This is our first time buying/building a pool, so I have no other reference to compare Fox Pools work to other pool companies, however, I am in the commercial construction management business, so I have a great understanding of good craftsmanship and poor craftsmanship. The project started off good, Rusty was thorough with our choices in pool styles, sizes, and options. We were very specific on the details of our pool as this is our forever home. We specified exactly where we wanted the pool placed, where we wanted the filter, what shapes we wanted the cement to look like and what stone we wanted for the retaining wall. Here is what we got. Our first disappointment came when the cement work was done, we had specified that we wanted the ends of the cement work to be matching concaved finishes. What we received was one end being concaved and the other being a flat finish. This came even after I told the guys on site that the flat end was wrong and followed up with a phone conversation with Rusty but yet they did not fulfill what we requested. The second disappointment was they placed the filter in a location other than what we requested, we wanted it place by our HVAC units for the purpose of latter adding a pool heater and keeping the noise away from the patio area. Rusty stated that he could put it by the units, but it would be more money because that location sat below the level of the pool skimmer. This was very frustrating because we did not want to pay more for an oversite of theirs. Now the filter sits in a location that has no access to our natural gas service which makes it impossible to put a gas heater. As much as the above-mentioned issues are serious disappointments, they don’t compare to the atrocious craftsmanship of the next two things. In our pool project we paid for additional cement to come all the wany to our house creating one large patio, and in doing so there were two downspouts that had to be redirected through a plumbing drain under the cement. They also installed a two-inch channel drain the entire length of the patio and slopped the entire patio area to this drain. However, the two downspout drains do not keep up with the volume of water when it rains for longer than 20 minutes at a time, the water backs up and overflows onto the patio. In addition to the two down spouts our pool project had to have a retaining wall because of the slope of our property. Therefore they also installed a French drain behind this wall, but the French drain did not feed to any drainage, just to the edges of the pool wall in front of the patio area, therefore this is yet another source of water on to the patio and debris into the actual pool. Now every time it rains longer than 20 minutes our patio becomes a large pool of water three inches deep, when there are storms that last for several hours the pool of water grows larger coming up to our door threshold, and when there is a downpour storm (twice this year so far) the pool of water grows even larger and floods over the door threshold and into our kitchen. The pictures and videos in this review are of a normal rain shower, not a downpourWe have spoken to Rusty about this multiple times and all we have received have been excuses, and we are in danger that the next downpour will cause serious damage to our home. So now we are left with no choice but to hire another contractor to correct the design flaws and poor craftmanship from Foxx Pools. So, in the end we spent a lot of money to have a class A pool for our home and what we received was a “D” at best. I highly recommend avoiding Fox Pools for any pool projects.

Needed a leaking pool fixed. We know nothing about pools so just took them for their word on what we needed and what they would do. We were told by foxx pools that it could be the liner, the cracked steps, or the skimmer but that it would be figured out.We replaced the liner. The liner that was put in was worse than the original. It was wrinkled and looked stretched. Pool still leaked. We were told that the cracks in the steps were/could be causing the leak and that was to be fixed with everything else they quoted us. The steps were not done by them. We had to go pick up the paint from them and do it ourselves. We were charged additionally for this even though this was supposed to be included in with everything and we provided the labor ourselves. Pool still leaked.Skimmer was never addressed. When we told Rusty that it was still leaking he said that we should call a plumber because that isn’t his responsibility.Obviously we did not pay the remaining 50% balance since the job was not finished(their policy is that you pay 50% to start the job and 50% when the job is finished). Rusty told us that if the balance was not paid by the first of the week he was going to put a mechanic lean on our house. And that he’d “see us in court”.Our home is for sale so we cannot have this happen. We were black mailed into paying thousands of dollars for an unfinished, leaking pool. This is a terrible company with crooked, ill-mannered people running it. I would strongly urge you to go ANYWHERE else.

Worst service I’ve ever had.Had a wrinkle in the liner we purchased after it was installed. No one returned phone not came out for weeks and “Rusty” was nice enough to have me paint my own pool steps and charge me for the material after the full quote for everything was provided. If this post even reaches just one person I’ll be happy.I urge you to shop for anyone else in making your pool dreams come true.

I have received nothing but excellent service from the folks at Fox Pools of Spartanburg! The entire crew is friendly and helpful - especially Paula. Our pool is going on 6-years-old, and when weve had any problems, they were addressed in a reasonable amount of time and always to our satisfaction. We couldnt be more pleased.

Do not try to call or give them your business. You will constantly be transferred without explanation or given the runaround. I cannot imagine what they would do if they had their hands on your money!

Awful awful customer service! We hoped to use Fox Pools because we wanted to support a local company in our neighborhood. For the second year in a row they have given use the run around. Last year they were just extremely slow getting to us and way overpriced. We decided to give them another opportunity. We called almost two months ago for service and have been consistently told they are just too busy to come out. When my husband visited the store to find out what the issue was, the receptionist there lied and said we had called to cancel the work order. No, we only called to determine why this process was so drawn out! This is probably the worst place to call for pool service. Looking for other options.

I am new to pool ownership. I bought a house in Woodruff with a pool and the previous owner suggested Foxx Pools. I have had great service and advice from Paula and very pleased with the service work I have had done. I had a bad experience with them today and everyone deserves a second chance, so I will not be too harsh. I drove the 20 miles from Woodruff today arriving at Foxx a little before or maybe exactly at 5pm, only to have the door slammed in my face and told that they were closing an hour early. No apology, no explanation. But it worked out great. I drove to Leslies Pools and received great service from Andy and Betty. Very professional. They are open until 7pm by the way. Rusty, you should check out Leslies business model. But I will probably use Foxx again when I cool off from this. Paula is wonderful.

Have been to several pool stored around mainly for water test and chemicals. Ive always been impressed with the service and knowledge of the staff at Foxx Pools. Everytime Ive had a issue with my water quality, theyve always been spot-on with their recommendations. Other pool companies have had me spending a fortune on chemicals before getting things corrected.

The list is too long - if you want chemicals or water tested, they are ok. But if you want any maintenance or for heaven sakes, if you are in the market for pool - I would clearly NOT RECOMMEND! We have a Fox pool - and lots of regrets for having done so!

The service level at Fox Pools of Spartanburg is exceptionally poor. Over the 6 years of living here, I have used Rusty and Jeff for several service projects relating to my pool because they were located close and because they (somehow) came to me via recommendations of others. But they have consistently performed sub-par and have used proprietary parts when servicing. I have used them to completely do a new liner (to include patch work to the floor of the pool) and after 1 season, the liner is binding in spots and areas that were in need of filling and/or smoothing are still an issue. I also bought a pool vac and converted the pool to salt at the same time. The pool vac is a (now no longer made) Ray-Vac that is already in need of parts. The salt generator is also already bad, which is what prompted this review. At the start of the 11 swimming season, I went to Fox to tell them that I have added more than a typical amount of salt, only to see that my salt generator control panel is telling me I am low. Even after the water tests confirmed my salt levels were high, I was put off by being told that maybe I just needed to use muriatic acid to clean the salt cell. After all that, I suggested that the cell was bad and wanted to know if this cell was still under warranty. This was April. It took over 3 months and several reminder phone calls to get them to come out and verify that it was indeed a bad salt cell (after only 1 season of use?). Now, Ive been mailed an invoice for a service call. How a company with such slow and unprofessional service gets to be so busy that they cant service existing customers properly is a disappointment to say the least. I just hope Ive helped others become aware before (like me) thousands of dollars are spent and put at risk.

Fox Pools, specifically Rusty Fraley, do amazing work. Fox Pools put in two pools for my family over the years and always were available to handle any problems or maintenance related issues. They are well qualified to do their job. Also, I read a review on here stating that people should google Rusty Fraley before choosing Fox and then proceeded to say Im not judging. Now, I know exactly what this person is talking about without having to google his name but I will say this. Rusty Fraley is an amazing man. I know him not only on a business level but a personal level as well. Accusations are accusations and if we were all judged on our accusations, then most people probably wouldnt want anything to do with us either. I highly recommend Fox Pools for all your pool needs.

10 years ago Rusty was the salesman of all salesman. I was the fish that bit on his sucker hook. Over the years I have tried and tried to get him to come out and fix the light that leaked and burnt within the first month, the liner that was put in so bad it pulled loose and it was wrinkled everywhere at the bottom, the motor died after just 1 year. Everything he sold me was trash and he NEVER returned any calls. Now Ive got a Warranty claim on the liner and he wont even return a call to put it in... thank God because Big Splash Pools in Cowpens is the place to go! Now Im not one to judge, Jesus will be our judge, but do a Google search on Rusty and Fox Pools and judge for yourself (prepare yourself for a shock!). Its not just his Business Character that is flawed! My advice to you if you are looking for a new pool or service is to steer as far away from him as possible!
