While I was completely satisfied with the actual service and got valuable information about my water heater, I’m very disappointed that the tech came into my home unmasked. When you call universe to confirm an appointment they go through a whole speech about masking if near their techs, please social distance, etc but then they don’t expect the same of their technicians? Next time I’ll have to take it upon myself to tell someone to put a mask on inside my home!

If you are considering installing ductless AC this is definitely the company to use. Everything about my experience with Universe was excellent. I was concerned with the look of the tubes and covers on the outside of my house I am especially pleased with the design and placement of the tubes and covers. Hands down they did a first rate job.

Universe repair app wanted to know how the technician did on a recent call to my home. If the company really cared to be informed about the worthiness of the individual, how he responded to my issues, they would have forwarded my opinion to the company itself, rather advertising it on Google. The technician did a good job, if his abilities and professionalism are a concern to Universe thank you.

New water filtration system for the whole house. The young gentleman showed up exactly on time, he was professional, courteous and knowledgeable. Now we wait to see how good the system is. I am going to drink water right out of the faucet for the first time, Im optimistic.

My furnace and water heater are covered by the Universe service contract. Yesterday the technician arrived within the scheduled time frame and introduced himself and appeared friendly and professional. He provided the preventive maintenance service as well as ordering a part for the water heater which he determined was defective. I feel he was very thorough and meticulous in his work and explained things to me which is something I always appreciate.

Frank was very professional, knowledgeable and kind. Took the time to explain things to my profoundly deaf husband and then called me also to tell me everything he told my husband in case my husband didn’t catch it all. Also very reasonable. I would use this company again hands down!!!

Thoroughly professional and thoroughly efficient problem solvers. I have been with them for years under contract and will continue doing so. I had carbon monoxide blow back and the technician responded with hours, found the problem, fixed the problem and made helpful recommendations.

I deal with many contractors in the various trades on a regular basis. Dave was one of the nicest most well-informed and honest people I’ve met in a long time. You could see he enjoys his work. He also gave me an option to do the electrical work in a way that is easier and more affordable than other contractors who have come in. Other contractors even told me I couldn’t move a wire in a specific way even when I asked why I was never given a clear answer. Dave not only said it could be done that way but offered it before I could even ask. Prices are competitive . I also called in somebody from their AC division and again prices were very competitive and the service and the time they spent to explain things is excellent. The electrical portion of the work was completed and I am extremely happy with the work. Dave and Kevin were great. They were the utmost professionals and left the job site immaculate. Its a rarity and a pleasure to do business with people who are not only excellent at what they do but also genuinely easy to work with. From my very first phone call to Universe (on the recommendation of several people) to the completion of my attic fan repair, I kept waiting for something to go wrong - the price suddenly goes up, the replacement part is damaged or doesnt fit, the installer breaks something else while working in my attic - but NOTHING happened!Universe quoted me a price that was much lower than the two other estimates I received, gave me a date to perform the service, showed up right on time, and got the job done in exactly the amount of time they had promised.To be realistic, this is an attic fan and I dont know if its working, or not. In fact, I didnt even know I HAD an attic fan until an animal ripped the cover off the old one and it started leaking into my attic. If I ever hear it actually turn on, Ill let you know; however, given this companys excellent reputation and the way they handled this service, I have no question in my mind that they did the job right and gave me a fan that will serve us well for many years.It is SO HARD to find a company like this these days. Until I came across Universe, I had resigned myself to settling for much less. Now the bar is set high again and I will measure any home improvement/repair company that does work in my house against the job that Universe did for us.Dont second-guess your friends, co-workers, and acquaintances who recommend that you contact Universe. After a month having my toilet fixed by another plumber/handyman it starting leaking again, Steve, from universe Home Device, quickly diagnosed the problem and handled the fix. His work was fast and cleanup on point. He will be my go to guy with future plumbing issues.

Universe was wonderful. They installed a 4-zone Fujitsu split-air system in our home in ONE DAY and we are thrilled with the results. The installers were professional and really knew what they were doing. And, the price was right (substantially better then other bids). Highly recommended!

My refrigerator was not cooling so I called Universe to come and fix it. They were very prompt in giving me an appointment as they know a refrigerator is a priority. I will say that their customer service is always very accommodating.The next day the service guy came...Mike. From the moment he came in he was NASTY and GRUFF! He started by hitting buttons on the control panel of my refrigerator. He yelled at me to take the stuff off on top of my fridge, took a vegetable drawer out of my refrigerator that had CARROTS in it threw the drawer on my kitchen island claiming it was HEAVY. He then told me he threw his back out. My wall air conditioner was on...he again yelled at me to shut it off because he couldnt hear anything. He was on the cellphone most of the time talking to someone??? talking him through this. At one point he walked outside and I heard him ask this person on the other end when can you come because I dont know what is wrong with it? He didnt know I heard him on the phone. THEN he came back with this LIE because he was covering up his incompetence and said to me that Its a freon issue and you need to call the manufacturer to fix it.Thats when I lost it. He was nasty, he was rude, he didnt want to do the job! He didnt even pull out the fridge! I started yelling after being abused by this idiot and basically chased him out of my house! But they told me they were not going to charge me! Ha! Thank you I wouldnt have paid anyway!I called another company. This new company came the next day, diagnosed the problem in 5 minutes, pulled out the refrigerator and fixed it in 20 minutes!And this guy Mike is who they claim is very competent.....Ha!Dont bother with this company for appliances. Maybe plumbing as Ive had great success with them in plumbing and heating but NOT appliances!

The technician was confident and knowledgeable about the repair that was needed to make the ice maker in my refrigerator function properly. He was on time for the appointment and worked neatly and left my kitchen as clean as when he arrived. He was courteous and wore a mask at all times. We had used another company that really messed up our AC unit where it became 90 degrees in our home. Universe sent their team member over to check out what was done and I can’t express how grateful I am for them expediting our ticket. I wanted an estimate of the cost of converting from oil to gas, the response was very quick. A site survey was conducted same day and an estimate provided with what options were available to me.

Frank was just simply AWESOME! After coming back from a late night BBQ, we noticed there was NO hot water. We contacted the emergency service and within minutes technician by the name Frank respond. Since it was too late in the evening, he offered to come in the first thing in the morning but he said it’s probably something simple so he wanted to help us right away. We started FaceTiming and within literally two minutes he solved the problem. He was very professional, very knowledgeable and he saved our family from showering in cold water. I am currently 8 1/2 month pregnant and I was very happy and relieved that I was able to shower comfortably in warm water. Thank you Frank!! Our family appreciate you!!

Quote, it took 10 minutes and they charged $119.49 to let me know that the job I needed was $1,600 but if I did it immediately it will cost $1,200. Then I got a call offering me to do it for $800. Really? I got another FREE quote for from someone else for $450.00

Had challenge in kitchen sink. Called for a non-emergency appointment on a Friday, a linking pipe that burst (luckily I was home and turned off the water!!) The tech (Paul) arrived on Monday on sked!! Within 10 minutes he evaluated the problem, explained various ways to repair and offered me different ways to do it. Explained that the least expensive might cause issues in the future.I choose the middle, repair burst water line and another right next to it that looked like it would burst soon, AND sure enough when the other pipe was replaced, he showed me that the one that looked bad, crumbled in his hand! IOW it would have burst within the month!!!The cost was about 15% more then a local handyman would have cost, BUT it was done so quick and professionally that it was worth the cost!!!Definitely would recommend PAUL (ask for him by name) and Universal, for plumbing repair!!! As I said they are a bit expensive BUT THEY GET THE JOB DONE!!!Would have given it 5 stars but it was a tad expensive, BUT AS I SAID, it was worth the cost!!! Would use them again!!!

Central AC unit failed on one of the hottest days of the year. Called Universe at 8 AM was here by 10AM diagnosed and fixed by 11:30. Technician checked a few things and knew exactly what was wrong, replaced the part and we are back up and running. Fast service, professional technician and price was quite fair. Very satisfied and highly recommended!

Came home from vacation to a hot house. Called Universe and was able to get a scheduled appointment for the next day between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm. Rich, the technician, arrived shortly after 9:00 and diagnosed the problem as a blown capacitor (I think). He completed the repair in about 15 minutes and the parts and labor were covered by my annual service contract. Cool and content.

I was shocked at the price of over $400 to fix a running toilet. I bought the parts myself for under $20 and did it myself in about 5 minutes. I’m out the service fee, but still saved hundreds. I’ve used this company before and have always felt comfortable, but this was outrageous. It’s a shame. Very disappointed. I won’t even get into the quote for my sink repair.

During this nasty heat wave, our Central AC went down. As a long time customer with a service contract, I called in for repair but unfortunately, Universe does not offer evening AC service like they do with heating so I had to wait it out to the next afternoon. With this heavy air and heat wave, I thought having evening service could be a well added value to their customers. They did arrive the next afternoon and promptly fixed the unit and I was up and running, cooled off by dinner. The guys who service the house are communicative, friendly and professional. When that truck is in front of my home, I am confident Im in good hands and that feeling has stayed with me for 20 years. The service contract which is always a should I or should I not decision certainly came in handy as well this time.

Universe is always great. I’ve used them for heating, plumbing and electricity. I most recently had electrical work done by Dave - the ultimate professional. Thorough with his work and while courteously answering numerous questions. Detail oriented.

Since Universe installed our Bosch gas heating & HW system in 2014, we have absolutely NO complaints. They have promptly responded to any call for service or maintenance with the most knowledgeable and professional staff we have EVER known. Frank was very patient and explained things clearly with regards to how wed have to go about installing ac and heating through our homes cumbersome layout.Update:Although our initial visit went well and things were explained to us, over a week later and we still have yet to receive our estimate/quote. Weve tried reaching out and left a message, but no one has contacted us since our in home visit. Maybe theyre too busy this time of year, or our house layout is too complex to give an accurate estimate.

First, I would like to start by staying, Frank was punctual.Frank came to provide an estimate for my Air conditioning. He provided expertise with options for both repair and replacement. I received his complete written estimate promptly by email.Whichever, decision rendered, Frank advised he would be the person to perform the service, which I was absolutely agreeable to.

I called Universe because I had a leaking outside faucet that was getting worse. They came that day and repaired the leak by replacing the pipe. The technician was very neat and efficient. Call for service for two items. Unfortunately, the dishwasher circuitboard was fried and the dryer was a small capacity and had multiple items needed. The cost to repair versus new did not make sense. The service man was honest as to possible costs and we chose to just pay the service fee. The next day we went out and have purchased brand new appliances. One has to measure if an older item is worth fixing . I found the serviceman to be honest and straightforward.

When I called for an estimate appointment Universe was able to get me an appointment the same week I called. Gary from Universe was prompt and professional. He went over my options for a ductless AC unit, the install process and most importantly the cost. I had done my research on what the cost should be, and had a budget in mind. Universe hit my budget number without Gary knowing it. We are scheduled to have the unit installed in a few weeks which is not bad considering it’s the busy season for HVAC companies. Universe will have my unit installed before any of the other companies I called would even have been able to give me an estimate.

Avoid at all cost. I waited almost 2 months. They said they had units in stock and if I placed my deposit they guaranteed they could install 8/24 and I could hear the salesman confirm it with installing they had in stock and confirmed I had one. Well after a long wait I get a call that they have had to cancel on people all summer long and they dont keep them in stock and basically told me I was a liar. I went with them based on their word which lesson learned. I got the run around trying to get my deposit back. Called another company who felt bad as I have a toddler with lung issues and the manager is installing it next week. Universe even told me there was no way the other company had them in stock. The call was placed Friday and the installation manager from the other company NAPCO installed it Tuesday because Monday was pouring from a tropical storm. Better companies put there go with them

He was respectful, and great with explaining what went wrong, and how it was fixed. He even explained well and clear, what we can do if we encounter the same problem again. Which is unlikely.But he took the time to save the problem fan in our profile just in case. He explained to us we have a 30 day warranty, if it breaks or if we decide we just want to replace it. I chose not to since the fan blade slid off, the motor is fine.Overall I was really happy with my experience from the phone call, to the service. Thank you universe home services.

Joe Fucito came to give an estimate for central air after I canceled contract with another company because the salesperson “ didn’t have time to answer questions” and submitted the survey for the permit showing the compressor at my front door ! Joe Fucito was friendly, super professional took his time, answered my questions and most of all was knowledgeable ! He was an installer, and service technician prior has been with universe for many years so he understood the whole process ! Universe costs a bit more. But don’t be fooled by lower prices as I was. Did not even bother to troubleshoot the AC system by taking out ONE tool. they guessed it was the compressor. IT WAS a $7 capacitor.interested only in selling a new system.
