He is attentive and knows hair and is fun to have a conversation with.While other barber shops try to out hipster each other. Shannon at SMR is keeping it real and cutting hair for a reasonable price of $20 ($22 with card).I loved the fact that I can walk in and be told I’m next (or to hop in the chair) instead of the other shops in the area which appear to have hours long wait times.Will be returning.

I went in looking for a haircut with no idea how to explain exactly what I wanted. The guy somehow understood me and really surprised me with the outcome. It was a really great cut and pretty good price. Would recommend to a friend and gladly go back.

A few cuts ago I was trying everywhere, but everytime i got home my cuts just werent me. Then i heard about SMR Barbershop from a friend. I couldnt have been more impressed. I not only felt like myself again but i also get so many compliments on my hair now. All it took was one cut for me to see that he was now my go-to barber.

Overall very positive! Hes prior military in one of/oldest barbershop in Tacoma. Little bit of history and you get to support a veteran. As far as the actual hair cut I got a high skin fade and he definitely did a lot better job than the barbershops near base! The best fade job Ive ever gotten to be honest. As we sat in our car trying to find directions to our next destination he actually came out and put some alcohol on my sides! 10/10

This is the 4th barber I have tried in Tacoma. I will not be going back to any of the others. I am a 74 year old semi bald guy. I am real picky and not easy to please. I have had some piss poor haircuts in Tacoma. Not at SMR Barbershop. Top notch haircut!We had a miscommunication on the first try, but I still liked the haircut. Today Shannon nailed it! Really happy with the haircut.Shannon is a nice guy who is easy to talk with, not talkative or quiet just right for me.
