Exceptional! Very grateful for the amazing hair stylist Taylor Poitras. She is very knowledgeable and taught me the best ways on how to take care of my new curly balayage hair style. This barbershop goes above and beyond in their customer service, expertise, and high quality work. I am very pleased and I highly recommend them.

Appointment was made quickly. Shop wasnt busy, had Paul cutting my hair. He was very friendly and I actually had a good time talking with him. They gave me a signature cut instead of a standard for free because it was my first time, and it was a good cut. The fade was clean, but it wasnt 5 stars clean. Will be looking for a cleaner fade around the city, but would happily use this shop as a backup in the future if I needed to.

I usually dont post a review of a business, but this time I felt it was appropriate. Being new to Seattle, I was hesitant to go to an unfamiliar place to get my haircut. I chose this place because flying to Pennsylvania would be much too expensive. I always get simple medium fade or low face and a bit off the top; about 1 inch off the top. I know, from my experience in many places in the North East and now here, some barbers cant give a great fade. I knew from experience when the young woman instantly starting cutting my hair that she was inexperienced and did not know how to do a medium fade. I understood that everyone has to learn somehow, but the price of such an expensive haircut ($36) when the person who is cutting your hair is inexperienced is too much. Ive paid $15 for a phenomenal haircut. I didnt care too much for the price, as long as the price reflected the service and sadly it did not. I gave this review a two stars because for the most part everyone was kind. I thank the lady who helped and saved my haircut. I was okay with suffering through this all until the young lady made an inappropriate comment He has a weird shaped head. Im sorry I dont have a Caucasian round head. Im sorry that many people in Seattle have heads shaped liked mine, of many different ethnic groups. If you want your business to be friendly to all people then one must learn to cut hair of all people, of all shapes and sizes. This is why Hispanics go with Hispanic Barbers, African-Americans go with African-American barbers. The utter discrimination. Dont blame me for your inability to cut hair. I expected better from a city that prides itself with multiculturalism.

For such a great place with great service, a standard haircut is a great deal (free drink while you wait to be seated, too, though not since COVID). For a special occasion, the Signature haircut is really nice. Tracee always does a great job and is a pleasure to chat with! Would highly recommend Steele.

Amanda is fantastic! The shop is always clean, professional and upscale. Amanda has done a great, precise job and always makes sure my hair is layered so my hair always looks great, clean, and has fixed past haircuts from a not so great shop.

I got a shave from Curtis and it was a glorious experience. I highly recommend scheduling a shave. I enjoyed it so much I’ll be back with friends.

After long and tiresome attempts to find my ideal barbershop in the vicinity, I finally found it here. This place is the epitome of professionalism - both in the art of barbering and in customer service made right; the visit to this place is certainly worth every penny. But one would better book an appointment well in advance since the barbers schedule fills rather quickly.Paul, whose happy returning customer I am, is absolutely amazing! Hes witty, friendly, and make just brilliant haircuts, which even my, in a sense, picky wife adore.Keep doing a great job, guys!

Lorena has been taking care of me here for close to a year and shes been phenomenal! She took my everyday haircut, and helped me to look like the stylish professional I wanted, I cannot say enough good things. The salon itself is excellent, you get to hang out in a classy mens room with car themes, hunting, hard rock playing barber shop! Theres beer and plenty of seating. Matt did a great job decorating and the owner is true embodiment of the same: a Seattle loving, Pearl Jam fan himself! Overall great team, great value and I wont be going anywhere else for my hair-do needs!

Did not come out really well. They are not familiar with cutting Asian hairs. I asked for a simple low fade but it was not really what I wanted. I think the person who cut my hair was trained from a cosmetology school instead of a barber school so he did not really know how to do a simple clean cut. They have good vibes though.

Newish barber in the Roosevelt neighborhood. Finally went and got a haircut there.Easy website to use and book on. The space itself has both a salon and barber in it. The barber part is what I experienced. Offered beer or whiskey while waiting, staff was very nice.They offer you a t-shirt to wear while getting your haircut which I have not encountered before, very cool.I had a nice gentlemen cut my hair and he did a fantastic job, made suggestions based on how I wear it and did something different than I have before and I very much like it. Chatter was good not too much and didnt seem forced.They make it easy to book a return appointment and it ran me about 35$ for haircut eyebrow trim and wash rinse. A damn good deal for the quality.

Ive been going to Curtis at Steele Barber for my haircuts for the last 6 months and Ive loved every cut so far! Each time he takes excellent care of me, and his attention to detail is amazing. My hair still looks groomed and recently cut even 3 or 4 weeks later. My hair has a tendency to stick out and look shaggy quickly, so it is very noticeable to me how much better my hair looks in-between haircuts with Curtis.

This is my new favorite barbershop in Seattle. The atmosphere is welcoming and stylish without being pretentious. The stylists are all very friendly. Great quality haircut. They even have beer on tap for you to enjoy while getting your hair cut. I have been looking for a place like Steele for years and am so glad to have found them.

Absolutely incredible. This was my first visit and it couldnt have been a better experience. If you are looking for a barber shop or sick or trying different ones and find yourself leaving not completely satisfied, you must stop what you are doing and schedule a visit to Steele Barber. I can confidently say that this was the best haircut in my entire life. The signature cut was above and beyond any haircut experience I could have imagined. Extremely welcoming location and staff. First impressions- very comfortable and warm, it had the feeling where it was like a place i have been before. Comfy seats, chill music, cool decor and a nice beverage of choice. I had an excellent beer on tap. The haircut, wash, massage, dry, and overall experience was amazing and I will never go to any other barber shop. It is a must visit and well worth the price. You leave feeling great and a smile on your face. You will not be let down. Tracee was amazing and really cared about making sure I was happy with the cut and even took some libertys using her professional judgement to cut my hair to work with my hair texture and style I wanted. Lorena kills it every single time I go in. What amazed me even more was the fact that she takes the time to get to know and actually remember her clients. She sees how many people in between my appointments and still remembers the small details about my family or job. Her skills are unprecedented. Her fade game is dope, which is hard to find. She always makes sure I leave happy with how I look. And even though Steele doesn’t have the option for a beard trim, she does it for me because she always goes above and beyond. I honestly can’t give her enough kudos. She’s part of the dream team for sure. Steele Barber is lucky to have her. Also, get some Layrite hair products!

Incredibly impressed with Curtis!! I just received the best haircut Ive ever had. Blown away by his skill, precision, and attention to detail. New to the area and while on the look for a new barber shop, I wanted to give Steele a try.Since was my first time visiting, I did not have an appointment scheduled, even offered my apologies but, I was welcomed in.An awesome host named Amanda offered a drink to me and walked me to a closet where I could get my shirt changed.Natasha was appointed to take care of my hair and did a great job. She was kind and very professional, I tipped them well. Definitely will be back.

Courtney is AMAZING!!!! She should be cutting YOUR hair. She always gives me the best cut and has guided me through a few different styles with the best advice and honesty. Not only can you get a fine haircut here, but you can get a beer or some fine whiskey while waiting to get your haircut. They also have a signiture cut and hot shaves and I highly recommend this.

Beyond the obvious luxury of beer on tap or a couple fingers of whiskey with your haircut, I’m very impressed with this barbershop, specifically Amber. Thirty minutes before my appointment I suddenly felt horribly nauseated, but didn’t want to miss my appointment. When I went in I told her what the deal was, and she let me sit in silence while she cut my hair, and then plied my neck and scalp with peppermint oil and I felt better almost immediately. I also got a top notch haircut! The service at Steele is thoughtful and thorough, and I appreciate it. Thanks Amber!

If I’m being honest there any plenty of places to get a haircut in Seattle. But this was & is so much more than just another place to get a haircut. This was an experience unlike any other barbershop I’ve ever been in. Excellent customer service from start to end & I’ll give you the insider tip, ask for Amber. Highly recommended.

Before an upcoming trip I went into Steele Barber for the first time, it was fantastic! I had the pleasure of having Courtney do a haircut and beard trim, first of all she did an amazing job, second she was a joy to speak with during the whole process. I highly recommend going here! The setting is also pretty awesome.

Received the worst haircut ever here, I am pretty positive my barber did a line before cutting my hair. He was aggressively whipping My head around and shoved a clipper up my nose cutting the inside. He spent less than 15 min cutting my hair, asked for a short fade on the sides and a trim on the top and ended up with Long sides and a disconnected top. i was embarrassed to walk around.

Continue to go to this place and its just amazing. I always leave looking good and feeling relaxed.

The Barber is an expert! Well worth every cent, the attention to detail and when he does it, it’s like he knows exactly what he is doing without even thinking about it.

Im not mr. haircut by any means cause I tend to grow my hair out. I know very little about haircuts and usually just ask the stylist to do whatever it takes to try and make my awkward curly hair not look like hot trash. Despite my terrible instructions for what I want, they always come through and do a great job.Part of the reason why I keep going back is the incredible people that work there The owner, Matt Humphrey, shows this best by walking around the shop, seeing how everyone is doing and even carries a nice conversation with the patrons. He lets the employees be themselves and you can tell that everyone is just all around happy.Its obvious that when this place was opened the goal was to give it personality and and it has just that. I legitimately enjoy showing up early for my haircut so I can enjoy the atmosphere over a nice cocktail or beer and read one of the Range Rover magazines. It just feels like a place most of us dreamed of opening up when we first started drinking and you thought you had the best business idea but was too ridiculous to start... A dope place to get a hair cut and meet cool people over a drink...Long story short, Ill keep coming here.

Bought a package on Groupon and had the worst haircut I’ve ever had. Not sure the purpose of this Groupon deal. If the intention was to disappoint their potential long-term customers and don’t want them come back again, they definitely made it.

I had heard about a new barber in the seattle area, that cared about the person and the experience, over making money. I drove by before making an appointment, and saw how busy the whole salon was- which was encouraging. I made an appointment, and upon my arrival Courtney greeted me while she finished with her client. While waiting I was offered a fine whiskey or one of two northwest beers (I chose the Stoup one...). I mean, cmon who doesn’t love a sip and a haircut?!Courtney listened to what I was looking for, and executed it perfectly while carrying on a natural fun conversation during the length of my visit. She mentioned the unique Land Rover themed chairs and the entire Aveda product line, in a way that made me want to buy the product- not forcing me to.The massage was amazing!I made an appointment for 3 weeks to come back, and I can tell my experience will be consistent if not better.Great vision. It appears most people have a good experience once they get there, I guess I’m not a chosen one. I bought a Groupon to try them out, called various times of the day for 10 days, left several messages, no call backs, never able to set up an appointment. The Groupon says you must call ahead...all seems like the makings of a Groupon scam.I needed a haircut last month, can’t wait anymore. Groupon was kind and refunded me. I found a “no thrills” place I’ll drive 20 minutes to vs the 2 minute walk to Steele Barber.

The best haircut I have ever had! Steele Barber has raised the bar(ber)! This is far more than a haircut... I turned off of 65th into a secluded underground parking lot that is exclusive for the tenants of the building where Steele Barber Resides (Very Convenient). I Rode up the elevator to the 2nd floor, walked 2 steps, and I was in. Amber greeted me right away and promptly offered me a Steele Barber T-Shirt to wear in an effort circumvent an itchy post haircut experience. After swapping ts I was on my way. Amber escorted me to the chair (which has all the vintage charm of a classic barbershop chair, but with modern comfort.) The haircut experience was Top notch (of course) and Amber was so professional and she knew exactly what I wanted (Thank you Amber). The ambience and decor is killer and easily achieves parity with the name. Beer, Whiskey, Hand massage, Hot Towel Service, Great Music = A Perfect Afternoon. Steele Barber is a spa like experience that can not be matched. See you in three weeks!
