We had a wonderful experience with the carriage tour! We had our private tour with an engagement proposal and Julianna was our guide and Albert was our horse. Julianna was THE BEST OF THE BEST!!!!!She was very knowledgeable on the history of the city and was a great story teller with fun facts about the City!!We would definitely recommend this tour and If at all possible ask for Julianna and Albert to get the very best tour!!!!!!Thank you Julianna and Albert ππππ
Booked a private evening tour for my GF... Guide seemed to know the area pretty well, appropriate history and answered all of the questions we had. Would certainly repeat!
Educational and informative carriage ride through Savannah. I learned a lot about the citys rich history folklore.
Marty (driver/tour) and Felix (horse) were fantastic! Marty was pleasant, knowledgeable, and sweet. Beautiful tour of the city and the extra $ spent for the personal tour was well worth it. We loved it!
Renee and smokey were awesome tour guides. We had an awesome time. Will definitely do it again.
We had the best time on our private tour with Julianna and Smokey!! She was so knowledgeable and so sweet and easy to talk to. 10/10 would take this tour again. I wish it could have been longer because we were enjoying ourselves so much! Absolutely will take the tour again when we come back to visit Savannah.
Really worth doing to learn the history of Savannah. Our carriage driver was entertaining and knowledgeable. Definitely do this in Savannah
We had so much fun learning more about Savannah on this beautiful, relaxing carriage tour! Renee, the driver was very knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. Joker, the horse, was beautiful and calm with a fun personality. They were careful and safe while making sure we had an amazing time. Loved this tour! It was the highlight of our short time in Savannah.
Renee and joker were absolutely amazing! Renee was extremely knowledgeable about the area and had a lot of information to share. My boyfriend proposed to me on the ride and she was absolutely spectacular about taking pictures of us.
Lovely afternoon tour of Savannah. Much more relaxed and personable than the big trolleys or walking tours - a small group of only 7 in the carriage. Special shout out to Brock (guide) and Albert (horse); Brock was knowledgeable and brought a sense of humor to the tour. Will recommend future visitors do this tour!
We had a great ride with our equine tour guide, Albert. He was so cute and wonderful along with his person, Pam LOL. Thanks for a memorable evening ride π The Phillips
We had a fantastic experience with Savannah Carriage Tours. I reserved a private carriage for my in-laws, but they were confused about the time and missed their reservation. Savannah Carriage was flexible and got my in-laws rescheduled for later in the evening. They absolutely loved it; the driver was very knowledgeable and warm. Thank you for giving my in-laws a fantastic experience.
Loved our tour guide he was very knowledgeable.. enjoyed learning while sightseeing!
We had a great time on this tour! Renee was our guide. She was very friendly and kept us laughing. She encouraged us to say hello to George (horse). He was beautiful and welcomed the attention. My daughter was able to walk right up and pet him. Savannah is a beautiful place. I would highly recommend taking a tour by carriage.
Jake, Renee, and Joker were great! Super knowledgeable and gave a thorough history of Savannah. The private tour was one of the highlights of our trip. Highly recommend!
Julianna was very nice and very knowledgeable about the history of Savannah, Ga. My husband and I were on our honeymoon. We had a great experience and ride. Thank you Savannah Carriage Tour.
A wonderful carriage ride with Juliana. She was an excellent tour guide and the horse Felix was just gorgeous! Very informative and Juliana made it special for all of us!
Our guide Sue and her horse Albert were most excellent. A nice easy ride and lots of history shared with us during our tour. I highly recommend them. Youβll enjoy it!
I really wanted to give them 5 stars, but our tour guide, Charlie, was not that great. His jokes were lame dad jokes, he was easily distracted by what was going on around us, and he even bashed a car for having a Student of the Month bumper sticker on it. Not professional. With a better tour guide this would have definitely been a good time.
We had a wonderful experience with the carriage tour! We did the group tour and Julianna was our guide and Albert was our horse. She was fantastic! She was very knowledgeable on the history of the city and was a great story teller. We would definitely recommend this tour!
Amazing tours worth the money and was able to get on and off all day to my convenience amazing would recommend to anyone looking for tours!
We had a private late evening tour, super nice guide very informative as we both enjoyed,Cost me how ever a red front door....lol..
Awesome, had a wonderful time If your ever in Savannah, take a ride and see the shops on river s6
Our family of 5 - grandmom, parents & 2 kids - had the best ride with Renee and Albert. Wonderful fun history and great stories. This is our second ride with Savannah Carriage Tours. Both were terrific and completely different. Definitely not a one size fits all operation! Looking forward to returning and going again. Thanks Renee and Albert!
Terrible! We had a tour scheduled for 6:30 they told us that it was 6 and we missed our tour. Even though they told us 6:30. This was our 1st time in Savannah my two girls were looking forward to this! They told is that they could not take us. They didnt even look like they were sorry, horrible customer service...choose the other one!
Terrible :( saw a single poor horse pulling EIGHT people in 93 degree heat with 100% humidity and the poor guy (horse) looked like he was dying. He was barely shuffling forward as if ready to keel over from heat exhaustion.Another one of their horses in front of hotel indigo was visibly distressed and trying to shake his bit out of his mouth. Probably horribly dehydrated. This is what SLAVERY looks like. Its just plain archaic and cruel. Im shocked carriage rides are still allowed in Savannah.I was further dismayed after doing a little more research on how these horses are cared for and where they live. They basically work insane hours - non stop and then sleep in tiny paddocks with no opportunities to rest or socialize like horses are meant to.Please do not support carriage tours in Savannah- take a walking or trolly tour- heck- even segways or a pub cycle...anything but making these poor mistreated horses drag you around the city in the heat.
Our tour was great. Our tour guide was Renee. She was well versed in historical knowledge and had us laughing and entertained the entire time.I highly recommend requesting her
I was in Savannah for the first time on my honeymoon. This carriage ride was wonderful! I cant remember our tour guides name, but she is a sweet woman from Kansas City. We rode with George. I loved how great she was with the horse! Respectful and caring. She was extremely knowledgeable of the history of Savannah. It was my first carriage ride ever, and I loved it! The beauty of the city, and fun facts we never knew.Highly recommend!
We loved our guide...he made the tour great!
Jake and Albert (our horse) were excellent! Lots of history of Savannahs interesting anecdotes!
Had a fantastic experience! Would definitely do it again!
We took this tour with Sue and her horse, Rooster. It was wonderful. Sue was so knowledgeable and our family learned a lot from her. We highly recommend it.
We loved our tour guide and Albert! Very informative.
I highly recommend taking a carriage ride with these folks. They are friendly and knowledgeable about Savannah and its history. Our driver was pretty cool which made for an entertaining ride. But be warned: during a busy time of year, you will need to make a reservation before you plan on going-the slots fill up ridiculously quick, so dont get mad if you just meander up wanting a tour and they are booked. The reason I mention that is we seen it 1st hand while there. The hostess however was very professional in dealing with the outburst from someone who thought they were more important than anyone who had made a reservation. She handled it a lot better than I would have!
The carriage tour was absolutely amazing. The driver with peppercorn was very funny and knowledgeable about the ins and outs of the city. He also shared funny little movie trivia facts about the area. Peppercorn was a great horse and very friendly for us to take photos with after the ride. Over all the ride was a must do for the first or second time tourist thinking about what to do around the city. Very great company to do business with.
We loved our carriage ride with Pam and Felix! The historic details were very interesting and entertaining. My only suggestion would be that the required masks makes it a bit difficult for passengers to understand driver.
Great tour guide on this one.. props to Renee on all the history. She knows her stuff! And Felix was the best!! Highly recommend.
We had a great tour! We were able to call in the early afternoon, and got a same day reservation for a public historic tour. There were 8 guests total on the carriage. I felt like we were comfortably seated and had plenty of room. The price was very reasonable! The horse seemed to be very well-loved and very well taken care of. Our lovely horse looked like he was in great shape, and he didnβt even break a sweat during our tour! As a previous long time horse owner, it is very obvious to me when a horse is not taken care of. Do not believe the negative things you read online! Horses are VERY expensive to feed and upkeep, and these are draft horses that eat a lot of feed/hay. It would be obvious if they were not well fed/taken care of. They have special shoes that are meant for walking on the roads. Draft horses have been bred for thousands of years specifically to do work like this (pull heavy equipment and carriages). It is very easy for them, and most of them enjoy it. The carriage driver was very friendly and very knowledable about the area as well. This is a great, unique way to learn some of the history of Savannah.
Nice horse drawn carriage ride around the city. Reasonably priced, lasted about an hour. We saw alot of the city, and received a commentary during the tour. Would recommend the tour if you are in the city.
Guide was super informative and very entertaining. Well worth the time
Sue and Jasper were fantastic!! We enjoyed our carriage ride and learning about the history of Savannah. Sue also gave many suggestions of places to eat and things to do. Would highly recommend a carriage ride around historic Savannah.
We did the night time ghost tour. Our guide, Emily, was very knowledgeable about the area and made our ride fun. Beau is the sweetest horse ever. Emily is also a mighty spider slayer and rescued us from a gigantic spider. She is our hero!
Jake d great and Albert the horse was very chill!
This was a GREAT tour. Our tour guide was Kirstie and our horse was Katie. Entertaining and very informative. Plus Kirstie had a cute cowgirl hat and the cutest finger nails. Family fun!
Kelly and Jack were awesome!
Really enjoyed our carriage experience. Our tour guide was very accurate and knowledgeable. She really interacted with the smaller children and made them feel like it was about them. They are 5 and 6 and were even asking good questions and she was great.
Awesome service & very knowledgable escort! Loved Teddy (the horse) - handsome & very brilliant! Easy over the phone reservation & when we got there! Loved it! Will ride again!
You either have to pay $150 for a private or be crammed into a small carriage with strangers. You will have 3 strangers facing you from a foot away and breathing in your direction the entire tour. We all know homemade masks donβt totally stop the spread of covid. Itβs obvious this company doesnβt care about the safety of their customers.
Rene is the greatest off the beaten path tour guide . Great info . Fun time . Thx !
Scheduled a private carriage tour for 2130. The night was perfect and clear after a light drizzle prior. We planned dinner and drinks around it. They called us 14 minutes prior to cancel, as we were walking up to meet them βoh. We were just calling you.β They cancelled because they said their lights didnβt work; however, their lights were on (as we pointed out). They asked us to reschedule tomorrow when itβs supposed to be pouring rain (which we pointed out βbut itβs savannahβ). Super disappointed
This company is everything youβd ever hope for and more! Each staff member is paired with their teammate and partner (the horse). The bond is tangible. You can truly see and feel the relationship built. Itβs the most endearing thing to witness. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our private tour through the city. Marti was our guide and she was absolutely fabulous. Her knowledge, attention to detail, and genuine enthusiasm to please was such a breath of fresh air. If youβre looking to explore Savannah - donβt hesitate to book your tour with this family owned and family-run company! Iβm so grateful we did!
Our rour guide was great
The best horse and carriage ride we have ever had. Our driver Mike Was a hoot!!! He knew so much history and had such a great personality. We also loved Felix our horse. He was so sweet and very good. Will use the two when we come back in November. Highly recommend them
So amazing! Our driver was wonderful and had a great personality. Would for sure use them again.
Great experience! Our tour guide, Sue was very knowledgeable and overall it was an enjoyable experience.
Really enjoyed this tour. Our horse was good at his job and our guide knew the history well.
We had an excellent experience. We booked a private tour for 4 and it was great. Mike our tour guide was very informative and knew a lot of history and had good stories to tell. Even showed us some famous places where movies were filmed. He was very nice and funny too. With the overcast in weather they were able to provide us with a nice covered carriage. The driver stopped a few times to allow the horse to drink. The only thing I was confused about was the Girl Scout rate as we were a small group of scouts. The website states they have a rate for scouts no group too big or too small but when I inquired was told we were too small. Nonetheless I still highly recommend
Awesome would suggest to anyone very nice ride and horses were beautiful!
My heart breaks for those horses in this heat
Had a great time with Pepper and Sue. She was very knowledgeable about key points and thorough with her tour. She was also safety-minded for the passengers and horse.I feel like this was the one attraction that we could not miss and most definitely worth repeating.
Loved this. Just a big price to pay for private ride with not a lot of time. Only down fall.
We took a tour with Rene and Felix on June 9th and they were wonderful! Rene filled our tour with rich Savannah history and Felix was as sweet as he could be. We didnt want the tour to end! Thank you Rene and Felix!
Awsome awsome
We did a private carriage tour. George was our horse and Charlie was our driver. We all had a fantastic time, including our fur baby. Charlie was extremely informative about the history of Savannah, we learned so much on our tour and felt it was a pleasurable educational experience not only for us, but our children too. It was definitely the highlight of our trip and our kids thought so as well. Thank you again Charlie and George!!!
Donβt do it. Find another company or do the Old Town Trolley or Old Savannah Tour. Bought online for our anniversary. Paid $120. Money wasted. The driver had very few historic facts. Like 4 stories for the tour. We LOVE Savannah and go 6-8 times a year. We have done all the other tours (multiple times) and ghost tours. This was so disappointing. I even emailed the company and got no response (itβs been 4 months). Savannah is a romantic city. You donβt need to waste you money here. Buy the Old Town Trolley and walk Forsyth Park. Better time, better experience, more romantic.
Excellent tour guide, thank you Renee!Joey E
Awesome time with good history
Renee was our guide and Jasper was our beautiful horse. Our guide was very friendly & knowledgeable and our horse was super sweet & smart.
It was a very informative carriage ride through the historical district on the history of Savannah.
Renee was excellent!!!!!!! I LOVED my tour. A MUST DO!!!!!!
Thought this would be a great way to see Savannah for our first visit and we thoroughly enjoyed it! Our driver ( Michelle ) and George the horse made a great team, she knew her history, made us laugh and George was so well behaved and knew his way without even being told. Grateful for the amazing tour and laughs!
It was awesome. The lady was great.
Beautiful tour of Savanna
Jasper was such a sweet Horse!! I lived the carriage tour !
We only spent the afternoon and evening in Savannah but the carriage ride made it a perfect trip. We got to see more and learn way more than we ever would have on our own. Well do it again on our next visit.
Disappointing. Guide was not very knowledgeable of citys history. It was a short loop, and the price was not what was quoted in advance. And we had an awkward lull waiiing on horse to rest. Expensive lesson on what not to do in Savannah. Skip this!
I booked the private tour for my husband and myself. Joey was our guide and George was our horse. Both were wonderful! Joey gave us lots of great information and as an added bonus gave us some local pointers on places to see and eat!
We did a private carriage tour in the middle of July and minus the heat it was great. Our tour guide Joey was awesome! He knew tons of facts about Savannah and we found him much more knowledgeable than the trolley tour. I did the proposal tour and it went great from start to finish. They even got us a few gifts as well. This was a great time! I plan on commcc back next time we visit Savannah!
We wanted to show our family around savannah while they were in town, so we booked a private tour. The carriage was nice and comfortable and our horse George was clean and looked very well cared for. You could tell he enjoyed what he was doing, was happy and was neighing so much! Our guide Michelle kept us laughing and made our tour so fun.
I wish I could give 0 stars. I booked a carriage tour for my trip at the beginning of October. The day of the tour, the carriage showed up 20 minutes late. The horse would not cooperate and about 15 min into the tour, the operator gets a call to go back to the starting location so the next tour wont be late. She tells me that I can either join the next tour or receive a refund. I could not do the next tour so I requested the refund. I have both emailed and called Historic Savannah Carriage Tours for my refund and have not received a response - it is now December. Very rude and unprofessional.
We had a wonderful tour, and the guide was witty and knew a great deal of Savannah history. Since we did a private tour he was able to tailor our tour for us, and we were very impressed. If your in Savannah and want to see the city in a fun new way this is it!
We had Audrey as our driver and Teddy as our gentle giant. It was a fun and wonderful experience. Audrey filled us in on anything we asked about along with all the local history. Teddy was very well behaved even with construction going on many of the roads. Audrey was more than happy to enable my excitement over odd things like the fish spout on a drain pipe or any other tangent I found and took a lovely photo of us when it was all over. She also let me pet Teddys nose. It was a lovey experience! We were going to do a cliche trolley tour too but felt we didnt need to after a carriage tour which was much better. It was a lot of fun!
These horses are so loved, well cared for and socialized; petting them is encouraged whether youre taking a tour or just walking by the carriage stand; and this company is meticulous and responsible about their care, especially regarding the heat regulations.BTW The horse are hosed down every hour when the temperature is over 85Β°, and they go in when the temperature reaches 95Β°.Every one of the tour guides for this company seems to love their job, theyre knowledgeable and entertaining while still professional. Its no surprise that they are the number one recommended carriage tour company in the city. The tours are 45-50 minutes long, depending on the horse and traffic, and generally cover the best parts of the historic district, an area still designed to accommodate carriages better than cars.
Great experience when in town. My wife and I were lucky to have a private tour with Michelle and Katy was our wheels. When you are there ask for them and you will not be disappointed!
We had a great time! Marty, our tour guide, was super personable. We learned a lot, got to see a tone of cool sites. And got to relax a little while we were at it. I would definitely recommend it!
Nice tour
Love the ride
Enjoyed my tour. Called to reserve a private tour. Company did not book it when we arrived. But Alexis made it up to us. She rebooked it at a discount for two hours later & had a gift bag of goodies for us. Thanks for stepping up. Enjoyed it.
My boyfriend took me to Savannah for a romantic getaway away (our first trip without our kids) He surprised me with the romantic tour and it was absolutely fabulous! Our tour guide Sarah Kate was AMAZING! She was super sweet and friendly and sweet. She was very informative and gave great insight to some of Savannah history! Highly recommend taking this tour and highly recommend Sarah Kate!!!
