I took a tour and was so impressed that I joined. Cant wait to get started. The facility is very clean and the help are very nice. So glad that they were close to me.

This is a great fitness center with machines, free weights, walking/running track, pool, gym, sauna and steam rooms. What makes it great is the easy going relaxed atmosphere. The staff and members are friendly and encouraging. There are people of all ages, shapes and sizes and I think anybody would feel comfortable here, especially those who are just starting out a new fitness plan.

Its not bad, but certainly not top of the line. The equipment is adequate though there seems to be a lot of torn seats and rusty weights. Parking is sparse and I wish they had security cameras for their parking lot across the street because this is not the safest area. My main criticism is that you are required to get a key from the front desk to use the restroom. Not sure what the purpose is to ask to use the restroom like some grade school child.....assuming you can find an employee to get a key from. They have a sneaky way of preventing you from canceling your membership so be sure and read ALL the fine print.

Expensive, constantly broken and worn equipment, some held together by tape. Strict contract terms that one can only make changes in once a year.

Would rate higher if staff was a bit nicer. Just rude people that spend more time on their phone rather than assisting their patrons.

I can get good exercise there!Theyre friendly.So I go and enjoy water aerobics.

I go to my exercise classes every Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays.

Found 3 bugs in pool, charge TRIPLE what the Y on 37th & Fairlawn. This B said I couldnt get in the pool in Capris and t-shirt. No other pool has a problem with it.. Then she continued to hover around wherever my BF & I were 🤬 The nice guy at the front desk did give me my $ back though.... will never go there again... 37th & Fairlawn Y is the place to go.

Nice & clean facilities. Very friendly staff & most helpful. Classes are well thought out & fun. Couple of classes I want to take conflict in times, but I will pickup 1 class on Tues/Thurs & make up for it. Given my membership as a Xmas present— & what a GREAT GIFT 🎁 Thanks a million !! Consider this if you have a hard person to buy for. Other members seem friendly enough. However I’m not going for socializing— going for my health. All in all VERY happy & making progress.Great Life is a “great place” ...

Great pools. Treadmills are awesome clean and most staff is nice and knowledgeable. How there are 2 front desk girls that are not friendly and do not know a thing about the place

Great amenities for the price and centrally located.

Im a very disappointed member. I paid for a swim membership and was very happy to see that I could swim in the lap pool after work at 4:00 PM. However, a few months later, without any notice at all, that changed. The lap pool is closed to members every day from 3:30 to 5:30 PM. I wont be able to swim at all anymore except on the weekends. Nor do I have any recourse for a refund. In addition the attitude of the staff was very cavalier, and no one was able to tell me where or who to address my concerns to.

Horrible customer service! Worst contract, not possible to cancel. They also lied when I signed up, said I can use all their facilities in Topeka, was not true, only one which was really far from my home. Now they are closed due to Covid-19 but still taking money from my account every month, last was April 15th. Never return calls. Im not using this gym for 1,5 year now, tried to cancel a few times, last time 6 month ago, not possible. Tried to call number listed on main website, they are in another state and not helping too. Its just a racket.

New equipment, friendly staff, heated pool, and a lot of group fitness class options with enthusiastic and knowledgeable instructors. The new membership tiers are fair and easy to understand. Keep in mind your contract is valid until March 31st no matter when you join.

Ive heard nothing but horror stories about GreatLife contracts, but I tried reaching out since theyre the only place in town near me with a pool. I tried twice and never received a response.

Great staff. Nice equipment, pool, etc. Ive never done a class, but they have a number of different options there.Edit: this review is based on the YWCA location. Ive used most of the other locations in Topeka a number of times, but dont go enough to give any of them a thorough review.

This is the absolute best location out of all the locations at Greatlife ever in the world ever.

I go to Great Life for their aerobics class Cardio Blast. Great instructor. Good custodial staff. Locker room is clean. Front desk staff is friendly and helpful. I rarely use them but the machines are fairly new and popular. The weight room is heavily used.

Love this place always clean locker rooms clean pool and everybody is so nice and love playing volleyball in the water and other water activities

Open has good equipment, and 20 laps around the track is a miles

Joyful, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested staff at every level. Some older machines in most areas, but they are replacing pretty rapidly. Machine weights, free weights, treadmills, steppers, ellipticals, all available.One of my favorite features is the Hydro Massage.

I only gave one star because I could not give zero. This course is the absolute worst I have played in Topeka. The fairways are about 4 inches deep. I know that great life just took over the beginning of this year however if they cannot afford to have somebody out here mowing every day it does not deserve to be called a golf course. This place is a Real cowpasture.

No frills gym with good overall equipment. Steam room is nice feature. Also indoor pool is great in winter with kids.

No hot water in the shower! Otherwise is great!

The staff member at the front desk was disrespectful and the locker room and hot tub were filthy. I am cancelling my membership.

I recently interviewed with Greatlife. First interview was with Chris Hubbard and he insisted that I have a 2nd interview the next day with another manager and the owner Linda. The interview went amazing both days and Linda told me at the end of it she for sure wants me working for Greatlife and gave me the employment packet to fill out all of my w-2 and w-4 info, etc. Linda told me to get ahold of Chris for my start date and rate of pay as soon as I got all my paperwork filled out. So I did. I even gave them my checking account info, DL, and social, because I was hired. I also got Albion’s of Chris within the next couple of days to see when he was going to be letting me know a start date and he told me it would be a couple of weeks because more positions became available so he was trying to place everyone. So as I’m waiting for the next couple of weeks I called him on exactly 2 weeks from the date he told me it would be 2 weeks and it seemed impossible to get ahold of him. Then I finally got ahold of the other manager that I interviewed with and asked her what was going on and she said she had no clue due to Chris being the hiring manager but she went ahead and texted him immediately and got a response from Chris immediately that said “not hired”!!!!!!! I honestly could not believe bat they would do this to me because they new I have a son and the simple fact that they told me I was hired and gave me the employment packet to fill out and turn in with all of my information! Chris had no explanation for the reasoning and told me that it wasn’t his decision that it was HRs. Lol which I know he was lying. He completely wasted my time and money. I could of already had another job lined out to start but instead was waiting for him to get ahold of me with a start date!! It’s definitely a blessing that I don’t work for this company because it’s obvious that they’re very unprofessional, and are doing things to innocent people that are 150% unacceptable!!! He could of let me know that they weren’t going to hire me before they told me I was hired and had me fill out all of their employment information. Never in my life have I dealt with such pieces of work when it comes to management at a facility. I truly hope Linda fires Chris because he is a terrible asset to the company. I mean it definitely doesn’t look very good to have an obese male managing a fitness facility. It’s a bad representation for Greatlife and this guy has clearly taken his management position to his head an ran with it and thinks he can rip people around in whatever way he feels and feels no remorse when he’s doing something negative. If I could give this place NO STARS I WOULD!!1

Front desk was extremely friendly and very, very helpful! Facility was clean and equipment looked to be in good condition. Also briefly met with a Zuma instructor who was enthusiastic, encouraging and knowlegable. I highly recommend!

Gymgoer beware. Apparently, this place has thieves. I was at the gym and after my workout, someone stole my keys from the cubby area. So I go to the desk to ask if I can review the video surveillance, and they tell me they wont invest in any because itll raise rates. I tell them I need a replacement key fob, and they insisted that I pay $5 for the key fob that was STOLEN from THEIR GYM. When I asked if they thought it was appropriate to charge victims of a crime that happened inside their gym, they explained that people steal their stuff all the time.So, not only do they not have security cameras to ensure your safety, the safety of your belongings and their own, but they have become SO complacent that they themselves no longer care when anyone steals from them.I contacted a guy at their corporate office to ask why they insisted on profiting off my misfortunes, and they told me they were not profiting from the $5 key fob fee, even though he refused to tell me their cost for the item. He said, thats none of your business, but we are not profiting.If you come here, be prepared to defend your belongings. They have so many criminals theyve GIVEN UP on catching them.What a Great life this is indeed.

Excellent place for women to workout and feel safe. Clean. Short hours on the weekends is the only slight negative.

Blatantly dishonest. I canceled my membership by submitting the required paperwork well in advance of the annual date, several months later I noticed I was still being billed and called to inquire about it. They said - shocker - that they never received the paperwork and thus would be charged for another FULL YEAR. No exceptions. IF you consider using this gym, keep every bit of your paperwork, because you will need it for the record when they inevitably try to pull a fast one on you.The gym itself is atrocious, limited equipment and what they do have is in disrepair, dirty locker rooms, aging and leaking ceilings. Literally zero redeeming qualities. Another lousy gym with deceptive practices and slimy management that is more concerned about bilking money than improving their facilities or even keeping them hygienic. If there is any other option in your area, steer clear of this trash pile.
