Mr Herman Pittman, The head manager does a great job running the facility. During the pandemic he enforced safety to keep all gym members safe. Any questions or concerns you have he’ll take the time out of his day to answer them. He’s a Great asset to the Esporta/La fitness brand

I use to love L.A. fitness when I first signed up a few years back but since then, its been going downhill. The a.c. in the summer runs very poorly and air doesnt circulate well. The basketball court seems to always be under maintenance. They dont keep up with the paper towels or the filling of the hand sanitizing stations. You have to play roulette to fnd a water fountain that runs cold. If we have another shut down, Im definitely canceling my membership and finding a new gym when things open up again.

Received my membership back on yesterday after not being involved in LA fitness for about 3 years now. Staff member Herman helped me out tremendously and set up everything in a timely manner. Good communication skills polite helpful and was quick. Their computer system was a little slow with loading content but he kept conversation going and offered and told me about all other ammentities that the gym offer. Truly a big help. 3 years ago my favorite was heading to cycle class weekly and I look forward to getting back into cycling.

I was traveling for work from Florida and was happy I was next to an LA Fitness ( I also have a planet fitness membership but I prefer to go to la fitness instead) When asked about the water in the vending machine I got an attitude from the front desk help by a girl named Eonya. I told her all the water was out from the vending machine and they should put a sign on there to tel people and she had a rude response “thank you very much, now we know to”. No solution to the problem was just simply rude. If you’re in town traveling save yourself the headache of these people.

I am a business owner and if I hired someone like the person that tried to sign me up for a membership I would be bankrupt. Zero personality, aggressive answers to legit questions. Basically the guy had no personality and looked frustrated doing his job. Walked out and found out that there were other membership options he never discussed because it was just not worth his time. He also never told me that they were really no longer part of LA FITNESS and that i could not use any other LA FITNESS location without a fee .The dude should find a new job!! Guess i will look elsewhere for my membership. The place still looks rundown and dirty like it did prior to COVID with an aggressive staff that does not look very fit!!

Came to this fitness center a few months ago and have thoroughly enjoyed the facilities, the equipment, and the very helpful and friendly staff (shoutout to Anibal — the kid’s going places).Not the biggest fan of some of the clientele; too many try-hards dropping 300-lb weights and shaking plaster down to the next floor and leaving 75-lb dumbbells on the stairs — just lacking some plain and simple common courtesy, and that’s the only thing I’d hold against this club. Aside from that, it’s a great spot and I’d recommend it to anyone in town. 4 stars for sure.

Ive been fitness training for more than 30 yrs. This is the best bang for your buck.

Staff does a great jib keeping everything clean and organized.My only suggestion would be to open an hour or two earlier on weekends. 8am is too late for a lot of busy folks.

The gym itself is great, but the users of said gym are not. This place should honestly have a Lunk alarm like planet fitness. The muscle heads using free weights LOVVVEEE dropping 300+ pounds of weights as hard as they can. We get it, you are trying to act tough. Take that toxicity out of here. If the gym had staff on each floor, it would make for a much better experience.

I love getting back to the gym.There is covid protocol in place- must wear mask and wipe down equipment, social distancing in place with all of the stationary equipment.One must use their social distancing skills in other area where needed.The staff is constantly keeping things wiped down and picked up.There are limited spin classes being offered. Early am is less crowed. Starts to pick up around 10. But it is open quite early.It really comes down to the individual being responsible for their safety and well- being.

Theyve had much better management here for the last year or so. A lot of my former gripes- dirty locker rooms, not refilling paper products/soap, etc- have been mostly taken care of. Overall, a great gym

I feel that management and training staff is doing a great job. I especially feel the personal training department and director has excellent customer service. And tries his best to get people motivated to be the best they can be.

Just came to visit and my experience was nice. I was greeted at the front with smiles and the process to sign up was easy. I usually use the weights and basketball court so I’m happy they have it. This place is always busy. I love it when it’s busy too because the leagues are great. Also the classes are fun, I need to try the boxing. I will invite my friends to join definitely!

LA FITNESS. NOT ESPORTA FITNESS. I have been a member here since 2016. Ive had no issues until COVID hit and they did handle closing, sending notice and stopping payments appropriately and professionally. However! I was NOT notified they were re-opening and have had multiple payments deducted from my account. Ive have friends that say their own Gyms did the same thing. I truly believe this was an attempt to keep people from canceling and get money hoping it would go unnoticed by enough people to make a financial difference. I am not happy about this. Frankly if they had notified me they were re-opening I would have canceled my membership. Very unprofessional.

Just signed up. The pool is nice (good temperature). The people who showed me around were kind, helpful, and knowledgeable.I wish they had personal trainers that could help me set up a program. (You cant just sign up for one or 2 sessions, you have to sign up for a year, at $135 minimum. I cant financially do that, and it makes me very sad!)

I have been a LA Fitness member for last two years. It is a great place but lastly started loosing its quality. Last time I have visited, a person at the main desk introduced himself as manager(later we figured out that he is not the manager) has no idea about his own companies policies. My son registered as a guest under my account after he turned in 13 and we have used the pool for last couple weeks. Somehow on that day, the person at the main desk stopped us and become very nasty to me for no reason in front of my son. He tried not to allow him to enter because of his age. He claimed this is LA Fitness policy. After he made a phone call, he changed his mind but still displayed same behavior without any apology. Obviously, he was not aware of the his own companys policies and his customer service was horrible. After a quick check on Internet, this is what I found: All guests must prove that they are at least 16 years of age (or at least 13 years of age and accompanied by a parent or legal guardian) and sign a waiver of liability to use club facilities; a parent or legal guardian must sign the waiver of liability on behalf of guests under 18 years of age. . Please train the people who are at main desk about your policies and good customer service. I have been recommending LA fitness to the people working in my company but I will think one more time...

I’m happy with this club! Mostly cause the pool, sauna and jacuzzi! This club is huge, 3 floors and plenty of equipment. Most of my friends come here to lift weights and play basketball. It’s usually busy randomly so I come in the evenings after work. I highly recommend this fabulous facility!

My Home gym. This gym has it all and is a complete gym. Doesnt need anything else.I love it.

Came into the gym today to switch my billing to a different bank account. I learned that my account had been behind on 3 months of payments when I was unable to use the gym during that time period. Herman was awesome in helping me resolve this by waiving the 3 Months of payments that I did not use the facility, Herman saved me about $100. Super nice guy and he went above and beyond to help me. Thank you Herman!

Been a member on and off for 5 years, have always loved this facility and its members. Recently i needed to cancel my membership, id been having a difficult time doing so until Herman stepped in and took care of it nice and quick. Ive been other places in the past where the staff no longer cares to help you or go out of their way if youre trying to cancel a membership, but because Herman was as good of a dood as he is ill definitely be coming back to this gym when the time is right for me

Amazing gym! This club has it all, basketball court, pool, jacuzzi, sauna, etc! Definitely recommend bringing friends and family members here. It’s a very big gym too, three floors feels like a lot but it’s perfect. The trainers are great to work out with also, very experienced indeed. I had a leg injury and they helped me get back into shape. Again amazing gym, well recommended.

My favorite gym of all time! This place is 3 floors and huge! Not to mention it has a pool and sauna. And since this place is so big, you can find your own corner to workout in without feeling like youre being watched/stared at. Its always clean and the staff are friendly and ready to help. Awesome basketball court with gorgeous view of the river! Love the swimming pool and hot tub. They finally got the heat fixed in the pool area so its perfect!

I love the ZUMBA!!!!! Lisa and Andrea are great instructors. Best class I’ve had so far and there’s a lot of people inside this class so they all love it. Great music too. You need to try it out because you will love it.

I switched from planet fitness to LA fitness and Im glad I did. The gym is really nice and always clean. The staff is great and super nice especially Derek. He helped sign me up and offered to create a work out for me. He always has a smile on his face and greets everyone at the door. I highly recommend the gym and ask for Derek. Hes always there!

One of the better la fitness I have been to locally but after 10 years a member here with a national account where I visit across the country and other gyms in the area, its like they invest 0 into this place. Very minimal upgrades from 10 years ago re arranging weights doesnt count. Misisng the basic stuff like no trap bars, very basic cable attachments missing v bars, wide grip row bars, very basic leg equipment. Could be so much better.

I really dont like this place no more. It needs major Renovation. It is so old. Things break all the time specially the SPA.The sanitation system is a struggle. People are friendly but I don’t see how it takes 3 days to fix the damn sauna. I didn’t pay to wait for three days. It is ridiculous. I’m not happy with this place no more.

The staff, trainers and resources here are phenomenal. Every time I went they were motivating and positive.Especially appreciative to Herman who was helpful with giving me options when unexpected family financial problems came up.Would recommend this Facility to anyone who is genuine about trying to get results, support and positive exercise environment.

It’s a decent enough place. As someone who swims exclusively it’s quite frustrating though. If and when the pool and spa are open and working they’re pretty nice. Of course that’s about 50% of the time, the other half one or both are closed. There’s frequently no sign up front or on the door so I get changed and then find the door locked, kind of an unpleasant surprise. It’s also about 55 degrees on the pool room on any given day, so what could be a beautiful aquatic exercise area is instead more akin to a frozen wasteland. I’m sympathetic that sometimes issues arise, I get it... but these issues are consistent and ongoing and it seems to me that if anyone actually cared they could be fixed easily. I’m not sure exactly what the issue is, but when for months on end they persist it would seem to indicate a greater problem overall. It’s disappointing because there is so much potential.

Just had to give a quick shout out to LA fitness and the great people they got working for their staff. So I lost my gold necklace there the other day and hopeless about getting it back, the staff there said they would do everything to try and get it back. Sure enough I woke up this morning to a phone call saying that they had found it. Thanks to the good honest people they got working there I was able to get my necklace back. Couldn’t thank them enough. They have always been super helpful as far as billing goes and trying to accommodate the needs of their guest. Once again big thanks to LA fitness and the staff that works there, I would recommend this gym to anyone!

Its unfortunate that with the price in fees doesnt amount to this gym, the odor in the men locker room n basketball space is a shame....they might have planty of equipment, yet its old...I can honestly say, about 5% of members wipe down the equipment after use, which is not sanitary, especially when many attend the gym without showering beforehand or use the bathroom while working out...it must be living the life sitting down n talking all throughout your shift while bathrooms have no toilet paper...holes in the walls for months, yet u charge an initiation fee which with just one new member u can buy plaster m fix it 🤷🏻‍♂️

My family loves this gym! There’s plenty of things to do here like swimming in pool, jacuzzi, sauna. My son plays basketball and my wife does Zumba. I could invite my friends too and they usually join right away. Clean facility as well because I see the janitors working as hard as possible to keep things clean all the time. I wish I could email a thank you letter but this review would help as well.

Great place to workout. Plenty of free weights and machines. It can get busy as you would expect but overall its usually pretty easy to be able to use the equipment you want to because there is so much.

Went in to cancel my membership, heard it was difficult to do but the gentleman behind the desk was very helpful and even offered to refund this month and last months fees. Got the email confirmation soon there after.

I joined since the memberships are no contracts and is a monthly subscription. Very easy and fast to sign up as well. I highly recommend to anyone looking for no contract gym.

Let me start by saying that I go to other LA Fitness gyms regularly in addition to this one: this is my take Springfield.I agree with all of the not so great reviews on here. There are no exaggerations. Legit this is just a gym not a gym community. Very cliquey sort of a stank environment from the regulars and the staff. Often no paper towels or toilet tissue and no staff is wandering around to ensure these things are taken care of. Not enough disinfecting stations; folks just grunt, sweat, and walk away from machines. You never see staff cleaning either.Also the machines are set up weird so youll have to walk from floor to floor to fully get your workout in. Its not terrible but def needs some work.On the up side: great size gym. You cant beat the view. Great amenities. Good location and if you can set aside all of the shenanigans - youll surely get a great workout.

I’ve been coming to this gym since January now. Some of the staff that works there doesn’t seem to really care about who walks through the door except for Hunter. He’s always really welcoming and nice. He is always very energetic and really takes pride in his job. There have been plenty of times where he will help me out if I have questions. The best thing about LA is that it’s very clean and safe.

Dramatic improvements over the past year or so. The main manager, Herman, seems to be working overtime to make the gym more user-friendly, cleaner, and host to a better social atmosphere. Ive been going to this gym for around 9 years, but recently it seems to have a better look and vibe all around. The greatest improvement has been the cleanliness of the facility.

Derek is awesome. Abby is too. The equipment selection is great and when things break, they fix them. Not too hard to get a week or 3 day trial to get a feel for the gym before you pay. No other gym in the area can match LA Fitness.

The staff overall are always smiling and welcoming, and professional!The locker room and gym are very clean and outstanding!

Since new management has taken over the building as done a complete 360. Herman Pittman the new operations manager has turned Springfield LA fitness into safe,clean, and friendly environment. The facilities are clean and management is moving around non stop correcting issues within the gym. I recommend this gym to anyone looking for a great environment to workout in. Like the place very clean and the machines were in a very good condition. Also love the spa, the only thing is that I really dont like is that the pool is the divided. So you really cant go if they are to many people in.

I just want to thank Herman Pittman so much for helping me out when I thought someone got into my locker today while using the gym. He was extremely professional and caring about the situation. Thankfully we were able to locate my belongings. And this is the only gym I go to in the area.

Pleasantly surprised !!! There is a ton of really nice equipment that is organized according to whatever type of workout you want. Compared to other gyms I have belonged to....it is very clean and well kept. The staff is great ! They make an effort to get to know you and to make you feel comfortable.
