I miss Advanced Stream. Nothing but trash internet ever since being forced to switch to Rainier connect. Not worth the frequent disconnect, not worth dealing with their 24/7 service. Straight up not worth it.

I would literally give ZERO stars if I could. I’m so over Rainier Connect. I’m writing this on my phone as I currently sit here while my internet has gone offline again for the billionth time. I’ve had them for years but the last year has been horrible. My internet is constantly dropped or slow. I’ve called probably close to, if not at least, 20 times. No one can fix it. I get a different answer every time. The techs and customer service don’t seem like they talk to each other. It’s just absolutely ridiculous. One tech even told me I need to switch the cord on the back of the modem to a different port every time. Does that sound like a viable solution? I had to finally demand they send someone to my house to look at it. After that it seemed to work better up until about 2-3 weeks ago and the problems are starting all over again. I haven’t even bothered to call them because it gets me nowhere. I really wanted to support local business on this one but I’m going to have to go back to Comcast because I need reliable internet especially since I work primarily from home. I used to recommend Rainier to everyone but now I will adamantly warn people against them. They are so frustrating.

Weve been using this for over a year now and decided to switch off. The price is high for what youre actually getting. Internet connection often gets lost and speed test results are always much lower than what youre actually paying for. Customer services are great, but its just their internet thats not worth your money.

Offers one year promo rates, then go up rather a lot. The service isnt the best, but does the job. Customer service has limited call hours and is slow to reply online. I had a charge that I was told was dropped, and it wasnt. Im overall not satisfied, but all internet companies pretty much suck, and there arent many options.

Ever since we were forced to change from Advanced Stream we have had nothing but issues with Rainier Connect. Cable is fine through them but internet goes out every week or so. Its so frustrating cause everything relies on the internet nowadays.

Stay away. It seems they are toggling certain members. Our service was fine up until two months ago. Customer service is no exception either. The techs dont call back and the ladies answering the calls are subpar.About two months ago our internet started lagging terribly. My boyfriend tried calling multiple times to figure it out and for two days it got better then again constant lag. We stopped using the wifi with our phones and hardlined the TV to it. The only thing its used for is YouTube. It consistently stops every 1-2 minutes to buffer. We tried to tough it out but it just isnt worth it. My parents left them years ago and we should have followed then.Money stolen from months of practically no service. I suggest going to century link. They have some great deals going on plus fiber.

This is a pretty conflicted review. On the one hand, I give Rainier Connect a 5/5 for service. Ive used them for years, and they always provide prompt and helpful service from an actual human being. No hours of phone trees and tech support scripts to wade through before you get assistance on your real problem; compared to Xfinity or CenturyLink, theyre a breath of fresh air.On the flip side, Rainier Connects equipment and actual technical capabilities are just second-rate. I ultimately had to cancel when I began experiencing upload speed issues that their techs were unable to resolve. To their credit, they had what felt like a whole team working on just my problem, but after two weeks of barely being able to do my remote work, I just had to go another way.If these folks ever get the funds to upgrade and can begin offering improved service in the UP area, Ill be one of the first to switch back over.

Unfortunately Rainier Connect is unable to provide a stable and high speed connection for small businesses or any of us working from home.I have regular service interruptions in addition to my speeds dropping to 50% or 25% of what I pay for. I would advise any individuals with actual internet needs to STEER CLEAR OF RAINIER CONNECT. Just a terrible product overall. Theyre overpriced for their mediocre speeds they cant seem to consistently keep up. Also, where are downtown Tacomas 1GB speeds? Switching to another ISP as soon as I can.The disappointment is the only consistent thing about their internet service.

I am a 10+ year customer of Click Cable. Rainer Connect has taken over and they are great. I am here to write about their customer service. I’ve had an issue with my box for almost two years. I didn’t want to get a new box because I didn’t want to lose a Documentary that is recorded on it. I explained this to the tech when I called when I had come to end of dealing with the issue. He looked up the documentary and found it for purchase on Amazon. I had not even thought of this. Thank you again Tony. The guy who delivered the box was also very great. (Didn’t get his name). The only complaint I have.... they gave me a newer remote that does not have the skip ahead (similar to a fast forward) on the newer remote. UGH!!!!!! I HATE COMMERCIALS!!!! I record shows, never watch live...that’s how much I hate commercials!!! I called today and said they still have the older ones....but have to call on Monday. Thanks Rainer Connect. You guys are awesome.

Best Internet Service provider I have ever worked with. No surprises, super easy billing that is also timely, virtually never a single outage or brown out of bandwidth. Responsive and quick to pick up a phone even though Ive rarely ever needed to do that. I suggest buy the modem, I did and that has helped a ton with moving around town. Going to miss them when I leave. Great signal for little money, and doesnt hit those busy walls like you do with other ISPs. They also arent going to make the excuses like the other ones do either. Never thought I would run into an ISP that did better than Knowlogy in Alabama, but I did with this one!

I loved click but ever since switching to rainier connect they have been terrible My elderly mother has them and before COVID she paid her bill in cash or at the bill pay machine so since COVID she has not been able to pay her bill because they don’t accept payment over the phone and no way to pay cash so anyway I was going through her bills and seen that the bill is $1,400 how idk they said late fees and other fees is why and that she has to pay all this month or disconnect and for someone who is on a fixed income that will not be possible thanks for having my mother crying because she can’t pay a dang cable bill please fix the way you can pay besides automatic bill robot that won’t let you select how much money you can pay looking for another company that doesn’t have rude teenagers answering the phone and conducting business

24/7 support, yeah right. Of course I only have issues when the office is closed. I have called in three times now to the after hours support line. Yet I keep losing my internet connection. Just called in again and was told that they could not help me until Monday. Why say you have 24/7 support if real assistance is only available during normal business hours. Go with a different internet provider.Update, dont bother they do not and can not provide reliable internet.

I am 80 and on a fixed income and they just slapped me with a 3,000 dollar bill. They said I had to pay immediately or they would sue me for the bill and they will cut me off of cable. Their customer service are just a bunch of teens and young adults, and this is probably their first jobs. I don’t know what to do? I never even got a bill for the last 4 months. Is this their policy on doing business? Am I alone in this? I heard TPU made money on this deal. I also heard Reindeer connect also bought up clicks lines so they can sell to Comcast and make millions. I wish someone could help me. Dear Lord.

I dont find the service to be of good value. every single day for over a week 30% of my service goes out at 10:45. i have 2 tvs one has HD one does not. i use the one without fairly often. when cable goes out on it they tell me to go watch the tv with hd until its fixed. i am sick and dont just go do things, i am stuck in bed quite often. 75% of the time. so this isnt of much help.

Rainer connect is fairly good, but there are some drawbacks. My internet drops from time to time. The price is a bit more than Comcast internet. The customer service is usually better. Occasionally tech support will be a little less helpful, but for the most part the tech support is decent. The staff is friendly and I can usually get a real person. One thing to consider when looking at an isp is how much internet you need. Many complaints may be due to people not buying enough bandwidth and then having too many devices using the net at once. Not to say that is always the case, but it is something to think about. Rainer connect is not perfect by any means. It is decent internet with a few issues here and there.

Informed today, by Rainier Connect, that leased modems can often times be returned/used. If you lease a modem from them, there is no guarantee that you are receiving a new device. This was only made known to me after several questions into their lease option. They need to be up front about their leased hardware being used.

Literally the most amateur hour company I’ve ever dealt with in my life - we were forced to use this trash service because the building we rented didn’t allow Comcast .They charge more for 100mps than Comcast does for Gigabyte speed . Their technicians are lazy sacks and won’t pick up their pos routers when you finally are able to escape their horrific service . We have been dealing with them for 2 weeks just for them to pick up their GD router- literally incompetent.This company made me want to live without internet .

Been a customer for about two years, have not had one issue. not once! I have had all of the major providers and always had issues. Rainier Connect has been trouble free; quick to install the service, answered any questions I had, doesnt have a data cap, and can pay the bill online. all in all, the best value Ive ever had with an ISP.

Apparently Rainier connect is very piecemeal as far as their availability to customers, so much so, that even in some apartment complexes they will service some buildings and not others. Not sure what thats about but if youre looking to get affordable internet service just know that they only service the 1800 block and above in Tacoma.

They took care of a very complicated account situation with grace, respect, tact, and above all, efficiency and effectiveness. This was so much less painful than it could have been. (Ex housemate refused to cancel the existing internet service so new service could go into the name of the remaining housemate. I have no idea what their billing department eventually said, but the ex housemate finally saw fit to do the right thing in this regard. Kudos to Lauren.)

Maybe this will change but for now, I have been very satisfied with both the service as well as the customer service. They are always very polite and accommodating. Dont listen to the Comcast trolls. These guys are great. Rainier connect offers reliable fast internet service that is no different in quality than Comcast. Only, with Rainier connect, when they say unlimited internet, it IS TRULY unlimited with no data caps, no extra charges, and no throttling. All for 99 bucks a month. And my bill hasnt changed in 3 years. If you live in Tacoma and youre signed up with comcast, youre wasting your money.

We have Rainier Connect for our business in the Port of Tacoma area. To say that their service is horrible would be an understatement. Nearly everyday we have either our phone or internet go down, sometimes both simultaneously. Weve had them out to fix the issues numerous times without any improvement. Today our phone went down again and the person who answered the phone when we called to report this, stated that it was likely a wiring problem in our building potentially caused by rats or some type of animal chewing the wires. It doesnt take much common sense to know that if that were the case, our service wouldnt be out intermittently, it would simply not work considering wires dont heal themselves! Needless to say, after a few consistent months of struggling with one issues after another on a daily basis, we will be switching our service provider. We operate a logistics company, so phone and internet is vital in operating our business successfully and it is beyond frustrating to constantly have the same issue with no real answer as to why.If you have ANY other options when it comes to service providers, I would recommend you chose them versus Rainier Connect and avoid the frustration. I always thought you couldnt be worse than Century Link, but Rainier Connect may just give them a run for their money in terms of the worst service provider. The only positive thing I have to say about them would be that their service tech is friendly, though I dont believe he truly fixed anything.

Ive used them for a total of maybe 5 or 6 years. Im just moving to my 3rd residence while using their service so I cant speak to their service in north Tacoma, but Ive lived Stadium District and the south end. So far, I have had zero problems with my service. Phone calls to customer service are answered quickly, I am always helped in a courteous, professional and timely manner. They are installing my service with my most recent move for free (Ive never heard of that with any other company) and even when I had to email them to try and move my installation due to an interview for a job opportunity at the same time (with one days notice) unfortunately there werent any other times available, however the cs agent still made a couple provisions to make sure I could still try and recieve my installation during that same window. AND the agent even sent me an email wishing me luck at my interview! My emails to customer service are always returned within hours... hours! Not days. Not an automated email saying a ticket was opened. An actual real person responds within hours. I will cry the day I move somewhere they cant service and I get stuck with xfinity or century link :(

Wanted to reduce costs so downgraded the land line to the $9.99 package, this ended up costing me $3.00 more that the previous phone package. The $9.99 basic digital phone ends up costing more than the $19.99 Enhanced Digital Phone through taxes & fees and this is something that Rainier Connect should have communicated to me. I was told that switching would lower my monthly cost by $10.00, but its actually $3.24 more. You have lost a customer and you dont even deserve one star.

I have had the internet for 3 months almost. Two of those months were spent going back and fourth with tech support because every hour of the day my internet would go down for about 20-30 min. I work from home, this means emails crashed, spread sheets lost at random I had to take several days off work to have a tech come and do nothing and nothing would be fixed. Finally they give me an older modem and it works and they promise me that I wouldn’t have to pay anything until August. It is literally the 15th, I got no emails that my account was passed due and they badgered me by phone for weeks to plug in the modem that didn’t work and then shut my account off this morning claiming I was passed due and the bill the tech guy gives me is totally different than the one in email. These people have lost me money and cost me money driving back and forth and loosing clients. I would never use these service.

At one time, this was a 5 star review. Ive been with Rainier Connect for years, but its time to move on. The people in the front office are very nice, but tech support lies through their teeth. The problem is NOT my computer. The problem is that RC has bitten off more than they can chew. What used to be good service is now nothing but poor connectivity issues. Multiple hour night time outages every month or so, but no admitting that theyre down for maintenance issues, AGAIN. No, its Seems to be a problem in your whole area. Someone must have hit a pole.. I also get You have no internet connection screens all the time, when Im ALREADY connected to the internet on multiple tabs, on multiple browsers. Even when it opens the requested site, I spend half or more of my time waiting for the spinning wheel of a one lane highway to stop. Dont know where Im going, but its time. It is so time.Down to one star now, as I sit here, AGAIN, waiting for hours for service to be available. Too bad its Sunday. Ill have to wait until Monday to start calling other providers.We have now achieved a new low. Out 2 nights out of the last 3. Company has been bought out, now service is below average, as slow as dial-up. I switched to Comcast/Xfinity. I hated to switch, was happy to support a local company, but needed reliable service. They didnt even have enough respect and appreciation for their customers to tell them there had been a change. Honestly I needed a new router/modem brought out to me and they refused to send a tech out. But instead are making the three kids and I load up to drive all the way to there office. Customer care is lacking. I worked for wave broadband and would send techs put upon request.

Poor customer service and tech support. I spoke with a tech agent who advised me that I just needed a new modem. He sent me a list a approved modems. After I bought one and called back to install, they told me that I also needed a router (which he did not make me aware of) and that all of this won’t help my internet connection. Then I asked to speak with customer service so I could figure out what my plan was and to see if it would benefit me to upgrade and to figure out why they told me to purchase a new modem if it wouldn’t help my internet speed. She was incredibly rude and told me that if I wanted details about me plan I can go log-in online. Kinda hard to do at the time with my internet down....Currently shopping new providers. Would NOT recommend. The first two years of internet from net venture were reliable but the last 2 years it has become steadily worse, with frequent lagging and cutting out for hours at a time.Go somewhere else for internet.
