These guys are so good that theyre booked a few weeks out but squeezed my car in for a peek and an estimate. When they called to reassure me everything was fine (I was sure I was looking at a large repair) they didnt even charge me for their time. You dont find honest, trustworthy places like this anymore. After calling around every place I could find to get my transmission rebuilt, I was constantly told to go to Louies Automotive and Transmission, I heard nothing but great things about them and everyone was right. I am so glad I chose them to rebuild my transmission. They were very busy but got my car fixed and ready to go in 11 days. I felt like they explained everything that I needed to know and I felt comfortable with them and their service. They truly take their job seriously and from now on if I have any problems with my transmission, I know I can trust them with my car. Their customer service is great too.

Excellent service. I had a 65 Dodge coronet transmission rebuilt. I had a couple problems with installing the transmission. Rick came out and helped me get it figured out. I will highly recommend Louies to anyone.

Transmission went out on the truck, they it it fixed in such a short time, I was amazed at the speedy turn around.They picked up the truck on a Friday, the following Monday it was ready to be picked up.The people were very friendly, and relaxed.We got a 12,000 mile/1 year warranty, for a good price.

My husband had the transmission rebuilt in his 2003 Chevy Silverado at Louie’s in the fall of 2017. He told them that he needed it to be built up because he uses it regularly for towing. He was told that they already upgrade everything when they rebuild the transmission anyway. His transmission started having issues again in October 2020. He decided that he is going to rebuild the transmission this time and when he was taking it apart, noticed that it was all stock parts...that he was told we’re going to be upgraded. Pretty disappointed to have paid almost $2000 to be lied to, especially from a place that we had been told is known for building up transmissions.

These guys are amazing! Great service and trustworthy! I highly recommend them. I brought my rig in for transmission service and a sensor leak. They are upfront with time, cost and so very courteous! Prices are very reasonable. It has been a great experience, as far as car trouble is concerned. 5 stars!!

(Regarding your response: I updated this post based on new developments.) I spent over $3000.00 on a transmission rebuild and other replacement parts. It still has major shifting problems. Update: Recently the problem was found and solved (by a different repair shop). You replaced my transmission with a different one, but without my knowledge or consent !!!! Who DOES that?? Now I have a transmission, the quality of which is questionable. And I have no recourse if it fails. Thanks for nothing!

Asked them to fully check my transmission, they fixed a hose and charged me 80 dollars, they said it was fine but now my car is in limp mode, they are 2 weeks out for an appointment now.

We had our nv4500 rebuilt there that I took out and put in. today Im writing a reveiw its been about 10 mos. On the rebuild and on our way home from buisness trip the tyranny pretty much blew up had to tow it off the highway and gear oil left on pavement the trans was always sticky to get into first and reverse im pretty sure a 5 speed manual trans should last more then 10 mos. The cost to rebuild the trans was $2500 and I did the r&r i dont think they know as much as they claim so we will be shopping around to have it done again. Oh this trans is behind a stock V10

This shop is fantastic. In Spokane for a meeting and found ourselves with an unknown brake issue that needed repair in a hurry. If I could do zero stars I would. I have a 2007 Nissan frontier 4.0 v6 nismo edition. With that said. I knew I may have need a new transmission. They were recommended to me to do the work so I decided do have them look into my truck.they had done in diagnosis and verified that the truck did need a new transmission due to the fact that radiator and coolant had both gotten into the cooling system and into the transmission. This is a known flaw of the designs of the 2007 frontier. When I got the truck back with a new transmission in it I was told that the hoses had been flushed and that everything had been cleaned out and it should be running just fine. However they did not clean out any of the coolant or transmission fluid that was in the radiator or any of the hoses. Not knowing this I drove from their shop location to my home in the valley. I took the truck back the next morning to them and explain my frustration. They had stated that they do not work on radiators hoses or components other than the transmission. knowing full well of the problem and fully aware of the problem they said that they could try and flush it out with a hose and water but not offering any other services or a refund of any money or help with any of the damages that got caused after driving the truck home that night before. I guess my point is they will knowingly send you down the road knowing that theres still an issue and not say anything about it or offer to fix it or even take it to a mechanic that knows or has the tools to fix the known issue. I would not recommend anybody to use this company because of those reasons and because of their labor charge at $1,200 to replace and install a transmission and not fully fix any of the issues.

Everyone was very nice even with the bad news that my transmission was bad and needed replaced. The man at the counter (long beard, glasses, cant recall name) was a huge advocate for veterans and those with chronic illnesses. I would go back without hesitation!

I bought a used pickup that needed transmission work. I took it to Louies and they rebuilt the transmission for a reasonable price. When I found that the torque converter would not lock up, I took it back. Louies mechanics could not find a problem in the transmission, and they proved that the transmission was working properly, but they continued to help me troubleshoot the problem. By analyzing the vehicles computer data, they identified a problem with the stop light switch. I replaced the switch and everything now works perfectly. The problem had nothing to do with the transmission work Louies had done, but they helped me anyway until it was resolved. Thanks.

Louies does all the transmission work for all the vehicles that need transmission service at my familys dealership Consumer Auto Liquidators (CAL). When we have a vehicle that has any sort of noise in the transmission we send it to Louies because they can diagnose and fix any minor or major repair needed on a transmission. The manager Bill is extremely knowledgeable and communicates clearly what is needed to make the vehicle run properly.Their prices are fair and they do go excellent and timely work! I highly recommend going to Louies for your mechanical needs.

I had a complete transmission rebuild last fall. It’ still had a little bit of an issue every once a while so I finally took it back in. Rick and Bill did a stellar job diagnosing the issue and fixing it. They honored their warranty which was a great relief. Honesty integrity and a desire to do a great job and get it done right is what he’ll expect here.

Ive found Louies Auto & transmission to be an excellent shop with hard to find old fashion values. I have a 2004 Chevy with the no service transmission. Id been told that only auto dealers could do the transmission oil change for $350.00. A friend suggested I call Louies and see if they could do it. They didnt even blink. No problem. They were fast, showed me the condition of the old oil. They were very courteous and professional. Very reasonably priced. I would recommend them to anyone.

Rick and Bill are very knowledgeable. They are honest and their price is fair. They do have a wait to get your car worked on but I was definitely pleased with their service. I will be going back to them if I ever need any other car repairs!

I use to live in Spokane and always took all our family vehicles to Ricky for transmission issues, he is not only the BEST in town but also has the best prices and is the most honest person I have EVER had work on my vehicles. I now live in southern Idaho and am looking into shipping prices to send him a transmission to rebuild for me. He is that good.

Probably would give more stars if my beige seats didnt come back stained with dirt and grease. Cost me a trip to the detail shop to get it out. I called to let them know and they said they would get after the guys. That doesnt fix my inconvenience and cost to take care of the problem. Price was decent and people were nice enough.

This review is written on my experience having my transmission rebuilt at Louies. I turn my vehicle over to this transmission shop to have it rebuilt and have upgraded parts installed for a little more performance package. I was charged $1,600 for the rebuild and received my old parts back which I asked for. I did not receive a list of the upgraded, more durable parts I asked for, so I hope they were installed. I am very happy with the work performed because now the car drives and shifts very well. A short time later I had to get under the car to install some lines and I noticed the bushings on one side of the center transmission support were missing. The support was sagging because of this. I know they were there before the car went in because I had recently replaced them with brand new ones. This was rather frustrating to find after paying that much money to have the car done correctly and complete. I sure hope that their forgetfulness does not lead to early transmission problems because of the missing bushing on the passenger side of vehicle, but it was definitely not supported on the vehicle correctly at all. I decided to relocate another set of bushings and just reinstall them myself cause it is a simple job. Not an easy chore to locate older vehicle parts though. After I repair their mistake, I will be visiting them to inform them of this problem and see their response with my complaint. I went to them because of their good reviews, but if you decide to have work done there, I suggest you check their work carefully. I have found in several auto repair places that mistakes like these are a common occurrence and it too bad because the customer usually fits the bill if they are inexperienced with their vehicles. I say again, Check their work over very carefully so you do not have this type of forgetful thing happen to you. I gave an honest 3 stars because for that much money it should of been checked before returning the vehicle back to the owner, due to safety and warranty issues of their work.

The transmission on my 4x4 pickup went out while I was beyond the end of the road in the hills North of Spokane. I had to leave it there and get back to work on the westside. Bill and Rick? were very helpful in arranging for it to be towed to Louies in my absence and kept me informed about what they found. They confined the work to what I had authorized and didnt try to sell me a bunch of parts/service I didnt need. Also warranted the work for 6 mos. I recommend these guys, theyll take care of you.

In the last year they have worked on 2 of my vehicles. Dont judge by looks their facility is cramped. I found them extremely professional. Very accurate diagnostics is A+. Saving me money for unneeded repairs. Driveline on 2500 Dodge, input bearing on Jeep Wrangler.

We were told we needed a tranny by another co. for $1800. so we got a second opinion from Louies they were honest and said maybe not and sent us to Martins to check throttle sensor and the problem solved. Louies are honest and friendly we greatly appreciate them and want to share! Thank you

Nice guys, professional service. Rebuilt the transmission on time but the noise was still present and I could still not tow. Impossible to ignore that noise during a test drive because it did it the same day I picked up the truck. Im guessing it was just short around the block kind of road test. Turns out it was the VCT system/timing chain. Not sure ill be back if this issue wasnt caught when its obviously making huge noise.

If I could lower this to zero stars, I would. After spending over $700, my vehicle didnt even make it home. I brought my vehicle into Louies with transmission issues. They took two days to misdiagnose the vehicle, charged over $700, and the car didnt even make it home. When we returned, they actually did the research they said they did in the beginning and advised that we needed a new transmission. They said they would apply the labor hours to replacing our transmission but the cost is over two times what we will pay at the dealership, and they wont even discuss the issue with us or give us any money back. They didnt even offer in store credit. We spent money for nothing, and they havent even provided decent customer service. They actually stated that they did not have to talk to me. I am extremely disappointed, and will never recommend them or take my car there again.

I refer all of my friends and family here. I had to have a 1995 Suburban Tranny fixed. 3rd gear was gone, all the seal and gaskets had to replaced, practically had to have it completely rebuilt. Louies was at least $1,000-$2,000 cheaper than the other quoted we had gotten. We had also had a different shop try 3 different times to fix it and not find the problems. Louies not only was cheaper but found and solved the issues in 3 days on short notice! They are fast, knowledgeable, and economical. I now take my cars NO WHERE else!

They were honest and up front about what my repairs might take, and the end result was less than I expected, but with in the range they quoted. When picking up my 2001 Subaru Outback, they explained everything they found and what they did to fix my transmission. I had a time bomb waiting for me in the form of 130,000 miles on a timing belt in my car. I was due to leave on a trip to Seattle in a week. After calling multiple shops in the area and getting quotes at an average of $1200 I was shocked when Louies told me it would only be about $800!The only problem was that they were booked out for the following two weeks. However, after I told them my situation they didnt want me to get stranded in the middle of the state with a blown engine and said if I could leave it with them over night (two days before I was leaving) they would work me in.Not only was the work done excellently but they proved to me that they really do care about the customer. They made a life long one with this attitude!!

About 2 and a half months ago my transmission burned up driving across the state. After searching around for shops a friend recommended Louies. After a 5 minute wait, Rick hopped into my pickup, put it in gear and had it diagnosed in no time flat. The cost of the rebuild was VERY good and they talked me through what upgrades they had made over the stock internals. Last week I returned to have the transmission serviced and make sure everything was in ship shape. Beforehand the transmission was shifting a little late, when I picked up my pickup, Rick told me theyd found a bad vacuum hose and replaced it. The transmission shifts perfectly now and the fluid looked great. 10 out of 10, would recommend to anyone looking for a good old fashioned shop that cares about customer service.

I couldnt be happier with Louies Transmission. I was all ready for a major transmission repair and wouldnt have questioned them if that was their diagnosis. There diagnosis turned out to be a tranny flush and replace the broken u-joints all at a very low cost.Theres a reason why Louies is packed with cars or that you might have to make an appt. Everyone loves Louies including me.
