My indoor reprieve for fitness. Love the boutique feeling and staff. I live half a block from here too which makes getting into the gym much easier.
Great gym. Mix of modern and classic equipment. Very clean. Friendly staff. And the members are all friendly as well. Took advantage of their 3 months for $99 summer special.
Great gym! Plenty of equipment, very safe. Hours are convenient. It does get a little warm which is a negative for some.
Love this gym and will miss it. A member here for the last 2-3 years, moved out to Ballard so the commute is longer now. Its got an old school charm. If you care about improving your health and achieving your fitness goals without any extra frills, come here. The community is accepting and very friendly. Sure its old, but I appreciate that its been around for almost 40 years. Its a very blue collar place that motivates you to work your hardest. Thats all you need.
In comparison with other gyms I used to go to, this is by far my favorite because of their staff every time I do my workout. You are so helpful and you correct your shape and posture if you see that you do not do the right thing! The best fitness center in the city!
I am currently using classpass for my workouts and signed up for the Cardio&Sculpt class here taught by Vicki and was blown away by the quality of the class. She was friendly, welcoming, and clear with her demonstrations and I was pleasantly surprised. I did not know what to expect going into this class, and having not worked out for a while, I was tired out 20 minutes in. Thankfully, you can go at your own pace during some parts and adjust to your own level of comfot. My body was sore for a few days, but I know that I burned a lot of calories with this full body workout. I will definitely be back to support.
Friendly staff. They have almost all equipments a beginner/medium level bodybuilder may need.
Love thIs gym. Great variety of equipment.
Really like that this gym lets you go without a mask when youre vaccinated. You just sign in and youre good to go, its great!
If youre considering choosing this as your gym of choice, think twice.Let me break out my review in two sections:1. Facility & equipment: The staff does a fair job keeping this place clean. Although equipment are mostly old, theyre well maintained and you should be able to find most things you need for your workout. There are areas dedicated for stretching, etc. which is also nice. Only problem is with people just spending hours on same equipment and the staff not doing anything about it despite complaints. Even worse, some of those culprits are trainers or staff members. Go figure.2. Management: Biggest reason Im giving this sketchy business 1-star. Sure, most gyms are sketchy with shady cancellation practice but this gym takes it to the next level. First of all, check out their website. Do you see an e-mail address listed there? No, they use a generic submit form tool which doesnt even send you a copy. What does this mean? When you request something, like cancellation request, you have no documented proof (outside of taking screenshot, I suppose) and theyll play dumb and say theyve never received cancellation request. You call for the same, theyll hang up on you. I didnt expect amazing customer service but this was the worst Ive ever seen.If youre near the area, and I cant believe Im saying this, but I recommend that you check out Planet Fitness instead. I know, I know. But its still miles better than this place and youll thank me for it.
This is a great Gym. They have a good assortment of equipment, several diffrent rooms to work in, and a Peleton studio. Friendly staff and live stream classes if you want to go virtual.
Its a pretty good gym. The staff are friendly and helpful. However Its a good idea to not give them a credit card number for the monthly billing. They just keep on charging to the card even after you give the proper notice of cancellation. I gave notice at the end of Nov., 2019, and was paid up through Dec. 2019. They sent a nice email saying Your cancellation request form has been submitted! Also a nice following line saying if there was any problem Id be contacted. There was no contact, so I figured the membership was concluded as per their requirement. Then on Jan 15, 2020, they charged $125.88 to my card.Well this could either be stealing, or just incompetence in their bookkeeping. Its not been an uncommon experience with past gym club members.Best to just write em a check every month.
Reliable, friendly staff and you NEVER have to wait for machines. Clean, great gym.
I live here now between the hours of 6-8am. That’s how much I appreciate this place.
I mean it when I say EVERYONE is so helpful and nice. They encourage you and want you to have the correct form to maximize your workout. Even the front desk people are friendly and smile when you walk in.
The gym itself is well stocked and has decent pricing if you can get in on their specials. But the billing policy is a bit sketchy, especially their 30 day cancellation. If you want to cancel your membership even a day after youve been billed, youll get billed for the following month as well. You will also get charged a yearly maintenance fee, which makes you wonder what the monthly fee youre already paying is for.
Stopped by while on Vacation, and the gym overall was not to bad. However, the staff was a little on the rude side. All be it I get you don’t go to the gym to deal with people, but just figured if you work there you should try to be a little bit more friendlier. Love the equipment though.
I have been going here for over 2 years since its a quick 5 min walk from where I live. Affordable membership and its a nice neighborly, unpretentious gym. I usually go for the group classes, which are varied enough with a mix of strength-training, high-intensity, yoga, spin, dance fitness, etc. Also has good variety of equipment and spaces to do your own thing.
Nice place. Nice staff. Clean. There are both machines and free weights. Most things you need to get a great work out are available here. There is no pool, but there is a sauna, showers, punching bags, and a gym thay is available on the weekends when there are not classes occupying it. It is Not usually packed, sometimes only a few people there. We got in at $60 per month for the main membership and $25 for an additional.
I shouldnt have a say because I get a free membership via my workplace, but this gym is very very nice and comfortable and my only issue is the curly haired guy who turns the treadmill to the highest setting for like 10 second intervals and then stops and makes weird noises. Classes outside of 9-5 hours would be nice. Also I love the rowing machine with water inside that whoooooshes when you use it
I love this gym! It’s not like those impersonal, intimidating gyms - you know the type, where you walk in and think “oh my god, I hope no one looks at me. Why is it so echoey in here? Etc, etc”. It’s got a homey feel with lots of work out options and nice, clean bathrooms with amenities. Great location and their prices are very competitive. Really enjoyed the workout classes!
With the closing of the Laurelhurst location in June, I was promised a refund for the remainder of the year. I have yet to receive a refund or to hear back even after multiple emails and an official cancellation request. Im very disappointed in the lack of customer service/response after being a member on and off for many years. I wrote off the frequent delays in repairing equipment, etc. over the years as the price to be paid for an affordable gym. No more. Buyer beware.
Cute (not your typical adjective for a gym, but this space is definitely eclectic!) little gym in QA! Basic equipment and offers a variety of classes.
Its a fairly nice gym, friendly staff and professional instructors. Id rate it clean environment and they have all the tools you need. Theres just one thing makes me very uncomfortable and frustrated. Smartphones in the chancing room and in the sauna. Its disturbing that someone is shooting a selfie whilst youre changing.. Or doing what ever they need to be doing with their smartphones in the..SAUNA?! I cant imagine the kind of addiction one might have if they really must bring their phone to sauna where one should relax and meditate. UGH. Several times I felt like some one may have been filming me (intentionally or unintentionally), though I cant be sure. This made me so uneasy. I told the staff, but they shrugged it off. It made me consider switching gyms and I have heard that other gyms in the area have zero tolerance for smartphones in the changing area and saunas. I would totally root for this, as these days you never know what people are doing with their phones..
Super clean, great sauna, and friendly staff. Some friends and I were in for a conference and got set up with guest passes - we enjoyed the gym
Clean and professional. Going at various times in the middle of the day it has not been too busy. Towards 5pm it picks up but is still manageable. They provide sweat towels which is great however shower towels are $5 extra per month.
Great place for exercising. Many classes and a first class group of trainers. Large free weight area and many stationary cycles and elliptical running machines.
Im a little bias as this is my neighborhood gym - but I find that it accommodates everything I need including coaches in addition to small and large workout classes; Spin, HiiT, Body Pump, Yoga, Balletone, etc. The instructors are amazing (Vicky, Kyle and Stephanie are some of my favorite) who assist you in your form to avoid injury and have best results. The membership prices are reasonable and hours are accommodating as well; including holidays.
Best group fitness classes in all of Seattle and a no frills neighborhood gym. Friendly members and never usually too crowded.
Just a word of who you are dealing with when you sign up for this place... I attempted to cancel my membership here. Apparently, that is not enough and now they are trying to get fees after I already cancelled my membership. I would not recommend this business for this reason along with a few others:- Machines are often broken and will not be repaired for a number of weeks- Overall the gym is not kept that clean- No air conditioning so summer months it is harder to use this facility- TVs and listening devices for them are old and do not work well if at allDo yourself a favor and find a better gym.
Recently moved, and hadn’t visited the gym in probably 3 months. Turns out you have to wait an additional 30 days so they can “review” your cancellation. I’m not asking permission to cancel my membership... I’m telling you I’m cancelling. Just to get one more payment out of customers? Seems shady.
As a former member of the Laurelhurst location, which closed May 2019, Im beginning to think The SeattleGYM folks are thieves, as they have yet to refund my money no matter the many requests for a refund. Calling doesnt work. Leaving messages doesnt work. Maybe a bit of public shaming will get the job done.
Best gym Ive ever been a part of. Great selection of equipment with good availability
I have been working out here for more than 6 months now. The staff is friendly. They have great group classes. Also, free sauna access and towel service.
Love the mind-challenge as well as athletic/balance challenges from Kari Andersons Sunday Reach class. Ballet mixed with yoga mixed with strength.
Very impressed with the esthetics of the atmosphere. Easy to maneuver and very equipped.
The Seattle Gym is great. I typically go to the one in Laurelhurst but we thought we would try the Queen Anne one. I really like the building and thought the staff was friendly. However, it was definitely smaller than the Laurelhurst location and parking was hard to find.
A great neighborhood gym in QA with lots of space, equipment, and classes.
Good set up and instruments, average ambience and motivated people gymming around.
The Gym itself is good from a facility standpoint. The low rating is due to the fact that there is little to no free parking in the area during peak times.
Very unique place, built in an old location with a lot the original building still in there.
Closes waaaaay too early on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. If you have to work either one of those days good luck catching the place open.
Great classes! They do monthly membership for a reasonable cost.
It is the second time that I stay in Seattle for two month ( I am from Argentina) and the second time I assist to the Gym. My experience was and is very good. I take the Pilates and DanceFITT classes first time, and now I tried Zumba, TBT and Yoga (with Kelly). For me is very important the guidance and experience of the instructors, and I think the instructors here are great, even when the group is numerous. Also they have affordable rates ( I was asking in other places, for me is more expensive here than in my country).
Lots of equipment, friendly staff, good range of classes, at low prices
Great variety of equipment and classes. Very interesting layout.
It has all the workout machines I like and very reasonably priced. Clean and friendly staff!
This place is by no means the nicest gym I have ever been to, but it does have everything I need, and the people are very nice.
Large enough to not feel rushed, and friendly staff.
Great, small gym with helpful, friendly staff.
Everything is a little haphazard and dated, and they have no kettlebells.
Very casual.
Love body pump!
Good gym but needs to be updated badly
Nice facilities
Great classes
