I’m giving 3 stars because it’s very clean and staff very nice. Bathrooms are immaculate. Personally for me there is not enough weight lifting equipment or free weight. With that being said. If you are just doing cardio training I would give it a 5. Especially for 10.00 a month.

For a planet fitness it was good. Clean with nice staff.

Southbury PF is clean and has great staff. Nice place. Not overcrowded

Its a good friendly gym. But its small. When its slightly busy its hard to find a spot for the free weights. Besides that, the staff is wonderful, the gym is clean and a nice environment.

Planet Fitness is the place to go to. Whether you want to get in shape, build your strength, and look great.

Great place for work out. But when are they going to start opening up more lockers and more machines. It would be nice if they dont require a mask, if your fully vaccinated with proof of course. Also I wish they would go back to those ID tags for your keychain.. They dont use them anymore do u have to give them your phone number everytime u go in there or bring your phone and use app. Sometimes I dont want to bring in my phone what the heck

My happy place. Whether I want to go there to do floor work, weights, ellipticals...Tan or go into that red room that they have. I just love it. It’s clean and sparkly and the people are very friendly.

Friendly, clean and great equipment. Not like a big box gym, personal and very nice staff. The gym is set up nicely and they offer child care. As well as tanning and massages on site. Shake bar is great and they have a good variety of supplements.

THEIR STAFF HAD A COVID OUTBREAK. My wife goes to this gym. The manager / assistant manager are extremely unprofessional as well as the whole staff behind that desk. As my wife says “0 carisma and 100 fakeness”. You can just tell they all hate their jobs. It came to her attention that weeks ago multiple staff had Covid and the manager DID NOT CLOSE DOWN THE GYM. UNBELIEVABLE! Considering they have a large elderly community. Do not go here unless you want to risk your chances of covid by 100%. There are better gyms out there and we have canceled her membership. Such a waste of space and someone better revamp the whole staff because I know of so many people who cant stand anyone in there.

Having a black card I have gone to many CT PF locations, but this one is pretty much up there with the best. They also have 3 hydro massage beds/chairs which is a plus and one more than all the others. I was iffy on going to the gym mid pandemic but this location is fairly vacant most of the time. All in all I’m satisfied with not having to drive to Waterbury for my workouts.

The mask make it very challenging to work out. Please drop the mask especially for those vaccinated.

Friendly people lots of workout equipment Ill be glad when the mask is not required I try to sneak fraction of my nose out so I dont pass out. Hydro massage chair is amazing

Black Card member since October 2019. Friendly staff. Always very clean. Not terribly crowded most of the time. For the price you pay its a major win. Everyone who is complaining about professionalism of staff, I have a hard time believing. As far as the cancellation policy goes, thats pretty standard for most gyms. Read your contracts people. Would be great if there were free weight barbell options, but Im not sure if any Planet Fitness has that sort of equipment. 5/5 stars.

I would like to say that is is amazing to have a great gym that I can go to and enjoy working out and meeting great people. The facility is very clean. I see them always walking around making sure things are addressed. I watched a guy get up and walk away from a machine and the trainer pick up a wipe and make sure it was cleaned for the next person. You do not get that at every planet fitness. The layout is perfect and the machines are top notch. Glad this place opened catalyst was not even that great and a lot more money. The other thing that makes this place great is the staff. They smile and do not mind helping. If your looking to workout and have a great environment to do it you will not be disappointed.

Great gym for non muscle heads. You got a couple wife beater t-shirt wearers but they dont look like they have ever lifted anyway plus its fun entertainment to watch,. Very comfortable place to get in shape.

Bait and Switch - My teenage son signed up for their free teen fitness program in July (see attached) and since then he has been charged $160 for 4 months membership he didnt even sign for. Called the manager, but they will NOT agree to reimburse - do the RIGHT THING Planet Fitness, this is a nice town!

This gym is great and a welcome addition to the area. I have seen people of all ages, shapes, and sizes working out there, and it provides a sense of community like no other. I haven’t felt self conscious once. Clean workout area, good locker rooms, friendly staff! Very happy to be a member-Thank you!

I wasnt a big fan of planet fitness until I stopped in on a Sunday and I was surprised on how clean the environment was and friendly the staff was and very helpful. I wasnt planning on signing up but I did cuz I was very impressed with everything. Blair was so helpful and answered every question I had and thats one reason why I signed up and my niece signed up also. We were both very happy from the moment we walked in and was welcomed by Blair.

Live the gym and the staff, however the Tanning “bed”bulbs on the bottom need changing. I went in twice now and was freezing both times when I got out. I mentioned it to the staff after both times tanning. I had to go tan elsewhere just to warm up.I hope this fats corrected soon. I enjoy the full use of a gym and all that it has to offer.

The staff is friendly, helpful and always cleaning. They did a great job spacing the machines and adjusting to covid guidelines.

Southbyry. Its a shame you choose to make it so hard to cancel. Certified letters or USPS mailed letter to cancel are just uncalled for.Take a customer call, verify identity, cancel the agreement and wish people well. Well be back. Dont use have a policy that makes it difficult to cancel while you just keep billing. You know we need to cancel. You know we are not coming. You will lose customers forever. Especially in a business where customers go hot and cold on gym memberships. You also show no sense of community when you burn your neighbors. Make it easier to cancel. This is not helping you.

I love love LOVE planet fitness in Southbury before covid. I could go late at night when I got back from work (I don’t work typical 9-5) and get a good workout in. Additionally, the staff here are always super friendly and are constantly wiping down equipment.I have started tentatively going back into my gym (Southbury). I was happy that a lot of machines were closed off to maintain social distancing, but the hours are different so that the club closes at 10pm instead of 11pm (I REALLY needed that extra hour at night).The only people actually wearing a mask is the staff. Other members walk around freely without a mask (which is fine if you’re in your own private space at your machine, but NOT okay when you’re walking 2 feet away from me and you see that I’m visibly upset) and I have had several men step in purposely close to me for NO reason and violate the 6 foot distance rule.I really love how clean it is and how friendly the staff are, but I am a bit upset that the masks aren’t more strictly enforced and other members aren’t social distancing (which I totally understand the actions of the members are not Planet Fitness’s responsibility). I really wish you guys would open back up to the regular hours, or at least have that bar graph that shows the how busy the location is at a certain time.

Mila is AWESOME. She always greets with a smile and positive attitude. Mila is always making sure the facility is clean and the members needs are taken care of. I look forward to going to the gym knowing it is clean and inviting during these trying times thanks to employees like Mila.

Doing a great job of cleaning and enforcement of safety rules

I like coming to this gym because its minutes from my job. Living a ways away I wanted the flexibility to be able to get to the gym after work while also being able to use the one close to home. So I opted for the black card. I havent tried the massage chairs yet, but have my coach session today!

I love this gym! It has everything I need to lose weight and build muscle! Everything is clean and the employees are always helpful and kind. The massage beds and tanning beds are a plus!

They have done an excellent job of cleaning and spacing out machines. Friendly staff, too.

Just joined, good so far. Would like to see some of the 30min classes later on more days. 30min workout are is good and a lot of equipment so, no waiting.

I have been a member for almost 10 years and this place has given me nothing but hard time. Some of the staff they have is very unprofessional. One of the employee’s they had, looked up all my personal information and reached out to me for a personal conversation, without my permission. That made me very uncomfortable. Don’t you have a policy for that? You shouldn’t be reaching out to members for personal reason. I never give you the right to share my information. I don’t feel comfortable going back there ever again. I feel like the staff isn’t train as they should be. Also whenever I ask to go tanning.. one person would ask for gaggles and other people won’t. It’s very frustrating and annoying. They definitely need some coaching and training.Very unprofessional and disappointing place.

Love it here, generally not too big a crowd, the staff is great, and they are well equipped with machines. You will feel comfortable being in here

Great gym for the price.. Only reason I dont give it a 5 is the corny siren if you make any kind of noise.. Drop a weight from one inch off the floor.. Stuff like that. Would prefer free weight bench press and incline over smith racks. For 10 bucks I will deal

Very rude staff forces people to wear masks while running 8 miles on treadmill. . No common sense here i will take my money elsewhere. The World Health Organization says people should NOT wear masks while exercising.

Nice gym,clean environment, lots of equipment and a friendly active staff who always appear to be cleaning.Men’s locker room can use an additional bench. I also have found the showers to be just lukewarm.

This has to be the worst gym I have ever been to. Some of the staff at this gym are rude. I dont wanna be that guy. Sorry but that is no way to start a conversation with a customer. I will be terminating my membership at this gym. Awful customer service.

Nice to have an affordable gym in town. I also feel a lot more comfortable at this gym compared to others I’ve tried in town.

Not $10 a monthThats just to get you in the door.Its only $10 a month if you commit to a whole year. There is a sign-on fee and a separate yearly fee that they charge after only two months. Of you want out of your year commitment it is almost 60 bucks.10 bucks a month? Lies. And all that for what is 2/3 cardio.After only 5 weeks there I go to cancel and they claim that I have been there 2 months so i have to pay the yearly fee in order to cancel. The place hasnt even been open two months!

Pretty small and doesnt have a wide variety of machines, but the staff is friendly and there is still an ok selection of cardio machines.

Disgusting money management preying on disabled combat veteran. People like this are the reason why consumer affairs needs to investigate this new locations shady and illegitimate business practices.

This is a particularly nice PF. The machines are well-placed so you feel like jumping right in and working out. Machines were up to date, easy to use and machine spacing was Covid compliant. The ladies restroom is not only clean but posh. The gym sparkled and the staff and members were courteous. My favorite PF yet!
