Lyndsey Follis is an outstanding assett. My house was recently reclassified into a flood zone in january. I found out about it in june, when i got a letter from my mortgage company. On top of that, i am also currently overseas. I called Charles Chitwood state farm and Lyndsey Follis was of great assistance from the first interacrion, until i had the flood insurance secured. At first there was a snafu, as my house was not classified as being in the correct city, and FEMA couldnt issue me insurance. Lyndsey was on top of it and followed up with the necessary agencies until the error had been corrected. I was having a bit of anxiety, but she kept in touch with me and let me know the situation. It took about two weeks to get everything resolved. She even made sure the documents were sent to my mortgage company. If i own more properties that require flood insurance, i will definitely return thanks to my interaction and experience working with Lyndsey. HIGHLY RECOMMEND - THANK YOU LYNDSEY.

Being young and in the military, it’s quite difficult to bring myself to finally be an adult and get car insurance. I’ve been calling every major insurance company for quotes and the call has been substandard. To be completely honest, I didn’t want to go with State Farm because I would rather have USAA since they are military operated. But I decided to test the waters and give State Farm a call. I spoke with Laura Kersting to get a quote and I was very pleased with the customer service. As a typical consumer, I really value good people who are easy to talk to. Laura was a very professional and sweet person. It’s really people like her that make people feel comfortable about taking big steps in life (like getting your very first car insurance policy). She gave me good answers and did her best to find more information to better help me. Like I said, I didn’t really take State Farm seriously. I only called State Farm because I was advised by my family to look at every option to find the best value. I had a good experience and State Farm offers good discounts. However, if it wasn’t for Laura, I probably would have just gone with Geico. But now I look forward to opening a policy with state farm in a couple of days.

Yesterday I faced the nightmare of replacing my lost license at the DMV. I was told that I couldn’t move forward until I cleared a lapse in insurance coverage in 2019...the “lapse” was on a vehicle that had been totaled by State Farm in January of 2019. The time frame in question was May-June 2019! Despite the fact that people do not typically insure totaled vehicles, I had to reach out to Mr. Chitwood’s office. Justin helped me throughout the day by providing phone numbers for me, helping me to understand what I needed and eventually clearing me to get my license. I so appreciate his assistance!!!

I had a bit of an emergency and I reached out to my State Farm location to get a Letter or Experience emailed to me. My original experience was not a good one. The person who answered the phone was slightly rude and transferred me to someone named Ben who has yet to get back to me.After waiting hours for a call back, I tried again. Lucky for me I got in contact with Lexi Hearn the second time and she was absolutely wonderful. She was so kind and willing to help. She wasn’t able to help me immediately but she did not forget about me and gave me updates along the way. Lexi was wonderful and is definitely an asset to the team. I have been with USAA (by mistake I might add) and was very much mistreated and I am a RETIRED USN Navy Chief Petty Officer and was totally ignored and lied to by USAA.Fortunately I was with State Farm in the past and Miss Jennifer Ortiz handled my car account in the past and still had my home owners insurance. In two phone calls, State Farm agreed to go after USAA for the amount of the damages I was trying to get (7500 dollars) by a USAA insured car that crashed into my house. This showed me the care that I needed and will have again, because as of today USAA is no longer with my account and I have gone back to State Farm for total coverage and I enjoyed the personal service that this office and Miss Jennifer gave. These guys are very good at their job and will find every discount they can for you.

For my accident they did an awesome, so I will give them that. BUT My mother and I have been fighting a payment issue for forever it seems. They LOSE payments and then try to charge you for a double payment and threaten cancellation. So as I write this I am looking for NEW insurance.

Honestly, the worst insurance agency I have ever been with. Adding or removing a car becomes the most complicated thing ever with this agency. I removed 2 cars and 2 drivers and sent proof of new insurance and 3 weeks later I’m getting emails about monthly amount being due and it was the same as if nothing had changed. Each month we never knew what our policy would be as it would fluctuate. For over 20 years I was with Progressive and you get a payment schedule and it’s the same for 6 months ...no such concept with State Farm. Granted we added 2 cars and 2 new drivers, but after adding the 2 drivers we had 3 months where our payment ranged from $450-$740. The agents seem nice enough, but something is lost in translation with this office. Once they even said we would get a $220 credit, only to be billed more...it’s like the Twilight Zone of billing and technology at this office.I’m so thrilled I don’t have to deal with them anymore.

This tiny outdated office on Main St across from the car lot and BB& T needs to update their whole office. It smells like dirty carpet but more like mothballs. Waiting area is small with a 19 tv on the wall. Makes you wonder where is all the premium payments going? Mustbe to keep the lights on and those outdated desktops running slow! Go further down the street to the other Statefarm near Bilo on Main St. Staff there is much friendlier and the decor is so awesome you feel like your at home. Happy Shopping.

Staff always takes care of me

I filed a claim with State Farm on Wednesday, June 15th 2016 for minimal damage to a 2009 Honda Civic.The damage consisted of a broken drivers window, a broken drivers sideview mirror, and a scratched front drivers side quarter-panel.Although the damage was minimal, the drivers side window was broken out. In sweltering summer heat and daily thunderstorms, State Farm insisted that instead of immediately fixing the window (I was at SafeLite at 1:30pm on Wednesday with an emergency appointment) that they would send an adjuster out in three to five business days.Only after I pitched a fit repeatedly via their horrid 800-number claims division on Friday, June 17th, did State Farm agree to finally send a wrecker for my car and a rental, as both are included in my premium policy.On Friday night, the 17th, I remained where I was instructed to wait off of Morrison Ave in downtown Charleston for the arriving tow truck and rental car, neither of which ever showed.When I phoned Enterprise on Meeting Street not far from Morrison, chosen for its close proximity to my location, they told me they would not be picking me up due to the nature of their location, staff, and hours, and that State Farm should have let me know and/or made other arrangements.Mind you, during this experience, whenever I phoned State Farm Claims to find out what the delay was or to raise Cain that the rental nor wrecker was there yet, I had to get back into the waiting queue and start the story over from square one with whatever Good Neighbor I got on the line.Today is the 12th of August 2016. I still do not have my car back.I have filed multiple serious - and seriously detailed - complaints with the State Farm Executive Headquarters. For the past weeks, my claim has been handled exclusively by Kimberly Chung of the executive office, something Charles Chitwood should have done himself. Prior to lodging any complaints above his head I phoned and granted he and his office the courtesy of extinguishing the fire. His office let me know that he was in the building, but unable to take the call.He never called. Ever. Not from the 15th of June through today, the 12th of August.In direct response to the handling of this claim, my parents (differing last name) moved all of their account from Charles Chitwoods office. Can you believe that Charles took the time to phone them personally to leave a message requesting a call back when he caught wind that some accounts walked out!? He still hasnt phoned me, and I can guarantee you that my parents wont be returning his call, either.I believed I had paid my premium policy on time, in full, every month, for years on end to enjoy a premium insurance policy and premium customer service. I was sorely mistaken. It has cost me money, countless hours, and unimaginable grief.Good Neighbor Service ... good riddance!Spare yourself the trauma, drama, and spare your own mama by checking out the other State Farm agents in the area if you insist on the brand. Charles and his office have compromised the State Farm brand at every turn.
