Terrible experience overall. We were somehow convinced to do a three-year contract under the guise that we would get a discount on other properties. That never happened. Then commenced three years of awful service visits in which we were always told we had thousands of dollars worth of problems to repair. We had second opinions done and were told we were being scammed. I don’t trust this company at all and feel bad for their employees who must be pressured to make sales every visit.
My 3 year and 17 day old Day and Night AC unit quit cooling on 7/2/2021. I called Orangutan and they had a service rep here on 7/3 (great service just before a major holiday). He added coolant and it ran until 7/14 and he ordered a part. Another call with great response and again ran for 3 days on 7/17, 4 year anniversary of install on 7/17/2017 (so there was a leak), again a call and service came back and found leak in the outdoor unit and ordered a coil. 7/20 repairman said coil could not be soldered so await new coil. Quit cooling on 7/22 called in again, serviceman charged again. Service man came out to check on 7/26 and said outside coil onsite 7/27. Another serviceman came out on 7/27 and found a big leak in the compressors copper line and repaired. Today is 7/28 and still cooling so far I am cool (Im pretty sure its fixed this time...if not...) I add here that all but 1 person I talked with at Orangutans office were very helpful and polite. They gave better response than I expected remote to their office than probably the local companies (I cannot substantiate that). Overall Orangutan has served me well, Thanks to all involved. (So far today I am cool).
Great service, friendly installer, and a quick install. Pricey, but thats more on the supply of air conditioner units. Very reasonably priced on the service side. Ethan, the installers helper was great.
Outside main water line was great. Do not have them do anything in your house. After coming out times to fix a a water faucet for wash room, I thought I was having a washer leakage issue and called my washer warranty repair man ( which I waited a week not using my washer). Repair man came out and th drainage hose was under the foot of the washer and crushed which caused the washer to leak and drench my carpet. I called days and no Orangutan and was told someone would get back to me. It has been call. I was charged $2,300 for both inside and out.
Orangutan AC service is bad. Not worthy to call for service.Call several services before you make a decision.Most staffs at Orangutan are not well trained and have lack of knowledge to repair or provide maintenance but their service fee is outrageous.I paid for maintenance service fee of $297/year for cleaning evaporate indoor, condenser outdoor coils, flushing and cleaning condensation line, calculation measurement of all motors, and roof inspection etc.John did not do cleaning outdoor coils and other things described in the invoice. John said pipes should be replaced due to burst/cracks and the replacement of the pipe (25 feet) would be another $299.Another service man, Steve came and drained the pipe without replacement but 2 hours later, it leaked again.Another thing: Answering service at Orangutan avoid customers call or ignore my message to deliver to a manager. Especially, Sherri at answering service is a top ignorant person.Customers deserve a Better Quality Service!!!
Orangutan home services sent out a repairman to fix my AC within the hour at 8pm at night. It was 89 degrees inside the house with over 30% humidity. I’m going through a divorce and my ex wouldn’t pay for the repair - the repairman Travis was very kind as I cried and talked to me about his family. The AC was fixed within the night and the repairman was so kind about my situation. Totally recommend. Kindness and humanity is all that matters in this world!
Former Home Depot Contractor.Got a quote for a replacement 5 ton AC unit when mine went out one summer. Their prices are extremely high. A 13 seer Rheem (bottom of the line) was $7800. The exact same unit online was $1700. $6100 for install seems high. Additionally they wanted to charge me if I decided to keep my old AC unit. They recycle the old units for raw material.Might want to go somewhere else.
We lost our AC and had to call for service. Steve, our tech, had a very positive attitude and was very knowledgeable. Although he made every attempt to find the problem, he was unable to find why our unit had failed to maintain the desired temperature in the house. We appreciated his honesty and he noted that a return (at not cost) may be necessary if it happens again. Even though our AC unit had an issue, this is one of the better experiences that Ive had dealing with Orangutan. Kudos to Steve for his customer service!
Do not use the serviceThey charge very expensive.Just replace the compressor and add refrigerant. They charge $5,088. They offer to do many things but they doesnt do all of them.You should not be the next victim.

Call Orangutan on a broken water heater, and they we here within an hour and a half! Great service! Quick! Clean! Professional!
SCAM ARTIST ALERT! My elderly mothers unit stopped working last week. She has been using Orangutan for their 6 month service since prior to my fathers passing, so she just called them up. They told her she need to replace her 7 year old Trane unit because it could not be repaired. They told her to write them a check for over $8k. When she told me this, I called another AC company to check the unit. They replaced a $35 fuse, removed the extra coolant that Orangutan had put in her unit (they overcharged it) and it was fixed. The unit is in perfect condition. They tried to prey on my elderly mother when she was vulnerable. They should be ashamed of themselves. RUN. They are just trying to sell new units.
Had a new AC in summer of 2019 for $6800. Compressor failed 16 months later at a cost of $5800. Only partially covered by manufacturers warrenty. Went to sell the home and had it inspected, this is what their install looked like in the attic. They left a huge gap blowing cold AC into the attic. The new drip pan shows lots of leaks and rust. Sloppy work and poor service. Still waiting for someone to tell me how to remedy the poor install.
Ive been a customer with Orangutan for years, and every Spring and Fall Maintenance have been positive experiences. This year I had to replace my 11 year old Trane, purchased through Orangutan. Tech Josh and Mgr. David were fabulous in helping me choose a new Trane, and get a VERY reasonable price, with amazing, affordable financing! Jose was very courteous and efficient in the installation of the new unit, & the Smiley Crane operator was very friendly! Hi. We have been using Orangutan Home Services for the past 13 years and recently had their Duct technician Chris Wells come to our house to try and find a solution for the airflow, that was not cooling our master bedroom effectively. At first, he climbed in a tight attic, on one of the hottest days of the year in Phoenix and, could not see how to fix it due to the constuction of the rooms and how the vents were laid out. He left, and came back 4 days later with a couple pieces of equipment he ordered and an idea how to make it work. Back into the attic, and about 90 minutes later he fixed it, and we now have better airflow thru the house than we have ever had. Our experience with all the Orangutan service techs (AC and plumbing ) have been great over the years, but Chris went above and beyond and my wife and I wanted to somehow thank him and let as many people as possible know how much we appreciate his effort to help us find a solution.
We were very pleased with the pricing and the install of two units. That was 3 years ago. Today (at 118 degrees) one unit isnt keeping it cool and I called and they are sending someone within 30 minutes. I dont know how I lucked out, but I appreciate it.

Got a home that had a pre-existing maintenance package. Since it was included with the home, I had them come do yearly maintenance on my units. They went around and checked the AC and seemed like normal maintenance. Every time they come, they sell. They always find a problem. Had an AC guy that I like come take a second look. He said the recommendations they gave me were wrong. My refrigerant was low even though there was no signs of a leak (they let too much out and didnt replace it after checking). To top all of it off, I found out that they replaced the AC units in the home a few years ago. They replaced one unit with the wrong size. I had multiple AC companies come and they all said the unit they put in was too large. The return does not get enough air and will burn out early. Orangutans response was that they were not responsible for sizing. They put a 4 ton unit in a space that is 900 sq ft. I gave them two stars because they are friendly but would never recommend their services to anyone.
We had Joe come and got things going just like that when others failed, there customer service is top knock, they return calls and dont stop till the customer is satisfied, that is priceless. AC issues these guys are the best 👌🙌😍

Some parts replacement were previously recommended as a result of our bi-annual inspection, so we decided to move forward in getting them done. We also have an existing maintenance agreement Orangutan. Joe Krelic, the technician, arrived as scheduled and completed the work as requested.

Worst company ever. Paid $10k for a brand new AC 3 years ago and still have 3 bedrooms in my house that get no cold air. Had them come out several times to find out what the problem is and they still haven’t fixed it. The last time they came out they said it would cost $1500 to take care of the problem. What I don’t understand is if my old ac got cold air to every room how is it the new one can’t.
Was scheduled for a plumbing checkup and ended up needing actual plumbing services for our RO system that was leaking for days! Needed to roll our appointment to the next day, which ended up being better timing for me. RO system was fixed and our toilet was also fixed, along with full checkup. Tech was on time, friendly and explained the details. So relieved!

TREVOR IS AMAZING! HE CAME IN AND IMMEDIATELY GOT TO WORK! He was extremely knowledgeable, and knew exactly what to do to help fix our AC issue. My boyfriend was outside with Trevor the entire time, and he explained in great detail exactly what he was doing, and why he was doing what needed to be done. Then he came inside and explained everything he did, but in a way that I could understand. (lol) Overall he was amazing! And so was Christina! One of the schedulers for the company, I called her and told her about our situation, and that both my boyfriend and I were very under the weather and that I will hopefully be getting my 5th surgery on Monday or Tuesday of next week. (I also confirmed that we were both covid free and were just tested two days ago). Christina was able to talk to her manager about our situation and get Trevor to come out this morning. Again we are both so very thankful for Christina, their GM, and Trevors help to fix our AC. When we end up needing to replace our AC, Orangutan Home Services will be who we call immediately! Again, thank you very much!!

I was charged $855 for a technician who spent a little over an hour to troubleshoot the problem and install less than $70 worth of parts (capacitors).I was shocked when I looked up the value of the cheap capacitors (I thought they must contain precious metals).They charged about $500 per hour and I didn’t get a doctor or even an attorney... Afterwards, I spent hours calling and calling and calling them. Eventually, Dave returned my calls and offered a whole $100 refund so I was only “ripped off” for a few hundred dollars.The technician fixed the problem but the workmanship was very poor. He has a capacitor mounted hanging by the wires. Another was mounted using electric tape (he didn’t have the correct parts so he wrapped the capacitor with lots of tape so it filled the mounting hole, instead of mounting it properly). This would have been acceptable for a temporary repair for a few days but obviously not for a permanent repair!Would you want a company like this working on your a/c with our Phoenix summers?...And ask if they’re licensed. I checked with the AZ Registrar of Contractors. License suspended, no bond.
Very pleased with the quick response in sending a serviceman to check our thermostat. Called in the morning and as there was one in the area (Joe) came out and took care of the problem.
Many very expensive years and all I got was quota driven sales tactics instead of quality maintenance with extremely inconsistent workmanship for my elderly parents home. I just paid to have their work corrected and had a competitor do it in disbelief. Don’t let these people near your home.
My technician Josh was on time and friendly while he performed maintenance on my AC unit and heater. Josh was professional and worked with flexibility around an important meeting that I had scheduled. Josh also explained the compressor problem with the AC and showed photos to help me understand. Josh then walked me through the benefits of the service agreements since mine had expired. My finances are challenging at this time due to personal circumstances, Josh took time to explain the benefits and the difference of services with their costs to me under the agreements. This really helped me to understand what package to purchase. Thank you Orangutan for employing such positive and professional technicians.
Weve had a service contract with Orangutan for several years. We had some issues in the early days, but understand the ownership has changed in recent years. Since that change, the level of service & professionalism has greatly improved. A recent issue was solved quickly even though the technician had an extremely busy schedule, but fit us in early one morning. We certainly appreciate the efforts they made for us.

After my 18 year old A/C Unit started slowly going bad, it was time for a new one. Lorenzo was our sales guy & he also checked everything out for me. The work was done yesterday. My new unit is great! It is cooling so much better & faster than my previous one & it is quieter! Maybe my neighbors will speak to me now? We still need time to see what money can be saved monthly & how quickly it will pay for itself, but we are confident this change was needed & will make our bills & our comfort levels at home nicer.The employees on this job have been on time, considerate & willing to leave the work space in the same clean condition they found it in. I was able to make a same day appointment to get my HVAC annual maintenance with a great Groupon price. The technician was great to work with, fixed a noisy fan blade and told me what I should do next to make sure we stay comfortable all year long. Our AC unit is on its last legs of life after 10 years in the Arizona heat so I was also provided with options for a new unit and care packages. Bonus points for sending photos of what he saw up there in the unit so I didn’t sound like an idiot trying to explain it to the spouse later that evening. I’ve saved their number and will continue calling Orangutan any time I need HVAC services.
Driving down the 60 west bound, have one of THIER techs driving speeding, 80+, cutting in front of others. If THIER techs dont care about YOU or your family enough to not putting peoples lives at risk, why would you trust them for anything else?? Box truck 731. Ive been a loyal, mostly happy customer for nearly a decade, but this last experience has ended that. After diagnosing that Id need a new coil and compressor (because I was sold a defective unit), they quoted me for the repairs at half the cost of a new unit because they forgot about my warranty. They made adjustments to include the warranty and more than doubled the charges to offset the savings. I was able to convince them to do the job for a reasonable rate, but it took going to management after the tech hung up on me. They appear to have done a good job with the repair, but I wont be using their services again.
I’ve had over 12 technicians come to my house to fix my ac over the last year, kept having same issues until Marcus came out and identified that my condensation box (which was poorly installed behind wall) had years of build up. He cleaned it out, moved it to a more accessible location and showed me how to clear it. Something the other 12 technicians were not able to diagnose. Very pleased and will use them again in the future.
I had orangutan install my ac unit and maintain it for the duration of the service contract. They never were able to get the overflow water sensor to work. After 2 visits to fix it I disconnected it. Later my ac broke and they did make it work while parts the correct parts were on order. But when coming back to fix it correctly, they took 3 trips before they came with the correct parts. Later, my ac broke again and they claimed that I needed thousands of dollars of repairs. I finally got smart and called a different ac company and they stated nothing that big was wrong and now 3 years later my ac is still working without the thousands of dollars of repair. The company will tell you that you need repairs when you do not need any repair. I would never recommend this company to anyone, even my worst enemy.The reply from the management to clear things up is typical orangutan game plan. They need to draw you back in with apologies. Similar to the cycle of an unhealthy relationship.
Omar came out and replaced a drip pan, also installing a kill switch. He was efficient, kind and did a nice job. I will definitely ask for him to return when I need service again.

A routine inspection determined a leaking coil on my 10yr old Trane system....so I upgraded to a 20seer Bosch system......I am very satisfied with the complete process from start to finish. The service rep Trevor was very knowledgable and the installer Alan dis an outstanding job. Give Trevor a call if you need a/c help.

The loss of an refrigeration during some of Phoenixs hottest days put real stress on getting a positive solution. Marcus McGill was the follow up technician and he correctly diagnosed the problem, solved it and got the needed parts ordered. Lori (hope I am spelling the name correctly) did an excellent job of ordering parts and keeping me informed as to our progress. We are grateful for the efforts of both and specifically want to recognize both Marcus and Lori for sticking with us during this time. I am very pleased with their efforts and appreciate all that was done.
The technician was awesome.he showed up on time about 2 hours after we called at 4 in the afternoon! Professional,polite, thorough, showed us the problem, quickly fixed it and told us how to avoid this ( rats are our wires) happening again . Our air conditioning was back on in no time

He showed us and explained all his meter readings, showing the unit is still functioning perfectly. Technician was extremely rude and actually recommended using another company to service my unit. I have felt nickel and dimed since last years motor replacement $500, this years capacitor $400, and not two months later the inner coils still under warranty are going to cost me $2211.60! Unbelievable but we are supposed to trust service providers.
As hot as it is the Orangutan installer was here on time and replaced our water heater. He was polite and made sure I understood exactly what was being done. Great service. Thank you so much.
My dads AC went out on 112 degree day. Knowing Orangutan was able to be there same day was great. I live out of state and knowing it was taken care of was a relief. The tech Joe even called me before and after!

Super friendly plumbers came to fix our extremely troublesome plumbing issue. They spent almost 4 hours fixing the issue and made a few trips out for whatever was needed. Didnt leave a huge mess either. Definitely recommend these guys!
Have had them to maintain my old unit. With new regulations We had them put in. New train heat and air. Fast install works great! And we are hoping for lower bills. We chose Train as our choice for both Heat and air.Came in on budget!

Had tech come out to repair my 15 year old unit and it was promptly done. My typical every 3 month filter change was the only preventive maintenance ever done and it paid off. Tech could have sold me a new unit knowing it was 15 years old, yet he stated why replace if it isnt broken, keep doing what youre doing. Thats what i appreciated most, he didnt try and sell me what i didnt need, because i was ready to have to buy one. Thanks a bunch.
Weve had a contract with Orangutan since they were part of Home Depot. Service really depends on your technician. The guy who came last week was great . Its extremely annoying when they try and sell you stuff. That happens 9/10 x. Tbh in the valley its 1/2 dozen of one, 6 of the other, when it comes to HVAC.
Everyone was very nice and professional. Weve been with Orangutan for more than 10 years and have never been disappointed with the service.

Joey M. was fantastic! We just bought the house and he talked us though some of the things we should know and care about as he service checked the equipment. He was very informative and responsive to our questions. It was good value for what was done and he was punctual and qualified.
Ive used Orangutan for over 10 years, and have been moderately pleased. I stay with them because of warranty issues, and service plans. I have advantage plans now on a new water heater, and a new A/C unit. This is a monthly payment that includes the units, and the service plans. I will not pay for anything else, because of the advantage plan Im paying for. They are great about calling you about service, so you dont void warranties. They always have polite techs. For the most part they are responsive to service calls, but scheduled maintenance checks have gotten canceled multiple times before. What is the point of being a VIP member if they keep canceling. Overall Ive dealt with worse, so Im happy.
I had new insulation blown into my attic. Chris was the man! He was very very nice and explained things well to me. I feel that he went over and above with his job. He showed me pictures and I was quite impressed! His helper was also pleasant and they seem to work well together. The lady who called me to confirm my appointment was also pleasant and answered my questions. Everyone was professional and seem to like their jobs.
Josh (tech) was here today and did a thorough service of our dual pack unit. He also thoroughly cleaned the filter with a foaming cleaning agent. This has never been done before. He advised that Service Experts has acquired Orangutan and that service is their top priority. Josh is very personable, professional and knowledgeable. We are looking forward to having Josh service our unit in the future.
We have been an Orangutan customer for a lot of years. We had a Bosch AC unit installed three years ago. Had a young man named Carlos come to our home today to do a semi annual service our AC unit. It was his first visit to our home. He examined the unit and immediately found problems that previous techs either totally missed or never hooked it up correctly in the first place. He was extremely professional, very knowledgeable. One procedure that had never been preformed on our unit before. Pumping out the drain line from the inside unit. We were happy with Trevor who showed up on time to do our service. He was clean and personable. After inspecting our HVAC, he showed the video of our unit and explained clearly the problems which we knew were getting worse and offered the Advantage monthly payment plan including replacement of our unit quickly. All our questions were answered to our satisfaction until we fully understood the program. As long time customers of Orangutan, we have always been satisfied with the techs. and plumbers who have done work at our home.
Very polite, clean and knowledgeable. Took the proper precautions in this new world of COVID19 to ensure he was safe as well as I. Wore proper gloves, face mask and shoe covers. Explained the process, completed the process and went over the notes of my system.
The company called to make an appt for bi-annual check. Have been with them for over 2 decades. Joe showed me exactly why I needed a new unit. Joe is one of their best service people. Big on customer service in every way. Got the unit installed the very next day. Had a couple issues, which were promptly resolved the next day by the right people. Could not have received better service. The company employees really care about their customers! Kudos to all involved.
72 hours of phone tag. 16 hours of arguing over a warranty. 8 hours of misdirection by the owner of the business giving me telephone numbers that are not associated with his company or any construction company. This is truly the most unprofessional company I have ever had to deal with. It is absolutely disgusting that those people in charge of letting businesses stay open allow this business to stay open they are a fraud.

We have been with Orangutan for many years and their service is always stellar. Their recent visit was no different. Ulysses replaced a faucet in the backyard water source and would not stop working until the job was completed perfectly.
The install guys kept me informed of any delays. They were efficient with installation of heat pump, spent time showing me how to set new thermostat, were courteous and cleaned up all the trash when they were done. Great job!
Technician shared pictures from my roof of HVAC unit which I purchased from this company 4 years ago. A new part was required to improve efficiency of unit. It was installed quickly and will hopefully solve the problem.
Absolutely the most rude owner of any company Ive had to deal with overpriced poor quality not professional not very responsive its a very poor value and after 14 calls somebody showed up on their own schedule and left a note on my door that I missed my appointment. Nobody should ever hire this company.

The technician who serviced my A/C did not have a face mask precluding me from having a meaningful Interaction about the repair. I had the repair done out of an abundance of caution but would have preferred to have been shown exactly what I was paying for.
This company is the worst! When our A/C went out a few years ago, they replaced our unit. We wanted a 5 ton Trane installed, our house requires 5 ton. They gave us a song and dance how a Trane would not fit and installed a cheaper version called Night and Day. We were desperate, agreed to a few hundred dollars off since it was not a Trane.Every inspection, we have complained that our Electric Bill rises several hundred dollars during the summer. Every technician has staged that it cannot be the A/C, it is in good shape.After tiring of high electric bills, I have had two other companies come out to do an assessment. Both found that Orangatan lied and put a 4 ton unit, instead of a 5 ton as needed.Now the President of the company will not return my calls. They completely ripped us off and lied about what they installed. I will make sure nobody within a 5 mile radius of my neighborhood ever uses their service. They should have fixed their error rather than avoiding their mistake. Never trust this company, they will rip you off!
Orangutan recently replaced two AC units at our home and did a great job for us. We also needed to have some additional work done and their service team was exceptionally responsive, prompt, and very professional. They resolved our issues and the system is working even better at this point.An additional shout out to our technician who went above and beyond in diagnosing and resolving our current issues. He did a fantastic job explaining the issue and making us comfortable with what needed to be done.Thank you Orangutan!
Ive been with Orangutan Home Services since they used to be known as American Home Maintenance. Ive been their customer over 10 years now. Their name is unique and their quality in workmanship is outstanding. They service my plumbing, heating and air conditioning including my ductwork throughout my home. I recently had a financial problem and the office worked with me in a friendly, timely and courteous matter. I have been in the past and in this situation was very impressed and grateful. I would highly recommend this company without hesitation. Feb. 2020.
I personally had a horrible experience with Orangutan Home Services. They are obviously quota or commission driven and motivated by greed. I definitely WOULD NOT recommend this company.
Technician Carlos completed the 6 mo inspection of my A/C and heat unit. It was the most thorough inspection in 4 years. A very nice young man. I am very pleased with the new Orangutan.
The last time I used them, I was scheduled for a window between 8 am and noon. No one showed up and they did not have the courtesy to call to cancel or say they were behind. This was not the first time this has happened. I gave them my business for over 20 years. No more! They are dead to me.
