I have a slow leak at the bottom of my Kenmore washing machine and called Sears repair to send out a technician. The guy that came to my house was not a Sears employee and was sent by a third party appliance service. He did not want to be bothered repairing the washer, but was instead more in in selling me a home warranty for $600.00. I told him for $600.00 I can purchase a new washing machine and will not turn over $600.00 to a company that may or may not be here in the near future. After this experience I understand why Sears is in trouble and I will never use them again.
Tried several times with several people to get a simple question and answer and get service, or not, just give me a straight answer, on my shaper motor. After being told sure, we can fix that, bring it on down. I follow the GPS to a center that was no longer in existence. I called to ask if I was on a wild goose chase and the person promised it existed. After a third call and having been told it doesnt exist, they sent me to another wrong pool place. After a couple hours and 45 total miles driven, turns out there is NO place that services my part. They tried to sell me a new one. Sold me the wrong part. Fortunately, I caught it the next day in an e-mail and canceled the order and requested a refund because they didnt have a new part available.Thorough incompetence, based mostly in the fact that most of the people with whom I spoke didnt speak conversational English enough to understand what the hell I even wanted, dont understand how to determine if a service center is still alive because they dont know how to use the resources in front of them and you never get the same path of communication twice in a row.Several years ago, Sears had a service center that fixed all the different things they sold. That apparently no longer exists. It started with my asking if the person I was chatting with on the website assuring me that they were a real person and that they could fix the piece I was very careful to describe. Then the solutions specialist was ok so I thought I was on track then the parts specialist didnt listen and didnt understand what I wanted/needed.In other words,... RIDICULOUS!!!
Pros..Fixed the icemaker and disposal ...in short order. Professional and politeConslong wait for parts. Over 3 weeks for a part.
Great atmosphere, good oysters, great service.
