Came in in a hurry and they were able to help me out with my car and get me back on the roads in no time!
They go the extra mile. Needed an after market part. They found it for me, once found they had me back on the road in 2 days. I highly recommend this place.
Ed is a great guy. Bought a couple of cars through him and have been happy with the results. My newest one I purchased about a month ago and I absolutely love it. It had a few cosmetic issues but Dustin went to Buddys with me, got the parts and put them on for me. They have gone over and above for me. Whenever Ive had an issue they have dealt with it quickly and efficiently. Ed and Dustin are wonderful and I wouldnt trust my vehicles with anyone else! The new shop is awesome if you havent seen it you should stop by. They will treat you right and at a reasonable price plus they stand by their work. You couldnt find a better shop. I would definitely recommend them for any work that you might need done.

Super reasonable. Same day service.
I was with someone who use their service. They were very friendly and clean. I really liked the place. I will come back here if I ever need their service. Its a great place.
I first went to Eds to get an inner tie rod end replaced. Afterwards i took it to get inspected and found out eds had put it on the wrong side, and the inspector also said the rack was leaking oil so I took it back to Eds and told them to go ahead and replace the whole rack. They told me it would be cheaper to use a used part and I said that was fine as long as it would work and pass inspection. The guy also told me he would put on the new inner tie rod that I had already paid for onto the used rack. I took it to get aligned and the technician said they couldnt do the alignment because both of the inner tie rods were bad and loose which means he never put the new tie rod that I paid for back on. The technician also said that the rack was leaking really bad which is why I got it replaced in the first place. I understand its a risk to use used parts but thats just unbelievable that it would be in that bad of shape and that they would send me off with it like that. We called up to Eds to tell him and he just said its our fault for letting them use used parts and that they did their job. He was being really rude and I didnt want to ever deal with them again. So now I have to pay for another shop to replace the entire thing even though i already spent like $400 at Eds.
Very professional service nice clean environment. Theh had my car done the same day. Thank you Eds! Ill defitily come back and recommend anyone else to come to you guys!
They are so good with prices! I love how they fix up the cars they are just so amazing in general I highly suggest them for sure!
I had a good experience with Ed and the staff at this auto shop. Even the cats were mostly nice to me. A mask is not required at this shop and I thought the prices were reasonable. I will be going back in the future.
Very nice 👍 people very friendly and helpful very good work I would recommend them everyone
Eds has been great! He is very knowledgeable and honest. His prices are fair and reasonable as well. Thanks Ed!

Best auto shop in Springfield. Straight shooters and great prices. Wont take my vehicles anywhere else.
I love going to this place when Im having any difficulties with my car!
Great service, got it done quickly with quality work, great prices.
Good clean place good prices friendly service
I will not take my car anywhere else. I always get a good deal at Eds, its always fixed in a timely manner, and they have great customer service.
Great services quick and cheap. Quality work!
They have great service, very respectful, also good with time management!
I purchased a 2008 Jeep Patriot from Eds Auto Repair in February 2019. He had lost his dealers license and filled out the title transfer paperwork as a current dealer. We received a letter from the Department of Revenue stating the issue, and that the paperwork would need to be sent back to Eds Auto Repair for correction. Long story short, months have passed and we are stuck with a vehicle we cant legally tag/drive because of his avoidance of what should have been a simple fix on his part. We have received a list of excuses. He admitted he had 4 other titles that he had to redo due to the same issue. We are now forced to take legal action against Eds Auto Repair as he will not answer my phone calls and has blocked me from messaging him. Such a disappointing experience. I would highly discourage taking your business here. If they are such a dishonest business I cant imagine the other services they are quality. I am sure there will be an unintelligent response to this review, as there was for the other negative reviews. Everything in my review is indeed fact. I approached the issue nicely, and continued to be civil despite rude replies. I regret that it has come to this.
Very good quality and good customer service to very good people
The place is clean. Good customer service and did a good job on car
An honest shop that has always worked hard to get the job done on time. I went in for an oil change and the cost was only $20 for high quality synthetic blend oil that I couldnt buy from the store for close to $20. Hes doing some work on a van of ours, replacing a broken radiator and a new grill, for a third of what it would cost at a dealership. I really appreciate the service that Ed and his crew offers. His prices are low and his shop is small, but you treat him and his employees with respect and you can expect a good experience.
Eds Auto Repair came recommended by a Body Shop repair specialist. After some auto body repair work, my wife asked who is cheap and trust worthy that can fix the A/C in her van.Ed and his team are very good people. They will take care of your vehicle as if it were their own. Over the past couple of years, I have taken my two old (2006) vans to them for various repairs and maintenance. What I really like is that Ed really knows cars from 30+ years of experience. He only charges $45 per hour ... book rate, and he guarantees his work for two year; most part replacements are guaranteed for life of the vehicle. This is a one stop shop for most of my needs. He does not do alignments.I have four boys that now have cars and I have had all of them take their vehicles to Eds because he can be trusted and he will not try to up-sale on the work like so many others. Now, I tell my sons to have their church friends go to Eds Auto Repair!
Ed’s auto is without a doubt the very worst place of so called business that I’ve ever had to deal with, I took my 16 yr old daughters car there to have it fixed, it needed a front end piece called a cradle replaced, after paying 500.00 to fix it, it wouldn’t pass inspection because the cradle eds so called auto didnt even tighten the bolts, what a joke, and the so called lead Mechanic likes talking crazy to ladies and my 16 yr old daughter who had a heart transplant. I highly DO NOT recommend these shade tree Mechanic’s
Best auto mechanic shop I have used. Car was out within 24 hours of drop-off. Compared to other mechanics that diagnosed the car, Eds was 80% cheaper (no joke)! Part of this reason is because the other shops wanted to repair multiple parts of the car, while Eds fixed the root cause. What sold me on Eds was that Ed was friendly and great to talk with; his mechanics the same. I will be back!
Best service and friendly ppl
ED IS THE MAN! You are too Dustin lol. Thanks for all the work you have done to help me maintain my vehicles and keep them running! Help support our local businesses!
They have good pricing and good quality products!!
Honest and great prices
A few years ago, I needed a new mechanic for service and repairs. I called a friend of mine that I trust and he sent me to Ed. Ed did such a great job for the most reasonable prices Id ever paid, that I only go to him now. Ed and his guys perform all oil changes, transmission service and any other maintenance on all the vehicles, as well as a few major repairs, for everyone in my family. Eds been our guy for 4 years now. He has always done exactly what he said he would do and for the price he quoted. If you want it done right the first time for less than the other guys charge, I recommend you go to Ed. He gets me the best tire prices too!
Ive been a customer of Eds since he first opened his shop several years ago. His prices are excellent, which helps us out with our budget. Also, he always stands behind his work. Plus, Ive found Ed to be honest in every dealing Ive had with him. Overall, its a great place to take my cars for repairs and inspections.
Ed and his Men put a rebuilt engine in my 1998 Malibu that had under a Hundred Thousand Miles on it. They worked sun up to sun down on it until it was done. When I got it back I noticed that the Muffler was leaking and Ed told me to bring it back and they would take care of it. A couple of things here and there but Ed is taking care of it for me. My Pastor recommend Ed to me and I recommend Ed’s Garage to Anyone who needs Any kind of Car problems. Price is Very reasonable and the work is Professional and Guaranteed . I give them Five Stars and Two Thumbs Up 👍👍. And since then I’ve had a issue with the antifreeze reservoir. I asked Ed how much that he would charge me to install one that I purchased online and Ed said to just bring it in and they would install it for nothing. I bought the crew lunch👍! Now that’s Service 🥇. Thanks Ed.
They were quick and efficient
Unknown who used my name and poc, I DID NOT REVIEW YOUR SERVICE
Best service and price in town
This is a lengthy one, but worth the read if you’re even considering spending a dime at this place. My power steering pump went out and we had been going to Ed’s for a couple years at this point (because it’s so cheap) with only good experiences so we saw no reason to go anywhere else for such a simple problem. We brought it in and received the call that it was done a few days later. We went and picked it up and the second we drove off the lot, the car still whined. This happened two more times (so a total of 3 times of bringing the car to them for a power steering pump). After the third time, the power steering pump was finally fixed, however, when we reached around 20 mph, there was a rumbling sound coming from the front passenger side wheel (we thought bearings maybe?). It seemed odd that bearings would all of a sudden go bad, especially after being in the shop for weeks. So instead of messing with Ed’s shop again with this new problem, we went to a different shop that my dad had been using for years. This shop was significantly more expensive per hour but we wanted a different opinion than Ed’s shop.We did not tell this other mechanic a THING about the power steering pump, or Ed’s shop, or even that it had been in the shop for a couple weeks. The mechanic (again...completely on his own) immediately asked us if the bearings had been worked on by anyone recently. We said no. He said that it looked like someone had been in there and beat the hell out my bearing with a hammer.Like I said, we (as well as my father in law) had been dealing with Ed and his shop for years at this point and had only good experiences up until this point so we never once thought it was Ed himself or that Ed even knew about this. We felt we would try and help Ed out and alert him to the possibility that someone in his shop is conducting very sketchy business. We VERY nicely took Ed aside and explained the situation. We told him that another professional is the one who confirmed this vandalism, and he immediately became defensive, refused to even apologize or check with his employees and get back with us. He made sure to tell us that his guys would never do that and we were more than welcome to keep going to this other mechanic and continued to push us out the door.Ed then called my father in law, trying to find the name of the mechanic who told us what Eds shop did.All that to say, be careful using mechanics just because they’re cheap. The extra money is sometimes worth it to avoid instances like this!
My mother brought my 04 impala in after issues with the maf sensor & a broken mounting bolt. What they did instead of tapping a new home for a new mounting bolt, they replaced the entire intake manifold. As for my maf sensor problem, they just cleared the codes & called it fixed. Not to mention they own a tire shop but still let me drive my car without telling me the back tire was so cupped wires were sticking out. They also broke off my evap line & plugged it w a bolt then said that they didn’t do that even though they 100% definitely did. I‘m not an idiot. When we took it back to let them know, they said they had no way of knowing & just to drive w/o the maf sensor even though it was sent in w the only code being for the maf sensor. When I got my car back, it looked like a tweaker had been working on my car. $500 later, same issue. Will NEVER go back & will warm everyone, stay FAR AWAY.
He replaced my sons transmission and forgot to put more fluid in. It lasted about 7 months. We had to replace it. It was totaled. Costing us $2400. The car was checked for leaks and the Ford dealership said it was the fault of whi ever put it in. FYI its a closed tranmission we could add or take any out.
I had a very good experience there. Great communicators, straight shooters. :) A+
Let me put this bluntly: Ed is the best there is in Springfield, no BS. He was recommended to me by a work colleague. He has saved me a bunch of times. The first was back in 2016 when I had an old Toyota Corolla 2000 that had a strange rattling sound coming from the flywheel that my regular mechanic in Forsyth MO was unable to look at. Ed was able to take out the flywheel, replace it and get the car running smoothly. I then had issue after issue with my Kia Rio 2011 that led to me writing this review. My accelerator got stuck going up a hill which was terrifying for my family and I. I managed to bring the car under control by putting it into neutral. My dealer said it was an isolated incident and not to worry and then tried to sell me another car. Ed and his team spent about 45 mins and were able to see what the problem was (stuck cable and carbonated Butterfly Valve), and cleaned it out and got the car back to normal. He just saved me $16,000 right on the spot and I am grateful to know I can call on Ed when things go wrong. He and his guys are very straight talkers, no nonsense and super honest hard workers. I recommend them wholeheartedly.
Great place and always takes care of me at a great price
Honest and dependable.
Owner Ed was a great guy, oil change was a reasonable price !!!! Satisfied Customer !!!!!
The owner is rude. While on the phone I got told don’t interrupt me or I’ll hang up I don’t have time. When I was explain. I know my car had a leak in it I put oil in than drive it I didn’t know my oil was draining as fast as I put it in. The owner ed and my car dealership act like I’m stupid and didn’t know I had leak. Charged me to put a new filter on and oil in even though I told them I had a leak and asked if a new oil filter and oil would fix my car once they told me the oil filter came loose they said no. But still charged me to put the new filter on and put oil in the car even though they told me that it wouldn’t work
I highly recommend reading this.I had recently attempted to replace my water pump but failed to correctly put the gasket on. I went to eds to get a price and he also gave me some ideas of what could have gone wrong. I decided to take my truck up there and within a day or so i decided to stop by and see if they had figured anything out. When i did two of eds mechanics took the time to explain to me what was wrong with it and one of them also pointed out that I had a collapsed hose. I decided to go ahead and pay so i could just pick it up when they were done. I also told ed while i was paying my power steering pump was virbrating. Ed told me he would have one of his mechanics get the air out of it and not to worry about the callapsed hose which they took care of for no extra charge as well as the power steering pump. When they were finished my power steering pump was no longer vibrating, my water pump was not leaking and my collapsed hose was fixed. Now my truck is running better than it ever has. All thanks to ed and his mechanics. It only costed me $99.00 i will be visting eds aouto shop with ang more probles i have down the road.
They worked one my boyfriends truck. Thats the only place he will take it!!!
They are very good people and do a very good job working on vehicles
They got the work done quickly and for a great price. Ed is awesome!
