I’m not really “high maintenance” in any way, really. I typically just get a haircut and an eyebrow wax. A few months ago I came in here for a trim and wax. Showed up early only to 1- Not get seen til 45 minutes AFTER my appointment. 2- Had to still go home and pluck my eyebrows because she botched it. 3- Had to listen to her manager berate her for not charging a previous customer adequately. And 4- I swear to GOD, she combed my hair back and literally made TWO snips at the tip of my hair and called it done. I didn’t complain, whine- nothing. Just paid and walked because I didn’t ever think I’d ever fathom coming back. And frankly, with the unprofessional attitude I witnessed, didn’t trust the employees.Fast Forward to this week. Stopped by when I was shopping and saw new employees. Figured- I’ve never been wronged except that one time. Why not give them another chance? Right? Wrong. Wanted to make an appointment and the lady, visibly busy said “it’ll be a lot easier if you book an appointment on the app!” I’ve been busy before and understand so that’s exactly what I did. I set the appointment for 6:15pm on Wednesday afternoon. The app, Google and posted store hours said they closed at 7. I’m literally ONLY getting a cut. No shampoo or waxing. Show up for my appointment, early as usual, and the place is closed. I looked again online, “Closes at 7pm”. Called the other Smart Styles in the area- all closed. Check my email and sure enough, got an email saying “Appointment Confirmation”. Why did I not get a call, email, text, anything? Why are the hours wrong everywhere? And what’s with your employees lately???What the heck is going on with this company? I don’t even know. But that’s ok- scheduled an appointment with Bayalage and Cut with a nearby salon. Calling it quits on this company.

Went in to get my eyebrows waxed. The lady was not to enthusiastic about having a customer, but she set me up. I got my eyebrows waxed and a few minutes in my left eye was really hurting. She said I put some aloe to calm the skin, ok great paid and went on my way. This is 2 days later!!!!! She burned my skin!!!!! Would NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!!

Nice hair salon thats always changing stylists, so go if you like change. Well stocked for hair shampoo, conditioner and styling products. Can almost always get you in as long as they still have time in the day to get you done. Appointments are good, but walk-ins work, too. If you are looking to get something done last minute, you should try them out.

My 18 year old went and had her hair done today. First time I let her go by herself and they completely took advantage of her. She was told it would be $120 plus a 10% discount because she works for Walmart. They charged her $200 and I completely think it’s because she is young and naive and didn’t really question why it was so much more. Not one time did they inform her they were going to charge her more till it was all done and over. Very bad work ethics. I get everyone needs to make a dollar but to take advantage of a young person still learning how to do things on her own is completely wrong.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I took my daughter for a back to school haircut, we were rushed by Morgan she absolutely butchered my daughters hair!! Worst haircut I have ever seen. I asked for a call back from the manager and have been waiting for 3 days and have not heard anything. I just want a refund so I can take my child to get her hair fixed. Let this be your warning dont let Morgan or any other stylist at smartstyle salon near your hair! I should have known better!

Got my daughters and my haircut here. The wonderful lady with the blue streaks through her hair did an amazing job on both of us. My daughter is very shy and normally doesnt talk to anyone and this lady had her chatting. We got slightly different versions of the Bob haircut and we both love our hair. We will definitely be going back when we need future cuts. I wish I could remember the ladys name to give her the credit she deserves.

She took time to make sure my thick hair was layered way I like it and she was great about telling me what it would take for a color I will be going to her for to do! Robbie did a great job fixing my hair after a mess up from another place. A great atmosphere, all of my family comes here! They have several customers who come in and they always make sure to get them done in a timely manner. I’ve never had any issues with this place. We come here every time we get a haircut.

Went in and asked for a quick buzz, mind you they had no one in the shop. I was told they couldnt get to me until 3, because they are mixing color. Um dont you have to wait on the color. You couldnt do it between the wait.

These women gave me my hair back! They didnt judge me after I walked in and showed them my mess of a head. Depression is a serious issue and they made me feel good again. They were literally a God send to me. I couldnt have asked for better people to get help from. If I remember correctly their names were Sidney and Robbie. Thank you two for everything!! ❤❤

Always friendly, Robin is amazing. Ive always been very conservative and do the same thing. But with Robin she learns your style and trys to maintain it while letting you grow outside of the box.

My husband and I have been going to the Smart Style in the Sunshine Walmart, to have our hair cut, for the last 5 years. The ladies have always done a good job. Today, Stephanie and Sierra, raised the bar to great. They both had wonderful customer service, a fantastic chair side manner and their work is the best weve ever received. Great job, ladies!!

I go to smartsyles on sunshine in Springfield Mo. Robbie is the best one and I only have her to do my hair. She gets my hair the way I like it. I refer her to people.

I wont be back. When getting my haircut and done. It looked good. They were busy. I went home washed it. Then I noticed. She got the length right but not in layers. My sides are uneven. One layer is short and one is longer. I pull my hair up to hide the problem. My bangs are uneven. Well I was getting my haircut two called and complained. Never again

I have tried to give this smart style chance after chance.. I rarely ever write reviews but wouldn’t want anyone to have any problems. First of all I had temporary brown color on my hair it was approximately 4 months old. By the way I want to be 100 percent fair! I have pictures of what my hair looked like when I first came in, after they colored it, after they colored it again.. and finally what it looks like now that it’s acceptable. My first experience came when my mother and I made an appointment a while back, we came in the afternoon before and made an appointment for the following day; we came in ten minutes early. Robbie the manager, was doing her daughters hair while her children ran around. I have severe anxiety and my mother had issues with her ankle- we both take medication for said health issues.. we waited for 57 minutes for our appointment! But oh well life happens and no one is perfect. Her attitude left something to be desired but everyone is different and have a different way of handling things. Last Sunday, I came in With a picture of what I would like, my hair was brown, I have proof of this. I was there from 130 til almost closing, it looked nice, I liked it- it didn’t look like the picture but I liked it. I washed my hair Tuesday night and when I woke up Wednesday morning my hair looked not very nice.. the blonde had brassy orange tones and it was patchy in places.. they blamed this on the temporary brown color I had used four months prior... i apologized and apologized but including product and tip I had spent over 105.00 dollars. So the same girl did my redo.. and before the manager left she showed me a picture I said ok I can be happy with that, I continued to apologize. I was there from 530 til after close... my hair was black with ash mixed in! It looked like grey!!! I tried to be nice, gave a tip and left. The next day I was so upset with the results my family thought it looked awful as well! I was at the mall with my mother and thought there’s a salon I’ll ask their opinion. The young lady said it would cost fifty something to fix, she said it was like they were going for a peakaboo or something. I called corporate three times, the stylist said come in Monday and Robbie will do your hair. I call the manager Robbie the next day, and she was RUDE and lied, told me what I was saying was a lie!!! I spoke to a gentleman that she had drug into it, and spoke to the higher up, a very kind lady. I called corporate crying my eyes out!!!! Everyone except her, was very kind and thoughtful! I was told I would be issued a refund, and it will be here in 7-10 days. I had an engagement come up and needed help ASAP! I had gone to the smart style in republic before and they always did good. When I got there the stylist couldn’t believe my hair!!!!! They were just as mortified as me. They were so awesome and walked me through every step. It cost me 72 dollars and change but at least my hair looks decent and is healthier!!!!! The only reason I went ahead and had this done is because I will be receiving a refund for the heck I went thru at the w sunshine. Salon. I am so grateful to the stylist at republic for being there for me, I don’t know how she got my hair healthy again. It still isn’t what I came in wanting, but it looks nice and is healthier, I can’t stress that enough. Also it is closer to what I wanted then what I got either times at w sunshine. I am going to try to see if there is a way to upload pictures here. This post is in no way to be taken as disrespect or to cause imbarassment to anyone. I have no personal problems with anyone who works at the w sunshine salon- I can only speak as a customer.. also, when I made small talk with several cashiers, they told me their horror stories about the manager Robbie. Experiences they had and some were experiences that a few friends of theirs have had. I personally will take my business to the republic and independence locations. God bless!

Poorly management. Schedule only 1 person who states that are booked full, ALWAYS.. Never have a stylist for walkins, however state they do mainly walkin business. Gave it one more try, yep full. Funny, last review on Facebook ..they blocked me. Not sure all Smart Style are run this way, forget this one if I was yall.

They frequently turn people away on couple hours before they close and constantly try and get out of the extras they say come with their haircut. Staff mentions about how terrible their day has been and makes experience quite awkward when you are able to get in. Go somewhere else!

Stopped by my local Walmart just to pick up Shampoo for myself and my daughter. The girl that was working there was very rude and unprofessional. Was mean to my 2 year old:( I purchased some Paul Mitchell products that I have used for years and when I got home realized there were something wrong with them. They smelled like something spoiled, not good at all. I took them immediately back at let that same lady know thy they might be expired. She of course rolled her eyes at me and never acknowledged anything I was saying. Obsolutely awful customer service, would never go there for hair care, and also will never purchase hair care products from there!! BEWARE!

Made an appointment for the next day Thursday December 29 when I got there I was told it would be an hour first come first serve. That is not what they said when appointment was made and I have made appointments in the past and the girl working was RUDE never go there again

I got my hair done about a month ago. I havent really had time to fix it but I fixed it last night and the cut is terrible! I didnt get a good cut and I didnt get the color I went in there for. Really upset about this seeing as to how I spent so much.
