My girlfriends and I came to Savannah for a quick getaway. Because Im a foodie I was responsible for selecting all restaurants. I did some research & came across Garibaldis. Our dining exprenice was top.Our server Bobby, provided the an impeccable dining experience. He knew the menu & specials well. He made excellent pairing of wine with dinner. I highly recommend.
Here in Savannah for the week and we realized we hadnt tried an Italian place during our stay. Found Garibaldi and we are glad we did. The entire dining experience was great and our waiter, Bobby, was phenomenal. I had she crab soup at pretty much every restaurant we went to and this was my favorite out of the 3 I tried. The only negatives were the veal and chicken parmesan my wife and I had were in need of salt and the sauce was a little too loose for my liking. If the entrees were seasoned as well as the appetizers, this would have been a perfect visit. I thought about giving 4 stars for the entrees being under seasoned but Bobbys great service deserved every bit of 5 stars. Dont miss out on this place.
Filet mignon, and scallops with risotto and asparagus. Excellent, excellent! The calamari app was delicious. We devoured it before we could snap a pict. Nice, cozy, upscale, staff is excellent, bar staff very friendly (open floorplan so we could watch them make drinks from across the dining room). The Old Fashioned drink was delicious, too (both of them, in fact!). Great anniversary vibe.
First of all, my husband and I have lived in Savannah for 1 year now and one of our biggest Hobbies is going to a new restaurant every chance we get and Savannah has hundreds upon hundreds of fabulous restaurants. So, this is a full-time Hobby! LOL. This restaurant like so many others I think here in Savannah always surprised us with the elegance and the hospitality of the employees. The Ambiance of this place is absolutely lovely! The vibe of the sense of History is oozing in their dining room. We were greeted at the door by the maitre d Hans. He was delightful and very professional you could tell he loves his restaurant. As far as the food goes it was excellent. We started with cocktails and some calamari along with some fried green tomatoes. Calamari is one of our must-tries at every restaurant we go to. Its kind of like quest for the best calamari. LOL. And this calamari was extremely good so Krispy with so much flavor, we loved it. The fried green tomatoes were also excellent with a Twist on it with mozzarella cheese on top and the Tomato compote to go with it. My husband had lobster pasta which was out of this world and he ate every bit of it. I had the duck which was excellent with risotto. Needless to say we will be coming back to this restaurant again. I highly recommend it if you are new to Savannah and are looking for a great romantic place to eat. This is it!
Incredible! Southern hospitality meets classic fine dining at a respectable price. The staff is a choreographed dance thats just so satisfying to watch. They have a camaraderie that I envy. The food was just amazing. The flounder is masterful.I would 100% come back and 100% recommend this restaurant to anyone.
10/10This restaurant exceeded our expectations. Our reservations fell through at another restaurant for our wedding night dinner. Fortunately for us Garibaldis had room and got us and wedding party right in. They were very accommodating. Excellent food and wait staff. The duck was fantastic. And cookie pie at the end topped it off. Thank you and we appreciate you.
We took my mother-in-law here for her birthday and they were so amazing in making it special for her with a lovely birthday themed decorated plate that she loved! The ambiance of the place is really incredible and the food is delicious. They have a great seafood menu and all the staff are very welcoming and friendly.
Delicious food. Great service. A bit overpriced
Perfect atmosphere for a romantic date night! We loved the ambiance and our server was amazing! Definitely make a reservation so you’re not waiting too long as the restaurant is very popular and was packed. Seared salmon was very good and well seasoned! The Steak Dianne lacked seasoning and flavor but was a very good and tender cut. Signature drinks were interesting but had a weird taste and we weren’t able to finish them.
Delicious food, great atmosphere, and wonderful customer service. It all started when attempting to make a reservation for my birthday dinner and the times were full. We we’re able to contact the restaurant that morning and Matt added us to the cancellation list with hopes of accommodating us and it worked out. Our waitress, Sophia, was so friendly and pleasant. She was very attentive to detail and knew the menu very well and offered great suggestions. My husband had the Duck and I had the Seafood Alfredo, both delicious and great portion sizes. They were able to accommodate my son who has a seafood allergies with no issues and his food was out in minutes. We will definitely return and dessert was also amazing, we had the almond berry basket and the shell was a treat in itself.
We had our Anniversary Celebration here and the dinner was amazing. The scallops were cooked to perfection and the Lasagna was delicious. In addition, the service was excellent. Our server Bobby is definitely an asset to your business. He had a great personality and was attentive to our needs. We highly recommended dining here.
Love the two hostess. They were really awesome. The atmosphere of the restaurant was amazing. Love the lobster and clams amazing. I gave a 4 star only because the pasta wasnt flavored and our waitress seemed to not be that attentive. However, I will definitely visit again. I highly recommend this place.
Absolutely the best service, food, drinks and desserts plus french press coffee. Havent had a better meal in Savannah than here.
We weren’t able to get a reservation at the Pink House and Garibaldi’s was suggested and what a treat! The atmosphere and hospitality are amazing! We tried the duck sliders and they were delicious! You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu and the pricing is extremely reasonable. Must try!
We were a party of 8 and the service was okay. My husband loved the crispy flounder, and it was an impressive dish. Everyone seemed to like what they ordered, except for me. They forgot my meal...twice, by the third time I had to ask for it I didnt even want to eat anymore. Everyone in the party was done and ordering coffee. They managed to make the outside hot and the inside ice cold when it finally did arrive. The only reason theyre getting a three is because of the flounder, but I guess if its your signature dish, you should make sure you dont mess it up.
Amazing food and atmosphere. The scallops were succulently perfect. Our waiter was quite attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. I would suggest reservations if you dont want a long wait.
The food was excellent. Terrific shrimp risotto. The crispy flounder was fresh snd perfectly done. Service was excellent.
If nothing else go for the LAMB RIBS!! Lord have mercy those ribs are incredible. Meat falling off the bone with sauce unmatched! When the waiter came back we had inhaled our appetizers. Entrees were good too. I had lasagna which was the perfect size and not too over the top. Great customer service and the inside is pretty too. I’d definitely recommend.
Garibaldis is a showstopper both with the beautiful decor and also the divine food! The staff was so friendly and professional from the moment I stepped in the door. I loved my server, Bobby and the manager, John also came by to see how I was doing. The bread melts in your mouth, fresh and warm. The French soup made with Vidalia onions was delicious and the lobster pasta was excellent! I just love great southern hospitality and you will definitely find it here. I will certainly dine here again and very much look forward to doing so! It is close to the City Market on Congress, enjoy!
Our meal quite good. The starter of the Olive bowl was unique and enjoyed by everyone in our party. The entrees were excellent. The Chicken Milanese was so tender it was amazing. The atmosphere intimate and not so loud that we couldn’t hear each other.
Hits every note of being the perfect romantic date night restaurant. Historic charm, ambient warm lighting, white table cloth with candles lit all over. Our server was amazing and they easily accommodated our reservation request to be seated in the most private area available. The calamari was wonderful and the apricot shallot sauce is amazing! We had the seafood Alfredo which was very delicious and a huge portion (you could feed two people!) followed by Belgian chocolate tort cake. Everything was delicious and hands down the best service I’ve experienced in any restaurant. They went above and beyond to make our anniversary date special.
Excellent food and top notch service. I highly recommend Garibaldis for special occasions.
Beautiful restaurant. The food was delicious and service was great. Beautiful ambience. Our server, Sofia, was kind, personable, and very attentive.
Killer spot for a great dinner in the heart of downtown Savannah. Great atmosphere with elegant dining room, great bar and upstairs room for additional seating/private parties. The food is second to none with great pasta, protein and seafood options. Signature cocktail menu and full bar available. Service and staff are always exceptional and the servers are very knowledgeable regarding the menu and ingredients. My wife and I make it a point to eat in here once a month for the consistent quality and service. You should too. Highly recommend.Pictured:Crab stuffed mushroomsSea scallopsScored flounder
An absolutely stunning restaurant (ask to be seated upstairs!) with somewhat decent food. Service was pleasant but made a few errors. Meal didn’t have too much flavor but I would be back for the upstairs dining room alone.Ps. They were out of the grouper by 7:30 pm. Not sure how you can be out of your “top” dish that early on in the evening. So that was pretty disappointing but we made do.
Wonderful food, parents love to eat here when we are in town. Due to an illness we stayed at the hotel so we ordered online and picked our order up to eat in the room. Staff were very kind and friendly. Love the atmosphere!
My wife and I came here on the weekend of our anniversary. For an appetizer we had a special, lamb spring rolls. They were okay, but very gamey when they werent dipped in the sauce. We both ordered veal Parmigiano for our main course, it came with a side of green beans. The veal was flavorless, and the crust was soggy. It eas almost as if it was frozen before being friend and served. The spaghetti was okay, definitely not homemade, and the sauce was a bit too dry. The green beans were the worst part of the meal, there was no seasoning (not even salt and pepper.)The worst part of the entire experience was the feeling of being rushed through our meal. We arrived 15 minutes early for our reservation and we were seated right away. Our waiter constantly circled us like a shark. Our entire meal spanned under 45 minutes. Normally I appreciate quick service, but this was too fast and made me feel unwelcome.Overall, we had an extremely rushed and bland meal. There are better places for the same price point in Savannah.
As amazing the third time as it was the first! Coming from Boston, its hard to impress me when it comes to seafood but these guys have their game tight. The pasta was light and fresh and perfectly seasoned. The scallops were fresh and seared to perfection. The chicken milanese was also on point and the Mac n cheese that came with it is out of this worldRecommend making a reservation far in advance and prepare to enjoy the evening..
We absolutely loved this restaurant and we loved our waiter Justin even more ! He is just so warm, welcoming, attention to every detail, attentional.... he made our experience sensational thanks. We will definitely be back!!! Ask for Justin ! 🙏🌟💫
I have lived in Savannah for over 25 years and this remains one of my top three favorite restaurants. Consistently great service and food, a broad menu with wonderful seasonal specials, and my very favorite for atmosphere. Dont have time for dinner? Stop in and enjoy a glass of wine or a cocktail at the bar and soak up the ambiance.
Very good atmosphere, Chicken Milanese was wonderful❤️ Staff was very friendly!
Atmosphere, customer service (Bobby is a rockstar), food, DRINKS, all 5 star. Excellent restaurant. We will return as often as we can score a reservation. Ask for Bobby - you won’t be disappointed.
The most fantastic, delicious, elegant, well priced dinner we had in Savannah! I will be coming back here every time Im in town!
This was one of the best meals I think I’ve ever had in my life. Everything was amazing from the service to the ambiance and the food! I wish we didn’t live so far away so we could come here more often!!
Matt, one of the managers made our visit terrific. Good food, beautiful location. Great hospitality. Highly recommend.
Absolutely wonderful. Service was superb. Out of the four different drinks we ordered, two appetizers, two entrees, and two desserts- none of which disappointed. The ambiance was perfect. Will definitely visit again.
Great food and service! Lovely restaurant
So loud! If you are looking for a nice quiet romantic dinner- skip this place. There was a wedding upstairs the DJs music and loud party carried downstairs along with very loud diners. The service is the star of the show here! The food was just OK nothing outstanding. We heard several times, “the kitchen is backed up because of the wedding upstairs”Wondering if a place for an upscale dining experience that is quiet and nice exists here in Savannah!
Fantastic. Great service. Great food. Will be back
The Place is Lovely and the Food is Great.
I cannot explain how great the customer service was! It was my husbands birthday and we are with 3 other couples! The attention we received was impeccable! Wish I could give more stars! The food was AMAZING!!!
While the service was great for dinner, the food lacked a bit of creativity and special attention. The lamb sticky ribs had great flavor but were so fatty. The marinara sauce on the fried green tomato Parmesan was nothing special and tasted more out of a can. The stuffed mushrooms were great but came out kind of cold. Now none of this bothered me... what bothered me was that I called 4 different times and spoke with 4 different people to get an itemized receipt for my meal. I provided dates, transaction information and my personal information. Not one of those people got the information I asked for. I spoke with a manager, Chris; one associate told me Hans would call me back when he got in and I left a message for the general mailbox. ALL have ignored their customer and did not look up an itemized receipt. I will not go back due the lack of customer service skills the restaurant as a whole has. If this is the way management treats customers, I feel bad for that staff that works for these managers.
The service was relatively quick, considering the amount of customers at the time of our visit. The veal and calamari were cooked to perfection but the rissoto and crispy duck were a bit dry and overdone. The duck with the sauce though was amazing! All in all it was a great atmosphere and a fun time for us, just a bit of tweaking on the cooking and it would have been perfect!
Highly recommend it. I was here with coworkers and had the Saffron Seafood Pot. It was amazing. Calamari, shrimp, clams, mussels, in a light tomato saffron broth. I ordered a side of crab risotto and the waitress recommended to have it in the soup underneath the seafood. Great suggestion. Waitress was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive.
Came here for my loves birthday and we loved it. He ended up getting one of the specials, which was the stuffed flounder. So so good. I chose the seafood Alfredo. I don’t eat meat, and this Alfredo was so amazing. Also got the calamari for app, which I expected to be as good as it was . Great service, and very spaced out. Our server made sure to keep his mask up at all times.
Phillip was amazing and took our dining experience to a new level. Great food, wonderful atmosphere and the best service. Thanks again Phillip with two ‘L’s’. We will be back to see you next time!
Amazing food and even better service
Excellent appetizer, veal parm was very good although the pasta was starchy and sticky. Salmon was beautifully seasoned and cooked. Dessert ( almond joy chocolate tort and key lime pie) as well as coffee were next level.
HORRIBLE management. I called to see if they could arrange two tables next to each other and I was talked to like no one ever should. I did not expect to be treated like that and wouldn’t want anyone to go to a restaurant like this. Horrible people skills and they obviously do not care about their reputation.
Really good place overall! Love the aesthetics and atmosphere! The food was pretty good just felt it was missing something in each dish but to each his own lol!
My husband and I ate at Garibaldis for my 50th birthday and the food and service exceeded my expectations. Every appetizer, entree and dessert we ordered was delicious, and my husband said that the Veal Piccata, one of his favorite dishes, was the best he has ever eaten. The ambiance of the restaurant was very romantic, and the service was attentive without being overbearing. It was simply perfection!
Great place for dinner! Loved the food and the service was impeccable. The staff seemed to have great working relationships. I observed them all helping each other to deliver a great experience. Loved the experience! Will def. be back!
Great service and great food. Need to change their music to Italian..Godfather theam not contemporary 🍷
The food, the chef, the bar, the kindness & the beauty. A MUST VISIT, Covid Conscious. We were a walk up, to go order & treated as of we were honored guests. Get the Chicken Parm.. yum!
Four of us for dinner at the bar due to a crowded, booked holiday weekend. No worries though, it was perfect for us and our bartender was outstanding. Had the seafood gumbo which was excellent. Ordered the pasta, halibut and Cajun pasta. Our intention before we started our evening was to go Italian and we diverted when we got there. We should not have. The pasta dish was absolutely outstanding. The halibut was good, not great. Wasn’t seered as stated, nor flaky. The Cajun pasta is to be avoided at all costs. The after dinner Manhattans were excellent. This was my second visit to Garibaldis and I still recommend. Pleasurable experience and will stick with the Italian next time. Worth the trip.
Excellent experience all around
Went to Garibaldis during a trip to Savannah to celebrate our sons birthday. Beautiful building, great atmosphere, attentive and professional staff. I had the veal marsala. It was very good, not outstanding, but very good nonetheless. The peach cheesecake for dessert was excellent.
Very good, not mind blowing. Nice atmosphere. Great service.
Decent atmosphere. Pretty small dining area. Service was 5 stars, loved our waiter. Steak was average, probably best to stick with their seafood. Blackened Halibut (market) was phenomenal and the flounder was good as well. Overall, for $40-50 a plate we just left wanting a little more.
Waitress(daphnee) was very friendly at first, but it took over an hour and a half to get our entree, they said it was due to large parties.... our waitress never checked back and was very short with her responses and attitude with us and a few other of her tables as we were given our check. Food was delicious though and we will come back and try it again
Great food in a beautiful setting.Wife had the Crispy Apricot glazed Flounder. Stole a bite. Amazing! I had the carbonara which was quite good. Heart of palm salad was excellent.
Me and my girlfriend came here for a dinner date on 7/17/20. Our server, Arnold, was great from start to finish. What won us over was the food. I dont know who was in the kitchen but everything was very delicious and seasoned to perfection. I had the duck and she had the red snapper (chef special of the evening). It was worth every dollar that was spent on this evening. We definitely will be returning to this establishment!
Seafood and the atmosphere here is great. do yourself a favor and try this place. i will be back with my coworkers. this place has a nice atmosphere. i see why this place has so many great reviews.
I think for a couple night out, it will be great. We had a large group (12 of us). The manager called me the day of our reservation to confirm our party of 12 (2 reservations for 6, sitting us at two 6-person round tables near each other). He was nice, understood that we are a big group arriving together and all seemed well with their willingness to accommodate us. I very much appreciated them accommodating our party, and also putting us side by side so we can at least be close to dine.We arrived right on time, even a little early, for our 6pm reservations. Upon our arrival, 3 other friends of ours who had their own 5:45pm reservation separate from our group of 12, arrived for their reservation... this was not planned, they just arrived a little late for theirs and we arrived a little early for ours. As we checked in the manager seemed displeased when the other party mentioned we were together and basically was like “why are there 15 of you?!”. I explained to disregard that we arrived at the same time and we know each other... they had a separate reservation apart from our 12. He then proceeded to tell me in so many words that we had basically “cheated the system” for making online reservations so close together for such a large group and that they dont accommodate parties this big because its too hard on the kitchen. I mean I do understand that, but we werent asking for our food to all come out together or anything. We just grabbed 3 open reservations on OpenTable (one party of 3, one for 6, and another for 6) all within 15 minutes of each other, and we asked that our tables be close together (which they did accommodate, and I so appreciated that they sat us near each other). It just threw me for a loop when afterwards he said they will make sure they change policies to not book more than 4 people at a time on Opentable moving forward to avoid situations like this. I thought that comment was uncalled for. It made me feel like I did something wrong, and I was very clear with the staff here (through phone calls prior to) that we were a big party. As for the dining experience... the food was great and our waitress was wonderful. But, the other party of 6 didn’t have the same experience. Their coffee was cold, and the waiter offered to microwave it. WHAT?! You should not use the word microwave at a fine dining establishment like this. Their waiter also failed to check if there were nuts in the cheesecake crust for someone in our group who has a severe nut allergy (this person told the waiter from the start he was allergic and specifically asked again when the cheesecake arrived if it was nut free and the waiter told him that it was). Well, it had a pecan (or maybe it was walnut) graham cracker crust, he’s deathly allergic to walnuts and pecans. He took one bite and started having a reaction which prompted a very fast on-foot run to Walgreens across the street for Benadryl hoping it would calm the reaction since the Epi pen was too far away in the car. Thankfully it worked and no further drastic measures needed to be taken, but the most disappointing part.... the manager seemed like he didn’t care when he saw that our friend ended up being ok after guzzling Benadryl... and just said “glad you’re feeling better”, never offering to even comp anything! It totally ruined this person’s evening and he ended up going to bed early to sleep off the Benadryl, missing the chance to hang with the rest of the group. That cheesecake could have killed him and they still charged them for it!! SO DISAPPOINTING!!! **EDIT... the restaurant reached out to my friend after he made a Facebook review of his experience, and ended up reversing the charge for their meal! THE RIGHT THING TO DO! But, still... we are all lucky that situation wasnt worse!!**Even though I found the management here lacking manners and empathy on the night of our reservation, they did at least make the situation right for my friend. I still do not plan on going back here in the future.
Great service, delicious food, great atmosphere!
We had the lasagna and cajun chicken fettuccine, and both were amazing (especially the lasagna). We normally don’t get dessert at restaurants, but decided to give the creme brulee a try. Unfortunately, it tasted like scrambled eggs. Other then that, it was a great ambiance and experience.
Had a delicious anniversary dinner here on Tuesday. The scores flounder, mussels and salad were all perfect. The service was attentive and friendly. We plan to come back next time we’re in town!
Cant remember the year, but probably 90/91. It was the 1st year it snowed in Savannah on Christmas in recorded history. You had three items on the menu that night and one was Turduckin. It was one of the best meals of my life, and I still salivate to this day when I think of, or tell that story.
Garibaldis has been a favorite for many years. However, on my most recent visit, I was left unsatisfied. A few nights ago, I was craving the Shrimp Gang Fettucine so I went in for a quick fix. I prefer the gang with blackened chicken vs. the shrimp and this customization has been accommodated in previous visits. I discussed this preference with my waiter and thought I was clear on my expectations. The meal arrived with shrimp. Thats life I guess. I mentioned my disappointment with a friendly tone and the waiter offered to have the dish remade. Just a short minute or two later he returned with the same dish, declaring chicken had also been included - which was confirmed with a little rummaging around with my fork. Feeling a bit compromised, I did move forward and ate the majority of the pasta moving the shrimp to the side. By the time I really dug in though, the pasta had reached a lukewarm temperature and the experience began to wane. I had also ordered the Jamaican Jerk Mussels as an appetizer which in my opinion were too salty. The mussel meat was meaty and delicious. I would have liked to soak up more of the sauce with the bread but could not manage to choke it down. The spices and heat were perfect. Im not sure, but I think I may have even paid extra for the chicken in the fettucine. I dont recall inspecting the bill... I just wanted to get out of there. Not sure if I plan to go back? I hope this is just a one-off experience but I may look for alternatives in the area when the mood strikes again. I doubt they will miss my absence as I didnt feel very welcome on this last visit. For the price I paid, I dont think expecting to receive the dish I ordered is too much to ask. I left the togo box on the table.
Great food, and the atmosphere, very romantic!
