Best experience I have had with a tow service after 50 years of driving! The driver was helpful and efficient after the accident, and the clerk at the tow yard was very helpful. The yard was clean and nearly empty, so they dont seem to be doubling as a junk yard. The bag of street sweepings was sitting on the hood when we arrived, and we were able to find the silver spoons in it that slipped out of a bag that was going to be delivered to our daughter that day. We forgot to check the ceiling compartment when we removed things from our car, so I went back to check at the end of the day. The clerk cheerfully gave me the keys and I was able to retrieve the spare pair of glasses.

They lurk around looking to tow innocent people who are unaware a parking pass on necessary or that visitor parking is available in complexes. Parked for an hour checking on sick friend, came out car gone. I saw no signs posted at the entrance or in the parking lot, extremely dark area.

Got towed from Aqua Club and got my car back with dents. The only was they have a 2.3 is that their rude employee puts 5 star reviews. They messed up my car and I now have 3 dents that weren’t there before. Cant wait to take them to court

Towed my boyfriends car from my apartment complex and the car wasn’t even there one night so they clearly had nothing better to do. Drove 20 minutes to get the car from the towing place and it’s in the middle of nowhere. We get there and the lady was not very friendly. And thanks to them I missed an important class that day. And when my boyfriend got his car back, the AC wasn’t working so they obviously messed that up too

I’m a resident at the Azalea dorm at FSU and they towed my car because they didn’t think I was a resident and I was forced to pay $110 upfront or I would be charged more. As a college student, that type of money is not something that comes easy. The lady at the front desk was rude and acted uninterested in helping me during the process. Like many other college students, I had the unfortunate circumstance of having to deal with Hobkirk towing. Any chance that Hobkirk can charge a college student 100+ dollars, they will absolutely take it. Not only do they exploit college parking rules to charge hundreds of dollars to the Tallahassee area students, but will treat you like a sub-human when you try to get your car back. They understand that you have no other choice than to pay to get your car back and do not care about anything but your card running through the machine. In addition to everything else Hobkirk towing associates left a significant amount of damage on my car from when they towed it and refused to take responsibility for it. Expect nothing more than people who understand how they are taking advantage of young college students and brute forcing people into paying. If you have any opportunity to not do business with Hobkirk towing do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

They have a system with local apartments where they tow you from your apartment and make you pay anyways I was not given a parking detail at my apartments the hub Tallahassee and this is what happened so I wake up when I have things to do to my car being gone this sounds like a scam with the apartments and the company and I asked so this happens often they reply well yes we tow cars from there often sounds like a scam if you do the math we are going to see what happens when my office opens at my apartment complex the hub I will be leaving a review again

Most people do not read google reviews for a tow company BEFORE they get towed, but it is critical that everyone record their interactions with Hobkirk whenever possible. If you read reviews for Hobkirk on any platform (google, Yelp, BBB, etc.), there is a recurring theme of grotesque unprofessionalism that can be classified as verbal, and sometimes physical, assault. When picking up your vehicle or interacting with them at all, subtly record your interactions for your own protection.

They are extremely professional and I highly recommend any property or business to use their services. Hobkirk is a company that knows their industry and does it well. They are firm, yet understanding and have an overall good value for what they offer.

This towing company is an absolute disaster. Not only are they big on preying on college students, they have some of the worst staff imaginable. One of the supervisors in particular was not only a bully to a nineteen year old girl, myself, but told me that I should drop out of college because I have no common sense. He also said that he had no issue in exploiting college students for predatory towing, and he originally attempted to overcharge me for my vehicle. When asking questions about the break down of the price, he started to demean me and patronize me by questioning my intelligence. He told me that he was glad I was paying his bills and boasted about how he makes more than a college student with a degree, as if he had some animosity towards students in school. There is no way a company who has a staff member who seems to be spiteful toward college students should be used in student housing. It is absolutely frustrating, and the encounter that I had with him really ruined my night. There are other companies in Tallahassee that can do the same job, but with better staff members and better intentions. This place honestly deserves zero stars.

I would give a zero if I could. Horrible to deal with. Daughters car was towed still determining why. Regardless, that is not the complaint! Thankfully she took her boyfriend with her to a sketchy site in the middle of nowhere at night . The guy was rude. In addition, my husband and I had called to asked for him to show her a picture. When she waited thirty minutes for someone to come to the office. He stated to them upon entering in a mean tone who is the owner of the car? She replied I am, he said you, come with me, her and her boyfriend began to follow to a room, after they entered, he shut the door on my daughters boyfriend so he could not go with them. He took my daughter into a closed room at 930 at night. She called me immediately after this. I called him and he stated that he did not touch her. I said, I did not accuse you of that. You took a female in a room and shut the door, he admitted loudly several times that he did take her into this room and shut the door. ( I had him on speaker phone). He said, it is a secure office and no one is to enter. So, I asked why couldnt you just leave the door open. He then blew up at me and said you must be a damn Democrat! I said sir my political beliefs have nothing to do with my daughters safety! I told him that he scared her, and by the way I am a conservative Republican. He hung up .Do not let a female go out there alone. I would not let anyone go out there alone. I called to report to this to the complex the car was towed from and even the girl answering the phone had a scary experience with them.

This is the worst company in the world. They simply prey on college students to make their money. Also, they will BULLY you. If you want to take pictures of your car in their yard you will not be allowed to because they simply know that they are liable for any damages. This is the rudest company ever. Towed me from in front of my own apartment building During this covid 19 pandemic. The country is in a state of emergency people aren’t charging some for rent and not cutting utilities off, but yet tow companies think it’s a good idea to tow cars that may take people and their Children to the doctor and go to their essential jobs and provide medicine for the people towing me. On top of that my inhaler was in the car and had to ask my neighbor at 4 am to take me fire dep for a albuterol treatment because I have asthma attacks frequently due to pollen

My car was involved in a wreck. Hobkirk was on scene before the cops were! They stayed with me and waited until the cops showed up and cleared the scene. They stored my car for 10 days, until insurance decided to come pick it up and take it to the body shop. During this endeavor, they kept in contact regarding status of my vehicle. The whole team at Hobkirk were so professional and understanding :)

So these people towed my car from Burt Reynolds Hall where I am a resident. Before getting hung up on I was explaining my situation to the guy on the phone and he rudely hung up on me and told me its not his problem and Id have to pay the $150.00 towing fee. So I went ahead and paid the fee with my credit card, but then called my bank and disputed the charge as being unauthorized! So in the long run they thought they had the last laugh but really I did, because I got my money back HAHAHAH in your FACEE!!!!!

I would give them no stars if I could. The only way they make money is towing innocent college students vehicles in the dead middle of night. If it was not for that they would not be able to make any money. The least you all could do is not charge the students so much to get there vehicles back.

I was standing next to my car while a tow truck sped through the parking lot. Kelvin, the driver, hooked up my car as I asked why it was being towed. He spoke nearly incomprehensible English and was rude. He lifted the front end of the car and demanded 55 dollars to put it back down. I will be contacting the complex to request a reimbursement. Horrendous experience overall.

Honestly, this place would deserve no stars, but the person I dealt with was reasonably polite. Doesnt change that the other employees were disrepectful and kept incoherently blathering at me and getting flippant when I didnt understand him. And it certainly doesnt warrant these Jackals holding my car for ransom for no absolute reason.

Hobkirk Towing damaged my car, which is less than a month old. They denied any responsibility. It is not possible this was not caused by them because of the angle at which damage took place. I am taking them to small claims.

Vehicle died in traffic while towing a trailer. Hobkirk was there in 10-12 minutes and had the vehicle loaded and trailer hooked up in another 5. Took the trailer and the vehicle to different destinations quickly and efficiently. Driver was courteous and friendly. Highly recommended.

Worst service ever. They will make up charges and pretend you owe them more than you do. They dont care what the situation was all they want is your money. I went there to pick up my car and they lied to me about the fee to go get something out of it to rip me off. They were very rude to me even though I tried to be civil when Im the one who was confused. The signs were not clear. Sorry that their job isnt a fun one, but they still need to do better at it. One star is as low as I could go but if I could do less they would get -5 stars. Maybe Im bitter because my car got towed but also, they are rude. No matter what time of day you go to get your car they dont care they will intentionally rip you off. Its what they are known for. Good luck if you get towed, friends.

I’d like to say thank College Town for not letting me down in this area.The guy who towed my truck wouldn’t tell me his name when I called and was extremely rude as you expect tow truck drivers to be. When i arrived to pick my truck up nobody was present. So, I called and the guy who towed my truck, turns out he was also the receptionist. Parking in Tallahassee is some of the worst I’ve seen in the country for a city of it’s size.I hope hobkirk can start operating in a professional manner or they may lose some large upcoming contracts. Wish this was a joke!

If there was a zero star option that is what i would give them. they are so awful and rude. they towed me from my apartment complex where i live because apparently i parked in “reserved” parking. that was the only spot open and i pay monthly for parking. when i asked the guy at the front where i should park he refused to answer my question and kept telling me i couldn’t park there. he had no manners and was extremely rude every time i asked a legitimate question.

Love that the reason my car was towed was for not having a decal NOT IN VISITOR PARKING when I was clearly in a spot marked visitor. I saw three more cars get towed from the visitors area while waiting for a cab. I think this is probably more of the apartment complexs doing than the company... but that being said one of the drivers was incredibly nasty, purposely swerved a little to hit my friend with the back of his car and flipped us off (professional). Several of the people at the office are nice but its hard to really care when theyre ripping you off.

I wish there was an option to give zero stars and still provide a review. Hobkirk towed my car from my apartment in an appropriate spot and with a parking decal! They would not relinquish the car without payment despite them towing my car in error. Staff was incredibly unhelpful and unwilling to accept their mistake. I have retained documentation and pictures. They will be contacted by my family lawyer.

I have been living at my apartment complex for two years now, so I know how strict they are on parking and towing. My complex tows all day so i know to always have friends/family put a pass in their car regardless of how long theyll be there. I bought a new car at the beginning of this month and made sure I put the pass in my window the first night until my leasing office opened and I could get a new parking sticker, unfortunately the pass fell off my dash (its slanted and the pass in plastic) and was therefore no longer visible to the tow truck driver...long story short my new car was towed. I contacted my apartment complex and the tow truck place to let them know that I had put the pass in my car because I know the strict towing rules. My apartment contacted them as well and let them know that I was a two year resident that had never had a towing issue. The owner offered to cut the price in half due to my apartment calling on my behalf. He met my mom and I at the lot, I was worried he was going to be extremely rude after reading the reviews on here, he was very nice and understanding. I even showed him the pass in my car.Tow truck drivers are just doing their jobs, I put my pass in the incorrect place and therefore got towed. The owner and his employees are very nice, understanding people.

Apartments might want to think of another company. Bad for your business, and rude to your own customers.Towed me from my apt garage while moving into my apt (parked for 30-45 min). That’d make anyone angry, but it’s their job and at least they didn’t try to overcharge me.The one star is because they’re unprofessional. They make sloppy quick tows with skid-marks on the pavement, because they’re trying so hard to not have to relinquish the car to the owners for half price or less.The guy on the phone hung up on my grandmother when she was concerned and asking if the tires were ok because the skid marks were 3 car lengths long. Guy later lied about it and then follows it up with stuff like “who are you? (To lie to). You’re not my mom or my boss.” Ok... I just want my car...Difficult to work with, confrontational, and don’t seem to care about apartment property or the cars. On my way out I saw two tow trucks doing donuts in the lot. Whole experience should have been on one of those reality TV shows honestly.

Absolutely atrocious company. I talked to an employee and he was rude and incredibly unprofessional. He gave me a problem when I asked to speak to his supervisor and then claimed he was the supervisor. He said “ma’am” about 20 times to cut me off as I was in the middle of the conversation and was incredibly dismissive. He hung up the phone on me while I was talking to him and I was appalled that an employee would have the audacity to hang up on a customer. The own “supervisor” of this tow company was nasty on the phone and hung up on me when I asked for the number of someone higher up; I would give this business zero stars if I could. It’s impossible to find an actual supervisor’s number for this poorly run business, and apparently it’s impossible for them to find competent, professional employees as well.

Towed a handicap car! Then broke into the car to put the handicap sign into the glove compartment (where it’s never been)When on the phone they said the car was towed because it was taking up 2spots. Saying they had photo prof that the car was taking up 2 spots, which it wasn’t...people were on either sides of the car parked all nice. Did not show any photos. They then wanted to say the car was towed for a different reason once at the told place🙄

This towing company is by far the most corrupt business in Tallahassee. Absolutely despicable business, that I wish would get into the legal trouble they deserve. Several occasions they have moved vehicles, including my boyfriends car, then claimed it was there the whole time when they towed it. They even tried to tow him while he was making a delivery as a driver, with a topper on his car and all, when he had only went up the stairs to hand the customer their order for less than five minutes and was not parked illegally. Something needs to be done about this horrendous company and their corrupt practices. They lie and cheat and rip off college students and Tallahassee residents alike. Bills bookstore on FSUs campus is connected to Dunkin Donuts. There is a parking lot also connected to both. I read the Tow Away Zone signs and parked there because I was going to Dunkin Donuts, which I of course assumed the lot was for, given there are no other parking areas that could be assumed to belong to Dunkin. I went in, purchased a coffee, and returned less than 5 minutes later to find my car hooked up and about to be towed away. I explained I only went into the business connected to the lot, not elsewhere on campus which I am sure is the purpose of the tow company. Apparently, that lot is ONLY for Bills. There are no signs that indicated that Dunkin Donuts patrons need to park across campus to get a coffee. They apologized but I had to pay $44 for them to release my car. These guys need some common sense and basic human morality. Sure, everyone needs to make a living but we dont use that sentiment to justify Drug Dealers. I dont know how they sleep at night. Disgusting business, disgusting employees.

Drivers blocked us in as soon as we parked jumped out and were extremely aggressive and tried to intimidate us. One worker asked us if we were flipping them birds. We obviously werent it wasnt even our car that got towed. When we told him we werent he chuckled and said yeah right. I wish I wasnt forced to deal with people like them.

Borrowed a friends car so I could lend him my truck. Went ahead and put a copy of my parking decal on the windshield and even typed and taped a letter to the dashboard stating that this was a loaner vehicle and I was the owner of the reserved spot. Had a decal on my car for residential parking and was towed by them 20 minutes after parking. Girlfriend was also towed by them when she was parked in a visitors spot a few months ago and a visitors parking pass wasnt needed. Scratches on her back bumper showed up after the towing that didnt show on the pictures they took before towing not the car. They denied they did any damage and acted as if we were victimizing them and bullying them after being sarcastic to us and making it seem like were stupid and that somebody hit the car while it was parked at the lot. BUT REFUSED TO SHOW US VIDEO OF THE NIGHT THE AR WAS THERE! Little Bs. All they do is scam people and take their money. Hobkirk towing is the worst towing company in Florida. Nobody likes them and I plan to make a boycott for my complex. Hobkirk can suck it.
