Do not use this U-haul. They will leave you running in circles and they never have the truck you reserve. It is extremely painful to coordinate with them and if you have a problem you will be repetedly hung up on and ignored. I even called the Scheduling Manager; who was nice but have zero ability to resolve the issue. I left a Voicemail for a General Manager... Never heard back. It is honestly a terrible U-haul. Please for your sake go to a different location.
Tried to rent a tow dolly to use on a car that I towed before.. but now the very same car is not compatable with their system..any more... something about their liability.. its was a 2500lb car... not a tank.Id give it zero star... but no choice...

So i rented a trailer saturday morning 9/11. Returned it the same day about 5 530 afternoon, they charged my debit card for 2 full days. I have been trying to contact the manager since monday. He is suposse to call me. Still no call. Try to call uhaul customer service same thing.
I recently moved out of Arizona back to my home state of Texas. I decided to use U-Haul’s Ubox to ship my household goods. I physically went in to the location right off the 303 and Northern to schedule this and let them know I would like my boxes delivered hopefully by the first week of May if possible. They told me no problem and I had the boxes delivered to my home in Arizona April 19, 2021. Packed and ready to go, they were picked up they following day, April 20, 2021. It is now May 21, 2021 and my boxes haven’t even shipped and are still being held at this location! I spent 1 hour and 36 minutes on the phone with U-Haul yesterday and was transferred 4 different times and no one can give me an answer as to why my boxes were sitting there for over a month now. On top of that they decide to go ahead and charge my card for another month rental with these boxes. I called and spoke to a male at this location yesterday (May 20, 2021) and he assured me once we hung up our phone conversation that he was going to walk my information over to the manager and he would call me shortly to figure it out. Of course none of this happened. Is U-haul just incapable of hiring employees who are capable of doing their job? How can a manager be in a position of authority if he can’t return a simple phone call? Who do I have to speak to about getting some answers as to why my household goods have been sitting there for over a month?
Where do I start? Trucks under 1/4 tank of gas at pick up, manager was an hour late leaving all the employees outside waiting with anger customers, double charged our card.Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere
Uhaul continues to be an intricate part of my transition state-to-state as they keep my belongings safe in there climate controlled unit.
I was double charged and never received my refund. I have talked to the office 3 times and they keep saying the check is in the mail. Still have not received it.

My first impression was horrible. Another customer and I came in, we could hear people talking in the back room, after about 10 mins we walked to the back. The employees were eating. She said I’ll be right out. A gentleman came out, said I don’t know how to use this computer so let me see if I can help you guys. The girl in the back yelled out, let me know if you need help. He couldn’t figure it out so she finally came out to help him. After the other customer was checked in. It was my turn. The girl at the counter was very unprofessional. When she was checking me in she Informed me that I needed to walk all the way up to the road to get the pick up I was renting. She told me it around the building. I asked her if she was supposed to bring to me she said no. I said how do I find the truck, just press the button till it clicks, she said that the number was on the bumper. I walked all the way around the building and the truck wasn’t there. I came back around the building no one was inside, I found her outside. Told her the trucks not there. She Went to look For it. Finally found the truck, and I walked over to it, I told her there’s a dent in the bumper, we didn’t do that, she said it’s not a big deal. I asked her how Do I checkin after hours she was very rude said just put the keys in the door over there. When I got in the truck it was dirty, low tire pressure light was on. When we returned the truck, we were unable to get it to check in on the website. Overall we were not happy, really poor customer service. We were planning on renting a moving truck on Friday to move, but now we will be going with Budget. Horrible customer service.

I recently reserve a 12x6 utility trailer online. It confirmed its availability so I went to pickup at the scheduled time. Come to find out the trailer was not available. So I had to settle for a smaller trailer. Then when I ask about there $50 reservation guarantee they gave me excuses and did not honor they own policy. I rather take my business else ware a place where u-haul is full of themselves especially the uhaul on grand ave and bell rd.
I use to love this uhaul but now they have completely given up on customer service so I suggest letting big corporations like uhaul know we wont stand for this use enterprise trucks or anyone else uhaul is not to big for us to teach them that we can and will spank them if need be as just one person they dont have to care about us but as millions they will feel it so I bag you stand up and say we wont take this and give your money to the companys that care
Our entire move was a ‘pooch’ from start to finish! None of it the fault of U Haul. They were wonderful about fixing everything within their power to fix. The entire staff went above and beyond. Our thanks to them all.

This was one of the best customer service experiences of my life. We drove in after 4 days of traveling. When I was unloading into our storage unit I started to feel faint (gotta love that June AZ heat). The staff offered me Gatorade and a cool place to sit. They took my husbands car off of the car hauler and tried to help us diagnose a problem with the car afterward. The staff at this facility went completely above and beyond and I can’t recommend them enough.
If I could give this location zero stars, I would. We had an appointment for a hitch installation at NOON, and half an hour later, they asked us to come back later because they “didn’t have any open spots to fit us in”. Over 2 hours later, we hadn’t received a call about an opening, and we’re still waiting. There was another gentleman in the waiting area as well, who had waited FOUR HOURS for a hitch to be installed. The employees in the showroom were too preoccupied with gossiping rather than making sure the guys in the garage are doing okay. This is absolutely ridiculous.
Did a 4 hour rental for a truck and dolly for about a 15 mile drive and had to return the truck after hours. We returned the truck at 7:10 pm, as the employees were walking to their cars, and their app wouldn’t work for us to check it in. The only reason we knew about the app was because we got a text from an automated system, the employee told us to park it and drop the keys when we rented it. We asked for help and the employees said they would take care of it this morning to drop the keys and not worry about it. They sure took care of it! They charged us a ton of extra fees and we ended up paying $100 for renting a truck that we had for two hours! I’ve emailed and called, no response. Terrible customer service and you can tell they just don’t care about their customers. I’ve rented from several other locations and have never had a problem until now.
Went in this location to buy packing and moving supplies. It was raining today and I have a physical disability that made shopping difficult for me. Rosa, one of the customer service staff, came right over and helped me pick out everything I needed to get a good share of my packing done. Rosa was friendly, kind, helpful, and efficient. She loaded everything into my trunk for me, for which I am very grateful. I wish every customer service representative was as efficient and knowledgeable as Rosa.

Bought hitch and was quoted 1-1/2 - 2 hrs. for install. 7 hrs later they finally finished install. I had to cancel a scheduled doctors appointment and missed out on spending time with family that come in from out town, as he had remove all of my tail lights and couldnt get back on. Manger Megan was as exacerbated as I was. She even tried to help him. He spent 4-hrs alone on the tail lights. After 6 hrs he finally called someone for help. If he had made that call at least 5 hrs earlier I would not have to make this negative review. Megan and employees were very courteous. Installer was very apologetic but his lack of ability to ask for help showed strong incompetence.

Cheap and easy. Not to pushy with the extras. Only downside so far is long wait times to pick up and drop off. Typically only one employee working the counter and one running outside. Takes me about 10-15 minutes per visit to complete transactions.Never used the storage, I have only rented trailers.
Wonderful people working inside and outside in the heat. Our vehicle wasnt powering the turn signal on the trailer, and everyone jumped on fixing the problem. Turned out to be a fuse in our vehicle was blown, they promptly diagnosed the problem and replaced the fuse, no charge! Thank you for your help during a very difficult week.
We got lucky and got a practically brand new truck for our move. Ill tell ya it was a lot better then the trucks back in the day. This one was by far the smoothest ride of any truck I have been in. Overall satisfied with their trucks.
Typical u haul. Difficult to get to. Did some moving there. Needed a drink. There water fountain was broken. Building maintained the same as thier trucks. Not very well
Look for another facility if you are looking for storage. Always short handed, and unwilling to work with you on charges. (We rented a unit that was too small. Wanted to upgrade They do not pro-rate...period. So we wound up with two paid units) Horrible customer service.We are staying because the climate control, while overpriced, seems clean and secure and we have paid to have our things moved.However if we could do it again we would have chosen a different storage facility.
Have rented 3 different vehicles from here and have been really pleased every time. Folks here are friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and do their very best for you even when they are super busy. Seems the uhaul database needs an overhaul tho ... it’s not the employees who are slow. This is still my choice of local uhauls.
Drinking fountain is working.Used Google maps to get here. Although Google seems to think you cant turn right off of Bell. You can.Check-in was super easy. Ive been here about fifteen minutes, but about 12 just waiting for my ride.
Staff was friendly, efficient and took our trailer off quickly and we were on our way.
The owner skipped right over me because I didnt know what size trailer I wanted. They didnt even display the open trailers for me to look at. He blew me off to help another customer when I waited for an hour In line.

The pick up very quick. The PROBLEM: 26 Truck overheated the entire time having people who drove out of their way from Phoenix to Heber, AZ waiting on the truck so we could unload in new home. My husband explained the situation after dropping truck off 2 days early, clean and full of gas; **for huge inconvenience, they didnt charge us for the dolly we rented**** That was their customer service for a old truck that kept on overheating slowing us way down on our move approx. 150 miles away. We always use UHaul in the past: dollies, trailers, and moving trucks plus storage for motorhomes. We trusting UHaul since the family is from AZ. not anymore. I hope others see this review and think twice. susie
Without a doubt, one of the worst Uhaul experiences Ive ever had. Its unfortunate I have to write this low review for this place because my previous experience with other Uhaul locations have been good. I made a reservation for a truck a couple of days ago. My credit card was already charge and the reservation was for 3 days and 425 miles. I received confirmation of my order via email. They scheduled me to pickup the truck at 10am. We were running late with our move and at 11am, I receive a phone call telling me my truck was cancelled. Needless to say, this absolutely destroyed our plans for moving across state. Not even a courtesy a phone call to say Hey, if you dont pickup the truck within 15 minutes, we have to cancel the order. No, not even that. I would have immediately gone to pickup the truck. I was under the impression the truck was reserved for me for 3 days and 425 miles. Whether its sitting on their lot or Im actually using it should be no concern of theirs. Ive ALREADY reserved it and paid for it!!!! 1 phone call telling me its cancelled without advance notice is absolutely ridiculous. Do not use this place....
This is by far the best u haul location I have ever dealt with... megan, allison, brittany are the best to the point and not waste your time associates I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with... I highly recommend them... other u hauls have given me issues so I drove from 40th st and bell to surprise location and they made everything right and quickly...
Jesse the owner made our reservation experience absolutely horrible. The other staff seemed to be in good spirits as were we as we patiently waited for 10ish minutes in line. We had checked if we had a reservation but we only had a quote for a truck and auto trailer. We changed the size of the truck and he prints out a new paper with only the truck details and so we had to tell him we still wanted the trailer. He stops what he’s doing, throws his hands down and sternly says, “what all do you want? Boxes, dolly, packing material?!” And we clarified we only want the truck and trailer. He adds that for us and told us how much more it will be but doesn’t print out a new sheet and his reasoning was because we waited to tel him about the trailer. I can’t wait to be done with this move and never use Uhaul again. What a great first impression. From an OWNER of all people.
Ive had issues at this Uhaul but they seem to have cleared up. They are always busy so dont expect to get through your business quickly. They are knowledgable and normally have a huge selection of vehicles to chose from. Now that the overpass has been completed, the easiest way to get in is drive west on Bell and turn right at the light before the overpass.
I have used this U-haul delear several times in the past to do family member moves. Never had any problems.For Tori - I think this is a bogus review - they open at 7a.m.!
Booked reservation on line, went to pickup the truck was physically standing next to it. Took pictures of my license and myself, credit card on file, and they call my reference phone number who happens to be my wife and whom is extremely ill, she couldnt pick up so i couldnt get the truck. WHAT?No one around to help, the app wanted a picture of a passport since the ALTERNATE phone number didnt answer. Makes absolutely no sense at all! I can walk in and get a truck by myself, but with the online mobile booking i need references are you serious uhaul you have my license credit card and picture! All those documents i submitted to you and now i need to stand in line for 45 minutes cause my sick wife didnt answer the ALTERNATE number. How do you not have someone come out after im already there and checked in? Absolutely disgraceful, supposed to be a time saver instead you wasted my time twice. Make no mistake, this is the total lack of customer service at the local uhaul.

Im sorry IDK why ppl rate this place so low 3.6 my aunt fanny this place has been great x 2 Ive rented from them twice Ive had the same sales associate Dawn S. She was professional courteous and helpful and understanding she helped she suggested and I accepted she was helpful and extremely nice and cordial......made the 4 hour drive from Las Vegas worth it at the end cant say enough her and her staff fun loving and made the experience worth the drive
Professional service. The process is easy. Not so easy to get to sleep nice the Grand overpass was completed.
It was nightmare trying to get a working trailer hitched to our car. We were driven around only to find our original trailer had been hitched to a different car. Now we have pending charges for 16 mins late when they cut an hour into our rental time. I was told to talk to a manager but got nowhere. I was on hold for 20 mins. I really hope this is not the norm for this store or others for that matter.
I would give this place a zero if I could. Absolutely awful service. They barely marked any of the damage on the truck they gave to us and told us we had to photo everything that wasnt marked which was the whole damn truck. Then they want you to upload it to the login and the login expired within minutes of us logging in after just purchasing the truck. The workers dont care and I dont blame them, they need to fix this dump. Go somewhere else.
Hitch installation service was good. There wasnt much to do in the surrounding area so the two- plus hours it took to complete the installation went by pretty slow. Should have brought a book or something to occupy the time.

Jeff and company went above and beyond on my way out of town. I came to get a trailer and the light connection on my car wasnt working. Jeff took time to solve the problem and saved me money and time. All the guys there are courteous and professional!!!
Called ahead to verify if they can install a hitch I bought through another company and they said it was fine. I schedule an appointment and when I arrived they said they cant because its not bought through Uhaul. Wasted my time. Please clarify next time, I couldve schedule the hitch install with someone else.
A little slow processing customers but the manager actually intervened to help reduce the queue-- and he said it wasnt even his shop, he was filling in for someone else. I wish I knew the guys name; he deserves recognition to promote this attitude in other employees!
We called and scheduled a 10-footer about a week beforehand for 8 in the morning. A worker called to confirm we were coming at 8 in the morning a day prior to our appointment to pick it up. We get there at 8 in the morning the day of only to find out they don’t even open ‘til 9, and when we come back at 9 there are people there being helped that don’t even have a scheduled pick up until 10 AM. No one offered any discount or even apologies. We had a scheduled move-out / move-in day that was pushed back because of this.

I made a reservation earlier last month for a storage unit today. Showed up for the storage and they told me that all the reservation does is put my name in the system and the storage units are on a first come basis. When i tried to write a review on their website i get an error message. I called custumer service next. After waiting i explained my situation and was tranfered to someone else that could only get me the number of the location I was currently at, also available by searching on google. Lmgtfy.
They charged my credit card $400. Never been to the store nor have I rented from this particular uhaul . I Called to find out if my cc had been stolen. No they purposefully charged my card because I was an “alternate contact” for some one . I absolutly would never authorize this and tell them they need to refund my account immediately I am not an alternate contact for anyone I have no clue as to what they are speaking of. Needless to say Jesse the store manager has no customer service skills what so ever.. he was incredibly rude and didn’t listen to a word I said. So almost 2 weeks later still no funds returned to my account. I have now filed a police report and will be looking into my next legal step.against uhaul since Jesse and the rest of the idiots at the Surprise location cannot give me a valid reason as to why my card was charged. I’m still waiting to see rental agreement where I was present and was an authorized party to rental agreeement.

(Wouldnt give any stars if that was an option) This is the worst u haul company ever! We Did a state to state move and was given a free month storage for using a 22 foot truck and a 10 foot trailer... I dont know if that had something to do with the way we were treated but either way, very disappointed. When we first arranged the unit we were specifically told that we would be able to access the unit at ANY time. We had to wait for the worker to clean the unit before moving our stuff in and ended up sweeping it out ourselves and having to put our own cord/string on the door so we would be able to reach the door when it was up, this was before we realized the door was broken (explained below). The day after we moved in we came after hours to get something inside our unit, when trying to check in it wouldnt recognize our access code. Called the toll free number and was told we did not have 24 hour access... It would cost an extra $15 a month (no big deal but it wouldve been nice to be informed of this when signing the papers instead of being told we had 24 hour access). Like I said before our door is broken and has been since day 1, the door will only go up as far as the lock to the awning otherwise we will not be able to get the door back down - informed the workers multiple times and eventually (after about a month of complaining) somebody came to fix the awning so our door could go all the way up and its still not fixed (they only cut the awning a little and that did nothing). When it came time to pay our monthly fee, called the toll free number and their system was down; we were asked to call back the next day... When called back the next day we were charged a late fee, insane... Have talked to customer service on many occasions - most of the reps are really nice except one who was absolutely horrible, rude, and very unprofessional. Ended up getting $50 off our monthly fee - still has yet to be applied to our bill - they cant find the notes in the system. It only took about a month before our access code was accepted at the check in machine - each time we would come to check in the alarm would go off, when trying to fix it one time the worker in the office told us that they would make note of our name and when the alarm would trip they would shut it off (uh, ok)... Came to the unit today to pay our bill (because the system was down AGAIN and unable to pull our file up online) and the workers are driving the rental trucks (20 footers) like bumper cars. Speeding and turning corners way too fast, regardless if they are empty, and the workers on golf carts are doing spin outs where the trucks are parked - making rocks spray all over the trucks. (I tried getting this on video but they must have seen me and stopped). The workers here seem to be young men in their early 20s (if that) and seem to really enjoy their free time running the grounds with the trucks and golf carts.I understand each of these companies is owned individually and is not a real reflection of u haul itself, but this specific location is outrageous... The customer service at this location is so unprofessional and their inability to fix the things weve asked for multiple times and to get our access code correct is rediculous. Needless to say we will no longer be storing our stuff here... The main owner of u haul should make a visit to this location and have a see for themselves.

Im sorry but no. Weve now included the BBB, and were warning everyone not to trust Uhaul. They will make you promises then screw you then admit theyre screwing you then expect you to thank them. They advertise one thing. You show up and that truck isnt available there. Someone new was left alone to help people and she didnt know the answer to any of my questions. So it took twice as long to get what i needed and on my way.
I have been calling everyday for a week now to find out if my missing item was left In the truck. They say they will send a message to them and have them call you back. But has yet to happen. And apparently you cant just call the store directly and talk to someone who can actually help. Pretty pissed off about it.

General manager took a reservation for a truck to be picked up today. The truck was rented to someone else. When asked to speak to the general manager they employee was rude and said she was in a meeting only offered to call another location for the rental when we tried to cancel the reservation.....This operation has the worst customer service when the general manager is not there.

These guys dont sell propane...Although the cage out front has about 14 propane tanks in there. Their response oh we dont know about those, theyve been out there for over a year. We called before hand and they said they did fill propane tanks at this location, however when we got there they said they only fill them at the location on grand and bell....This is the location on grand and bell..
