If I could give a zero I would. This new company is horrible. I put a service request in on August 30 for my oven not working. I did not hear from them until September 30 to inform me they replacing the oven. When they finally showed up after waiting 4 hours the so called oven was a used oven. I have gone a whole month having to go out and buy my 3 kids food most days because of no oven to be given a used oven. NOT ACCEPTABLE. I do not recommend anyone coming here to live. I am not the only one with this issue as others have waited longer. Avalon would not allow this to happen for so long. Since “The Grove” has taken over I have seen numerous people in the office. When you call the office more then half the time there’s no answer. Don’t waste your time and money here.

Someone is stealing packages here. Lost three packages within one week, even found the empty box of my lost package in the trash bin!! Never happened with Avalon before!!!No camera in the mailroom and no way to deal with stealing. Number of opened packages in the lobby. They do not care about your stolen packages. Extremely unsafe for any online purchases. Not replying email.Besides that the community itself is good. Very good environment and facilities. Really enjoyed with Avalon Team.

Absolutely terrible service and 0 communication through the application process. I do not even live here but just going through the process of renting from them was a complete nightmare. So glad I avoided them! I can tell things would have been worse if I had lived there. Let me explain, I ended up applying online for an apartment and got my application approved in a couple days. No problem there, but then after that 0 communication, I have tried calling and emailing SEVERAL times over the next couple of weeks. No one answers the phones or emails EVER. The answering machine always states they are away and they don’t respond to emails. Weeks had gone by after I had filled my application before I moved on to another apartment complex who actually answers my phone and emails. They wasted a lot of my time where I could have been spent searching elsewhere. It should not be this difficult to try to obtain an apartment, I should not be putting this much effort in trying. They should be the ones trying to fill their units….I really have no idea what’s going on in this apartment complex, and would definitely avoid.

Maintenance requests take 5-7 days to get a response. Apathetic tenants dump their mattresses and furniture in the trash rooms. There has been a mattress in there since May 5 and it’s now June 13th. Package theft in the mailrooms. The pool is laissez-faire. Non-residents can use at their convenience. Grass has been getting up to 12 inches high at times.

Ever since the complex was purchased by Harbor Management Group everything has gone down hill and fast. Amenities fees were raised but they don’t keep up with the amenities to even make them useable. We had to try 6 different grills in the complex before giving up because nothing was in working order.

A management company that cant fix elevator for days and it keeps breaking down every other week.

Sadly, I have to agree with the comment from Weiye Xie; S.M. and Ryan Bassemier. The Rental office Team and Service Team from Avalon were far better than now. Except Angel Quinones, unfortunately, he was only worked as Temporary during the transiting in Dec 2020. if there is no improvement and the rent / fee are kept increasing, I am planning to move out when my lease is expired. The current team is not responded to my Email at all. If it has less than 1 star, I think I will give 0.5.

It’s not safe for your package anymore, but it’s the time for us to have a lot of online orders due to the COVID. My package was stolen twice inside the lobby within 2 weeks. I lived here for 3 years. Never happened under the Avalon management. Barely hear from the management team, except reminding of you to pay the rent. I start to wonder the safety of the whole community! PLEASE do something, our new management!!!

Bria and all staff in the leasing office were amazing, we saw the apartment Tuesday and she had us approved and keys in hand by Wednesday! The apartment is beautiful and clean! My fiancé and I are thrilled to be living here!

Hands down the best apartment complex I have lived at. The staff has been always accommodating and so helpful to assist. I have lived at the apartment complex for over 2 years. Greg is very personable, friendly and checks up as if I was part of his family. The maintenance staff has always been very quick to respond. I loved how I never had any issues with my apartment and only needed maintenance to help remove hair out of my tub (which they gladly did so-thank you guys!). The apartment complex is safe and quiet which is a HUGE bonus. They have a great gym and pool within the community. Receiving packages is super easy even during COVID. Thank you Avalon Somerset SO MUCH for making my time at the complex a 5 star all around. I hope my next place will be just as amazing!

UPS shipped my package to old address and I called Avalon to see if they can help, Sergio helped, retrieved the package and shipped back to me. My husband I moved to Avalon Somerset in July . We really love the apt complex . It has a very beautiful landscape . The apt is very clean and quiet . The staff is professional and helpful . Raphael, heads maintenance . He has come to our apt a few times . He was very prompt to answer the service call . He is very friendly and skilled to fix the issues if needed . We are truly happy in our new home .

Just renewed my lease! Excited for another year at Avalon. Great staff all-around from leasing to maintenance. Great amenities- unfortunately restricted use lately due to COVID, but staying optimistic for the future. The community itself is very well-kept. Dog friendly means you’re constantly surrounded by cute puppers! Not to mention a clutch location right off 287 and close to New Brunswick and all it has to offer. Really happy with both my choices to move in here last year, and to continue living here.

Five stars review for Avalon Somerset staff, Glen. He has been VERY helpful with all the repair works in our apartment. He always go beyond in his service. For example he came in today to change the heating element in the dishwasher. Then he also took the time to show me how to clean the dishwasher parts today and giving me tips to maintain the dishwasher.He says Hi to my husband and I when we see him on the property ground and are always positive and courteous. Avalon Somerset is so lucky to have Glen on their team! And if I could put Glen on my apartment service request, I would!

Since Its only been a few months since we moved here I should ideally not be writing this review so soon, but the fact that I am doing it is because Avalon Somerset merits it. When you rent an apartment what you look for is a clean, well maintained unit and shared amenities plus a responsive maintenance team to handle any potential issues. Avalon.Somerset scores on these aspects.They keep the place clean and their no smoking policy is a bonus. Their gym and other amenities are well maintained. In our experience so far, the responsiveness and support from the staff at the leasing office (Mohamed, Greg & Rachael) has been extraordinary. Having said that, If not the most, we would probably be up there in reporting the most in unit maintenance related issues since we moved in. From the bathroom to the kitchen sink and dishwasher, we have had a variety of petty but critical issues. Though initially it was quite frustrating, the positive and way in which their leasing staff handled our complaints and the agility with which their maintenance team responded is commendable. In some instances their Maintenance Supervisor Rafael personally took care of some issues. They went that extra mile to accommodate our request for some personal challenges we were facing. We would recommend this place for a hassle free peaceful living. Kudos to Sergio and his team. Thank you Mohamed, Greg and Rafael!!!!

From the first tour of the community to now living here for almost 6 months, Rachael has always greeted us with a smile and has been very helpful to our needs, and quick to attend to any problems that arise. The grounds and facilities are kept clean every day by friendly courteous workers. The workout room is open 24//7 are rarely crowded and the pool area is lovely. Its truly a great place to call home. Thank you to Rachael and the rest of the team!

It’s been my experience that Raphael is a professional, friendly, positive and extremely competent member of the maintenance staff. I had an on going issue that he eventually solved. He was determined to make sure it was resolved to my satisfaction. In addition, I’m confident that all routine maintenance problems are resolved by him.

I have lived at Avalon for 5 years now and I truly love living here. The staff is courteous, respectful, and the maintenance crew is on top of everything. I enjoy the beautiful grounds and the amenities. The reason why I give it 3 stars is because of the amount of noise I get from the upstairs neighbors and the lack of responsiveness from Management. I have complained numerous times to the office, but they seem to think, it is reasonable noise. They also “tested” the noise in both apartments to see if there were any structural reasons, but once again, they think its reasonable. I can literally hear the wife stump, I can trace her steps, I know when she goes to the bathroom, to the kitchen. We can hear the children jumping and running, I can hear their conversations in the master bedroom to say the least, I can even hear the husband snore, let alone the loud music. If that is “reasonable” then there’s definitely something wrong with the structure. Last night, they had loud music until midnight, and the music continued today. They seem to be nice people, but obviously inconsiderate to their neighbors. We sometimes ignore it because We truly love living here and my commute to work is non negotiable but the management should do a better job at controlling the noisy residents and reinforcing the noise policy. Some of the staff lives here, but we dont have anyone to call after hours to report these incidents to.

I moved into the Somerset Avalons about a year ago with moderate expectations of it being a place I lived for only a year or so. Im now going onto year 2 and love it here. The location is great, the gym is amazing, and the pool in the summer is a huge plus.Aside from my living experience exceeding my expectations, the Staff at the Avalons are always very friendly, and very timely to follow up with any requests. If I put in a request for anything that needs to be fixed in my unit, a maintenance staff member is knocking on my door minutes after I make a request.The Office Staff is great, Mohamed always has my packages ready for me and follows up with me timely on any of my questions I have about my Avalon experience.

We moved to Avalon Somerset in December. The location is great and private. The staff is very friendly and attentive. They have addressed our concerns immediately. The maintenance team is amazing! Glen has been very helpful since day 1. He makes sure that our issue is resolved. He has addressed all our service issues till date and not once did we have a problem! My family and I are very pleased with our decision to live in a well kept and quiet complex!

A PERFECT place to live! Great neighborhood! The 24hr gym was especially amazing for myself. I work days and nights so having that open was a huge plus. This is my first apartment after graduating college and I love living here! The location is great and the area is safe and clean. Writing this review mainly cause of how efficient the maintenance staff is here. I would put in a work request and Glen would show up eager to help and would fix anything/everything right away, he’s the best!

I was a resident at the Avalon Somerset for about 6 years. Overall I had a great experience and loved walking the grounds and going to the gym in the mornings. The pool area is a nice touch as well as the 24 hour lounge. I moved due to a relocation. When I was moving Sergio from the leasing office and his team were accommodating in terms of explaining my options and working with me when I had a delay in moving. Another plus about the property is that it is pet friendly. The maintenance staff is also attentive. Overall I would recommend living at Avalon Somerset. If there are any issues that may arrive like a hallway needing cleaning or trash room needing attending to, the Avalon team is right on it. Its right off I-287 which is another plus.

A great place to live, absolutely! Great neighborhood vibe and very pet friendly. I would add that the maintenance staff is PHENOMENAL. Weve called on their services on a few occasions and each time, we were met with efficiency, skill and a very positive experience. The engineer Glenn seems to be a jack of all trades and Master of them all! His expertise has been equaled by his cool demeanor and his ability to make us feel at ease and important. We have lived here for two months and find the place just wonderful.Our two-bedroom, two bath apartment has all the modern conveniencesand overlooks a lovely, park-like courtyard. Its been very quiet and theplace is kept very clean. Theres a great swimming pool with life guardson duty and an excellent gym with a large selection of exerciseequipment. Avalon Somerset is in a beautiful community with nearbyshopping and with access to several highways. The office staff is justamazing and courteous, and the maintenance team is excellent.

I’ve loved living here. It’s beautiful and well kept. The staff is great and quick to respond to your requests. I had a great experience with a staff member named Glen who just fulfilled a service request for me (replacing a fire alarm)! It’s really a good place to live.

I am a current resident at Avalon Somerset and can only say positive things about my experience thus far with the leasing office and maintenance staff. We recently had our oven break and Glen from the maintenance team was quick to resolve and kept us informed the entire way. I was really appreciative of him being so friendly and helpful. Avalon Somerset overall has been a wonderful experience and this is my second time living here. The office staff to include Rachael, Greg, Sergio and Mohammed are all absolutely fantastic! Melissa was awesome!!! She made sure to show me and my friend around and picked out the perfect place for us. We wanted something not on top of each other and they have a great two bedroom with two full bathrooms and basically two living rooms which is exactly what we needed. Very professionally run facility. I stayed there for 3 years. loved the staff and support I received. Of course, their building is relatively new. Extra large windows; modern amenity are the key. For me Pet friendly was not a key factor. I will recommend it to my friends.

The maintenance staff here is TOP NOTCH!! Never, for the past 7 years that I’ve been living here have I had a serious issue in my apartment nor a problem with the crew! Everyone is super friendly always greeting the residents and getting the job done! They always come within a days time within me making a request to fix something in my home. Today we had Glen visit our apartment and he was great! Did the job in a snap of a finger and when I asked for a few more things to be worked on he did it without a problem and finished it in a snap of a finger! Maintenance here is super prompt. I got in from vacation and I put a service request in for a battery change for the smoke/CO2 alarm and in less than 10min Glen was able to service the issue promptly. He was very cordial and swift with what needed to be done with a very nice demeanor. However, Ive never had any bad experiences with maintenance while living here!

Living at Avalon Somerset is great. Everyone at the leasing office is fantastic, all of the maintenance technicians are fast and friendly and the fact that it’s dog friendly is a plus. My wife and I have been living here for 5 months with our Boston Terrier and it’s been an awesome experience so far.

This apartment complex may not have the bells and whistles like stainless steel appliances etc but the staff members at the community center are the real treasure. They always go above and beyond to make sure that residents are comfortable. They are very approachable and lovely to talk to. Our leasing consultant was Rey when we were looking for a place to live after moving from Maryland. He was very helpful and made the entire process go smoothly despite having to co-ordinate from out of state. Even after moving in, he remained helpful which showed that the show of help was not for the purpose of getting prospective residents to rent at the complex but it is an ingrained part of the type of satisfaction they aim to provide. Thank you guys, it has been a pleasure!

They know all of the residents (even though there are many) and you can tell they love what they do. The entire staff is great from Sergio, Courtney, Ray and many others. They take great care of anything that is needed regardless the time. For the past three years, we’ve seen our community grow and continue to stay up to date with making the environment hospitable and clean. The lounge area, the courtyard has provided a space to hang with friends and family. The pool is great for kids and when something needs to be fixed, Joe in maintenance shows up with a smile on his face. I would recommend Avalon Somerset to anyone that’s interested in peaceful, comfortable living.

The staff is incredible. They really try to understand your needs and they will help do anything they can to make it a great place to live.

It was fine when we lived there. The maintenance staff try their best and do a good job. Management however is terrible. During a pre-move out inspection they stated the apartment was in good condition and didn’t need anything beyond carpet cleaning. After I received a portion of my deposit and a letter claiming they needed to complete a custom paint job upward of $500 for one room. When I supplied documentation showing that wasn’t stated they said “It is what it is, move on” . Don’t waste your hard earned money here.

The team at Avalon goes above and beyond! They truly care about their residents and always deliver on what they promise. Sergios team is quick to address and solve any problems that may arise.

Arguable best Apartments to live in Somerset area in terms of Security, underground parking, cleanliness, Amazon Hub, Amenities & quality of service provided by Managerial staff. I very rarely write reviews but I had such an amazing experience working with Rachael Cicalese, the leasing agent who ended up leasing me my apartment. I was a very difficult client, I knew what I wanted and I was relentless about getting the right apartment for my needs. She was patient and kind throughout the entire process.However, after living here now I will say the staff is great! But the amenities need help! They are mistreated and poorly maintained. My car has been broken into, and there are some questionable characters that hang out here at night. Hoping things can turn around for this beautiful property!

The great things you about this place is that they’re extremely dog friendly, the staff are really friendly and the 3 maintenance guys are the best. They’ll do anything to fix a problem. That’s why it’s very difficult to write this review. When I signed the first lease 3 years ago it was nice but it has been getting progressively worse. Now, I feel like I’m living in a slum. The first thing that I must address is the stench. When I get off the elevator on the floor all I smell is raw sewage. They tell me that they’re working on it but it’s been over 2 months. People are moving out because of it. Since it started I’ve had a respiratory infection. The grounds are full of trash, there’s dog poop everywhere and the trash rooms where you put your bags of garbage down the shoot are filled with garbage. There are open bags of food, sandwiches just thrown into the room, old furniture, mattress’s etc.. Anything a person doesn’t want is just thrown into the trash room. It takes 2 seconds to throw the bag down the shoot but still people don’t do it. The front doors to the entrances are all rusted and often break or someone purposely breaks the hinges. When this happens the doors don’t close so anyone can get in. The doors must be fixed. They don’t have enough help so I can’t blame the maintenance team but management should hire more people. Most importantly, the smell of raw sewage is making me sick as well as many others on my floor. I would definetly discourage anyone from moving here at this time.

The leasing staff and maintenance are all great. The apartment buildings and communal grounds are well kept. The staff responds to maintenance requests promptly. The only issue is parking outside during the winter storm. Just be proactive with your shovel and be ready. Special thanks to Rey and maintenance staff.

I have lived at Avalon Somerset for about five years I am extremely satisfied with the maintenance team and how promptly my issues are addressed I am also satisfied with the staff they truly care about providing the upper most accommodations for their residence and I really would not want to live anywhere else it is a great place to raise children clean safe and quiet if you haven’t visited yet I suggest that you do you will not be disappointed

I just want to give a quick shoutout to Glen from maintenance! There was a issue with my water heater and he assured me that he will work on this issue as quick as he can and he did!

We have lived at Avalon Sonerset for 4 years.With each passing day we find something else that we appreciate about living here. Each apartment is equipped with an excellent personally controlled heating and cooling system. Which the maintainence staff keeps perfectly maintained. The maintainences staff responsive, curteous and professional. The convenience of having and washing machine and dryer in teh apartment makes life so muchneasier. I thoroughly enjoy not having to clean off my car in the winter because I park in the underground parking.Recently we have had some problems with missing packages the team was wonderful in helping us locate them. The office team is always friendly and helpful and amazingly seem to know people on site by both name and apartment number. The family atmosphere at the holiday parties and around the pool make this feel like one big extended family.

Put in a request for cleaning outside my front door, area was cleaned within 3 hours. Outstanding service.

We had some maintenance issues come up and Joe F. worked diligently to resolve them for us on short notice. Responds quickly, hard worker, and very friendly!

Everyone here is extremely rude and difficult to work with, worst things they built in this town. The staff is rude especially the groundskeeper Marty hes enough to make people leave on contact. Fix your staff and then maybe this will be an appealing place to live. Great pool though and amazing life guards!

Maintenance service has been fantastic, cant complain. Avalone did an excellent job keeping the environment clean as well. However, staff is not kind enough; they are quite moody and rude. Brad was a great asset, hopefully, a new staff is friendly enough.

In terms of management, they are always responsive on the maintenance requests. One of the staff, Ave Mathur, taught me with my dishwasher settings on a Sat afternoon. Today I put in a request about the bathtub clogged up. He came just a couple hours later.The walls are definitely thin. So, I dont think this place is suitable for someone who is very sensitive to noise.

Mixed feelings about AvalonPros:1. convenient location2. nice office staff-friendly3. lots of different apartment layouts to choose from4. convenient amazon lockersCons:1. a bit overpriced compared to some of the other luxury rentals in the area, but you pay for the brand2. maintenance of common areas need work- while grass and grounds are well landscaped, inside area is poorly maintained. broken door fixtures, stained walls. A piece of dog feces was smeared on the hallway floor for a whole weekend before it was cleaned up!3. trash rooms were FILTHY and people didnt throw things down in the chutes- signs and emails sent about residents being fined if caught breaking dumping rules, but never enforced and therefore, was dreadful to throw out any trash4. no enforcement of their quiet hours- I had the most horrendous neighbors for several months. There was literally stomping and screaming at all hours of the day/night. Management was of no help in trying to mediate the situation- they spoke to them once or twice but nothing ever changed until they moved out.and now worst of all---when you move out, they nickel and dime you and basically deduct their standard costs they insur when they turnover an apartment. I left the apartment spotless, carpets were clean (no shoes wearing apartment, had rugs everywhere, etc) and they basically charged me for a cleaning service and carpet clean. This has been said by a lot of the residents moving out- if you dont buy their 200 dollar move out cleaning service, regardless of whether you need it or not, they charge you more. BEWARE of this unethical practice.I would move into one of the other none franchised apartment complexes in Somerset if I had to do it again...

Friendly staff, amazing location and amenities... my family and I love it

I have lived here for 3 years. The apartment is beautiful, they certainly keep up with the outside as well. The staff however, has sadly gone downhill. HOWEVER, I am SO HAPPY to see that Courtney is back! She is fantastic! I loved Kimberly as well and sad that she left only a few months after me moving here. I see some bad reviews about Brad on here, but honestly.. he was always great and attentive in my opinion. Both of the ladies that are in the office are nice. The one man Ray- he is rude. He always seems to be working out in the gym- anytime I come to get a package. One day he was in the back room and told the cleaning lady that I need to come back in 1 hour to get my package. I explained that I had a live reptile in the package as a gift to my son and it was important for me to get to it. He huffed and puffed and came out with headphones in his ear and he quote on quote said You are interrupting my work out! I told her to have you come back, because I am on my LUNCH! He put down the box aggressively ( he didnt throw it though ) and he had me sign out my package. He very seldom greets me when I enter the office- I was so so so so sad to see Martha is it? Go. And then Brad- but I am so pleased to have Courtney back! Please keep her around! She knows what she is doing and she is always so nice to me and my son when he enter the office. Sergio is also very kind and professional, he carries himself well and represents Avalon the right way. I was worried because there was a lot of new hires, that didnt last long. But with Courtney back, I am sure things will go uphill. But as far as Ray, he is obnoxious and rude. Watch the cameras if you have them, and if the phone calls are recorded- please listen to all of his. My neighbors say the same thing, at first I thought maybe it was just me. He weighs the place down. EXTREMELY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. A live animal is less important than his workout? Why are you working out when nobody is there to cover the office? He was nice when he first began though, I must say. I actually remember him helping me to my car- with packages- that day, he went above and beyond assisting me to ensure that they all fit properly ( I had a lot of furniture pieces ) . But after that, he got more comfortable and more comfortable and customer service is anything but him

This review is for Reynolds Pinder. Ive had several issues with this staff member. He is confrontational, rude and impossible to work with. He doesnt listen, tends to interrupt when being spoken to about issues, raises his voice at customers, and at some point even put me on hold without even advising me that he was putting me on hold and transferring me to his supervisor. All that while raising his voice at me on the phone. Reynolds Pinder is not what you expect from Avalon reps.

Dont ever go to this community, once you move out these people make false charges for apartment cleaning to get the excuse on not to refund the security.These guys are proficient in doing fraud to eat the security deposit by photshop the picture.They will never send you the post inspection reportThe community office people are helpless they will not able to help you in case of your concern once you moved out and direct you to customer care.These guys planned the charges in that fashion so that you will not get the time to discuss and misguide you and buy time so that your due date to pay the charges get over.If by accidentaly you have taken this apartment, make sure the post inspection is done in front of you or other wise be ready to pay the doctored charges.

You can not call this place home. It is advertised as luxury apartments, but it is anything but luxury! Not even basic!At a first glance you will find the place is appealing, landscape is good, pool, gym,..etc but dont be fooled!What is the most important thing in a home? For me the ability to feel safe, sleep at night without disturbing.. You wont get that at Avalon. Here is why:1- The location is a bad choice, Easton Avenue is so noisy at night, the speed limit supposed to be 45 mph, but motorists do at least 65 mph, and with that level of noise coming from the engines, it is hard to fall asleep.2- This building is made out of flimsy materials, everything is so fragile, well... not an issue since the maintenance is on the landlord, till you find out that when your neighbors walk at night, you hear every single footstep of them because of the bad isolation!3- The materials of the building again.. This time google (Avalon Edgewater fire and also Avalon Maplewood fire) (try Images tab in google as well).. This place is a fire trap! 1 small spark and the building will be done in 5 minutes due to the poor construction materials it is made of.4- Every now and then the fire alarm will set off at midnight, latest time it happened was last night, the temperature was a single digit, but all the residents had to evacuate because you never know if it is true this time.. Imagine, waking up suddenly at midnight on the loud sound of the fire alarm, rushing with your wife, kids (and may be pets) to the street at a freezing temperature, while wearing a pajama and blankets! And not just 1 time, but every couple of months? Most of the times it is because a stupid maintenance issue that cause the alarm to trigger!! How can you call this home?My advice: save your money, it doesnt worth it, and buy or rent a home somewhere else.. That is my plan for the upcoming year anyways, I am saving a down payment and get out of there as soon as I can!

They make false claims about you. The manager Brad is a 100% manipulating idiot!... Fire alarms get pulled all the time by kids,,,, noise by landscapers at 7:00am on a Saturday..... Dog droppings everywhere,,,, The Managers do not enforce the clean-up .... HORRIBLE MANAGERS!!!!!
