Lived here two years. Ive built four homes and also lived in multiple townhomes, some described as luxury and without hesitation I can tell you Shelby Oaks is managed better than any. I would highly recommend for a family. I have three daughters and there is never any nonsense at the playground, basketball courts, workout facility, or at the pool. It is a peaceful place where you can work from home or study without distraction. Wanda, has taken care of any issue immediately. She takes pride in the property and makes sure its safe and clean. The leadership at Shelby Oaks makes this a five star, because I have lived at fancier places and payed twice the price and could not believe some of the things that occurred. I love the walking trail, half is paved and half is gravel. I run, so I can get three miles in, my daughter can walk/jog and then go play ball or swing and I can see her during my run. The pet area is also nice. Love Shelby Oaks!!!

Ive been living at Shelby Oaks for over two years. I wasnt sure what to expect after living in my own home for a long time and not living in an apartment since my college days. I think one of my biggest concerns was that it wouldnt feel like home. Even though its an apartment, it definitely has a community feel to it and thats something I value. All of the things that attracted us to choosing these apartments such as the pool, gym, cleanliness, laundry facility as well as laundry rooms in the units, well kept grounds, pet friendly, and the fact that the apartments were pretty new is why we chose them; however, the staff is what has made all the difference. It didnt take very long for the staff to start to feel like family. Its reassuring to live a place that you feel as though your thought of as family and thats how I feel treated here. Wanda goes above and beyond listening to tenants and their needs. Its obvious she takes pride in her job and Shelby Oaks. I always feel comfortable contacting her about any and all issues, and she makes sure its taken care of. Without a doubt, she has made the experience of living here a decision we are happy we made.

I’ve lived in Shelby Oak Apartments for almost a year and love it. They have a wonderful pet policy and great pricing for the area. Their management staff is wonderful. I actually live fairly close to Wanda, property manager, and she has ALWAYS made herself available to assist when needed. Obviously everyone deserves a day off but you can tell she takes pride in her job and works to better the community even when not “on the clock.” I recommend this complex to anyone new to the area or that works in the Louisville area but doesn’t have the desire to live in city. The community here is wonderful and looks out for one another, which I think is largely contributed by Wanda’s desire to maintain that small town, family vibe. So glad I picked this community when moving to Shelbyville. Thanks Wanda for all you do, and always going above and beyond what a typical property manager would.

I’ve lived in Shelby Oaks for about one year, and it feels like home. Small community that takes care of each other. Love the neighborhood watch team. The staff from maintenance, security to management go above and beyond to keep this apartment complex a five star. The manager, I call Wanda, Wanda, Wanda is adorable. She’s always on the property day/night. Wanda runs a tight ship. Responds quickly to any need or concern. i feel as if this one of the nicest facilities in the Shelbyville area. I would like to see it become a gated community, but regardless, I highly recommend these apartments. Great team-great staff-great apartments.

I moved to Shelby Oaks in Nov. 2019 and have really enjoyed it. The apartments are beautiful and I have met some of the nicest people here. One of the nicest people and most helpful has been the property manager Wanda Nelson. She has been so helpful and is the same every time you see her. I’m lucky and ended up living in the same building that she lives in so our paths cross frequently. Any issue, which have been few, is taken care of immediately. I would strongly recommend living here. I am planning on staying for a long time and consider it home.

Shelby Oaks has been a great place for us while we have been building our house!! Wanda has been AMAZING!! She goes above and beyond for all of the renters!! She even answered my late night phone calls and texts!! Its been a great experience for us!!!

I moved in Shelbyville Oaks back in 2018 into a 3 bedroom apartment. My family and I enjoyed our stay here until our move earlier this month. Wanda has always been extremely help and courteous to us for anything we need. We really haven’t had any issues during our stay. The location was great for proximity to work and traveling between Louisville-Frankfort. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for an apartment in this area, just give Wanda a call and she’ll take great care of your needs.

I moved here 14 months ago and absolutely love it! When I first contacted the property manager, Wanda Nelson, she did not have a 1st floor apartment or garage available, but did have something opening up. Within 30 days I had my apartment and garage and was moved. The apartment looked like new, but then again they paint after everyone moves out and carpets are shampooed and/or replaced. I am so thankful for people like Wanda who care about their residents and their needs.

My wife and I moved to Kentucky from out of state, and due to the pandemic, our plans to move into a house were changed. It was exceedingly difficult to find a house to purchase due to the unprecedented lack of inventory. We quickly found ourselves with a home that was sold and no place to move to. When I contacted the Shelby Oaks Apartments, Wanda and Gail were extremely helpful and understanding of our situation. We chose Shelby Oaks because of the location and pet friendly policy. We found our 3-bedroom apartment to be quiet and spacious. The mini dog park is more than adequate and a nice place to let your dog get some exercise and meet new friends. The gravel walking trail that wraps around the backside of the property is cut through a wood line and is maintained very well. We have been fortunate in that we found a house much faster than expected. Gail was helpful, understanding and excited for us even though we were giving our notice. We would recommend Shelby Oaks for anyone who is in need of temporary housing while building or looking as well as a nice place and location for those wishing to stay for a much longer time.

Just a wonderful apartment complex to live at. Both Gail and Wanda do a great job being managers at Shelby Oaks. The service is very good when ever I have had a question or a request about my apartment. Great value for the money. The club house, pool, and grounds are well taken care of. I would highly recommend living at Shelby Oaks!

Love everything about it here! My kiddos and I moved here from out of state and just 6 months later it feels like home. A community full of great people and families. Wanda and Gayle in the office are amazing and go above and beyond. Christopher and the maintenance staff keep everything running smoothly and the property is impeccable. My kids love the playground, basketball court and walking trail. We can’t wait to be at the pool this summer! Perfect place to call home.

So I have been a resident here for almost 2 years. I have lived in a lot of places. East Louisville at Shadow Ridge, a house in Valley Station and at a apartment complex in Oldham County. This place, Shelby Oaks, has been by far the best apartment living Ive ever had.Let me start off by saying my family owns several apartment buildings in louisville so Im very familiar with which they way they are supposed to run. This community is clean, quiet, and very friendly. I have a toddler so the playground is almost a nessesity. The gym and basketball court have helped keep me in shape. The apartment complex is located close to I-64 but you can barely here any of that. The apartments are generously spaced, at 1050 sq ft, its the size of a small house. One thing I would say is they can use some upgrading, as there is no granite, 90% carpet, and no stainless appliances.They are very pet friendly here, but are always on the lookout for the Dog Poop Bandit, there way of getting people to pick up after their dogs. But the real reason why this place is worth the 5 star rating is the Office Staff. Wanda, the apartment manager, is without a doubt the best manager of any place Ive lived in before. She is very fair, but has always helped me in every situation, has been understanding, and really made this place feel like a home, not an apartment. I just today put in a work order, and she is having maintenance respond to them SAME DAY!I would recommend this place to anyone. My neighbors have been great, the rent price is worth every penny. With everything that they provide, the amenities, service, and quality of living.To sum it up, this place is the bees knees, the cats meow, etc. Straight fabulous. Suave.

I love this place. The apartments are really nice, and the amenities are a bonus to have. Chris does a good job of maintaining the property. While, Wanda and Gayle go out of their way to make this place feel like home for everyone. I am so happy to call Shelby Oaks Apartments my home.

Wanda and Gayle have been so kind and accommodating to us for our year and a half that we have lived here. We are so thankful to have them to keep our community together and safe here in Shelby Oaks. Wanda is great!! She makes sure that everything is in working order and is a pleasure to work with. The apartments have very nice amenities and everything is well maintained inside and outside.

Very nice, clean updated apartment and management has always been very responsive to me - every issue I called in (for things not working in the apartment) they addressed quickly. I expected noise, after all, people are LIVING in the apartments, but I dont find it to be overly noisy. Nice facilities, I have used the laundry - it is very nice and kept clean. Very pet friendly - have pet stations with bags and trash bins, a walking trail around the apartment complex and a fenced in area for pets. Despite all of the things the apartment provides to clean up after their pets, PEOPLE THAT LIVE THERE THAT OWN PETS DONT PICK UP AFTER THEIR PETS. I highly recommend this complex when it comes to management and the quality of the apartments and the facilities. It is not managements fault that people do not treat the place they are living and the people around them with respect and do not follow the rules and guidelines they agreed to follow when they signed their lease.

My wife and I have lived at this location for a little over a year. We are looking forward to getting a house, but frankly Wanda and Gayle make the apartment hard to leave. They are outstanding employees who treat each and every one of their tenants with extraordinary respect. A+++ customer service all the way around.

This multi family facility requires a credit and background check as well as a certified check or money order for first month’s rent. With policies like this, one would think that a particular type of tenant would be filtered out. This is not the case. I have not had very good luck with neighbors, except one couple.But that’s not what REALLY blows about this place. The construction of this complex was not complex at all, rather very simple. Doors are installed poorly, insulation and weather stripping is pitiful, and there is no such thing as a sound barrier. It’s sad when you can hear your neighbor grunting on the toilet followed by a flush. Luckily, none of my neighbors “get lucky” or else that would be audible as well.A certain level of noise is expected in an apartment, however, being able to hear conversations and screaming children through your floor is not expected.Management at the apartment could also be better, but with this group of tenants, I cannot complain too much about them. The only negative thing about management is the snideness that they exude when you bring an issue to their attention. Otherwise, the issue gets resolved 50% of the time.Shelby Oaks could be a great place to live, but my experience was like Disney World, overpriced and ill satisfying.

Let me start by saying the ONLY reason I’m giving a star at all is because they said they would rush getting our security deposit back before 30 days and we got it back in less than a week. That is the only positive we experienced with this complex. We were set to move in. During our walk through, we noticed TONS of bugs on first glance and that was just the first issue. The cabinets in the bathrooms were stained with paint. And then we saw that the kitchen floor was covered in paint splatters. We called the office staff in and they told us they wouldn’t have it cleaned or replaced, and that there was nothing they could do. My wife is 35 weeks pregnant, our lease at our current apartment is up in less than a week, and now we have to scramble to find somewhere to live. I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPLEX!!! The model is amazing, but what they ask you to pay over $1000 a month for is completely unacceptable.

Apartment wasnt clean at move in. Doors all put on terrible. Hard to close, cold air rushing in from outside. First floor is terrible. Walls are paper thin. Couldnt sleep at night because I could hear every footstep above me. Closet in room freezing, air on constantly because it cant heat right. High winter bill. Not happy.

Aparments seem nice but the office staff is horrible. NO customer service. When I dropped off the certified funds for the deposit (which I had to leave work early to get) I was then told the first months rent had to be certified funds. (you couldnt tell me that when we talked about the deposit??!!??!!) Had an appointment for 4 pm to pick up the key, at 10 to 4 I got a call wanting to know where we were because the office closed at 5!! and she had places to be. At 4 we were rushed through the walk thru and paperwork. Will be paying the rent by night drop and hope we dont have to deal with them again.
