

Staff, especially Megan, are always cheerful and helpful. The equipment and amenities are superb.

Friendly and clean. The staff is always helpful and my trainer Ed is the best. I have never been in this good health and great shape. Equipment is in good shape and fixed quickly if needed. Locker room is clean and well kept. What more could you ask for except maybe a pool. I can live without that.

I am here several times a week and am so happy to have a beautiful new gym to workout in North Topeka. Only a few minor complaints. One, its often times very hot inside the club.. and on the free weight side there are only one set of 10s, 15, 20 and 25s. Being female, I use these sizes most. Also most of the benches are broken and need replaced. I feel that the quality could be better for benches. Otherwise the staff is great, the place is a nice size and I enjoy each time I go.

It be nice if staff could get there early enough to open it on time. Also need to remember to bring an allen wrench to tighten bolts on the equipment before they back all they way out. There is no triceps extension machine or standing calf raise. Use the assist bar on the chest press to work calves. Gotta have at least 3 ways to work each body part.

I would give zero stars if I could. Northside club just as bad as southwest club. This place only cares about profits, not people. They cant even keep up with their own policies and contracts and change them from day to day.

My wife and I love this gym. The employees are always smiling and even the daycare center shows true care and concern. After just a week they already knew my name and our three children. Our girls love going to see them! All expectations for a great gym are here and to hold higher standards just for complaining purposes is unfair to the company. Go in, get fit, leave one day healthier.

The remodeled club looks great. The open floor space is nice and inviting. The staff is great. My favorite things about this club are the new equipment, the convenient location and the shake bar.

I really enjoy this gym. For me its worth the drive to N. Topeka until the renovations are being done to 37th. Its spacious, clean, nice equipment and the steam room is heaven. Would be nice if a trainer was on hand at all times for questions about equipment.

I joined once they took over for maximus and signed up for a membership until December 2016. Last time I went was September 2016 and found no need to keep paying $50 for a gym membership so I let my membership expire come December. Just yesterday I was going through several months of bank statements and realize they have been charging me every month since December. Tried reaching management and have still yet to hear anything back but I would like for a refund of my money they have been taking for me.

I Signed up a about 4-5 years ago and tried to cancel within a few months in because i had literally never been one time to work out besides the tour and got charged the full extent of the agreement. Unfortunately they were not willing to work with me at all. I would never treat my customers like this. Its frustrating that now i have a huge debt to pay off and not one person within the company has been concerned about helping me, Just concerned about their $$$.

Love this club! everyone is nice and friendly.. love all the classes they have to offer and have a trainer and love her! have seen great results and would recommend this club to others!

Great staff clean equipment.

I had a membership with 24 Hour Fitness which was bought out by Genesis. I also recently moved to Topeka and was pleased to find out that Genesis had three locations here. By the time I had seen the SE and SW locations I had decided to cancel my membership, early termination fees be damned. On a whim I went to check out this location (Genesis North) and, WOW! This location is clean, well-organized and all the machines are in perfect working order. Also, the space is big enough that you have room to do body weight work outs. And the machines are far enough apart that you dont feel like you are in someones space by working out next to them. This beautifully maintained gym is the only reason Genesis kept me as a member. Keep up the great work!

Worst costumer service ever! I will never go to another Genesis. The information I was given was a misrepresentation of the truth. I was told by Amy that I could pay for one month (the last month of the summer). I teach and absolutely would not have agreed to a 24 month contract. I am a trusting person so when I was asked to sign the IPad I did without asking any questions. I feel like I was lied to and deceived. I hope you will make this right. I workout every morning in my home and have no need for a gym membership. Never again!

Iv always gone to genesis and have seen multiple locations. Its fairly nice and has alot of equipment. Im able todo a full workout everyday I go. But they need to update some of their free weights and other small equipment. Then it would be perfect

The gym has a lot of nice equipment but the staff is clearly motivated by money and not so much the success of the gym attendants. Theyre constantly pitching their high-priced products, making you think you need them, when you probably really dont. The prices for training are totally unwarranted and the manager Justin oozes pompous douchebag.

Fraudulent Business. Working out is supposed to be a good option for your health, and is supposed to mold you into a better person. They keep taking money no matter what, and never let you cancel without 300 dollar fee, regardless of if you cannot afford it. They are extremely deceitful with their contracts. Desperate times? They dont care. Avoid this gym, please unless you want random payments taken from you for the rest of your life.

Disappointed right away when I had an appointment with Alan for a personal training consultation. The whole appointment was only supposed to last 30 minutes. That is how late he was. I left and did not reschedule. The manager Joe didnt seem to care either way that he was late and that I was waiting. He told me he would only be a few minutes late. After 15 minutes I left. The bathrooms have a funky smell to them and I have never seen any of the gym employees wipe down any equipment. Weights are left on equipment frequently requiring me to unload them before starting a workout. And the whole staff is generally unfriendly and seem to act as though they are doing you a favor when you ask a question. More recently I was told they are no longer going 24 hours like they said when I signed my contract. The reason they said was because of someone stealing something. I found out from a former employee that someone smeared feces on the womens bathroom wall and that a girl that works there that is close to the owner had to clean it up and that is why.

My favorite of the 3 locations near meWell laid out, not too crowded, and very good music!

I love the classes and the people at the Genesis Health Club! Im so glad I signed up - as a lifetime couch potato, I didnt know where to begin, but after only a couple of months, I feel right at home there!

Their facilities are top notch. Always clean and well maintained. The only issue I have is they are very deceptive when signing contracts so beware. I signed up for an 18 Month special and signed on their IPAD. I was told they would email me the contract and when I received it I realized they signed me up for 36 months. After realizing this I called and was told they put a note on my account that I could cancel after 18 Months but the contract said otherwise. After several days of getting the run around I ended up going in person and talking to a manager. They told me they put a note in the system and I would be fine when I canceled but I demanded that they put that in writing. They have a very bad reputation for these deceptive practices so beware and read your contract!

0735 and the gym is not open! Called the other gyms and no one wants to come and open it. This isnt the only bad experience I have had. I am about done with this gym! Not a happy customer!

Had a free trial membership back in December and was promised they were doing a renovation. When I was there the progress seemed stalled and it appeared all they had done was to pay someone to beat down the walls with sledge hammers. I stopped back in yesterday to see what progress, if any they had made. I told this to the lady at the front counter and she told me I could not look into their progress unless I signed up as a member. No thanks rude front desk girl, I am not signing a three year contract so I can see if you followed through on your claim of doing a renovation.

This is the worst gym ever. The drinking fountain was broke for like 8 months. They lack personal safety equipment like weight clamps and when things like that are brought up they act like they dont care. The management staff is unavailable and just plain rude. Its obvious that the managers, Eric and Laresa are uneducated and have no concept of customer service. They are also completely unorganized. I cancelled my membership and 4 months later they are still billing me. I asked them about this and they said they couldnt find the cancellation form I signed and asked me to produce a copy.. .really!?! Thats your job to file that besides who keeps something like that for 4 months. They recently closed their Lawrence location and its obvious that this company is in decline. Easy to see why. Avoid this place at all costs or youll regret it!

Being from Wichita, Ks this place only kind of makes me feel at home. Great and friendly staff. However my biggest complaint is the fact that the staff makes no effort in properly re-racking the weights from smallest to largest. Most of the time weights are scattered, and I usually have to go searching for the weights that I need to complete my sets. I make every effort to clean up when im done because im concious of it, however for the vast majority of busy minded tired from a long day or just starting their day customers, is not. We as the consumer pay Superior membership fees to be at a Superior gym. Attention to detail is how a Five star can be earned. If it helps, in Wichita, someone from the staff is designated every hour to scan the floor, re-rack and clean up. Oh, and whats up with the drinking fountain? The water is warm, then cold for a few seconds, then warm again.
