I appreciate the expertise and guidance that the staff provide. For example, I initially was seeking quick fixes for my home computers and system. Covid-19 has caused both myself and spouse to set up home offices. Both of us are novices in the IT world and could easily be sold products that we do not need. The staff, especially, George Lambert, and the skilled technical folks, are educating me about how to create an amazing home IT office. The plan they have design will utilize current hardware plus new purchases that will expand our home computing and still be cost effective. They deserve many KUDOS!!!TY PETTY

I will start off by saying I would not steer clear of them, they are a good place, but my current experience is not going well.I went in 20 minutes after opening one day to have them install a harddrive and clean up a few cables. I was told it would take less than an hour, and it should be done by the end of the day, if not for sure the next morning. its now been two days, just to hear they havent even touched it yet. They do good work and their prices are fair, but the speed of the work isnt there. I use the computer for some online work and classes and has now been two days unable to do either.

This is now my go to computer store! They won my business from Best Buy no hands down! Cutter is the best! They took care of diagnosing my computer problem in less than 15 minutes! Excellent! I will definitely return for future products and services!

They were professional and polite, however unable to help fix my computer. I dropped it off on a friday morning and came by Monday afternoon about 5pm to check up on it. I was told it might be ready monday or Tuesday at the latest, which was fine. I was getting a little antsy and called over the weekend and seen if progress was made. The technician doesnt work on the weekends which is reasonable. However I popped in monday afternoon and they hadnt even gotten to it fully. There was a mix up and claims I wanted to come pick it up AS IS! His response was, and I quote, we have just been super busy and I havent gotten to fully look at it. My guess is, I think it could be the motherboard. I was getting power to the battery. But I had figured that much out on my own! Thats why I hired a professional. He just apologised and insisted he could not do anything for me. More refund a diagnosis, being that he didnt give me one.

They only charged $25 for a diagnostic check, and then they fixed the problem with no additional charges! No issues since they worked on my computer.I use to take my computers to Best Buy where I buy them. Every time they charge $99-$149 for a diagnosis and then tell me it will be cheaper to buy a new computer than to have it fixed!I will definitely go back to the Computer Store when needed.

Has lots of parts. Though sometimes you can find the part online at a better price. Depends on how fast you want the part. They do have a great service support system

The staff tried to change my purchase idea due to it being from a different store. The technician had trouble working on my laptop due to actual bugs, which caused him to meltdown and request I leave. Long story short, their service was hardly better than me, and the people in there could cause psyche problems. Dremel or not, cutter is a really weird name to hear while suicidal... The products in here also appear marked up compared to some of the other places I found. Couldnt look too much, but I was looking for and didnt find computer cleaner that prevents insect infestation.Give this place a shot if you really need computer help.

I ended up breaking one of the clips + rear fascia on my laptop. The Computer Store took great care of me, at an affordable price. It took 3 days for parts to come in, and roughly 3 hours for the repairs itself. Very satisfied and if I ever need computer services again Ill return.

I bought a computer from Jim in November 09 around Thanksgiving. The system had Windows 7 but didnt want to play any games that were allegedly compatible with that system. After multiple graphics crashes, I took the system back to Jim, at which point he said hed replace the whole thing with all new parts (since I hadnt even had it a week). Strangely enough, same thing kept happening with the new system. Given that I had only had the systems total for 2 months, I demanded a refund.At this point Jim started saying all sales were final and accused me of just having buyers remorse while implying maybe I was just being emotional due to the recent passing of my father. (I wish I was kidding.) Strange, but when we proceeded to buy a system from Best Buy with Windows 7 on it, magically all these games started to work again.Im not saying dont buy from Jim. Im just saying that with all the other options out there, Im pretty sure Id make him my absolutely last stop. Hell comment on how many network customers he has and claim that youre the only dissatisfied customer, but as you can see from the other comments here thats far from the case. Indeed, before he likely complained to Yahoo, at one point his rating there was below 3 _with_ clearly purchased / family reviews. You can also tell that he had some ratings removed, as he was actually dumb enough to respond to my ratings there by going ad hominem.So so caveat emptor definitely applies here.

I want to respond to the negative reviews.I would like to say out of the thousands of VERY HAPPY customers we have, we love you and THANK YOU for being understanding that we are human and not perfect. I am glad you are our customers and we will bend over backwards for you.Saying that, by reading the negative one stars on here it is obvious that only the customers that wont listen to us or will create their own problems then blame The Computer Store are the ones that like to write negative reviews.There is a reason we have been in business in Topeka longer than any other Computer store, because we provide the best service we can and we love our customers and always bend over backwards for them.I think it is interesting how the bad reviews on here have not came to me or my manager personally to resolve their problem before leaving a bad review.Enough said, if you stop in the Computer Store, please know we will help you in any way that is a reasonable request for any problem.

I bought a Lenovo Thinkpad from The Computer Store in the summer of 2015. I had had some problems with my other computers, and talked with the sales person at TCS extensively about whether the Thinkpad would have the same problem.As far as my initial experience in the store, I felt at the time that they did an excellent job.But they didnt tell me about the severe and insoluble problems that are widely encountered with Lenovo.Lenovo interferes with the functioning of Internet Explorer. (I dont know about other browsers for sure, but my experience there has not been good either.)Not only does it interfere with Internet Explorer, but it CANNOT BE REMOVED FROM THE COMPUTER.Try searching online for How to stop Lenovo from interfering with Internet Explorer. What you will find is, there is no way to do this. Engineers are searching for a solution; so far, nothing.So what good is a nice salesman, if he is selling an inferior and unfixable product?
