Reserved a Jeep from Barlow for 9:00 am. Received a phone call saying they overbooked for that time and if I could change my time?No problem, I could do that. They were very nice and apologized for the inconvenience.I was lucky enough to get the newest Jeep in the fleet, her name was Emily, loved the color.I liked that they have bead lock rims and they have the air pressure down to 20 psi to give a smoother ride, being a 2021 Jeep not much could be wrong. Was impressed with the options the Jeep had.If you are looking at doing some of the hiking trails, renting a Jeep is a good option, gets you to the good parts of the trails without walking as far. Still get in a good amount of hiking after you get to the end of some trails.Only negative I have is the trails were not technical enough, specially with a very capable vehicle. I would rent a Jeep again from Barlow in a heartbeat.
Mary and Zach really know what they are doing awesome service and Jeeps are loaded for adventures! Detailed info on trails and how to get to them. Definitely would do this again, highly recommend for those who want to explore sedona st their own pace or dont want to take their vehicle out on the trails. If you want the full experience definitely do 3 or more days!
Amazingly Fun! We booked two Jeeps from Barlow, and from the booking process, all the way through the return of the Jeeps; BARLOW was top notch all the way. Big shout out to MARY; she is a gem. She was so kind, patient, funny, and helpful that it really put us at ease. The customer service was superb and the communication thorough. (Before I came across Barlow my brother-in-law and I had been trying to book from another Jeep outfitter in town, and I wont stoop to use their name, but the owner refused to answer any emails, voicemails, or even the phone, not even a courtesy call back to let us know if they were open or what was the deal. So I am glad to have given our business to a company with REAL customer service...BARLOW)Needless to say our Jeeping was incredible, exciting, gorgeous, a little nerve wracking, and oh so much fun! We had small children and in-experienced off roaders, and everyone was smiling and had a great time. Lots of trails to choose from, from easy to technical, from smooth, red- dirt roads, to rigorous and bumpy tracks, and even some rock-crawling that will test your nerves. I felt like a boss cruising around in my monster Jeep with huge tires and a nice lift on it. They are more than capable, and extremely safe when driven with caution (4LO and SLOW.) Mine was brand new! (Becki) had only 1,500 miles on it...Still smelled new and everything, it was awesome! I was honestly a little sad when I had to return the Jeep the next morning haha!Bottom line is if you are considering renting a Jeep to do some exploring and off-roading while in Sedona; do yourself a big favor, and book it now through Barlow Jeep Rentals. Highly recommended. I am more than pleased with my experience and I would without a doubt book again next time we are in Sedona!!!
The way to see Sedona is in a Barlow Jeep! Zack is an amazing asset to this company. We showed up and he gave us more than an entire day of maps and instructions. It was effortless planning and his suggestions were amazing. The views on the trails are one of a kind. Best part, it wasnt crowded like every popular hiking trail. This experience is worth every penny.
This was my familys first experience with driving trails and I have to say ..ITS AMAZING AND YOU HAVE TO DO IT!! They give you great instructions and various trails to choose from. They are so kind and overall just happy people to help and answer all your questions. We did Diamondback trail, Soldiers pass(make sure you have a day pass so you can get thru the locked gate) and Broken arrow. We drove Maryann and she was a beast!! Such a climber! I kinda fell in love with her and told the guys when we dropped her off to take care of her for me and tell her everyday that I miss her. 😆😆
Great service! We went to learn more about off-roading with a jeep and were given detailed and helpful information. The employees really know what theyre doing and clearly try to give customers the best experience possible. The suggestions were fantastic and we were able to easily plan a great day. Would recommend!
A definite must if you are ever wanting to experience trails or a jeep. A must Even for the experienced jeepers. We are old school, manual jeepers and are experienced and this was an awesome experience since we had never driven a 4 dr, automatic, nor been on any AZ trails. Sophia managed beautifully and the trails were awesome. We were able to do 4 of the 5 trails in our 24hr rental.. The staff was awesome and informative for even us. We highly recommend if you have never been in a jeep or on any AZ trails do the Easy ones first to break you in. Will continue to rent from Barlow on are future returns!
Barlow Jeep rentals was awesome! We worked with zack for our reservation, who was very knowledgeable and got us on some of the best trails for the sights and views we wanted to see. The rental process was quick and easy and the Jeep was very well maintained. Not to mention a blast to drive out in the desert! Thank you Zack for the awesome experience our family will never forget!
Awesome staff with excellent vehicles. Our Jeep performed without a hitch on the challenging terrain. A great way to explore the back country while still challenging yourself.
A little pricey for a 3 day rental, but our Jeep Ethel was beast! Definitely ready to eat rocks. The only thing is the auto on/off and backup camera stopped working a few times because the Jeep said its battery was too low. We had so much fun on the trails and with only a 2 lift, its ready for everything Sedona has to throw at it. Although the Outlaw Trail street names were off, the other maps were helpful. Staff seemed very knowledgeable and passionate about their Jeeps & the local trails. They offered great advice for the trails. Staff was also very friendly & the Jeeps on the lot were all very clean. If I need to rent a Jeep next time I go to Sedona, Ill definitely stop by Barlow Jeep Rentals!
We rented a jeep for a day. Mary was great explaining what to do and not do. She took the time to make sure we were comfortable. She even gave us the names of places to go to see more ruins and an archeology museum. The process was simple and efficient to rent.Tip: Email your proof of full coverage insurance in advance.
If you get this jeep dirty be prepared to pay $50 for a cleaning fee…. Above and beyond the $400 to rent. And if you don’t agree with that you’ll end up on their DO NOT RENT list. We never got instructions about their “NO MUD” policy. And if we did we wouldn’t have rented. Also- Not sure who 4x4’s in a jeep, on trails that you were given directions to from the owner, without getting in a little mud. We were accused of speeding on the trails based on the mud splash pattern... Ok Barlow Jeep CSI. Ridiculous. Seriously baaad customer service.
Super helpful and explain it all. Really the only place I trust before I take my Jeep out on the trails
After hiking 6 plus miles with a family of 5, we decided to bite the bullet and rent a jeep and boy we do not regret it! Barlow Jeep Rentals did a fantastic job from start to finish! All employees were very professional and their jeeps were well suited for the trails. Very detailed information about the trails and the operation of the Jeep were given prior to taking off. We wouldnt have been able to see the things we saw in Sedona without the Jeep. We highly recommend this place!
They are great! the jeeps are awesome, so much better than a tour. Here you get to drive the jeep and do your own tour. Great people, will definitely rent from them next time I am in Arizona!
Mary at Barlow in Sedona rocks! I greatly appreciate you! I booked the wrong day you made it happen anyway! I have rented from them for close to ten years... never disappointed. Mary....Great tip to get away from crowds. Thanks so much!
Had an amazing time at Barlow adventures! Car was shockingly clean for the desert and worked perfectly through every trail. Chris’ customer service was top notch and the detailed instructions they gave were more than enough to find all the trails and obstacles. Fantastic addition to your trip. We will see you again in Moab!
My family rented jeeps from Barlow Jeep Rentals today. We had children (ages 7 to 14) and my parents (in their 70s) among our group split between 3 jeeps. During the check-in process, Mary got a feel what trails we were thinking and gave us excellent advice and very detailed maps that assisted us greatly. We did the Honanki Ruins, Outlaw Trail, and Soldier Pass (we had secured passes before the trip). It was an excellent itinerary that kept us busy from about 9:30am until 4:30pm.The jeeps were all 2021 Wrangler Rubicon 4-door hardtops. They were FULLY loaded (were talking heated steering wheels, heated seats, satellite radio, etc.). The jeeps were in excellent condition and had obviously been cleaned thoroughly before we arrived. They performed flawlessly - they are truly amazing machines!I would highly recommend Barlow. They were professional, gave great advice on trails (and which order to to do them), and the jeeps were newer, clean, and mechanically sound.
Excellent and super friendly service. As a lifetime Jeeper, I was happy to see that the Barlow Jeeps are modified to make the most of the Rubicon editions capabilities.I would suggest Barlow to anyone!
Great company, knows there stuff and treats the customers right. They provide great jeeps to enjoy all Sedona has to offer and back it up with incredible service such as a bag of ice in the cooler each day, Maps and guides for your driving ability and adventure appetite, and a staff to help you along the way. We rented for 3 days and could not be more impressed.
Great service! The jeep we were given was new, clean, and well taken care of. The free ice chest with full ice was super helpful!
Barlow’s is 100%. Super Knowledgable Solid outfit. Top of the line vehicles with just the right mods for the terrain. I was able to get the newest JL with the hybrid 2.0 liter turbo. Performance was flawless and impressive burning only 5 gallons of gas in day of trail riding.Spent quality time with Nena, the owner discussing all that her company has to offer and her contributions to the community and environment are endless.Already planning a trip back and cannot wait to go!!
This was my first time riding trails. New Jeeps, and loaded with options. Zach gave me maps and how to get to the trails. If you’re not sure, just do it. You will have the time of your life. I was able to ride Soldiers pass (get a permit) Outlook, Diamondback, Broken Arrow, Boynto Creek and then watch the stars at the Mesa Loop.
Fantastic experience! We started out our trip with a Jeep rental from Barlow. Staff was friendly and very knowledgeable of the equipment and trails. A cooler with ice was provided and satellite radio was a great feature included. I definitely recommend the broken arrow trail. If you havent done any off roading before, try another trail first just to get the hang of the vehicle. They are very capable but it can be a bit intimidating at first.
Initially I thought was expensive to rent a 4x4 for 24 hours. Never been off roading or really driven a 4X4 so wasnt overly excited about it. Picked ours up from Mary and thought she knows a lot about the trails and shared a lot of information that I thought was going over my head but and ready to get out on the trails. She did a great job prepping us. Told us the best advice of the day...dont worry...the Rubicon can handle it. When we hit Diamondback Gulch...I got what she was saying. With her advice we knew it could handle it and we had the best time going over rocks(boulders) and rough terrain. Our 7, 12 and 14 year old had the best time. And my wife loved driving it too. Dont question Mary...she knows what shes talking about. Cant wait to do it again.
Rented a 2018 Rubicon Unlimited in July of 2018 for 24 hours. The Jeep was awesome! Barlows was great at providing us with awesome detailed trail maps for our adventure! We did Broken Arrow, Cliffhanger, Devils Bridge, and Diamondback Gulch. The Jeep tackled all the trails without breaking a sweat! Would highly recommend this over a Jeep Tour any day. For less than the cost of a Jeep Tour for 4, you can get a 24 hour rental! They also offer half day rentals for those interested.
Renting a Jeep was the best part of our entire vacation to Sedona. We were able to see everything we wanted and more, we could stop whenever, explore wherever - the only problem was 24 hours was not enough time :) Zach was also extremely helpful/knowledgeable, thorough, down to Earth and just a really awsome guy!
The people were really friendly and helpful, and the vehicle was perfect for off-road use!
1 star for rudeness of the lady at the front desk. 5 stars for good Jeeps. That averages out to 3 stars.
Friendly staff that will go above and beyond to deliver excellent customer service! We were running behind schedule and were not at all prepared for the heavy bumper-to-bumper traffic, and they were more than willing to work something out with us. I was very satisfied with our experience, plus, my husband got to go off-roading for the first time. His happiness was worth it!
After our last visit to Sedona, Barlow Jeep Rentals seem to be single handedly keeping the areas customer service levels afloat. Yes, they rent Jeeps. But they primarily love, live, eat, sleep and breathe off road. Owner, Nina Barlow, is one of those people who will do anything to help you - a massive asset during our time in Sedona. Always cheery, welcoming and a good laugh too. Thanks Nina!
Phenomenal experience!I was blown away by everything. The customer service was exceptional. Mary gave us dynamite advice for trails and camping that helped forge an incredible adventure. The jeep itself was clean and orderly (but a little less so by the time we came back!). Paper maps honestly made the trip feel more exciting and adventurous!Bonus points because I originally booked on the wrong day during a holiday weekend. Somehow they managed to shift us around to the correct day. I would do this again in a heartbeat.Edit: I did do it again! It was every bit as good as I remember it the first time! Anyone looking at jeep tours should consider renting, and anyone renting should definitely check out what Barlow has to offer! Cheers!
If you have time, you have to rent a Jeep from these guys. We had Daisy and she was wonderdul on all the terrain we ran into. First time doing this, so we had no trail experience doing this. The peeps at Barlow were extremely friendly and helpful. They had maps for all the trails and their recommendationsand advice were spot on. Explained everythimg we needed to do, what to watch for and how to let the Jeep do her thing. We hit both Outlaw Trail and Schnebly Hill the day we had it. First was a breeze while the second was an adventure for sure. Pictures are ours and show what we saw, our Jeep and the wonderful scenes we saw.
Great sales guy. Good rentals
I had to cancel a rental and they were the most helpful people I have dealt with a very long time.Thank you Barlow Jeep rental!!
Used this company on multiple occasions. Very knowledgeable about the off-road trails. New 2020 jeeps.
Mary and the team are awesome! Their jeeps are top notch. We highly recommend using them.
Absolutely the way to see Sedona! Having over a Wrangler before, this really scratched an itch to get back out in the trails. The staff was amazing, their process to get to going was thorough, and the brand new JL (Named after our favorite dothraki queen daenerys) was incredible! If you have any calling for adventure in you, dont let it be filled by riding in the back while someone else drives. Get out there and try for yourself!
This is my favorite part of coming to Sedona, getting out on the mountain trails. Barlow staff are extremely friendly, welcoming and ultra helpful to guide newbies hitting the trails for the first time. Even if youre out on the trail, they invite you to give them a call if you have questions. Jeeps are always the newest and best. Mary is a delight to work with. Dont miss this when you come to Sedona!
Mary was great! Explained how to best use the Jeep, and great recommendation on trails to take. The Wranglers are all like new and clean, my Android auto worked great for maps on the trail. We had so much fun for hours, definitely would recommend and do again.
I’d give this place 6 stars if I could. First, booking is super easy and their staff is very communicative. I really appreciated their willingness to be flexible if the weather turned (we ended up having a great day despite a bit of rain, which just made for more stunning photos). Second, appreciate them taking all the proper covid protections, which a few places in Sedona do not. Third, their Jeeps are tanks! Beautiful, top of the line vehicles that easily get through the toughest Sedona trails. Finally, they are pet friendly and let you take your dogs on your adventure. These guys are worth every penny!
Great service, clean cars
Super friendly, very informative, very easy booking and getting going. Theyll provide detailed maps and tell you where to go and not to go based on experience. You see Sedona from a very different and better perspective. Driving yourself instead of a tour guide, much better and more freedom!
Jeep was brand new and very clean, well when we first got it! Being a rental I expected very amateur easy trails but they sent us to some pretty extreme stuff! We climbed up a rock at an angle where I could not see over the wheel or hood! Very cool.
We rented Talia for 24hrs; she is an amazing Rubicon that made the trails almost drive themselves.
They have wonderful service, and they are taking covid precautions. If you are going to rent a jeep come here.
The owner Nina is very rude. Would not recommend
Amazing Jeep rental, super friendly and helpful. Way cheaper than an ATV, comes fully loaded, free ice chest and ice, etc . Definitely going back!
We had a reservation for a jeep and were involved in a car accident on the way up to Sedona. They graciously made an exception to the policy and promptly refunded our deposit and were very pleasant to deal with. Next time in the area we will definitely be renting from them.
Just finished a 3 day trip on the Rubicon Trail in California sponsored by Barlow Jeep. Let me say anything put on by Nina is first class! Her hosts and trail guide was Nick and Jenifer. They went above and beyond there duties to provide a memorable trip. Nick know the trail like the back of his hand. I recommend them for any excursion that they put together.
This is our 4th year. They are awesome in every way. I will keep coming back. They have the best jeeps, best trail information, and best customer service. They truly rock in every way. Don’t dare take a pink Jeep if you can drive a Jeep. Just saying. Barlow rocks!!!
Great place for Jeep rental. Great Jeeps and knowledgeable and friendly staff. Gave us maps with great off road drives, and made sure we were comfortable with the Jeeps operation.
Great knowledgeable guys. The Jeep was fantastic!
ZOMBIE CRAWLERS JEEP CLUB (Tm) got to visit the area, we needed to get into some well equipped Jeeps to do some wheeling out here.. we got to experience a good variety of trails over the course of several days.. omg what a delight, flying out here and then being able to get into the rental jeep was amazing. We even did a little night trail action,, and saw the stars with very little light pollution... AMAZING thnx to the super helpful and friendly staff for hooking us up! We intend to return !Check out our official Jeep Club, Facebook is our most active platform but we have the website and all those other goodies too.
Chris was very knowledgeable and helpful, their prices are very fair and they give military/veterans discounts, Chris gave us detailed maps and advice, I highly recommend then instead of paying three times the money for a side by side..... Renting a Jeep from Barlow is definitely the way to go
Took a jeep class. Weve owned our jeep for a few years and done many easy and moderate jeep trails, but Pete taught us a lot. It was extremely useful. Time and money well spent.
Asked the woman not to give us the Purple Jeep for very personal reasons. She made no effort to make this happen. At 4 years old I was nearly killed by a drunk driver. I was hit, ran over and dragged by a Purple Wrangler. You would assume someone would have general decency and kindness in their heart to be human and help customers in such a simple fashion. There are currently about 5 other Jeeps sitting outside (blue, red, yellow, silver...)Our reservation was for 10 am. We were ready to be on the road around 11. By 11:20 A.M. she had already booked our Purple Jeep out to a walk-in customer. She told us we had to wait until 3:30 PM for another Jeep to come in.When I went in to ask why ours was booked out so easily, but they couldn’t switch the woman stated it was because she did “not want to do the paperwork to switch the other reservations that would follow ours” because that was “about 6 reservations” she would have to change in the computer. She blatantly said she did not want to do the paperwork to accommodate a customer with a very serious emotional request but would do paperwork for any other reason. When I went back in the store after watching our reserved Jeep drive away, the woman immediately approached me with her resolution to refund money and not accommodate any assistance to me.The associate never spoke to us in the 20 minute gap to state that out Jeep was being booked out to another person and never gave us another confirmed reservation other than to come back in 5.5 hours at 3:30 PM.For someone who claims their scheduling is so tight, I’m shocked they booked out a Jeep an hour after it’s tight booking schedule as well as didn’t give us a return confirmed rental for that afternoon. This place is an absolute disgrace. Avoid here at any costs because they seem to just throw out reservations at their own free will and picking and choosing. Poor business and customer service skills.
Great owner she was very knowledgeable on telling us all the fun stuff to do, best cheap rental of my life
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed doing business with Mary at Barlow Jeep Rentals. There were no hidden costs; the price is what they advertise. We rented Coco, a two-door Wrangler. It was clean and well-maintained. Mary provided us with maps, tips and advice, and an ice cooler to make our trip easy and enjoyable. If were in the area again, we will absolutely rent from Barlow.
We had a great time. They were very friendly and helpful.
The staff is so friendly and helpful! They know the area, and genuinely care about you have a great time! Definitely recommend them!
A bit on the pricey side but totally worth it! The jeeps they had were all rubicons and very well maintained! Very courteous staff, the guy took the time to explain the trails around sedona and also showed pictures of what can be expected on each trails and how long each one would take. That helped me plan my day and get the best of that rental. Will definitely recommend this place to off road enthusiasts.
We were camping at the RV park without an extra vehicle and they happily picked us up and dropped us off. They were prompt and friendly. We had two dogs and wanted to hike some dog friendly trails too. They gave us great maps of all the places we could have fun with the Jeep and the dogs. Full day rental was great because we basically got it for 24hrs. They put blankets down for the dogs and gave us an cooler full of ice. The maps are very good and well explained. The only thing they dont show is details on any trail you may want to hike. It does however show the trail head locations. Great experience!
Great visit to the Sedona, AZ lands. The local trail maps and personal experience of Pete @ Barlow made our experience unforgettable. We brought our own drinks & lunch for along the trail stops, and the cooler & ice was greatly appreciated.Pros: Jeep was great, the maps will walk the driver through the courses. the staff was friendly.Cons: Having Jeep back by 6pm as a little early, as there was still plenty of light for driving and the rental was for full day. Need straps to hold cooler in Jeep.Overall: GREAT, will do it again!!
Amazing experience! Everyone working here was extremely nice. They also gave us detailed maps about the trails so that was great. Jeep was amazing and the trails are hard enough to where itll make you think about your life but easy enough to where you wont die.
Love me some Barlow Jeep Rentals! Even though I have my own jeep I always stop in to see Nena and her crew to talk about trail conditions and jeep life in general. Keep doing what you guys are doing, your killing it!!
Great people and have great jeeps to rent. friendly staff pointed out some great trails for the the time i had.
Thanks Barlow for an awesome Jeep adventure. I rented a 4DR hardtop for 3 days at a great price (they offer discounts for extended rentals). It was in spectacular condition and I had a blast taking it on trails all around Sedona. When you rent, make sure to ask for trail guides and maps. There are trails that are more difficult; I dont recommend trying those first (obviously).
Renting a Jeep is easily the best way to experience the surrounding Sedona area, and Barlow does it right. Traffic in town to and from trails can be rough though, so the 4 hour rental isnt enough time for more than 1 trail. If thats all the time you have, hit Broken Arrow. A self guided tour in one of Barlows well equipped Jeeps is far better than the guided tours such as Pink Jeep. And if you have more than a couple people, its cheaper also.
I decided to rent 2 jeeps while staying in Sedona AZ. I called the last minute and they where very accommodating. We showed up a half hour early and once again they were very accommodating. They explained everything about the rental and about the trails that we are allowed to go on I have to say one of the best experiences that Ive had on any vacation. Well worth the money and would definitely do it again
If you have never driven a Jeep or did any 4x4 driving or thinking about buying one. This is the place to go to have a blast testing one and seeing some of the most beautiful views in the world. The staff is very professional and the Jeeps are top notch. We had a 4 Door Rubicon soft top very clean. They give you an orientation of the vehicle and they also give you a cooler of ice. Simply the best way to tour Sedona.
My wife and I Had the opportunity to rent a JL Rubicon while in Sedona and well, it was a no brainer as well as a great break from the terrible Hyundai enterprise rental! We were given everything needed to have a great time during our 24 hour rental. Trail maps, sights to see and proper use of the vehicle were just a few things. This is by far the best way to see Sedona. So with that being said If you want a professional, knowledgeable and welcoming experience I highly recommend Barlow Jeep rentals.
This place was awesome! If you take a pink Jeep tour in town you will pay $120 per head for a 2-hour tour. We rented a Jeep for four people that cost us $395 and we got it for 24 hours. They gave us maps and told us what trails we could go on. We off-roaded all day and we even hit a trail the next morning. We had total freedom while we watch the people in the pink Jeep tours freezing their butts off in the back of those Jeeps while it snowed on them.
So glad we rented our own Jeep rather than taking a guided tour. The Jeep was in excellent condition and super fun to get to drive. The staff at Barlows devoted time to us to make understanding which trails offered which qualities and how to navigate them, this was so helpful. The cost for a 24 hour rental was the same price as 3 adults taking 1 2 hr tour with Pink Jeep. We were able to do several of the trails, stop for lunch when we wanted to, and got to drive the Jeep ourselves. Amazing experience.
This was the most amazing experience ever! My wife and I did a half day tour and got up Two trails and a short hike to the devils bridge and it was a perfect day. Highly recommended!!!
Incredibly helpful staff. We stopped in for some trail suggestions and walked out with maps, suggestions, and excitement! Check these guys out for a rental or a good chat. Thanks a bunch everyone!
What a great experience!! I highly recommend for anyone with a few hours and a sense of adventure! Great rigs and friendly, knowledgable staff. Fun for the entire family.
