Had an issue where both bolts of one of my brake calipers snapped while driving. Took it to Sudbury Automotive since I had a letter that offered a free oil change so I figured I could get two things done at once. Major red flags here:1) Even though I said that both bolts snapped, they only looked at the bottom bolt and sliding pin (and they have it written on the invoice that it wasnt only one bolt that snapped). To nobodys surprise, the top one snapped again during their warranty period - I called to let them know, but they refused to honor their warranty because they didnt look at the top one and supposedly they used one of the bolts and sliding pins I had in my car, instead of one of their own parts. When I asked why they didnt just use their own part, Pat (he was the one who answered the phone) made up a story of how they didnt have the part in stock that day and I told them to use one of my sliding pins, but he said no, but he still used it even though he said no - couldnt even get his own made up story straight. That never happened - I did have spare bolts and sliding pins in my car, and I showed Pat, outside, in the parking lot, what the issue was; I never told them to use those parts instead of theirs. Theyve cut corners specifically so they dont have to address any warranty issues down the road! Would you really trust them with something like the cars brakes after only doing half the job, and not even that done properly?2) After they performed the oil change, they started sending me texts and letters in the mail that I am due for another oil change after 5,000 miles, because Toyota recommends changing the oil every 5000 miles. Toyota recommends changing the oil every 10,000 miles, this has been the case for years, anyone with access to internet can check it on Toyotas official website, they simply lie about the frequency so they can charge you for oil changes twice as often.3) As a bonus, they made a huge deal about my tires, and how my car wont pass the inspection - when in fact my car passed the inspection just one month before I took it in, and there was no issue with the thread left on my tires. They were just really pushy about selling me new tires.Avoid them at all costs, they are irresponsible with their repairs and will blatantly lie to you about your car in order to make money.
Friendly and respectful staff - responsible price for gas
Always get my gas here. Friendly and fast.
Full service location, good gas at a great price. Can get pretty busy given the lower cost of fuel.
Great place, the owner is very honest and fair!
We have used Sudbury Automotive for over 20 years. Patrick and his staff are courteous, kind, professional, and Patrick always goes out of his way to assist us. Even pulling a car out of the woods for us with great care and success! If you live in the Sudbury/Wayland area, Sudbury Automotive should be your mechanic! Free loaner cars, too!
Pat always gives you honest business. Fair pricing and great service. Pleasure doing business
Awesome service!!😀
Come for the car service, stay for “Guns and Ammo” magazines.
Full serve station with self serve prices,....
Great service! They were quick, friendly, and the price was very reasonable. Thanks Pat!
Great place to stop and get gas or get your vehicle repaired. Their pump attendants always are friendly and extremely helpful even with directions in the area; not to mention theyre funny. Gas prices are always very fair and on par if not below others. The service you get when you need a repair is friendly and knowledgeable. Probably wouldnt go anywhere else to get a fill up or advise on cars. Keep up the good work.
Took my Prius in because the battery keeps dying even after multiple jumps. The battery was replaced in December and is dead since March then COVID hit... Drop off the car and 2 hours later I get, your inspection isnt going to pass because you need new wiper blades (replaced in January), new brakes (replaced in September 2020), tires rotated (the only legit thing that needed outside of the battery issue), and they can only say the battery is dead. This is the second time Ive taken my car here and they try to nickel and dime me to death and try to force things on you that you dont need. And to make matters worse they try to hold you over a barrel to buy these things threatening you with not being able to take your car or to fail your inspection.Do not use this place. It is a sham.
I went for a vehicle inspection. Efficiently done.
Excellent service. The guys were great to deal with! Loved the experience!
The guys are very professional. They take pride in their work. I have had the repair my car twice and I have always enjoyed. Keep it up!
Thank you, Pat, for alerting me to my brake problem during inspection. Safety first!
Nice, honest people and owner. Affordable rates and always has the lowest gas prices. You get an honest estimate for parts and labor and the work performed is always top of the line.
Looking for inspection sticker? They are hard to come by here.1) they listed something on inspection failure report that was working fine.2) after replacing the tire they had an issue with, they claimed a different tire had tread too low and refused to give sticker. That tire wasnt a problem the first time. 2 weeks later its suddenly bad enough to fail me again? What kind of games are they playing?3) They fail for petty reasons. Aside from being a stickler for tire tread, another example is one out of two light bulbs above license plate being out. Really?Took it to my trusted, local mechanic and he couldnt believe they failed me!While in waiting room second time another customer also came back for retest and said similar story that his local mechanic did not think tire was bad enough to fail. So im definitely not the only one frustrated by their BS. Waste of time and money.
They will do the work by the book which is fine if you are absolutely novice at anything car related. Keep in mind doing every single thing by the book will cost you a pretty penny. I did not appreciate the condescending attitude. Always got oil changes here in the past. Will be going to Sullivan tires now.
Fine service and fast, but I was told that Im not allowed to have any LEDs on my car and it it was one of the reasons my car was failed. All of the LEDs were colorless or white, which I confirmed were legal with both another inspector and the RMV. If my mechanic hadnt confirmed all my LEDs were legal before changing them Id be out a substantial amount of money because this shop was unaware of the law.
In and out in 10 min... Great job!
Have lived in Sudbury nearly 16 years and we take all our cars here. We have an Explorer 2002, Toyota Rav 4 2001 and Toyota Echo 2000 - all old cars and still going well. If you dont know anything about cars you have to find someone you can trust. We feel that they are honest and reliable.
Better quality of service than any dealership. Their prices are fair and market priced for European car service. You can pretty much get your car serviced in less than a days notice and most work is done within a day. Icing on the cake is their fleet of well maintained Volvo loaner cars. Ive had 7 of my cars maintained here over the past 10+ years and never had a single issue with their customer service, quality and workmanship. Only once a front brake rotor got warped sooner than anticipated it turned out to be a part defect, Pat stood behind their warranty and replaced it, no questions asked. Dont judge the place from its looks, it is quality service, this is not your typical grease shop found at other gas stations.
Ive stopped here many times to get gas on the way home from Marlborough. They provide full service fill ups with window washing, and the gas prices are usually the same or lower than surrounding stations.I also had the unfortunate event of my battery dying while I was waiting for my tank to fill up (nothing to do with Sudbury Auto). It was just after 5:30pm and they were closing up shop. The mechanic gave me the option of a FREE rental car (which are all Volvos) until they were open again the next day to fix the battery.I dont know if it was my visible frustration with the whole situation (which was my knowing fault), but he looked up the battery part number, said he had the battery in stock, and offered to replace the battery right then and there. It was after closing time and he was very willing to help. Of course I took him up on his repair offer and he fixed it in less than 15 minutes. Great guys who helped me out that day.Pros: Empathetic and knowledgeable service, decent prices, free loaner cars, full service fill-ups, location off of Route 20, local companyCons: Cant find a sign that actually says Sudbury Automotive
Fantastic place run by honest people. My family uses Sudbury Auto even after we moved from Sudbury.
The go-to shop in Sudbury. Fair prices and excellent service.
One of the few gas stations in Metro West with free air.
Sudbury Automotive has expertly serviced and repaired all of our cars since 1986. That is decades of consistently fantastic service and support.
Do not bring your car here for inspection. My husbands car was failed because the tread was too low even though we could not find a thing wrong with the tires. Since we got a fail we had to buy two new tires which we did somewhere else and brought it back for re-inspection. While my husband was in the shop 3 other peoples cars were failed for ridiculous things (i.e. 1 out of 3 bulbs on a taillight was out, one person didnt have her front license plate attached). It is statistically almost impossible to have that many people in a wait money room have a fail on their inspection. It seems like they just want to get as much money from people as possible.
Terrible customer service. Rude front desk
The shop is over seen by a oversized heat miser 😂
They were excellent, several times the local bmw dealership told me i needed additional reparis ( i found out the bmw technicians get a quarterly bonus on new things they find need done ) I went to sudbury automotive, and found i did not need the expensive new things the dealer had recommended
Pat you are good mechanic
Expensive and sloppy. Charged $80 for a synthetic oil change I didnt request which then drained out over the next two weeks because they didnt replace the drain plug gasket. Had the fuel pump replaced which then smelled like raw gas for a week because the didnt change the mounting gasket. The prices charged are only barely lower than a dealer.
Horribly rude and verbally abusive
They pump the gas for you
