Unfortunately, it was bad hair cut as if someone learning for the first time. I had to fix my self after I left.

When I went a while back, I asked for a part in my hair. The guy who cut my hair actually cut into my scalp with the razor. That left blood spots and I could feel it for a week.

Walked in 20 minutes before closing. First time at barbershop. Did not have to wait very long for a haircut. I told the barber how I would like to have my haircut and to my amazement it was exactly what I had asked for! I asked him to do a minor adjustment and humdinger! A perfect haircut! I’m not sure if this is something that other people have come across in getting their haircut but the last barber that was cutting my hair at another barbershop,did not use scissors. He just used clippers for the most part from what I can remember. I think this might have been the difference to some degree! Also it is very obvious to me that the barbers at Walnut St., Barber shop are very good barbers! I forgot the barber’s name that cut my hair but I will edit this review and put his name in the review the next time I get my haircut. Also they have been in business since 1943! I guess that about sums it up! I look forward to many more great haircuts from this Barbershop!

Ive been going to Walnut Street Barbershop for over 20 years. John Gann was my barber until he retired several years ago. Then his son Russell took over the shop and my haircuts. Ive always been very pleased with the results. Recently I stopped in for a cut and Russell had several cuts ahead of me and I was in a rush so I let Amy. Russells wife give me a cut. I was not only very satisfied but recieved several comments and complements from friends and family. Probably the very best haircut Ive ever had. Thank you to the Ganns for running such a quality Barbershop for many many years.

I usually go here. Spent the last few times no longer than 5 min. 12 dollar haircuts. Far as I know cash only but its great. Only once was I upset but not everyone is perfect. We all win and lose some. I recommend this place.

Ive been getting my hair cut at Walnut Street Barber Shop for several years now. Its a no frills super affordable traditional style barbershop. Ive always been able to walk in without an appointment and have never had to wait for more than 10 minutes. The employees are friendly and good at what they do. I recently learned the barbershop has been in business for over 70 years and Im not surprised.

I first came here for a haircut a few months ago after learning that the place I used to go for haircuts closed. The staff here is very friendly and courteous. Last time I went there around 8:00 AM on a Tuesday morning, and I was in and out in about 10 minutes. I always get a buzz cut, which they offer at a discounted rate of $8. Great service at a great price!

Coming from chains like Great clips, sports clips, etc. Here you can get better quality at a lesser price without the barbers trying to sell you something constantly. Friendly and very effiecient staff. If you are in the Springfield area you owe it to yourself to try this place, and also make sure you bring cash.

Ive been here twice, and both times were great. With several months in between cuts, they managed to remember me and my wife (even with her not having her hair cut). They always provide good conversation while getting the job done, and their prices are hard to beat. This is absolutely the epitome of what a barber shop should be. Quick, simple, no frills and cheap. They dont take credit card but it doesnt matter because they do a great job and there is an ATM right around the corner. I am always in and out of there in less than 30 minutes and I am always completely happy with how I look afterwards.

This place us unreal!!! The owner and operator is Mr Russ, and he just so happens to be the best barber in town. In saying that I want to clarify they he is not the most trendy, the most gimmicky, most flashy, most daper, the most hawk like, or the most expensive. If youre the type of person looking for those type of things more power to you, and let me tell you this IS NOT the place for you. I was in from NY and had 1 day only to get a haircut. I was lucky enough to find this place. Don’t be fooled by the no frills atmosphere or the modest price of a haircut, these guys are professionals and are very good at what they do.

Great haircuts, great price. Cool guys and the best price in town. They only accept cash, but its definitely worth it. And FYI, theres an ATM in the Bistro on the opposite corner.

Owner works one of the chairs. Baseball is usually on the TV (and is usually muted). Conversation has always been polite - I have not seen how they handle a customer who wants to talk politics - but seems clear that (unlike at some shops), they do not treat their customers as a captive audience. As for the haircut, good value for the price. Nothing fancy. Classic barber shop. A year later I stand by this review.

A real barber shop, with real barber services, staffed by real barbers. Not like one of those trendy barbershops popping up everywhere that give you salon services and prices. They are cash only, they cut hair and trim beards, and theyre fantastic at what they do.

Your standard, all American barber shop. I think they offer some of the fancier man grooming services like beard oil and whatever, but you can bet they wont need to ask what number clipper you want like Supercuts

If I had to describe my haircut Id say its a mix of being cut with a chainsaw a butter knife and the barber fighting off bumble bees and rabid wolves. Sadly will have to wait until Monday for a proper haircut.

I’ve had my hair cut here twice and both times were the worst haircuts I’ve ever got. I told his man three separate times exactly what I wanted and he still managed to mess my head up. He cut it way too short and I’m not even sure what’s going on up top. I wish I could just put all my hair back and go somewhere else to get it redone, but that’s the worst part about a bad haircut, you can’t do anything about it, especially if they cut all the length off and leave you wth nothing to do with it (which again, told him to leave most of the length). All my friends get their hair cut here and now I see why, because they all just get regular white guy hair cuts that more or less all look the same. Idk if the guy that cut my hair was just higher than I was or if he’s just bad at cutting hair but I will not be going back here again.
