I made a reservation a week prior, called the Monday the week that I was supposed to move and ironed out the details of the reservation (pick up drop off pricing etc). I asked what happens if a truck isnt available, the representative stated that it wouldnt be a problem they would find a truck. that met my needs and if it was in a different location I wouldnt be charged the mileage to get it etc. The representative stated Id receive a call on Wednesday for finalization. I wasnt called on Wednesday. I was called on THURSDAY two days before the move, and greeted by the rudest representative who claimed she was a manager. She said there were trucks available in all of New York State, I let her know about my previous conversation... she gave a little laugh and said that was incorrect information. There was no available trucks for this weekend and I would have to reschedule. I explained to her again what I previously told and what the website says and she said there was a truck available Tuesday. I let her know I couldnt. move Tuesday as I had taken time off from work already to move, made the reservation already, and the apartment Im living in couldnt just let me stay extra days after I had already notified the landlord of the move. The representative didnt care, or offer any other solutions. ... super high pitched voice, maybe a southern accent? I let her know how great the other representative was in figuring out a different solution and answering questions and let her know how unprofessional this current experience had been. To say the least, calling anyone 2 days before they are scheduled to move and offering no solution, empathy or compassion or sensitivity to the situation at hand and making the customer feel like this situation was the customers fault is unprofessional.... Do better!
BEWARE! Reserved a truck last week, did all of the necessary prep work ahead of time in my UHaul account, and still ran into trouble today when I brought the truck back. The woman who checked me in neglected to inform me that I’d be receiving a text message from UHaul within moments of picking up the key, prompting me to take pics of the fuel gage before departure, and uploading to them.I don’t know about you but I’m busy on moving day. I’m not looking at my phone. 90 minutes later, I saw that I missed a text from them. I clicked the link and it had expired. I didn’t think much of it.I had another authorized driver on the account (I didn’t end up driving the truck at all) and, fortunately, he took the attached pic of the fuel gage before leaving the lot. It corresponds to the starting mileage on my contract. As you can see, the fuel was just under 3/4. BUT, the contract said it was 7/8 full. No sweat cuz we have the pic, right? We filled the fuel back to 3/4 before returning the truck.We bring it back and Joseph pointed out how the contract said 7/8 but that he’d “let it slide.” He didn’t want to see the pic but here it is now. I guess because I didn’t upload the pic when the automated text wanted me to, it didn’t count? 🤷🏻♀️The one star is for Joseph because at least he was friendly and seemed competent. I obviously can’t say the same for the woman who checked me in (or the guy to the far left counter who seriously burped while I was checking in). I’m just glad I won’t need UHaul anytime soon.
Im giving 1 star solely because of Anna at this location. She didnt take the time to talk to her customer to figure out what equipment was being dropped off and instead immediately started barking orders at the other employee about how I was at the wrong drop off location and needed to be charged extra money. I was not at the wrong drop off location. Isaac quickly figured out the issue and resolved it. He was extremely professional, on point, and a pleasure to work with. That gentleman should be promoted!
I went in today to rent a uhaul and a trailer for my car and JOSEPH was so much help. He was very personable and so kind. There was a line but him and another lady got through it very fast with a smile. It was my first time renting so I was stressed out but he explained everything and was so much help. Thank you Joseph!
Awful service.. ordered online and still took 45 minutes to get out the store with no one in the line or being helped and they had three people working... all looked lazy and like they didnt want to be there .. never again ill go to sun belt or a different company
Uneducated they don’t know what are they doing they keep claiming what you need its in stock online when you in person they don’t have what you reserved and staff is very unprofessional!

I rented a truck, literally had the truck for 2 hours. Drove from one place to another which was only about 5 mins apart from each other. I turned the truck in and got a call that I was going to be charged for damage on the truck. I asked for them to review the camera to see if that damage was there already. Nobody would do so. Poor customer service. Unprofessional. Long story short they didn’t want to run the camera back and I wasn’t charge. Never again!!

I reserved a few hundred dollars in moving boxes and paid ahead of time to have them ready at the Teall Ave Uhaul location. When we arrived, the sales associate tried to tell me they did not have seven different Items that I had paid for (lg wardrobe boxes, book boxes, packing paper, etc.). I told her that I did not understand how that was possible since I reserved and paid for them 9 days prior. Her response was “well a lot of customers reserve things and don’t pick them up so we don’t save them”. Are you kidding me?! I told her that I failed to see how that was my problem. Turns out most of the items were on a new skid that she didn’t feel like unpacking and looking into. Definitely do not recommend at all!
This is a fairly large facility with a ton of trucks for your choosing. Theres also huge space for storage. The process for getting my reserved truck was straightforward. Price was good and all the potential charges were made clear to me upfront. The only thing they can improve is to hire more people. It seems short staffed.
Picking up trailer at another location, Ifound my wiring harness wasnt working properly. They sent me to this location for repair and John, the manager (and owner?) went above and beyond to get the repair done in a timely manner so I could be on my way quickly. Thanks for the great service!

We scheduled an appointment to have a hitch installed on our car a two weeks in advance. Got a call the day before that they didnt have the right hitch in stock. So we rescheduled for a week later. Arrived the morning wed made a reservation only to be told our entire appointment had just been cancelled in its entirety. Finally got our car in for the hitch to be installed... Hopefully it works?
Ignoring and slow personnel. Will never do business with them again. The midtown branch personnel are way more helpful and considerate.
Ive used this location to rent larger U-Haul trucks to drive to NYC and back, and also to rent smaller pick-up trucks for random jobs within the city. Ive never had any problems. I usually rent online, pick-up at the specified time, and drop-off. They also have a good selection for moving items available within the store.
Youre on hold on the phone forever. Once you get a human they are unhelpful.
Ive use their self service on the first floor and I was reasonably happy, but this low rating is for what happened when renting a truck.We booked a small truck weeks in advance and got a text a couple days prior notifying us to get our truck at a different store instead. No problem, as long as we have a truck OK. So we go to this other store which is a community center not a corporate store like teall Ave and they gave their only truck to the person in front of us (seems they will give the only available truck even if its booked to a corporate client if they want it).Lots of calling to figure out where we can get a truck since we need to go that day. The uhaul people repeatedly say we have a reservation request not a reservation but thats not what the documents or website say and its a cop out. So we end up having to drive 40 miles to get another van and the only compensation is they will up the mileage to cover the additional miles, never mind we need to use more gas in the truck and my car.They have a guarantee but lets be clear, they wont honor it and what good is some trivial rebate or cash when you need a truck at a given time and place? Trash company who will hold you buy your balls because one certain dates you need a truck and everyone is booked.Like Seinfeld said, taking the reservation is easy, but keeping it is the hard part. Who knows if they can do that for you.
If I could rate it negative five stars would I came in yesterday to see what uhaul my dad had rented from literally drove all over to 4 different uhauls and they didnt even have it on record that he had one or that it was even brought back

I picked up the truck in New Jersey and drove to Syracuse. When I dropped off the truck in the morning to the location, the two seemed annoyed because I got there just before opening and then I got hassled returning the truck! The truck I rented had cosmetic issues when I picked it up. When I dropped it off, the guy was trying to blame me for damages to the vehicle. Luckily I pointed out the U-Haul X stickers they put next to already claimed damages. They guy was still insisting that it was me. Dude if I damaged the I wouldnt be a dope about it, I would admit my wrong. I done with this place.
Besides its commonality of looking like a dump with every other uhaul location - its service is good, the people are friendly, and the trucks work as they should. Ive rented numerous times from them. On moving day, I have bigger things to worry about than how clean their truck rental store is. They get the job done.
Rates and selection are good at this location. Staff is helpful but a tad under-staffed.

LOCKED OUT 3 TIMES Im giving them 1 star bc I have to and the storage is clean otherwise I would never use them or recommend bc of the service after storing my first night and paying for extended hours I came with a truck load of my things and I was denied access came back in the morning lock on my unit bc of nonpayment they said I went to the office and wasnt even offered anything for my troubles third time I was late to my niece christening bc I couldnt get in my unit and had to run to Wal-Mart for a shirt. Their system is horrible they call it glitches that lock ppl out there is one guy that came to me to apologize which meant aalot and I told him but the higher ups did not they need more help a better system take responsibility and offer accomadations to ease customers that had bad experiences with their services... otherwise clean units

Terrible Uhaul location. I left something in the cab of a uhaul I returned. I called them back to have them look and hold it. They said they would look and call me back. Never called back. Ive been calling them. It goes to a call center and they leave a message. Never got a call back. I went in person and they rented the truck out. Terrible customer service. I eould never recommend this location to anyone.

They installed a trailer light kit and the cable they ran from the battery to the hitch in the back was not secured down properly and started dragging. Gave specific details on how I wanted the cable ran and they ignored it. Had to have my mechanic fix it.

I used the Teall ave Uhaul to move from Onondaga Hill to Fayetteville. It is a roughly 13 mile drive. You can imagine my surprise when I returned the Uhaul yesterday afternoon, and was told that I put 300 miles on their truck (costing me an extra $200). When I explained to them that they were way off, they shrugged and said thats why we tell you to read the odometer before you leave (which I should have done, but nobody there told me to do that).Obviously it was an honest mistake by whoever read the initial mileage reading, but instead of thinking logically that id have had to have made over 30 trips in less than 24 to drive that much, or frankly even look into the matter, they assigned the blame to me and did nothing. I had to get out of my house, so I didnt have time to argue.It took me having to call their corporate headquarters later that night to get anyone to look at the matter. Of course when they did this, it showed that I was right.When I talked to the store manager, she did not even offer any sort of refund for overcharging my card $200 (that will take 4 days to get back on my card), or for the stores employees failing to make any attempt at looking into the situation. I would not recommend using this locationIt took me having to place
I rented a truck and moved some of my belongings into a non-uhual storage unit. My total was $68. One week later I get an additional bill via email saying I owe $46 more??? This has to be a mistake. Im still waiting to hear back from Uhual as to why I received additional charges.Edit: 4-2-17 U-Haul decided to charge my credit card an additional $46 without my permission. I will be contacting the BBB and getting this nonsense resolved.

Lots of different truck sizes. Need more people for customer service, desk is never maned.
Was over charged. A refund was sent to the wrong address. Then a month later was charged again for the same account that I was given a refund for. Now 2 months later they are giving me the run around.
