It’s taken a while to write this, but I am so grateful for the kindness and warmth Ruth shared with my family after the passing of my father. We had to start this long process from thousands of miles away and when other funeral homes were cold, corporate, and without help, Ruth made us feel like we were right there and in safe hands. When we finally arrived in person, she was calm, informative and communicative as we navigated this difficult time with no prior experience.One (of many) kind things she did for us was show us her own fathers cremated remains and spoke very calmly about the process of cremation, answering all of our questions. At a time when our family was mourning the death of my wife in December 2020, we contacted Lay to Rest on the advice of Sentara Hospital personnel--and we were so very thankful that we did. Ruth, a co-owner, provided us with outstanding services in detailing the cremation process and was the most compassionate and caring person you could hope for.
