I had Emily for my haircut and she was super sweet and did a great job! Very satisfied with my haircut! I dont usually go to salons because I dont like the atmosphere but this place was welcoming and kind! Bernie even came over and was so funny and sweet! I will definitely be going back!

Sarah did such an amazing job! I went from black hair to a gorgeous brown color with caramel highlights. She and Brandi got me in at the last second and worked a miracle! I am a person who once I find a barber, now stylist, I hold onto them. Even after moving to Springfield in 1985, I use to go back home to Champaign for my guy until he too moved away.Then I had to find someone new - GASP!A friend suggested Bernie at Appearances when it was located at Vinegar Hill by the Capital and I knew I had found my hair home!Stayed with Bernie when they relocated to Springfields westside but as he got so busy himself, I knew I needed a backup and started anew with Wayne.Was with Wayne till he retired and now I discovered Miles.I cant say enough about Miles. He truly learned from Bernie and Wayne and has also kept his clients desires and interests at the forefront. In fact I just left there and good God I missed coming here since the pandemic began. I am back where I want to be and glad I took the chance nearly 25+ years ago and once again with Miles as he knows his stuff!!!PS. Whoops! I failed to comment on the other staff, especially at the front desk. They do a wonderful job and Bernie and the rest of the stylists should be proud of how they take care of their clients AND represent Appearances.No names as they are ALL great!

My first time at this salon, it was clean and professional. I had a private pedi room and Lauren did a fantastic job on my toes then I got my brows done by Aldona and she made it so fun, quick and painless!

Tim was mindful of my wishes, took his time, and did a FANTASTIC job with my cut. I am always a bit uneasy when getting cuts as my hair is short, and I am quite picky. His skill is top notch.

The staff at the front desk was extremely friendly and welcoming. My stylist Jenn was great and paid a lot of attention to detail. She was really nice and did a remarkable job. I moved to Springfield in July and have been to 4 different places and I was completely unsatisfied. The service was never good and the salons themselves didn’t feel welcoming. This was my first time coming to this salon. I will definitely be back.

It truly is a full service salon with emphasis on service. Cara has enhanced my appearance through her creative suggestions on color and style. She also takes the time to explain how I can recreate the style at home.

Alison is an amazing stylist who really cared about what I thought while the cut was occurring. She was really easy to connect with and made me and my partner feel very welcome in the salon. I would recommend her as a stylist to anyone and I was impressed with the salon’s atmosphere.

Bernie gives an excellent haircut, is professional and personable, and inexpensive. I would recommend him and Appearances to anyone who wants a professional, quality hair style or cut.
