I have been going to Lloyds for my car maintenance and tires for 10+ years. Their customer service is great and I always feel I can trust their suggestions about required work to be done. The Scotts Valley location is very convenient and my car is always ready when promised.

A special shout out to Kim at the service desk, who is extremely knowledgeable and answered all my questions about tires, alignment, warranties, etc. with clarity and patience. Lloyds has been in Santa Cruz for many decades, and its their commitment to customer service that keeps them here. Theyre known for tires, but their service has expanded to all areas of car service. They now have a shop in Scotts Valley. Theyre very helpful and are working to gain customers. My limited experience with them has been very positive. My brother takes his cars here and Ive only heard good things. Took a punctured tire to their Scotts Valley shop and they were fast and courteous. Many years ago, the owner let me borrow a tool, and completely trusted me to bring it back. I was impressed. Just like any automotive shop, theres bound to be issues. Its the nature of the car business, as cars can be difficult and touchy and sometimes a bit mysterious. Some people dont understand that and they become frustrated. If your looking for a quality auto repair shop, Lloyds is a good bet.

I’d highly recommend Lloyd’s tires of Scotts Valley. I just bought four brand new tires less than 2 months ago from Lloyd’s and today I found myself in a bit of an emergency situation today while driving over HWY 17 to go to an appointment over in Palo Alto. Suddenly, my tire pressure alert system went on in RED! That meant I had a sudden decrease in tire pressure and probably a flat. I was close to the Granite Creek exit so immediately got off the HWY and drove straight over to Lloyd’s to find out what was going on. Sure enough I had a small wooden stake jammed into my back tire and it was not repairable. I explained my problem and they quickly and urgently took my car and put the spare tire on it and ordered a new tire that will be in the next day. I was back on the road within 15 minutes!!! Thankfully, I had purchased the hazard warranty and I only have to pay for installation and not pay for a whole brand new tire! I’m so grateful to their staff for making a bad situation better! I really appreciate them handling my car with speed and efficiency!!! You now have a customer for life!!! Thank you again!!!

I went for a smog check in the middle of the day without an appointment, and had a great experience. Service was prompt, and everyone was friendly and courteous. The office was clean and comfortable and offered complimentary beverages while I waited. Great overall experience.

These guys are a total life saver. There were only a couple of nails on the center of one road I normally take to get home from work, and I just happen to run them over and blow a tire (Ones I just bought in fact). Lloyds staff were very professional and prompt with finding the right tire for me and not only replaced it at an unbeatable price, but in just under one hour. They even provided refrigerated drinks to help pass the time. If youre in the Santa Cruz county, I wouldnt recommend any other auto shop than Lloyds for your car tire needs.

Ive only been to the Scotts Valley location. Super nice staff and the woman that works in the office is a Rockstar! Clean and comfy waiting room. BEST of all is they serve Santa Cruz Roasting Co. coffee!

Bought a used hybrid for my daughter and went to Lloyd’s in Scotts Valley to get a smog. Their facility was amazing...Clean and well staffed. I asked about getting service for the hybrid and they gave me quotes and detailed what was needed. Much of what is needed on a 90k and 120k service is what they check on just the oil change. They also said they would see what the master battery life is on the car as part of the process. Didn’t try to up sell me. Clearly that is where we will be taking our car. Thanks Lloyd’s!!

My son is a new driver and had pulled too closely to a concrete parking bumper block and the underneath of my van got pulled down and was dragging on the ground. I showed up at Lloyd’s in Scotts Valley without an appointment on a busy afternoon and one of their mechanics stopped what he was doing to take a look and said he’d quickly fix it. They didn’t even charge me.I went the following week for a SMOG check and again had an excellent experience. They were professional, courteous, and quick.I plan to go their for my car needs from now on.

Fixed a flat for me in no time

Was hoping that I found a new shop in the area to service my cars. Took one in for an alignment and was told they couldn’t completely align my wheels because the car was lowered and I needed to install adjustment devices first. Thing is those devices are ALREADY INSTALLED on this car! They didn’t even bother looking at the parts or attempt to adjust the camber at all or they would have seen this. Unreal. So $110 later I have to find and pay another shop to actually do the work.

Damaged all 4 of my wheels powder coated finish. I brought my car in to get a balance and when removing my wheels damaged every one of them with their lug wrench. The area around my lugs has a silver band from the paint being scraped away 👎

The night before we had a bit if a go-round - or rather *over* - I should say... With what looked like a triangular planter in the middle of a bend in the road. Long story short the shock mount pushed through. In getting everything back in place the nut on the shock axle got a bit out of shape and left the threads it was on a mess. I walked in over there at Lloyds and Dean pointed me in the direction if the shop to talk to Jimmy, while the nice girl at the register induldged the hyper machinations if an excited customer. Upon reaching the shop and Jimmy, interrupting his lunch to give a bit of direction, glanced at me and asked what was up? I asked if he had a couple of nuts that match so I could clean up the threads a bit and get rolling again I wasnt counting on the patch lasting long and when Jimmy saw the message to be fixed, he let out that sound mechanics make when they are really disappointed in the situation. He said hed look and disappeared into the back with my shock. Mind you, the car is on a block up the road. After a bit Dean came in and checked on me, tested a trucks charging system with this great tester with a print out of the results. I gave myself a little tour of all the different size tires. All filled and ready to go on their trucks, cars, ATVs and trailers. A bit of everything - the nice girl from up front came in looking for Jimmy too. I pointed to the back. After she came back and headed to the office I became a bit concerned. And then there came Jimmy. With my shock and two matching nuts just like I asked and to my amazement... the mucked up threads they were on were nearly like new and it was all free and easy spinning. Impressive. I asked what I owed for interrupting his lunch and the answer was nill so I tossed a five for a cup o Jo and gave Jimmy the blessings if the car Gods for duties above and beyond the call.True help.

We have been buying our tires from Llyods for 20+ years have been amazed at how professional they are. Since Llyods became a full service operation we have taken our Toyotas, first to the Santa Cruz operation and recently to Scotts Valley. We can recommend them without reservation.Recently, we needed about $2500 in tires and repairs. Francisco gave us a very accurate quote and the work was completed on time. Importantly he didnt try to pressure us by up- or cross selling other products or services . This was one of the major reasons we stopped taking our cars to Toyota of Santa Cruz whose service managers constantly pushed questionable services even after we had refused them.

Good service, just got tires and they didn’t fall off or go flat so they get an A. Only downside is you can’t schedule an appointment so you have to wait for a spot and they weren’t very accurate with their estimated time.
