Great resort...it is near the beach, within walking distance. Easy convenience store next door for any essential items. Well located.
Decent but not clean enough for the price. Sewage smell in the underground parking.Ants in my room. But very close to the Amazingly beautiful beach
The staff was wonderful and the architecture is pretty.Unfortunately, this is where my compliments end. After hundreds of nights in Mariott hotels, this is probably the worst. The layout is disorienting and the place is in a pretty bad state of disrepair. The elevator doors scream at you, stains cover the hallway carpets, and the ceiling tiles sag. In my room, the AC was loud and didnt work, the TP roll fell off the holder with hardly a touch, and worst of all, the bathroom sliding door has to be forced closed because it drags on the floor and does not even fit the frame. Pretty poor when I even have to pay for parking here.I will be spending the remainder of my stay in a cheaper, adjacent hotel which happens to include breakfast
I meant to write this review a while ago, but Veronica at the front desk has great customer service skills! I like having small conversations rather than a staff member just saying the same robotic check-in script so that is what stood out to me. Location is great as well, the beach and Barefoot Coffee Roasters is all you need! Haha. Thank you Veronica for your great customer service! The NA was also great and extremely helpful!
The employees here are kind, helpful & genuine. Pretesh & Jen & the entire staff go that extra mile for you. The hotel is within walking distance or a short drive to anything you may need or want. There are several beach access points nearby. We enjoy our time around the pool after a relaxing day at the beach.
Positive: There is a street behind the hotel that has some free overnight parking options. Be sure to read the signs for details. Also its a 5minute walk to the beach and very nice safe neighborhood Negative: Its dated. But they have made some uogrades.
Great location for walking to beach, Del Mar track, restaurants, etc. Nice pool, great service staff, we return every year.
Awesome base of operations. Leave the car and walk to nearby food, drinks, shopping, and surfing.
We are enjoying our stay here and front desk is awesome. Unfortunately is did not get the night shift girls name. She is Fabulous ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is actually kind of a neat Courtyard, with some extra seating areas and nice room sizes (I think we had an upgraded room). We had a courtyard view and heard no road traffic, which was nice! Our sheets were so scratchy and our bathroom smelled horrible, making the room smell bad at times. I believe the smell came from a filthy toilet. Upon bringing this up with the front desk I was asked to email the pictures that I took and asked how we would like compensation, to which I have yet to receive a response. Titanium members with countless Marriott night under our belt from all over the world (3 on this trip alone), and this rarely happens, but it was quite disappointing. When “extra measures” taken to assure cleanliness and safety are something that is posted throughout, and the toilet looks like this, it makes you wonder how clean the place can actually be.We also had a housekeeping member enter our room within two hours of check-in without knocking😐
Not very good for $300. Furniture was old, dog was barking at night and again in the morning. Some guy that hangs around the pool and in the evening smoking a pipe, with signs that it is a non-smoking hotel. He is creepy, and they are afraid to tell the guy to stop smoking.
Positive: This is a decent hotel. I had stayed here once before and it might have just been the room but it seemed a little subpar as far as cleanliness especially with covid going on. I love Marriott hotels and I would give this one another try. Great location. Negative: The sheets had some stains not exactly sure what but I was brought new sheets. The bathroom had some rust in the shower which wasnt a big deal. Not exactly what I expected from a Marriott hotel but I would try it out again. Very close to a nice dog beach
Decent place. We booked with points and were upgraded to a queen suite when I requested a single bed room. I am not sure why the room.prices were what they were this particular weekend ($300-350 per night) - the UCSD graduation or the US Open golf championship? Any way, its located right on 101. They have parking which is $15 per night. As compared to other Marriott locations in San Diego county, this is one of cheaper parking rates. They dont have complimentary breakfast but do have a cute looking bistro for all day dining. Our room was very pretty! Me and the bf had differing opinions regarding the color scheme of teal blue, gold and white. I liked it, he thought it was a bit over the top. The suite had lots of space. The bed was super comfy. A tiny patio which overlooks the bistro area. The bathroom had two sinks and a stand in shower and toilet. Water was pretty hot which is super important to me. Coffee in room, microwave and a mini fridge are present. You get to watch Netflix with your account, and also get access to HBO and showtime. The wifi was very poor. Netflix on the tv kept buffering, the wifi would not connect on my phone at all (invalid certificate) and we were watching a Livestream which was super slow and I think we missed some important parts. So overall cute place, could improve on some things. We visited fletchers cove park and it was within walking distance.
This hotel is much better to stay and the price higher than the one next door but is worth itClose to the beachThe rooms are spacious and cleanThe bed and pillows are very comfortableIn room microwave, mini fridge and coffee makerThe gym has water available to refill bottlesFast and easy check inOur room had carpet not hard wood floors
Great hotel! Too bad some things were closed but centrally located to beach, shopping, and restaurants! Great location and beautiful town...
Great experience at this hotel! Easy online booking and check in. Very pretty lobby. Theyre taking COVID-19 precautions seriously so I feel safe. The rooms are super clean and even have a seal that you break when you enter the room. Location is perfect! Prices are so reasonable for this gem. Loving this getaway!
Positive: Location Negative: Beds very squeaky and hard, internet did not work the entire time we were there and staff could not fix it.
Positive: Location, great staff. Easy walk to the beautiful beach and restaurants. Free WiFi is great! Negative: I suppose it’s a little dated, but mainly in a beachside way. Also much of the architecture in that area is essentially 70’s so it fits with the neighborhood.
Positive: Near the beach, complimentary to go bag breakfast and good coffee Negative: Don¿t pay for parking, just park in the street
Very disappointing. WiFi didnt work most of the stay; carpets were stained in all rooms and hallways; there were lots of bugs in one room; over-use of smelly cleaning products.
Kind of needs an update but you can’t beat the beach access. Added 20 minutes to my commute to a customer site but well worth it. Front desk staff are nice.
The gentleman who checked us in was very professional. He did a good job. Unfortunately I dont remember his name but we checked in late at night and he had just started his shift. He made us feel welcome. The room was a little outdated and needed some upgrades. We woke up with ants in our bed and some other bugs (non-food related). The room itself needed a deep clean. Hopefully, they have addressed this.
Great location, steps to the Beach. Liquor store across the alley provides plenty of Party Booze, as you get to know your upstairs guests; bringing their adventures back to their rooms, since bars are closed. Paper thin walls. No Gideon Bibles in every room.
Hotel is cute, and next to a great beach, but the walls are paper thin. If you get lucky enough not to have to share the hotel with toddlers and inconsiderate, loud families eating breakfast and playing music at 7 am, it wouldve great. But why risk wasting $200 a night on things that you cant control? I wish the employees were more strict with quiet hours. I am laying in bed with the door closed, and can hear entire loud conversations.
This Marriott Courtyard is a perfect place to stay. Its right on the Pacific Coast Highway, within walking distance to beaches, close to restaurants and shopping. The courtyard area is well maintained in a tropical setting with the pool and bistro in the midst. Parking is great and off the street. If youre a cyclist you have great options of going south toward Del Mar, Torrey Pines and other points south or go north toward Encinitas and other points north all with great vistas of the Pacific. If you want the challenge of hills you can always go inland. This location is close to the Del Mar fairgrounds and I-5 freeway.
I would not stay here again. The room wasnt as clean as it should be, the front staff was mediocre and I dont feel like the stay was worth the cost. I will say however, the bistro had decent food for breakfast at reasonable prices and each staff member in the bistro was friendly each morning.
Positive: Dont expect glamor from this modest hotel, all the room views face parking lots. The best thing about the Courtyard Marriott Del Mar/Solana Beach is its proximity to the beaches. These gorgeous beaches are just a 3-5 minute walk from the hotel. Negative: It was fairly clean, but the bathtubs just look old and slightly sandy. Personally, I overlooked this because beach living can take a toll on bath tubs, and its the time of the Corona virus, and that makes regular cleaning too risky.
This is by far the dirtiest most run down Marriott I have ever stayed in. Stay away you will be disgusted and disappointed if you stay there.
Great place to stay with wonderful eats very close by. My lady found some ants in the room which was a bummer however pleasant stay nonetheless
Thank you and your staff for a great stay!I travel a lot for work, and I had not stayed at a marriott since pre-covid.Check-in was fast, my status was recognized I was upgraded and granted late check out without having to ask. When I shared I would be paying by marriott gift card, I was informed politely the manager would process it tomorrow at check out.The room was spotless. Other than one broken outlet on the bedside lamp in 257 everything was great.Thank you for using high quality toilet paper. The room was quiet even with the well working hvac and fridge. The electric car chargers were also in working order. However the employee lockers are a little close and may cause issues in busier times. Also I appreciate your cantina being opened and well stocked.
Clean and quiet, but parking is not free
This hotel is just right. Its noy a huge property and the location is more than convenient. Solana Beach is great town and the hotel is almost smack dab in the middle. Its a short walk to the middle, the beach and several excellent restaurants.Easy in and out of the hotel to the freeway or south through Del Mar to UCSD. The staff is great and they take good care of this hotel. You cant go wrong!
Rooms were nice and clean. The hotel doesnt offer free breakfast, but they have a mini Starbucks on site with coffee and some food. There is an outdoor fireplace and some comfy sofas around it to enjoy at night. Also, a pool and hot tub. They have parking on-site but they charge for it. Id go back. It was a nice place. The rooms were spacious.
I was impressed with the hospitality style of customer service I received from the moment I walked on the property. The woman who checked me in was kind, friendly and helpful. When I checked in she accommodated my request for an upgrade as well as switched my room upon learning there were very loud people above my room. The new room she assigned me was wonderful. I felt listened to and respected throughout the entire process. The location is great - walking distance to the beach and great restaurants.
Positive: Great location in Solana Beach. Close to restaurants, walking paths and the beach.
Love the location and the updated rooms are very nice. The staff is friendly and always willing to help. The Thai restaurant next door is the best and the breakfast cafes have great food in a kick back atmosphere. And, you cannot beat walking the beaches. It’s our favorite spot to stay! My recommendation is to give it a try... you will not be disappointed.
Very nice place to stay. Large, comfortable rooms. Lovely outdoor courtyard with fireplace. Patio for morning coffee at the bistro. Nice pool and hot tub. Convenient to Del Mar Racetrack (can walk or take the free shuttle), the beach, and the Cedros Design Street.
It was a very enjoyable stay! My husband and I appreciated the polite and professional staff. Upon arrival, we were surprised and delighted to learn that we had been chosen as guest of the day and were offered a room upgrade and courtesy parking. The property is very well-kept and clean. Our room and bathroom were spacious and clean. We wouldnt have objected at all to a smaller space as long as everything was clean but having more room was a very nice treat. The sofa, bed, and pillows were very comfortable. Everything looked and smelled fresh and clean. The shower had great water pressure and the shower stall, thankfully, did not have a slow drain. Weve found that weak water pressure and slow drains can be issues even at hotels with higher price points. Overall, we would recommend this property and we hope to stay here again the next time we are in the area.
Average Marriott... great location, convenient and staff was fine. Just seems a little dated.
This Marriott location was wonderful. The location was close to many great restaurants and beaches. There was even a great little store right beside the hotel that offered amazing sandwiches and anything you would need for your stay. The staff was very helpful and made this an enjoyable experience. We had a large party with 4 guest rooms and we enjoyed the patio and pool area very much! It gave us the opportunity and space to visit together as a family! Thanks for a great stay!!!
3.5 stars. Clean room, nice pool area, not far from restaurants or beach. The pull out bed was very small, but fine for 1 young child. Bathtub was also especially slippery. Tried to use the spa in the morning, it was not warm after 45 minutes. Good place for a night or two.
Staff was great, went above and beyond to help retrieve a lost tou after we checked out. Location was great and easy to get too. We dined at the Thai restaurant next door which was excellent! Room was clean, decor updated. Had new TV that you can login to your own Hulu, Netflix and HBO Go accounts so you were back home (must remember to log out when you check out). Had a bar by pool to hang out and fireplace to mingle. Only complaint is walls are thin between floors and next to rooms. Could hear neighbors talking on phone, closing doors, and Staff cleaning/vacuuming upstairs in the morning. Other than that, great value for the price and awesome service!
The rooms feel open and roomy and the balcony has enough room for a balcony bbq and drinks. The pool is standard, clean, and has a bistro with good food.
Positive: It was OK. Nothing special Negative: Bed very uncomfortable. Rooms are dated. Some mold in shower
3 of us went down to go to Del Mar race track for a couple of days. We booked one room with two beds and a pullout. The room we received just two beds. Asked for a rollaway as there was plenty of room and we were happy to pay and the answer was absolutely no. Definitely did not make any sense. Just some rule with no customer service in mind. One friend ended up staying somewhere else and that kinda killed the whole idea of the trip. The hotel was nice enough. Spa at the pool is tiny.I would have given 4 stars, but I have an issue with rules that dont make sense and the lack of customer service to solve the problem, especially when it makes no business sense and we requested the correct accommodations from the start. Will probably choose a different hotel for our next trip to the area.
Great location, short walk to the beach. Nice little thai food restaurant next door.
Great rooms, great and incredibly helpful staff!I had a group in last week and everyone was so nice and accommodating. Also the pool seemed really nice, even though I didn’t have time to go.
My stay in the Courtyard Marriott in Solana Beach was excellent. Large spacious rooms filled with color. The rooms were clean and the bedding was perfect. The staff was always very helpful and courteous making my stay even better. The area is beautiful and you are only a few minute walk to the beach from the hotel. The restaurant service was good and they offered a nice variety of foods that were delicious. I highly recommend this hotel.
The manager Kathy was beyond amazing!!! Her customer service and kindness helped in the most needed of times. The rooms and beds are big and clean which is absolutely lovely!!!Thank you to Kathy and the staff at this wonderful hotel.
I decided on this hotel due to the location near the Del Mar Fairgrounds, as we attended a concert there. The hotel was in the perfect location. It was a quick uber ride away. The location of our room was great with a sliding glass door that was close to the food/bar area and not far from the pool, even though we didnt use it. Staff was great and I would definitely stay here again.
We recently stayed at this hotel July 8 through July 11. Weve been coming here for the last 19 years and have always had a great experience. The rooms are great and the hotel staff has always been super. This past trip we had to merge 2 reservations into one and both were a different room type. We worked with Myra (Im sure spelling is wrong) at the front desk and she couldnt have been more helpful. We were able to stay in our original room and not have to change rooms for the entire stay. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for her and we greatly appreciate it.I would always recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in this area. The staff really takes care of their guests and the property is great and always very clean.
This Courtyard is very close to a stretch of beach in Solana Beach that’s very expansive yet very few beach goers use it due to the location. I like this location specifically due to the fact that I can travel with my wife and kids and we can all walk, about one block from the Courtyard hotel, to this uncrowded little gem of a beach that offers something for all ages. I can go surfing and the rest of the family can sunbathe, play in the sand, wade in the surf or go for a walk in the beautiful sand.
Reasonably priced hotel with clean rooms and pleasant staff. We have stayed here over the years several times and are always treated well by the hotel staff. This time was different as my husband recently became an amputee. Hotel staff was very helpful during our stay to make sure we were comfortable.
Average hotel with no frill amenities at above average prices. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom was blah. No views. Shop around. I expect you can do better.
I say the Marriott in Solana Beach when I am there for work on occasion and also to see shows at the Belly up! You can walk to the venue and its better for me to stay overnight since I live in OC and dont want to drive after having a couple drinks. Close to everything. I request a room away from the main road since I am a light sleeper. Theres a nice little fireplace area outside and a cafe for light breakfast and coffee (if you need it fast and dont feel like walking to the coffee shops).
We have been visiting here in August for the last 5 years. Just got back from a 2 week stay. Love this place for its cleanliness and its convenience to the racetrack, beach and lots of good restaurants. I must compliment the hotel on its bedding. I slept like a baby. I came home to order the Marriott pillows but wasnt sure which ones to choose. Please tell me if its the down or the eco. Also, a couple of suggestions. We always get a safe at the front desk but feel its safer to have them in the rooms. Sometimes when you go to use it there are several people there and dont think its the safest method. In addition, a few of the front desk personnel werent sure of the procedure. Some made us sign and some did not. Also, one of the people were not the friendliest as in the past. Another suggestion is the hotel offering breakfast as so many hotels now do.Your response would be greatly appreciated and see you next year. Thanks for a great stay.
We only got to stay one night, but it was a great place to stay. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The bathroom had a double sink and a huge shower. We needed extra pillows and the front desk was quick to respond. We did not get to enjoy the pool but it was clean and a nice area. This property is close to the beach, 5 min walk north, 5 min walk off the back of property, only problem at this access is 150 steps down. I took the walk north and loved the beach area, no umbrellas or chairs to rent but it was nice.If you stay at this property you we will comfortable, have great staff, easy parking, and a wonderful stay.
This is a nice, clean hotel. My executive room was large with a High ceiling and balcony overlooking a small courtyard pool. Its right next to a small mini mall with a liquor store which is very convenient. Theres a pretty beach just 200 yards down the street. My girlfriend and I liked it. If we are in the area wed stay there again.
First when we checked in learned that we were the guest of the day! So cool to have your name on display! Then upon entering room we were even more pleased. We had a suite and it was spacious and clean. Since it was December we didn’t use the patio but it had two chairs and was a nice size. Everything looked new and updated and we had more that enough space. The bathroom was large and had ample space for my husband and I to both get ready and not be bumping into each other. You can talk a short walk to the beach which was awesome. Honestly probably one of the best hotels I have stayed in and we live in Las Vegas and stayed and many properties on the strip at home. With family living on Solana Beach now this hotel will be the only place we stay when we come out there. Thank you for the amazing accommodations for our first trip out there.
In February 2017 we found this hotel was clean, spacious, comfortable, conveniently located and reasonably priced. With the exception of the Bistro employees, all of the staff members were competent, quick to help, and a pleasure to deal with. We had two small problems in our room which the staff promptly and completely fixed. Front desk staff were efficient, informative and pleasant. Bistro staff were friendly but they consistently got orders wrong, didnt bring the food for a very long time, and made dining difficult. Bistro breakfasts were tasty once they finally arrived. We used the computer in the reception area to get our boarding passes without difficulty and enjoyed the citrus-flavored water and free newspapers in the lobby. The pool area was attractive and comfortable.
Wonderful room. We had the studio suite. It was quiet, beautiful, clean and very comfortable. The staff here is so kind and very helpful. Close walking distance to the beach and to eateries.
Easy walk to beach. Great location.
The rooms were clean and the staff was helpful. The bistro was great and had a nice sitting area inside and outside. The beach is close by, its a short walk if you dont mind a lot of stairs. There a few restaurants within walking distance. Just ask the front desk they were so helpful in giving directions and recommendations.
Location, Location, Location.. This is not your typical Courtyard, even the building is a little different having a tropical vibe with a center courtyard that has their bar. Its 2 blocks from the beach and walking distance to nice places to eat. Rooms are typical, maybe a little older but well worth a stay if you need to chill and relax.
Well located in affluent, but sleepy beach town. If you like to run, the beach is nearby, or you can use the walking / running path next to highway 1 and train track. It’s an older hotel, so construction is not like most courtyards. Walls are thin, but my neighbors (thankfully) went to bed by 11pm. Decent restaurants nearby, but mostly comfort food. I’d stay there again.
Location is ideal. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Easy access to the beach. Room was very clean and quiet. We would definitely recommend this hotel.
My wife and I have stayed at this Courtyard several times over the last five years. We love Solana Beach anyway. This hotel is walking distance to southern Solana Beach or Fletcher Cove. Our room was comfortable and clean and on the back of the property which made it quieter. The Bistros menu has been changed, and breakfast was terrific. There are some very good restaurants within walking distance or just a couple of miles. Freeway access is close so the rest of San Diego county is easily reached.
It was cold in February, but the executive suite was well kept. The doors to the pool were gorgeous and made for easy access to the restaurant. The restaurant could use some additional menu items as well as just better food in general. There is no late night delivery or ordering unless you want fast food, so beware. Other than that the updated hotel was nice, had everything you needed fridge and microwave, tiled showers, desk with wheels, comfy bed, cable and internet features through tv.
This is a beautiful hotel in the heart of Del Mar and Solana Beach, California surrounded by the ocean, wonderful restaurants and local shops, and of course, the wonderful Del Mar race track where the surf meets the turf. This hotel has gone through a major renovation and update and it is beautiful and wonderful. The rooms are fantastic, so airy, light, and open. Really nice accommodations and beds, great beds. The staff are awesome and excel at customer service! Warm, friendly, and so helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to this area.
Even in the midst of uncertain times, the hotel was fantastic! The staff was so awesome and helpful. Enjoyed our time!
Great hotel at a reasonable price. The staff were great and the breakfast food was delicious and reasonably priced. The hotel is a very short walk to the beach and the shops in town, as well as the train station if needed. My favorite hotel when staying in the area.
We booked our stay the night before based on a friends recommendation to visit Solano Beach. It was the best decision we made. The beach is within walking distance. The hotel was surprisingly accommodating and include amenities found at larger upscale resorts. Keep up the good work. See you next year, or sooner. ;)
Perfect place for a weekend getaway. Hotel has an amazing pool within walking and driving distance to great attractions like Delmar racetracks and the beach. Nice on-site restaurant for convenience of not having to leave the hotel for a quick bite or an evening dinner outside with the family. Lovely local restaurants and relaxing venue. Staff very kind and accommodable. Overall great weekend getaway
Very friendly and professional staff, very nice rooms. Food quality and customer appreciation during happy hour underwhelming. Over-priced drinks, even at happy hour - cmon - this is wine country!
Very friendly staff and clean rooms! Located in a great part of the San Diego area. The hotel is an easy walk or short drive to some fantastic restaurants. I recommend this location if you are looking for a place in Solana Beach or want to be close to La Jolla or the city without being in the heart of it all.
The location is pretty nice, it’s about a 7 min walk to the beach. There are 150 steps though, so if mobility is an issue this could pose a problem. The hotel is easy to find. Parking is $14 per day under the hotel and felt very secure and well lit. The staff was exceptional and we ran into nothing but friendly smiles and hellos daily. The pool was heated nicely, there was a comfortable spot outside in front of the fireplace to warm up at night. The little Starbucks/eatery is pleasant and the waits were very reasonable. Prices were expectedly high. Our room was comfortable and we loved having a balcony so we could try to dry stuff off. The room itself was very large, had a refrigerator and a microwave with plenty of space to store stuff. Also had a coffee maker. Our only issues included maintenance items which the general manager Greg assisted with appropriately. Overall it was a good stay.
Ideal vacation location. Close to the beach, resturants, freeway, and the Coaster rail station. Underground parking with elevators to the guest floors (2) makes moving luggage easy. The pool/hot tub and fireplace in the courtyard offers a nice place to get together for an evening cocktail or just a cup of coffee in the morning. Lite meals are also available in the pool side Bistro. Coin operated washer and dryers are located in a clean, first floor, laundry room.Staff is pleasent and accomidtaive.
My husband and I were in town for my nieces wedding. We wanted a Marriott property to earn points and found Courtyard San Diego Del Mar/Solana Beach. It was the perfect location, near the Del Mar racetrack and shops and beach. The hotel was noisy with groups of soccer kids and cross-fit athletes (though the pool was quiet midday) but then it was Memorial Day weekend! It looked to be a short walk to beach (though we didnt have time for that). I would recommend this property.
I stay at the Courtyard Solana Beach frequently. i can walk to my office from there, so its convenient for that. the hotel is going through a complete remodel, and its really a Beach/Cool look to all the rooms that are finished. The location is great. Once the city completes the beach access across the street (construction to replace aged/failing stairs) youll be able to cross the street, walk down some stairs and be on a beautiful beach. Solana Beach just redid the parking on 101, and the shops and restaurants are a few blocks away. The staff is remarkable. they always take care of me, greet me by name. Ask me about my travels, etc. Just fantastic customer service. Rates are reasonable, even during race season at Del Mar Racetrack, which is a short walk/drive away (half mile, maybe).
Nice, clean, well decorated, convenient location to the beaches. The hotel restaurant actually has good food. Little pricey though. I do wish there were some breakfast option included with the room. But thats my only gripe. Hotel staff is super friendly and courteous.
We are two senior couples that loved our stay in Solana Beach. The location is perfect for beach access and San Diego touring. Rooms are spacious and clean and the staff are very friendly and cooperative. Bistro on site with expresso bar and breakfast was an awesome addition. Walking distance to restaurants and deli/market was a big plus. We will definitely stay there again!

Ive stayed at this Courtyard twice now and have liked it both times. We had rooms on the back of the property. Quiet, comfortable, close to the elevator. The courtyard itself is inviting and the hotel staff is cheerful and helpful. The Bistro is a fine place to grab a cup of coffee. Be warned, the pastries we bought for breakfast were less than fresh. Cant speak for lunchtime offerings,as we were off to our convention.I would gladly stay here again.
Overall, great experience. We have stayed here before, but were pleasantly surprised at the newly renovated room. Great place for a quick weekend trip with the kids. Easy and convenient location to all that North County has to offer. Staff was friendly. Grounds were overall clean. Layout of room was simple & made sense, but provided enough room to not feel crowded for a family of four. I highly recommend this hotel. Great value.
The hotel was clean and very well managed. The staff who checked us I was very warm and welcoming. The only problem we had was that the bathroom door stuck and had to be jiggled in order to open it. Other than that, everything was great—room, location, layout of the hotel, etc. Definitely would stay here again.
The location and the hotel overall were good, room was quiet and comfortable (although we were there in October, I suspect in the peak months it is not quiet!). The carpets in the hallway and the couch in our room were stained and rather disgusting. And our room had the fake hardwood floor, which made it echo-ey and rather cold, as there were no throw rugs or anything to add softness or warmth. Also, strangely, there was only one tiny trash can in the whole room, which we had to keep moving to accommodate our needs. Really, we cant add a couple more trash cans? That was not okay.
This Marriott is bare bones as it gets. Im a frequent traveler and thought it would be interesting to get up to Solana beach on a business trip to San Diego. If youre looking for an out dated Courtyard with terrible amenities, youve found it. The walls were like paper, you can hear everything. The beds are rock hard and the bistro dingy.Im giving it a 3 only because the manager allowed me to check out late but even that was a struggle. Bad form Marriott - bad form. If youre looking for better hotels, head to Mission Valley. The Marriott there was 10x better for the same price
The rooms we good and clean. I would have liked more dresser space to unpack. We were on the first floor and that was great as the we could come and go to the pool and patio very conveniently. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The staff worked very hard as there were a log of soccer families and they always tried there best with a smile on there face.
This hotel was not real big and that made it better as we had great service, the staff was friendly and knew us! We used our points and it was very affordable especially the area we were in. The ocean was two blocks away and the area had many eaches and great places to eat. The hotel rooms were spacious, clean and decorated like being at the beach. The front desk staff were super friendly and helpful with all our questions. I recommend this hotel for the san diego area as not in the area of crowds. San Diego has great attractins and is relatively easy to get around. If you use your credit card and use the points this stay was reasonable.
While the location is great and the quality is as expected, the current and spreading use of additional fees is annoying. Increasingly at Courtyards, there is a parking fee, just like the resort fees that are charged at other Marriott properties. I expect fee people visit the property without a car. This is just a cost of the room.
This hotel is in such a great, chic area and even though the hotel is a bit older the atmosphere is fantastic. The staff is incredible and accommodated our group so nicely. The pool area and bistro are quaint and if you have a room that looks over the pool, theres such a unique feeling. Nothing seems rushed and this area feels very safe. Beaches are close, dog beach park nearby and great restaurants and shopping, too.

I travel every week and stay 100% at Marriott properties. I am in the middle of a two night stay at this property. Without a doubt this is one of the worse Marriott properties I have stayed at in my many years of travel. The front desk ladies are less than personable and even curt. Not flexible nor professionally dressed or acting. Nice property outside but my room (200) is outdated, dirty and unkept. Paper cups and glasses are not wrapped or sanitized. Bed linens are old and dingy. As a Titanium Elite member, I will avoid staying here in the future and will look for other Marriott properties in the local area.
Stayed at this hotel for a meeting. Very clean with renovated room. Bed was excellent, and the bedding was great as well. New room look, renovated with wall mounted TV, and cool sofa/furniture. Flooring was different, and something unique with no rugs but using a hardwood style vinyl. Although something I havent seen before, it matched the Beach feel of the ocean blue decor. Mostly appreciated the staff. Very friendly and helpful. Go out of your way to help and its the staff that will bring me back here again for business.

Attended an event here and it was beautiful and comfortable. Easy to find. 5 stars for sure.
My wife and I needed a short R&R get away. This Courtyard is the perfect place. Staff is amazing. Walking distance from the beach and many restaurants. But the hotel restaurant is good as well. Check it out for yourself.
Worst designed bathroom Ive ever seen in a hotel.
I wanted to stay in a hotel with my grandkids that was close to the beach, after we checked in, I didn’t use my car until we checked out. We were able to walk everywhere and my grandkids had a great time! The rooms very clean and comfortable and the hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating.
