During the two years I was homeless I was blessed enough to find the Church of Mary Magdalene. Everyone was so nice to me. On Saturdays church and community groups fed us a wonderful breakfast and lunch. It was always better than anything you could get at a shelter. One thing I liked was that many groups would bring fresh milk. This might seem trivial, but at most shelters you could only get powdered milk or milk that expired two days ago. That little bit of kindness meant so much to me. The worship service was inspiring. We had an hour of singing and then the actual church service. I really liked the peppy, upbeat music. When youre homeless its easy to start felling powerless about yourself and your situation. But having a support network in your life can help you break out of that. Church of Mary Magdalene was part of that for me. I now have housing, the mental health problems the lead to my homelessness are under control, and Im planning to go back to college soon to finish my degree. Church of Mary Magdalene: youre wonderful!!
