I have been training with Professor Alejandro and the GB Team for over 4 years now. In the process I lost ~50 lbs of body weight, overcame fear, gained self discipline, and made friends and memories that I will keep with me always. I highly recommend training at GB Southlake to anyone interested. It is a great facility with great people: GB family. In my experience, the people who you train with make all the difference. Best wishes.
I had the pleasure of visiting Gracie Barra Southlake. I normally train at another GB school out of town. Professor Alejandro and his team are extremely knowledgeable and very welcoming. They provided top, professional training. I highly recommend GB Southlake whether you are 5 or 50 (I am 50 LOL )
This is a great place to learn Brazilian jiu-jitsu! Everyone in there is welcoming. Professor Alejandro and all the coaches are awesome instructors regardless of your skill level. I highly recommend training here.
I can’t say enough good things about Gracie Barra Southlake and Professor Alejandro. I’ve known and trained with the Professor for over 11 years, and he is an awesome BJJ practitioner, but more importantly, an incredible person. He’s honest, loyal, and extremely devoted to his students. The Gracie Barra curriculum taught at Gracie Barra Southlake is top notch. The programs and curriculum were designed by some of the best BJJ teachers and practitioners in our sport. Results speak much louder than words, so I would encourage you to attend a local tournament and see for yourself. If you do, you will see Gracie Barra students winning at every belt level in just about every tournament in Texas. If you are looking for a BJJ school in the Southlake area, please go see Professor Alejandro. You won’t be disappointed!
Prof. Alejandro is awesome. Very welcoming environment.
STAY AWAY if at all possible. Promotions come purely from just showing up consistently like karate. This is not how Brazilian Jiu-jitsu should be. Ranks are given based on attendance and to keep students versus actual skill level. Also, the instructor gets mad when you begin to reach a higher skill level and become one of the better ones at the academy. Beware
Great Place to training, the best BJJ School in Dallas. I recommend to kids and Adult.
So friendly and welcoming! The professors here were so knowledgeable and paid very close attention to detail. I was only visiting the area for the holidays but if I lived close by, this would be my go-to gym.
Very good school with helpful instructors!
My son is 5 and started training at Gracie Barra this year and we are all impressed! He loves the practice, and is learning not just a new skill but is learning focus and respect for himself and others. The studio is always clean and comfortable to watch class up close. We especially appreciate the flexible schedule. For the monthly cost, we can attend classes up to 6 days a week and can fluctuate days/times based on that weeks particular needs of or family.
My brother and his two kids plus four of my kids are training here! If my life was a little different.... Id be training here too!My kids are learning and getting great experience on the mat!During the summer my kids were going 4-5 classes a week! You can get lots of time learning the art of Jujitsu at this school! Great instructor with tons of experience!
Professor Alejandro is an awesome teacher! Its a great learning environment and everyone is very helpful. Im very new to the sport but Ive been welcomed into a family.
Gracie barra is very kid frindly
This place is really awesome, staff/coaches are very patient and take time to teach thoroughly. Im a young adult and was totally inexperienced to anything like this and quite a bit nervous and everyone was really welcoming. When Im able to go here regularly Im in the best shape Ive ever been in. Love this place, it exercises the mind and the body; plus it has a really cool family vibe 10/10.
Started my BJJ journey here as a white belt to improve my fitness, and while Im still learning I cant think of a better place to start out. Everyone is super helpful, from the Professors (particularly Professor Alejandro) to the students, and really understanding. The school definitely lives up to the Gracie name, and Im looking forward to continuing my training.
Professor Alejandro is not only one of the finest martial artists I have ever known, he is one of the finest people I have ever known. My wife, four of my five children, and I have all trained with him, and he is the best! (I wish I could get my 5th child to him, but shes in California)His technical brilliance and attention to detail is only matched by his care and concern for each and every one of his students. The Professor is literally World-Class, and his accomplishments speak for themselves. If you are looking for jiu jitsu for yourself and/or your children, look no further -- this is the place. Give Gracie Barra Southlake a chance, and you will not be disappointed.
From New York and my first time training with a different school. Was quite nervous, but Coach Alejandro and team made me feel very welcome and very comfortable. Can easily tell he runs a great place to train from children to adults. Professional, courteous, super clean and no egos. Loved it! Will be back many times on future business trips.Highly recommend!
This place is absolutely awesome! I have a 12 and 5 yr old, and they love it. And they are learning a lot. This is a safe place that is very family friendly. All the coaches are great, and Professor Alejandro is truly a class act, loves the kids, and is a great instructor. I highly recommend Gracie Barra Southlake.
I had the honor to be able to visit with Professor Alejandro. My 5 year old son and I are from Gracie Barra Acworth, Georgia and we were very welcomed there. Thank you for the hospitality guys! The GYM is very clean and the instructors are very patient and technical.
We send both of our kids here and the school is absolutely phenomenal. Professor is top notch, his staff fantastic, and the atmosphere warm and welcoming. Our two young boys have matured so much in such a short time. We are thankful for the memories that we create and most of all the school itself. You cannot go wrong here. Great school, world class instructor, and on and on we could go.Kudos to the Gracie Barra Southlake team. Thank you!
I’ve been going there for a year! It’s been amazing and they are excellent teachers. They love to help you grow and get better. The Professor is top notch. One of the best in the world! Great kids program also. Our two kids have been going there over a year also. They love it!
When you have the chance to meet Professor Alejandro, youll know from the first moment of meeting him that he is a legit jujitsu coach and practitioner. He exemplifies all of the things that you would say about a top notch jujitsu coach/athlete/competitor. He loves jujitsu. He loves teaching. He expects the best from his students. He demands that his student respect one another, his gym, him and the sport. He expects the best from his students. He never raises his voice, (and wouldnt have to--everyone obeys/follows Professor Alejandro). He quietly and firmly leads by example. Honestly this guy so tough. Ive not been to other gyms, but I think its fair to say that Southlake is VERY lucky to have a dedicated jujitsu practitioner/coach in the area. Oh and by the way, hes still competing in tournaments and placing/winning them. So its not like hes teaching things he read about/did 10 years ago after high school. This guy is so legit. Hes living this stuff. If you are even considering doing jujitsu you are CRAZY not to check out his gym.
Very welcoming and approachable. They made sure everyone was grasping the techniques. Seasoned or new this place is excellent. Will definitely come back again when I’m in town.
Just dropped in for a class while visiting the area. I could not be more impressed with everything! The facility was easy to find with plenty of parking. The students were so friendly and helpful giving tips during the exercises. The instructions were very clear, concise and easy to follow. The instructor was available and made those fine tuned corrections that you need to make a technique solid. He asked for questions from every level and answered them completely. He built the lesson over the time based on principles so the themes ran through everything. I definitely appreciated this Academy and would recommend it highly. I have had a lot of martial arts instruction from many different types of teachers across a number of disciplines in this location is definitely high quality. We will be back.
This place is incredible. My 5yo daughter goes here and has progressed tremendously, in multiple ways. Professor Alejandro knows how to run a school and is a great man. My daughter absolutely loves the coach. She has found a family. Whatever youre looking for in BJJ, youll find it here
Love this place. Legit professor who is still an active competitor and a good one at that. I have met many friends here. Very patient with new learners and is always trying to help student improve. He believes in his students and wants whats best for them.
I signed up a few months ago and I am extremely happy with that decision. Great workout and skills to learn from a very knowledgeable professor. The gym is always very clean and the environment is safe for martial arts practice.
Was in town for work, and couldn’t have been more welcomed. The staff and the Professor were amazing and nice people. I will definitely be hitting up this academy in my future visits to Dallas.
If youre looking for an excellent instructor/school to learn one of the most effective martial arts then this is it! Professor Alejandro is the real deal. His tournament record speaks for itself but theres more than just that. On top of lots of jiujitsu knowledge he is humble, an effective teacher and family focused.Family!!! Two of my children, a mix of six nieces and nephews and myself train under Alejandro and his coaches. Nine of us and we love it. One day my grandmother--she is 85! and mom came to watch all of us roll--what a great experience to have a great grand mother watch her progeny learn and have fun together as a family unit. I would not have told my family about him and his school if the family vibration wasnt right. No machismo atmosphere here and so many families. Try a class and see for yourselves. As a family we already have many good memories to talk about and our kids look forward to class!Thank you, Alejandro! And thank you coaches. May God reward you all!-GM
My daughter is 6yo and absolutely loves these classes. The instructors are amazing and great with the kids. I highly recommend this activity for your child. It teaches them respect, discipline and confidence.
The training here was top notch. Everyone was very dedicated and determined to make you work, but were also supportive and willing to coach you. Alejandro runs a tight shop and it was very motivating to see everyone snap to attention when he spoke. He is a respectable person who I was fortunate to train under.
Amazing instruction and great atmosphere! Highly recommend to anyone interested in learning Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
I recently attended classes at Gracie Barra Southlake while on business travel in Dallas. The classes were well run and everyone is very welcoming. In addition, the facility and location is great.Professor Alejandros teaching style and attention to detail make the training fun and valuable. If you are looking to learn a great martial art in a welcoming, friendly environment I highly recommend GB Southlake.
Amazing school Professor Alejandro has done a phenomenal job. He is a very high level Jiu Jitsu fighter and a top Jiu Jitsu instructor. The school is so clean and they have a great kids program. If you are looking to get in shape, work on self defense or just want to try something new make sure you stop by you will thank yourself for doing so!
Legit school. They take the time to train you to make sure you are doing it correctly.
Excellent school. I started training six months ago, and I’m absolutely hooked. The owner, Professor Alejandro, puts his heart and soul into making his school as good as it can be. He is always monitoring things to make sure his students understand the finer points of Jiu Jitsu and that they’re practicing in a safe environment. The vibe at the school is very friendly and welcoming, not competitive. The advanced students are always willing to share their knowledge. Also Professor Alejandro and Coach Phillip are especially good with kids. I plan to start my son as soon as he’s old enough. I can’t say enough good things about this school.
It only took one class to convince me to sign up. Professor Alejandro makes everything easy to understand. He keeps a friendly environment for everyone to feel comfortable no matter what skill level you are.
This place is great. My 12 year old is getting a work out, he is learning, the instructors are top notch. I am 100% happy with sending my son here.
I love training at Gracie Barra in Southlake with Professor Alejandro Siqueira. The quality of instruction is world class. Alejandro is a very patient, skilled, and detailed instructor. I was in terrible shape when I started and he has really helped me improve my fitness dramatically. I feel like everyone here wants everyone else to get better.
Gracie Barra Southlake has an incredible program! They are patient when teaching the kids but focus on structure, respect and technical aspects of BJJ. My son loves participating!! He is learning quickly and has improved his focus and strength. We ❤️ Gracie Barra Southlake!
Professor Alejandro is the best! My kids love going to class and the whole family is involved with the sport! We signed up over a year ago for self defense for the kids, and now are involved in competitions!
Absolutely the best place to train. I am completely unaware of any other BJJ schools that have a professor with the same resume that Professor Alejandro has. I started training there in January 2016. My kids just a few weeks before me. It has become a family thing for us. Thank you Professor Alejandro for investing in my my family
Grate place coaches are great you could really learn a lot from them. awesome place for the kids one of the best.
Really welcoming team, with a lot of nice rolls! Would recommend a visit!
My two kids love it here. They learn much more than just bjj. Highly recommended!
Fantastic school with great instructors.I visited from a sister school while in town for work and everyone was incredibly welcoming.
Professor Alejandro is a world class coach and competitor. It would be hard to find anybody with his experience in Dallas. Highly recommend.
Professor Alejandro is a wonderful coach.Very disciplined and professional. My son has been doing jui jistu for 18 months now & he enjoys classes everyday. Professor recognizes his strengths and constantly encourages him to work hard and utilize his potential. He has made many friends here and I have met some wonderful families here. I would highly recommend Gracie Barra, Southlake.
AWESOME GYM. 5/5
Gracie Barra Southlake has a truly Brazilian BJJ instructor. Very patient and kinda. Outstanding tournament portfolio. Location and place and organization are a plus. Highly recommended. Carlos
I started training at Gracie Barra Southlake in August of 2015, and I am so glad I did. I was 53 when I started and I am now 55. BJJ is addictive and has changed my life for the better. Professor Alejandro is an amazing instructor and creates a fantastic environment for learning. On top of a great place to learn BJJ, the friends I have made at GB Southlake are sincere and humble, and are always helping one another get better.
My son takes classes here and loves it. The staff is very knowledgeable and personable.
This is the perfect BJJ gym/academy. Great instructor with tons of knowledge and experience, good facility and location, well designed lesson structure, and, perhaps most importantly, a great body of membership. The community there is awesome and always very helpful and supportive regardless of their rank. Everyone was very friendly and collaborative.Unfortunately, I had to leave because I had to move to another state, but I would highly recommend this gym to anyone who is interested in Jiu Jitsu.
Was in Southlake for a business trip--dropped in to visit. Professor Alejandro and his staff were welcoming and friendly, and his students have excellent jiu jitsu--awesome fundamentals and crazy top pressure game!As someone who comes from a very sport-oriented school in NYC, I learned a lot from the self-defense techniques and fundamentals taught at GB Southlake and had a lot of fun doing it.The gym has students of all ages, and gives off a great family atmosphere. Will be returning every time Im here on business. Thanks GB Southlake!
Master Alejandro is an amazing world class instructor. He is patient and teaches you at a speed that will allow the techniques you are drilling to stick.
Professor Alejandro is very technical, it is great for people just starting their training to black belts. The training partners are always willing to help as well.
Professor Alejandro is a world champion and a great instructor. GB Southlake is a wonderful place for adults and kids to train the best BJJ system in the world.
Let me start by saying the gym was great and Alejandro is a fantastic instructor. However, if you want to leave the gym because your son wants to try other sports, the corporate office outside of Texas has to approve it and they will continue to charge you. My son broke his collar bone in an unrelated incident so we froze the account. They still charged us an extra month since we didnt freeze it in time. We then told Alejandro we were canceling and contacted corporate. 7 months later they still want written documentation even though we emailed corporate and the gym to state we were canceling. I will never take my kids to another Gracie Barra gym because of how we are treated by corporate.
I love training at Gracie Barra in Southlake with Professor Alejandro Siqueira. Professor Alejandro is great, very detailed and will work with any skill level.
A fantastic and top-notch Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy!! Professor Alejandro is an amazing coach and competitor and easily one of the best instructors for children I have ever seen in my 34 years in the martial arts! The facility is super nice and very clean. There are male and female rooms to change and bathrooms. The academy is located in a very nice area of Southlake and easily accessible.I would HIGHLY recommend to anyone that is interested in starting or continuing their journey in the martial arts, to look no further than Gracie Barra Southlake!Bryan SmithBJJ Brown Belt
Excelent Professor, Alejandro did a great seminar here in Australia in 2016. Can’t wait to come to Texas to visit you guys Oss
I moved to the Keller area several months ago, and lost a great jiu jitsu team. I came to Gracie Barra Southlake to continue my training and was greeted with open arms by everyone in the school. The training and instruction is World Class hands down, Professor Alejandro Siqueira is a superb instructor and very patient and very technical. He is a true Gracie Barra black belt with tremendous credentials. The students there are very humble and treat you like family from day one. The facility and location are fantastic with good parking and plenty of mat space for training. I wouldnt train anywhere else, this is truly world class training from a world renowned Professor and organization Gracie Barra.
Professor Alejandro is awesome! My daughters enjoy going to his kids classes. He has patience and you can tell the children love going to Jiu Jitsu class. He is from Brazil were Jiu Jitsu comes from. Great teaching school!
I highly recommend this BJJ business! The Professor was extremely accommodating during the COVID period and worked with my family to do video lessons and pause our account as we needed it during the pandemic. My two sons and myself train at this location. It is a great BJJ location! I have experience training in another Gracie school in Boston, and combatives in the USAF, so trust me when I tell you that this Gracie location is top-notch!I highly recommend it for all ages!Jeremy KLocal Southlake FatherLt Col, Active Duty USAF
A couple of years ago, our family decided to spend some time in Tx, while our children were at a young age. As soon as we settled down, after some research, we enrolled our three young children (at the time, ages 3, 4, 5) with Professor Alejandro in Gracie Barra, Southlake. Two years has passed, and we are now moving back to our home state. I have never written a review in my life, but I feel it is important for me to share this message with parents who are interested in enrolling their children into Marshal arts.I am deeply grateful for Professor Alejandro. He is kind, fair, just, firm and encouraging. We had once taken our children to another Marshal Arts studio and the coaches were very condescending and literally made fun of youngsters saying their moves look like monkeys. That was when I first realize not all Marshal Arts studios are the same.Professor Alejandro ingrained a wonderful philosophy in our children: when we work, we work; when we play, we play. It is truly a wonderful feeling to hear them say that when they do their homework, or doing their rigorous piano practice every day. My son is now 4 and he is now also taking piano lessons. I believe that it is, in large part, because of Professors philosohy of discipline and training, my son is able to sit down and practice 30 to 45 minutes a day with minimal struggle. We also visited with our children at another Jitsu Gracie Barra in Ca. Our children receiced many compliments from coaches and parents for their respectful attitude towards the coaches, their classmates and the Jiu Jitsu mat rules.Watching our children learn to become confident, and learn that everything worthy in life takes hard work, is truly satisfying and fills our family with gratitude for those who have helped us instill these values in our children. It always makes my eyes water when I think about Professor sitting down on the mat with the children and explain to them that we need to try hard in life in order to succeed. We as parents have provided our children so much more nowadays, with the growing technology and challenges with it, it is even more imperative for us to nurture our children with discipline and help them to learn the healthy mental skills on which their future accomplishments can be built, and which their happiness and peace can rely on.I wish all the parents reading this well, and I wish you the best of luck in your parental duties.
I had been training BJJ for about 2 years when I showed up at Gracie Barra Southlake TX. I came from Alabama where I had won the state tournament 3 times in a row as a blue belt so I thought I was at least decent. Professor Alejandro is an incredible Jiu Jitsu fighter and welcomed me into the school with open arms even though I had never trained at a Gracie Barra. After rolling with Alejandro just once I could tell I had a lot to learn. I trained with him for several months and attend class whenever I can now. Very friendly environment with no ego!
Beware ! This company will continue to charge you for months and months of dues and won’t let you cancel easily, even if you child cannot go anymore !
Amazing training, great facility, friendly people, very willing to work with everyone, great for kids and adults. I felt like a part of the family and learnt a LOT there-- very legit BJJ.
Professor Alejandro is a jiu jitsu genius! He is definatley the best instructor in the Dallas/DFW area. He is patient, great with kids, beginners, and advanced students. There is no where else I would train
Prof. Alejandro is the best! Great vibe in the gym
I highly recommend Gracie Barra in Southlake, if you interested in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or just trying to get in shape . I never trained in any kind of martial arts so i was hesitate to try, but once i stopped by to get more information, Alejandro Doudement the Head Coach was very welcoming and made it easy for me to get plugged in. He asked for me to stay and jump in and train for free...they even provided a Gi to workout with. Alejandro Doudement taught in a way that it was easy to learn and to execute the moves correctly. I like how Alejandro Doudement takes his time to teach each student and his attention to detail is very helpful when just starting out with no knowledge of Jiu Jitsu. Ive talked to many people that have done Jiu Jitsu for several years and have been to 3 to 5 Jiu Jitsu training facilities...and they all have said that Gracie Barra in Southlake is the best place to train because they actually have a curriculum to follow from basics to advanced. I have been there a month now and Im loving it!
I spent this past spring break visiting with friends in Southlake, Tx and my buddy took me to this dojo to try out jiu-jitsu for my first time. It was awesome! I had so much fun, it was a very positive experience. Alejandro Siqueira Doudement ran the dojo and personally taught both classes that I attended during the week, he made me feel welcome and a part of the group. I could tell that the individuals training there were passionate about what they were doing. If i lived within 30 miles of this Dojo i would sign up in a heat beat. Its empowering, a great work out and best of all its a fun activity. I recommend it to any one.
This is a legitimate BJJ place. When we had to cancel, they were responsive and emailed us the cancellation forms right away with no issues.
The best place to train💪 .. everyone is very friendly and you learn very quickly ..
