I was greeted at the door by the owner John right away. Michelle took me and really took her time with my haircut. John and his family were leaving to go to dinner but stayed to offer and enjoy a glass of wine with me. I felt welcome, cared for, and part of their family. I would absolutely recommend.

My husband and I went to see Mercedes, shes working in a great environment. Really had Great Haircuts. Shes the best. Great location. Manager is a delight came over and said hello and welcome to us and said to come back. Southern hospitality!

*Update* They now accept credit/debit cards for payment!I have been going to John for 16 years. This is a real barber shop and every barber there can cut hair, not just slap a guide on clippers and go. Amarilys is great too. It can get busy on Saturdays so through the week is better. Remember they follow the normal tradition and are not open Mondays.

The ONLY place I go. I like the owner John to cut my hair but sometimes hes not there. Hes the only one I let shave me. Hes really good with a straight razor!

My hair is styled at medium length all around, a tad longer on top, tapered at the very bottom. Apparently just a trim means going up the entire side and back of my head with a clipper. Moreover, he shaved the right side of my head higher than the left! I wanted to give this place a chance given the reviews, but I was wrong.1) Do not trust a barber who turns you around so you cant see what hes screwing up in the mirror.2) Do not trust a barber whos primary tool is a clipper. A truly skilled barber knows how to blend hair with a comb & shears. Clippers are for buzz cuts, fades, and amateurs.I HAD medium length hair. I said just a trim. Why on Earth would a barber assume that means a high fade?You get what you pay for, hence the 2nd star.

Only time in my life I can think of asking someone to stop cutting my hair (three times no less). Very nice lady so it was unfortunate, but did not listen. Asked to have the just top cut as the sides were cut too short last time. She ran a buzzer up the side of my head and told me its what I asked for...

My barber was high and or drunk. I think it was his first day (leeroy). He literally was eating during my haircut. That should be enough of a statement about this place. I asked to have a trim up of my beard, he didnt do that but instead shaved my neck poorly. Didnt listen to what I wanted.. I ended up looking like I asked a 10 year old to cut my hair. I walked out side where I saw another employee where I told her my thoughts about him and she denied the fact that he was under the influence, and did nothing about it. I drove to a different barber shop to fix the screw up this guy made. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place.

I’ve been here twice and so far they haven’t disappointed. They listen to how I want my hair without question and are very thorough.

This is the best place for a man to get an exceptional haircut in South Tampa. Like in the old days you pay cash to your Barber. this year it is the 10th year I visited the shop yesterday. Thank you John

Out of all the barbershops Ive been to in Tampa, the culture, expertise, and quality this place has always amazes me. Whether its amazing conversation or a A+ haircut, this place never falls short of excellence.
