Beware: if you actually reserve your rental, there is only a short time window to retrieve it. Otherwise, they give it to next walk-in without any call or warning. Also, had multiple other vehicles in lot, but all needed oil changes. There is a Jiffy Lube across the street...

I saw a bunch of negative reviews. But seriously, how bad can it be? Answer: Frustrating enough that well never use them again.We rented a Jeep. The car was there; it was clean; no problems there. Well, other than the cold, unpleasant customer service agent. Had that been all, Id never have written this review.We drove from Salt Lake City to Hot Springs, South Dakota over Labor Day weekend. About 3 hours into the trip the check engine light came on. We called Budget in South Jordan, left a message. The car functioned fine, just had the warning light, so we kept driving. We could find no guidance in the owners manual.Friday night and Saturday I played a frustrating game. A message had come from South Jordan while we were out of range telling us to trade the car out at another Budget or call roadside service. The closest Budget was an hour away and they had nothin. Driving 3-4 hours to another Budget was out of the question. Roadside would not come because nothing on our receipt said Rental Agreement Number. I offered all the numbers and codes I could find on our paperwork. I was forwarded all over the place with the same answer: we cant help you. I got a call back from SJ Budget on Tuesday, reminding me that I said you should trade the car out or call Roadside Service. Believe me, I really really tried.I talked to Corporate. They could find the VIN, but they couldnt find a record that I had rented the vehicle. Ergo, no help from Corporate. And the local store was closed for 3 days.My son cleared the code and gave us some advice and followed us for hours to make sure it was roadworthy. My son gets a 5. But not Budget.

Would assign them a Zero. Gave what they claimed was a free upgrade to an SUV. Worst on Gas. Advised me to bring it back the next day. Showed up and office was closed. Left vehicle and then they charged for additional, days it took them to check it in. Terrible, Terrible, Terrible, Customer Service.

Had mixed thoughts after reading the reviews. Tried to call multiple times on questions I had. After a couple calls I was able to speak with someone and they helped me out. They definitely could improve things if this location had more than one associate at a time working. Also when booking through budget Utah it can be a little difficult to find your confirmation number for budget. The day of the trip everything worked perfect. Had a fun Dodge Charger. Needed to extend my time and that was a smooth process and returned with no issues. Definitely worth giving them a try but just know you may not get the exact car you want but they will work with what cars they have available. Good prices and convenient locations 👍.

This is the worst experience we have ever had with you as a company. We picked up our car on Friday June 12 and the car actually broke down on us Friday afternoon. We didnt make it to our destination. We called Roadside and were on the phone with them for 4hours which they refused to help us saying we didnt ever pick up the car and we didnt have a renter agreement number. We were only given 1 paperwork for which apparently meant nothing. We were able to find a hotel to park and stay the night luckily, we were able to find someone to help us look at the car and the car ended up having an update which took 45 min. We then drove home and returned it on Monday. Spoke to Budget was told a manager would call us. Never got a phone call. Come to find out no call and we were charged an extra $100. What a slap in the face. Leave us stranded and then offer nothing! The worst company and service we have ever dealt with and I can 100% guarantee we will never do business with you again and I will be telling everyone I know including my company to not do business with you as well.

Wish I could give zero stars. Rented three years ago and had a similar experience. Said Id never use them again, but they had a killer deal on their premium cars due to the pandemic. I was told one price at pickup. Tried to extend. Spent 5 hrs on that before I was able to extend. Verbally verified twice what the rate would be for the duration of my rental contract. Paid the amount up front. Returned the car and only refunded $57 of my $300 deposit. There was no damage to the car and they didnt even claim there was damage. They just changed the price of the rental as they wished and kept more of my money. I called them over a half dozen times trying to resolve this issue. Request two managers call me. Schedule those calls and no one ever contacted me. Sent emails. Went into the Orem office twice and was told there is nothing they can do. I was lied to and overcharged. Spend a little extra money and go somewhere else.

Not the worst experience as the pricing may be worth it (possibly) . Was told one price on the phone, then also same price online so i booked it . Went in to pick up the car and was told a different price + deposit (refund once car is returned) and now over a week later the deposit was pulled from my account and not refunded . No clue where my money is. And the car was dirty as can be when we picked it up . Frustrating experience to say the least. Hoping to find out where the $250 deposit went

Full Disclosure. If it was just the store, itd be 5 stars. Corporate gets 1.First, the store was great! Did what he could to keep me calm despite corporate screwing me over as detailed later. Very helpful and quick to get me the vehicle and on my way.Now the corporate review. I reserved my rental 3 weeks in advance. Youd think what I reserved would for sure be there. Nope. Not only was my reservation NOT there, nothing that was on the or equivalent list was there! Going on a 2000 mile trip already costs too much for gas but having to upgrade only have to spend more because the upgrade gets worse gas mileage. So a trip I planned for is now costing me more because this business has no clue how to fill reservations. This is not the first time Budget Rental has screwed me over because they cant clue in.

I read the negative reviews and decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. 3 weeks later and a random overcharge later I’m still trying to get my money back. Once they have your credit card on file they just steal your money for no reason. They said it was corporate, corporate says it’s the location. One person said it was for returning a few hours EARLY. Between emails phone calls messenger and going nowhere I think they want you to give up. Don’t do it.

Despite the negative reviews I decided to give this location a try, considering they were about half the cost of other places. Sure I didnt get the car I reserved, but when theyll upgrade me for the same price Im not going to complain. I guess could complain about being upgraded to an SUV with lower gas mileage then what I was planning, but it really wasnt THAT much worse. Plus it was a much more comfortable and fun ride. The after hours return was easy to do, too.

I received the exceptional service and drove away in the highest quality of vehicle. Even when the computer went down, the rental manager completed my rental paperwork by hand. He also remained calm without allowing the business and stress of the office to affect his calm and confident demeanor. He was kind and firm, abiding by the company policies, yet at the same time, making the rental process easy for me.I will continue to rent from this office in the future!

Not the best renting experience. When we went to pick our car up, 30 minutes later than the time we told them we would be there, there was no car to pick up. Our other options were an expired car, a car with a flat tire, and a truck that we never wanted anyway because we own a truck and because of the weather didnt want our bags to get wet in the bed.The employee explained that Fridays are always so busy and with Spring Break it was even busier. A call in the morning before we picked our car up would have been fantastic! We would have been able to make different plans. I did try to call twice that morning to confirm and no one ever answered. When we returned the car we paid the original price quoted which was also kind of disappointing.Because of the delay my daughter missed team dance pics and she was pretty upset.Budget does have great rates, but Im not sure paying less is worth it if it this is the experience you get. We have to rent again for a vacation in September. You can bet your bottom dollar that we for sure WONT be renting from this location, and will seriously consider even renting from Budget at all.

I had a fantastic experience. I made a reservation for a compact car, but they did not have a compact car. The only car they had was a 2015 Ford Mustang with a manual transmission. They allowed me to rent the Mustang at the compact car price. It was awesome! Rental and return was a breeze. Clean facility, lots of space to park my return. The Car was in immaculate condition inside and out. The only downside was that they dont answer their phone. It took many attempts before we could speak to a rep.

Needed a car. Now I wished Id have walked. The folks at this place didnt do what they talked. They were not honest with price. They were not good at their job. They refused to give me a mangers number, I thought that was quite odd. The experience itself, I could talk about forever, but to sum it all up, please find someone better. Enterprise for instance is right down the street. I suggest a car from there where your expectations they will meet.

This is the absolute worst rental car experience EVER!!! We’ve never had problems with Budget, but this South Jordan, Utah location is a joke. The car we had picked out to pick up wasn’t even at the site. The gal at the counter claimed it needed an oil change, but wouldn’t be available for another two or more hours. She mentioned some other cars to take in its place, but stated that they needed to be cleaned as they were dirty. She said she couldn’t clean them, because she was alone at the store and appeared very overwhelmed, even though no one was in the store, but myself at the time. We ended up paying more than the cost quoted, “because she already printed the paperwork and couldn’t change the price”, but told me to discuss that issue when we returned the car. This same gal said the new protocol questions for rental include asking place of employment of the renter and job description. ??Weird?? We ended up cleaning the car ourself, when we got home, pulling out large trash items and wiping down the seats. We returned the car 5 days ago and still waiting on the “emailed receipt”. We won’t be back to this ridiculous place, for sure!!!

1st when picking up car the attendant acted like he did not want to help us, but everyone can have a bad day.2nd, called in to keep the truck one more day and was authorized. I returned it the next day as agreed 30 minutes before it was due. They were closed and I deposited the keys and documents in the drop box as I had been instructed. Come Tuesday and they want to charge me for more days. Called their customer care and was told I would get my refund for the difference. I have called every day and it is now Friday and mo refund yet. I will have to go in so use more time and money, well see if they finally take care of it. I thought I found a place I could rent from due to their rates. WRONG!!

Terrible experience at this location. The are not open on weekends. They have only one person working at a time. The Budget Rental Car fastbreak no hassle promise is a lie. They didn’t have the type of car i selected when i rented and prepaid online. Even with prepaying and full coverage and copy of drivers license and insurance declaration they want to put a hold of $300 on my checking account. Take your business elsewhere.

The only downfall about this rental place is that you wont get the exact car youve reserved but Rob ALWAYS makes up for it. He would always try to take care of me. Now, Budget seriously needs to raise his pay since he does mostly everything unlike most car rentals youll have at least 2 or more people to help you. He takes the cars out for a wash, he tries to get you a car and get you out ASAP. Thanks Rob! Youre the best!

Called around 5:30 today(7/11/16). Took calling two times for some one to pick up the phone. Told me that I needed to be there at 5:45 to rent a car. Asked for a compact($30 ish per day). They did not have. Wanted to up sell me to a $56 per day. Hung up. Called Enterprise. Asked for a compact. Did not have any. Offered me a Dodge 1500 truck with 150 miles on truck for compact price. Mentioned truck has high MPG. Stayed open for me after 6 pm so I could rent from them. Happy I called Enterprise.PS. Please post your business hours in Google.

National call center tells you one thing, local branch tells you another, customer support line for the Utah locations wont call you back for 24 hours. Saving $5 a day isnt worth the hassle. Ill stick with Enterprise from now on.

I would leave zero stars if possible. I don’t understand how businesses can possibly stay in business when they have a complete lack of any form of customer service.I arrived yesterday afternoon to pick up my scheduled rental. There wasn’t a soul there and it took a few minutes for one of the employees to walk out from around their wall to help me. She typed a few things in the computer and told me that my reservation had been cancelled. She offered no explanation other than ‘sometimes we have computer issues’. I told her i had not cancelled it and she said she had not cancelled it and in fact had seen my reservation in the system earlier in the day. She basically told me there was nothing she could do, but that i could pull my phone out and make another reservation online. She wasn’t going to help me make one there in person!!??Then i tried to confirm they actually had the vehicle type i had reserved. She told me no and said they never have full size sedans in stock, none of the locations do and that had i still had a reservation they would have just upgraded me. Sure, maybe someone would appreciate that. Not me! I booked a specific vehicle type because thats what i wanted. Upgrading me to an suv when i already own one defeats the purpose of renting a sedan to get good gas mileage for my road trip. What is the point of making reservations for them to be ignored and disregarded? Would have been just as upset to show up and my reservation been fine and dandy in their system only to have been walked out to the wrong vehicle type.Either way i left there without a rental. Was very upset to have wasted my time and been left scrambling last minute to find a reliable rental company. Not once did the clerk offer any kind of apology or any way of fixing the problem. I absolutely will never rent from Budget or this location again. Ive always had an amazing experience with Enterprise, i should have trusted my gut and stuck with them. I will from here on out. Why have a phone if you literally never answer it? I got tired of calling(7 times over 5 hours) and went down in person... just for kicks I called the phone right as I’m walking in and the guy working there is standing at the desk doing nothing but just letting the phone ring... I ask him if he is going to answer and he makes a noise and says ‘it’s been ringing allll day’... doesn’t answer. He was very disinterested the entire time I was there. Can’t remember his name but his name tag did say supervisor... won’t be coming back to Budget again. Not worth the hassle to save a couple bucks.

My first experience with budget: I rented a 12 passengers full size van for a road trip to San Francisco in August, they gave me a 10 passengers van and told me they didnt have one in their lot and I needed to drive to the airport to exchange myself.My second experience with budget: I rented a mini van for a trip to Las Vegas with my visitors from foreign country. I made my reservations 3 weeks ahead and I scheduled pick up on 9/24/15 at 9 am. I went to pick up the car about 10 and the guy who works their told me they dont have my car here yet and need to call someone to drive it from the airport. I wasnt happy at that time but I just say okay because I needed it for my trip today. Then he called the airport and they said they dont have one for me, how lovely. Hotel was booked, everything was arranged. I asked them if they can upgraded me to a 10 passengers one because I had 7 people going. He told me NO they dont have one right away, without making phone calls to the airport or other branches if they have one or not.Budget, I am done with the horrible services you guys have. I have never experienced such a bad customer services in my life. I would never go to you guys again in my life. Also, I strongly recommended other peoples not renting car from Budget.

It appears that the hours of operation are only a suggestion. Showed up on a Wednesday at 3pm and then waited one hour before the sole employee showed up. Had to return my car the next day because when the AC runs it smelled like a smokers bedroom. I arrived at 8am and had to wait till 8:30 before anyone showed up. It appears that Budget has one employee who is in charge of running the front desk AND cleaning the cars.The bad:Never actually open during store hoursCars smell like like smokeThe good:Decent price

Horrible customer service. Had a confirmed reservation and the guy kept saying they were overbooked. He was looking for any excuse not to rent a car to me. I didnt have two phone numbers and he would NOT rent me a car because of that. He kept asking for a home number in addition to my cell. I couldnt believe that in this day and age he couldnt understand that most people have one phone. If they werent overbooked it wouldnt have mattered.

Bad experience, I was skeptical when I was renting the car because the reviews were so bad with this store. I thought what could go wrong on renting a car. First off, the employee needs to brush his teeth! He did not have an understanding of how billing works. On top of that when I was gonna return during after hours, (on a National holiday) he failed to communicate on the important piece of info HOW TO RETURN. And for his failure to communicate his Business requirement, I was overcharged an amount of $50 stating they received the keys the NEXT DAY. How on earth the car would be at their door step and the keys in their dropbox with FULL TANK and they think I have returned after they opened their office the next day!. DUMB business, or DUMB management.

I had a long road trip planned. I wanted an economy car. I reserved an economy car. I made that reservation more than a week ahead of my trip. I was very disappointed to find that there were no economy cars available when I arrived to pick up the rental. I explained that there was a reason that I reserved an economy car, the attendant just shrugged. I had pe-paid so it would have cost me $50 to cancel the rental at that point.I ended up in a Camry, which cost about $25 more in gas than an economy car would have. The car istelf was clean outside but had crumbs in the seats and dust/fingerprints on the control screen. Also the maintenance required message popped up during the first day of my trip ... annoying.I wonder why they even have a reservation system. They dont seem to make any effort to have vehicles matching their reservations available.

Well, I had a reservation for a car at 10:00 am. When I got there they had a note on the outside door saying Will return at 10:30 am. So I was already super irritated. I had a trip planned and needed to be on the road by 11. So I call them on the phone - no answer at all. It just keeps ringing and ringing, no voicemail or anything. I give up and go to Enterprise down the road and they got me a car within 15 minutes. Dont go to them. They obviously dont know how to run a business.

Poor Service, Over Worked Staff!! Phone is not always answered, set up rental online.. went to pick up and price went up..??!!However, for a week rental in midsize car was good, but if you need to extend use beyond that, this is where they get you.When I called in to extend 2 more days, they said it was $85, when I dropped the car off, Tank was Full, no damage whatsoever to vehicle, they said my deposit would be released and mailed out. I waited 2 weeks, called them..was told it should be here any day. Waited 2 more weeks, called again.. this time was transferred all over.. no one had an answer, or could not access my records.was told to call, Again, branch where I rented. No one was answering phone, took until next day to reach someone!I asked about refund of $150 deposit, was told it was used to pay remaining balance for extended use..What??!!I had paid $85 for that, total amount for 2 day extended use was the $85 PLUS $128 of the deposit!! Making a total of $213 for 2 days extra!!! $106.50 a day???!!!On top of all of this.. I NEVER recieved the $22 refund.. so add it up..... total RIP OFF!!DEFINITELY NOT A SATISFIED CUSTOMER

Horrible service. We had a reservation. When we got there they tried to downsize us. The person working was impatient and didnt want to help us because she was closing soon. They sent us to another budget place. They gave us the run around and tried to give us a car we didnt want. And xharge us an extra 200 deposit on top of the 250. Ended up havi g to wait another day. Lost a hotel reservation because of the delay. Went the next day and they gave us the wrong car again and sent us to yet another budget to trade in the car we dont want. Stressful and unprofessional.. will never rent from them again.

If I could give zero stars, I would! Don’t rent from them. We reserved a car back in February and pre-paid. We rented a Dodge Charger. I went in the day before to make sure we would get our car and was told yes. I called ahead of time the day of and was told, oh sorry, we only have SUVs left. What?!?! If I wanted a dang SUV that’s what I would’ve rented in the first place!!! What so now are you going to pay for all the extra gas an SUV will take?? Never renting from them again!!!

Sorry for all the folks who had a bad experience here. My wife and I rented a nice, brand-new Sub Crosstrek for 5 days and didnt have one hitch. They were quick about getting us the vehicle and quick about taking it back. I dont have a single thing to complain about.

First of all they have killer deals on weekly rentals.Second of all I’ll never go anywhere else to rent....My reservation was at 11AM 30 mins to 11AM I called to let them know that I was running late due to construction, Talked to Tessle Denning she told me that was fine and not a problem and to get there as soon as I could, I ended up not getting there until 12PM she was completely understanding and so friendly went over every detail with me and walked around my rental with me not just sent me out to do it myself like other rental places have done in the past. When I returned my rental I had the pleasure of getting the same Tessle Denning again and she is just awesome 👏🏼 so I have NO idea what these other bad reviews are all about but don’t let them stop you from renting here I’d give this place 10 stars ⭐️ if I could because that is what they totally deserve!!!!

Their Human error and their Systems both strike out. Two failures for two tries. Both times I tried their location I showed up and they didnt have my car. Not only did they not have my car ready but they didnt have a car for me at all. This last rental attempt was a family health emergency.Please just dont even try them.

We showed up after making a reservation 1.5 months in advance and they did not have what we needed for the car we reserved. The woman who we talked to told us well sorry, no one sent cars today. They had another car that matched what we had reserved but she wouldnt rent it to us because in quote another person has a reservation and I talked to them and they MiGHT show up today. When are you leaving town? I responded with uh, right now. Since you dont have what we need what can Budget due in sense of a rental discount in the future? She responded with well you can call the costumer service number. Needless to say Im not impressed and will never rent a car from here.

Just Called to find out a price for a date end of September. Rental is needed for just under two weeks, and guy had no interest in helping me. I informed him I was calling direct because all the many web sites were driving me crazy trying to find a best price. I let him know I was referred to their office because my brother had a fantastic experience with them a few months ago when they took a family trip. I Was just quoted just under $1400 for a Mini Van. I asked if that was the best he could do ( knowing I found pricing online for $608), and he told me vans are in such High demand that he cant do anything about the price because they always sell out. He said if I wanted to look at another 5 or 6 person car, he could get it down. I asked what model of cars he was talking about, he said I DONT KNOW....I said I need an example, he said well maybe a Corolla. I said no we dont want to go that small...He said okay thanks bye and HUNG UP!! Worst customer service I have ever experienced. The entire conversation he was rushing, and didnt care to answer my questions, or talk to me about options. If this is how Budget handles business, then I guess I will go with Enterprise. I was treated as an inconvenience and Budget clearly didnt have any interest in finding an option that would give them my business. Find someone to work your desk that actually cares about the customers, and actually has enough knowledge to make suggestions and quote actual information. Telling me all you can do is get me a corolla when I asked for a van is just ridiculous. I dont know should never be a response to a customer in any business! Will never try this place again! I would suggest everyone go elsewhere and dont waste your time.**UPDATE***Called the 800 number in the response from the owner. There is no intentions on discussing the issue further, I was just connect to a sales agent. He sympathized with me stating they expect top notch customer service from their employees, but then just asked to discuss my rental car needs. The bid they gave me was just under $1700.00. That is $300 more than the first bid. SO AGAIN....Dont WASTE your time! Budget doesnt actually intend to do anything about the associate at the counter in their location. They just tried to sell me in another way.

Please consider somewhere else. The two employees I worked with were confused and dishonest(worst and most inept location I have ever been to in any state). TLDR: They won’t honor your reservation, won’t provide even the most basic customer service, and will just cause you a massive headache. If you rent from Budget, you will most likely run into issues that no one can solve or seems to care about. Save the headache and go somewhere else.I made a reservation 3 weeks in advance for a mini-van. Three days before my scheduled reservation, I called to make sure everything was confirmed & ready to go. I was told that they could not confirm they would have a mini van available and they wouldn’t know if a mini van was available until they morning I was supposed to pick up my reservation. They offered to give us a 7 passenger SUV, but as I had to explain about 20 times, we requested a mini van because that is the exact vehicle we needed and we did not want to pay the extra cost of gas for a SUV. I spent 2-3 hours on the phone every day for the next few days between this location & corporate trying to get my reservation sorted out. INCREDIBLY LONG story short, minutes before we canceled our vacation, they found us a minivan, 3 hours after our reservation time. They told us to pick it up in 30 mins. We arrived 30 mins later, and they closed the ENTIRE store for lunch, which is ridiculous, especially when they said the car would be ready at that time! So we had to wait an additional 30 mins for them to give us a car that smelled like smoke. Since it was apparently the only available minivan in the valley, we took the smoke-smelling van. Without going in to even more details, I was hung up on multiple times, lied to, led astray, placed on 15+ minute holds, and treated very rudely. I was told multiple times the manager, Cody, would call me, and I have still not heard from him. As a manager of multiple Budget locations, he apparently doesn’t have a direct contact number, which is either a lie or Cody is the worst manager in history. I was able to speak to Megan, the customer service manager for all of Utah, and it was a very unprofessional call. I could hear loud music in the background, to the point where I recognized what song was playing. It is worth the extra cost to choose a different rental company. I have never experience such poor customer service before. Be aware that because this is an independent location, there isn’t much corporate can or will do. If you rent from budget, you will most likely run into issues that no one can solve or seems to care about. Save the headache and go somewhere else.

Horrible company. Its worth paying a little extra to go to another car rental company. The experience was utterly horrible. I reserved a vehicle at the South Jordan location a week in advance. showed up the day of pickup and the vehicle was not there. They sent me to the Murray location to pick up the vehicle I had reserved and offered only a $10 discount for my trouble which I had to remind them several times to do in the end. I tried calling the store several times during the process with the phone only ringing nonstop. Me and my wife actually called the store as we were pulling up and saw the employee sitting out front smoking a cigarette while the phone just ring over and over. When I finally returned the vehicle it took way too long for them to refund the $150 deposit back in my account. Each time I call to ask why the money wasnt put back in my account yet. The phone would ring endlesslyperiod when you called corporate customer service number they said there was nothing they could do that I needed to talk to the store. When I finally got ahold of somebody at the store they said theres nothing they could do I would have to call the corporate customer service line. after a week of trying to get somebody to do something. Finally a manager at the Murray store push the button on his computer and the money was magically back in my account. Do not ever rent a vehicle from these people do not give them your business. They do not deserve it. only in the hopes that no one else will ever have to go through such a disappointing experience with something as simple as renting a vehicle. Pay the extra money and just use Enterprise.

I rent frequently from this Budget location - probably 10-15 times in the past 2 years. Budget usually has the lowest price, but there are some downsides with the check in process and certain car types not always being available. Overall its been a mostly good experience and my expectations are met most of the time.The customer service is adequate - not overly friendly or efficient. They only ever have one employee, so if you are scheduled to pick up first thing in the morning or a busy time, might be a longer wait. Usually takes about 10 minutes / person. I usually rent between 2-5pm and have only had to wait behind someone else a couple of times. Longest I ever waited probably about 20 minutes for my turn.The biggest issue for most people is car availability. They dont always have the exact car class that you rented online. I have rented from everywhere and this happens at every rental company. They will usually upgrade you to a larger / nice car if they dont have what you reserved. This usually works fine, but sometimes inconvenient. One time I rented a car and the only vehicle available was a mini-van. Most of the time its renting a smaller SUV and all they have is a larger SUV or truck. I have only seen them run out of everything once or twice on busy holiday weekends, towards the end of the day, but this will happen at any car rental company and isnt unique to Budget.I usually rent a full-size sedan or smaller SUV. Often times we are given a car with a premium trim, so it has leather or heated seats, or other extra features. The cars are usually pretty clean inside, sometimes a little dirty on the outside. We have never had any issues with a car breaking down or needing repairs - Their car fleet all seems to be 0-2 years old, most have less than 15k Miles. The last few rentals I have had had less than 5k miles on them.In summary - I have rented form this location 15+ times - every time they had some type of vehicle available - most of the time they have the right car type that I reserved. Never had issues with the cars not running correctly. Customer service at the couther is fine but not really friendly. Check-in / rental process is a little tedious, takes about 10 min / customer. When you consider Budget is usually much cheaper than other options, a few smaller trade-offs in wait time usually worth it overall.

Didnt get the car we ordered. Wanted a car with good gas Milage and went to pick up what we ordered and it was an SUV. After we got the car there was empty beer bottles and beer caps in the backseat. Worst car rental place we have been to. Will NOT be going back to Budget. The man working the front counter was the rudest man I have ever met. He needs a new profession. He didnt even care when I told him about the beer bottles and caps

Worst rental place ever. They do not answer their phone, no matter how many times you call. Not allowed to stay parked there. They have ridiculous policies, and wait until they’ve wasted lots of your time until they specify these policies. The guy who worked there was very rude about everything, and I will never be returning to this budget location, or any for that matter. Do not rent through them.

I would give negative review if I could. Reserved car for a week and pick up time at 10:30AM. The car wasnt ready until 3. Dan was kind an apologetic about the situation, although it was an inconvenience, Im not upset about that mishap. However, the day before my rental was due for return, I called CS to extend my rental for another week since my car was still in the shop getting fixed from an accident. The corporate CS told me my information wasnt coming up on their system. After speaking to 3 different agents, I find out that this South Jordan location is an independent company that operates under Budget. So they asked me to call them directly, which I did. I must have called over 50 times in two days to reach them to no avail. I ended up having to speak to a corporate manager to open up a case against them, but I still could not extend my rental through corp. I kept trying to contact and reach the Sojo location 4 days after. Still no avail. I would physically go in there, but I am currently 45 min away taking care of my MIL whom just was discharged from the hospital. Its been an absolute nightmare trying to deal with them while my family is going through a medical emergency.

They didnt have the car I reserved, so they forced me into another with worse gas mileage and less storage. The interior of the windshield was dirty, and the car clearly had not been cleaned well before rented. I suggest you find another location.

Absolutely terrible location. They need to learn what customer service means. They were rude, neglected to inform me of pertinent information, and nailed me with a late fee that was double the daily rate for being late..barely...with the return. I rent monthly and normally use Enterprise, gave Budget a try. This location lost Budget any chance of return business.

Despite reserving a vehicle for 2:30, they had 0 cars available when we arrived. We had to wait 1.5 hours for a car to be driven over from the airport. When we returned the car, the same thing happened to two other renters. Customer service was atrocious. Well be avoiding Budget from now on.

Ive never received a worse experience renting a car. Tried to extend my rental and couldnt get thru. Called corporate and since this store is indipendently run they dont put their contracts in the same system. So I was stuck in the middle of not being able to extend and not being able to leave on time. I spoke to the rep when I got back and all i got was a tough luck. The rep wasnt willing to help or listen. We tried calling the location numerous times and nobody answered. Be sure to have their number before you leave because the google number isnt right and they dont provide you with it. Worst experience ever.

Experience with Budget thus far: arrived today at 5 p.m. to pick up reserved standard car (Chevy Impala or similar). They did not have one. Offered an upgrade to a Subaru Forrester or a Jeep Compass. Took the Jeep reluctantly because we are leaving on vacation in the morning with 5 people - 3 adults and 2 teenagers and the back seat is small with double cup holders on the floor in the middle at the back of the console. Who can sit in the middle without a place to put their feet?Get the car home and my husband says no go. Calls customer service and they say to exchange it at the airport. 2 1/2 hours later (the majority of the time spent waiting in line) he arrives at home with a Kia Optima. Says its all they had and is a full size car. Driving hours with 5 people will not be a comfortable experience. Checked the measurements of the Impala vs. the Optima. The Impala is 11 inches longer. The two cars arent similar in my mind. Very frustrating experience and we havent even left town yet.

One of the worst customer service place I have ever tried in my life. The man at the front desk was so rude and disrespectful both when we got the car and dropped it. Always interrupting my wife and I when we were trying to ask questions or for explanation.And after such a horrible experience, Im asking for his name as I intend to talk about my worst experience with car rental service, wouldnt give it to is and was threatening to call the cops on us.Will never go back.

I honestly wish I could give no stars. My wife and I rented a sport car from this budget location and it was a terrible experience from the start. When I arrived to pick up the car I wanted to put on my debit card. I was told by Rob that I would need to purchase their full coverage insurance to do this because it was budgets policy. When I asked to see that in writing because I couldnt find it in the terms and condition he changed his story and said I need to have proof of full coverage insurance. I provided that and then he said that he actually needed a declaration page from my insurance. I asked to speak with a manager at that point and he said there wasnt one there and he was just following the rules of budget. I got on the phone and my insurance faxed him the copy. I was finally free to leave with my rental. The car was the only nice thing about this place. It was brand new and looked amazing.I returned the car on time but the location was closed. I filled out the form and dropped it in the drop box with the keys. Two days later(today) I got an email with my final charges and noticed that it was marked as returned today and I was charged for an extra 2 days and 17 hours. I honestly figured it was an innocent mistake. So I called budget to get it resolved and of course mr Rob answered the phone. I started to try to explain that I was having issues with the final bill I received and he instantly cut me off and started explaining all the reasons I could possibly be seeing these charges. When he finally finished explaining and allowed me to speak I told him my issues. He told me their was nothing he could do and that I needed to speak with customer care. I asked again for a manager and he told me no one was on duty. He then transferred me to customer care without a warning or goodbye. I left a voicemail for them since no one was in and then looked up another customer care number. I had to leave another voicemail but was promised a return call. I just received that call and that is what prompted this review. While the young lady that assisted me was amazing and corrected the billing issue she also let it slip that this rob character is the branch manager and should of been able to help me. This guy is honestly hurting Budget of South Jordan. I will constantly be posting reviews like this in hopes that this guy gets some serious training. Until than I will never rent from budget again. Rent a Ford Mustang for $150/day for 2 days in Salt Lake City international airport, bring the car back one hour late and they charged me $44.51 the hours while it’s was written on the contract $25 per day if rental is not returned on due date but they charged $44.51!! Like 35% on the daily rate for just one hour late.. this really not fair at all and it might the last time to rent with them..

My experience was horrible . We were stuck there for hours because the employee neglected to tell me that you can only run a credit card twice . If I wouldve known that I wouldve called my bank before swiping again . If offered no help at all . Also for the almost 3 hours we were there he kept a will return soon sign hanging in the door .
