I had a great experience. Bob is the best if you ask me. He put a new transmission in my infinity truck. I say hes the best because he did his Job and he didnt rigge my truck for me to come back and spend. Pluse you dont pay until to pick up your vehicle.

2ndEdit: For the people calling me out saying that I’m “lying”, why did Bob and his wife not tell the police that I was lying when I called them 10 minutes after the incident? It’s all in the case already. My google review is to help others avoid a nasty situation, not to hurt the business; Bob’s actions did that. You guys can try to bully me down because I am young but no one else was there aside from Bob, his wife, and I, and only us 3 and the security cameras know the full story. If you want, I can include you in the lawsuit for defamation as well since you are victim blaming, isolating, and making the situation worse :) you will not silence myself or my voice.Busted out the plastic on my center console when fixing a gearbox issue and then when I tried to show him the pieces they claimed it wasn’t their problem. (Take a look at the photos for yourself. The entire back/side is broken to bits and the top/front is all cracked into smaller pieces. And they said they received it like that despite “working” in that exact spot due to it being a shifter problem. Yeah, right.) To top it all off, as I was leaving Bob proceeded to chase me down in the parking lot because I “slammed the door” screaming obscenities, towering over me, a 19 year old girl, and made me feel as if my life was in danger. If his wife hadnt stepped in I fully believe I would’ve been put in the hospital. This man is a danger to all his customers and I advise you to either get your car fixed somewhere else or come prepared with pepper spray.Edit: flooded their reviews with 5 stars just now to make their rating go up to 4.0! Do not trust these people. Horrible mechanics, abusers, and now scammers too!

Brought transmission to them to rebuild. Totally rebuilt picked up Installed myself. Transmission ran about 32tital of 24 hours before it completely would not go into any gear and left me stranded.called and said I needed to bring ng truck to then or remove the transmission for them to look at. Got truck to them and said 750 to remove a d install after qoting me 1000 to just put in first. Here it is almost 2.5 weeks later no truck to ride in or my business out if and told them that. Poor service and not worried about customer when fault is on them . I could see if 3 months down rd this happen but 1200 dollars and only last a day if driving

My Jeep Wrangler turned 102,000 miles so I knew repairs were not far away. My transmission started to shift poorly and with a loud noise when shifting into reverse. I called several transmission shops in three different cities. There was just something about Karl, the owner of Bobs, that I really liked. I was prepared for bad news. Karl had my Jeep diagnosed with bad transmission codes and fixed a bad rear tail light. I pulled out my credit card to pay Karl and he said no charge. Im still scarred from the bad experience I received from this place. This business is in a college town and preys on young college students that do not know any better.Please please please for the love of God, do not go to this place. Unethical, and no morals. You will ce with problems and leave with more problems.I wish they understood Karma is real. This shop is by far the best I have ever been to! The owners are so kind and such down to earth people! It is a true family owned business. I have no clue when it comes to vehicles, and The two owners were so kind and respectful helping me with everything. My last car I brought to them I had to take it once and they fixed everything perfectly. My new car they did the same with. I have always had such a great experience here. I will always bring my vehicles here and recommend to everyone. I have had so many people recommend this shop to me. The Owners are so funny and are very humble people.

Highly recommended! Had a new valve body installed here and vehicle back up and running great. Karl and his associates were very knowledgable and helpful in thoroughly answering all my questions. They also made a great effort in working with the shop I had a warranty with, even though the other shop had a terrible owner. They were very patient in this process and never gave me a hard time about my vehicle sitting around while the other shop took way too long to respond. Thank you Karl and gang!

Every time I go to a dealership or a chain operated auto service I am reminded how much I miss my small town, down-to-earth shop. The service I received at Bob’s while I was a student there was wonderful. Karl was very knowledgeable and never tried to sell me something I didn’t need, which was very refreshing being someone that knows nothing about cars. Carl was the best !! I took my car to Nissan and they told me that I had to buy a whole new transmission. After looking at bobs transmissions reviews I decided to take my car to them and found out that all I needed was some transmission fuel. They didnt take advantage because they saw I was a female student and I was alone like Nissan did. I recommend them 100000000%!

Took my truck in to see about a possible transmission problem. Karl checked it out, diagnosed the real problem (not the transmission), and gave me recommendations for the fix. Excellent customer service. Glad I didnt need it today, but when I do need transmission work done Im going back to Bobs Transmission. Highly recommend.

I was there when she got her car fixed and they were trying to be cooperative with her and she kept cussing at them and being very rude and racist. They fixed her car perfect and she broke some of her interior trim and tried blaming it on this fine establishment. Don’t believe the lies this place is great. Will come back in the future

Bobs was great to deal with. They shopped around to get the best price on the replacement parts. Also, even with having to pull out my entire dashboard and remove the front bumper, they had the repair done in no time. The guys there really know what theyre doing!

I want to thank Carl and crew at Bobs for their honesty. My daughter and I brought in her car. It turns out, the transmission fluid was just extremely low. They didnt try to manufacture any issues and didnt even charge me for the fluid! When I have any transmission issues...or even questions, Ill be going back to Bobs! Thanks guys!

I had a 98 Volkswagen Cabrio and I needed some work done. Nobody else in town knew how to go about it. Karl, the owner, knew exactly what to do at a decent price!

Brought in my antique Mercedes 300D for some routine maintenance, got it back with a damaged and dirty interior, and the A/C belt gone. After asking around I found out that Bob practices a lot of disgusting business tactics. Short-term gain for long-term consequences Bob, tsk tsk. To keep things brief:1. He shorts employees paychecks and strategically schedules them to work just under 40 hrs a week so he wont have to insure them.2. Turnover rate is stupidly high. Go in there twice, a week apart, and odds are youll find a change in employees.3. Bob requires his employees to write fake 5 star reviews here on Google. If they dont hell hound them until they do or just fire them on the spot, depending on his mood.4. Hes confrontational with customers, ie if you discover a mistake, it will never be owned up to and hell either come up with a litany of excuses as to why he failed, or deny his failures outright.5. If god forbid you criticize his work while your car is still in the shop, odds are it will sit outside in the weather for weeks not being worked on, and most likely be returned damaged when the work is finally completed.6. Finally, and worst of all, he HIRES PRIVATE INVESTIGATORS TO GET DIRT ON DISSATISFIED CUSTOMERS. Then he uses that dirt in his mandated fake 5 star reviews to doxx and discredit anyone who dares call him out.Overall, not worth the risk of damage to your automobile, stress of handling Bobs moods, or attacks on your personal reputation. AVOID AT ALL COSTS AND DO NOT BELIEVE THE 5 STAR REVIEWS.As a precaution, there are very high chances Bob will try to doxx me and/or force his trolls to discredit me and/or respond to this review denying I ever was his customer. DO NOT BELIEVE HIS LIES.

I have brought my SUV to Bobs on several occasions and they have surpassed all of my expectations. When I was in need of a quick check and the bays were full, he looked at the vehicle in the parking lot. Not only did they make time for my vehicle to get checked out, but they also beat every price in town when I got my transmission repaired.

Was having transmission problems and took my car to Bobs because of the good reviews on Google. As a result of the excellent service I received, Ive also decided to write a review. I went in distressed about a leak in my transmission. Im a student and, needless to say, replacing the transmission would be out of my budget. I came in to Bobs thinking I was going to have to sell my car for scraps but instead left with my car working like new. I didnt have to get a new transmission like I initially thought and ended up paying literally 1/10th of what I was expecting to have to pay. The mechanics were all nice, honest, and most of all RESPECTFUL. Definitely recommend them.

Back in April or so we had our transmission rebuilt at Bobs. Its never fun spending a lot of money on your vehicle, but they were very easy to work with and very honest. I would recommend Bobs to anyone!

Bobs transmission saved me money, plain and simple. Went in thinking I needed a new clutch or at least a new part. All they did was an adjustment and it shifts like new. They charged me ZERO dollars. All time best tranny shop EVER!

Dont judge this place by the high star rating. Took my 1985 Ford F-250 from Panama City to Tallahassee for a major rebuild of rear differential, install new wheel bearings and replace the U-Joints at the differential and the Transmission ends. 4 days later the U-Joint at the transmission end blew off. The arms which insert into the Yoke had the caps completely missing.Talking with Carl his argument boiled down to Were not perfect and S*^t Happens. That might be a good argument if an amateur such as myself was doing the job but these guys were supposed to be the Pros and this was a simple error in installation of some type. Im also wondering if they used the wrong U-Joint as the part number on the Bill for the U-joint was 7003A and I can not find this as a U-joint used on a 1985 F-250 at the transmission end in any references. In any case this was something that should not have happened to Professionals. Very Disappointed. Lesson Learned: High star rating can not be trusted. Second lesson learned: High star rated Businesses fall back on the same old excuses as used by a 1 star rated place when confronted with an error on their part. And this was an error on their part either in improper installation or the incorrect part. Caps on new U-Joints just do not come off after 4 days

I stopped by Bobs when I was having trouble with my car overheating. They were very quick to diagnose my car, and pinpoint any other problems with it. I know they are a transmission shop but they have fixed a few minor things on my car all for very low costs. Ive been to other places that I had later learned overcharged me for work I had done, but Bobs has always given me a fair price for any work Ive had done there. The staff is small but great. Would recommend Bobs to anyone with transmission problems or any other issues. If they cant fix it they can definitely refer you to someone who can. Awesome business!!!!!

We are from British Columbia, Canada and were traveling with our Dodge pickup towing our 5th wheel RV. Our truck was developing some nasty rear end noises and we were unable to find a shop that could take us in or that we felt comfortable with. Since we were headed from SC to Pensacola and then West, I Googled shops in Tallahassee, FL. Thank goodness Bobs Transmission popped up and the reviews were excellent. We called from Albany, GA and were there in a couple of hours, arriving before noon. Karl was awesome! His confidence made us feel certain that we were in good hands. The guys did a fabulous job and we were allowed to park our 5th wheel in their parking lot for the duration. Everyone in the shop was very friendly and helpful, service was superb and our bill was exactly what they said it would be. Thank you Bobs Transmission!

I took my Acadia over to Bobs Transmission and had Karl look it. He recognized that it was most likely a broken wave plate in the transmission. While they could repair the transmission,he instead directed me to GMC b/c it is a known issue. GMC has a special warranty out for this problem on certain year/models of the Acadia that would be fully covered. Karl was friendly, knowledgeable and didnt try to rip me off! He did not charge me for the diagnostic and directed me to dealer and hopefully it will be covered and save me $3k. Check them out, you wont be disappointed!!

I have been waiting to write this review!Prior to choosing this place I looked at the reviews which seemed great and the fact they have been in business for 30 years or more. So I decided to go with this shop.Without going into too detail, my experience at Bobs transmission was horrible!I have never in life experienced such unfriendly people and horrible customer service!I took my car to Bobs transmission on January 08, 2016.Karl stated the transmission needed to be rebuilt and that it would take about three days.Since the first time dropping the car off at Bobs it has been back to this shop over three times, do tothe car not running properly. First time car went back to Bobs was the same day I picked it up from the shop. On January 14, 2016 Karl called and said my vehicle was ready for pickup.I walked into the shop and his wife handed me the warranty to sign. Before signing I was trying to read through it since it was very lengthy. After signing Karl and his wife stated I needed to bring the car back in for a two week seal and leak check, just to ensure that there is no leakage. The wife stated it should only take about 15 minutes. I said ok. Karl then stated the car will be jerking a little for about a week until it reprogrammed itself or got use to me driving it with the “rebuild”. I said OK, but it’s drive-able and it’s not jerking real bad correct? Karl stated correct. As I drove off it wasn’t a smooth ride, but as Karl stated it would jerk a little bit. After driving from the shop, to lunch and to get gas from Sam’s no smooth ride but ok. After leaving Sam’s and getting on capital circle to head back to work the car “stalled”. Meaning when the light turned green and I started pressing the accelerator the car wasn’t moving, it started going in reverse, smoking, RPMS going up to 4 and back down to 1. I had to put it in park then back in drive in order for the car to move, barely making it back to my job.As soon as I returned to my office I called the shop. I explained to Karl what happened and I didn’t feel safe driving the car back down to his shop therefore he needed to come get it. He stated it would be a fee of $65 to come tow it and maybe more depending on how far it was from the shop.I said to him are you kidding me? Which according to Bobs website they TOW FREE OF COST WITH MAJOR WORK BEING DONE TO THE VEHICLE!More parts were supposedly reordered .. I was never told what was ordered other than clutches.Remember this was after the car had been taken back to the shop.Yes, clutches! Im not the smartest person in the world, but I do know that the clutches are located in the transmission. So if indeed the transmission was rebuilt why werent the clutches replaced doing the rebuild?The warranty on a transmission rebuild is amazing, and not in a good way.It seemed to me they tried to put every stipulation in the warranty that would cover their ass in the instance something went wrong with the car.I asked for receipts on parts ordered or a write down of things done to my car since it has been taken back to the shop several times.Karl stated they dont give out receipts. Really? So i asked well can you write down want parts were replaced after bringing the car back from the first initial day? Karl stated they dont usually do this.The wife stated they stand behind their warranty. Which means what?No receipt was given, no notations made on the paperwork after taking the car back for the first seal and leak check.The warranty is only good for 12000 miles or a year whichever comes first.They refused to change the date of completion and change the mileage. Being that the car had been driven by both the shop and me I feel the mileage shouldve been changed.I just pray to God that the transmission was truly REBUILT!Oh yeah total cost of rebuild was $2698.44 .

I originally took my 2008 Silverado to Dale Earnhardt Jr. Buick GMC Cadillac. My 130 dollar diagnosis report simply said customer says noise in transmission. I was not happy spending 130 dollars for the dealer to tell me that I had told them that there was a noise in the transmission. (I could write a lot more about the incompetence I encountered at the dealer, but that is not why I am writing this review.)I took my truck to Bobs Transmission and spoke with Carl. Carl rode in my truck with me and gave me lots of pointers to determine how I wanted to move forward (by the way, he did not charge me for this!). Based on his advise and because the noise was getting worse everyday and because there was finely ground metal in the transmission fluid I decided to get a rebuilt one from AutoZone. I scheduled a time for Bobs to swap transmissions (for which they only charged me 774 dollars including tax, fluid and labor and the fee for disposal of old transmission fluid. This was one of the lower prices that I was quoted when I called several shops in Tallahassee). I dropped the truck off at 8 am, picked it up at 4 pm.I highly recommend Bobs for transmission work. They are clearly dedicated to quality service and fair pricing. This is why when I post this, this will be the 18th review on Google with 5 stars.

A+ TRANMISSION SHOP. Went in for a transmission fluid change on my 06 grand prix since it was acting up. Long story short instead of giving me the fluid change I didnt need, they told me exactly what the problem was without charging me a dime. THIS IS A LEGIT TRANSMISSION SPECIALTY SHOP.
