Weve worked on all of our own beater cars for the last 15yrs. So when this car became to much for us, we had no idea how to find a good mechanic that would be fair and honest. Family recommended you but your many glowing google reviews made our decision. Garys automotive deserves every 5 star rating theyve earned. Everyone was friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and completely professional at all times even though Im sure you were frustrated as well. Thank you for being patient and explaining everything multiple times to multiple people. We knew when we bought this Jeep that the seller didnt maintain it properly. But after fixing and installing so many parts on our own and still having problems, I was tired and frustrated. We didnt expect the car to need so much work but were grateful you put in the time and effort to check and fix every part to get our car running properly and safely. Thank you for being honest, fairly priced, and working as quickly as possible. You guys went above and beyond with your services for us and gave us a break in a time of need and thats so rare and so appreciated. I own a 66 Mustang.After doing my whole front end in my driveway, it went to two garages and two places for allignment to get it straight.None could do it.I was told i needed anything from new upper arms to a spanner bar, to frame machine and even being told it CANT be aligned.After a few hours of work, i got the call.Cars doneAfter 5 months of fighting pulling and diving, Gary got her straight.Finally got to hear her transmission kick in to third gear for the first time in months, since i couldnt go over 40mph without it diving.I cannot say thank you enough for getting me my old girl back on the road.

Gary is wonderful! He is very honest, doesn’t try to sell you on repairs that you don’t absolutely need. I have 3 kids that I’m always driving around so I need to be safe. Also being a single mom I am on a tight budget so being able to get the safety issues repaired at a fair price is very important to me. Other shops have tried to tell me things were wrong with my car that really weren’t because they just wanted to make money off me and think because I am a woman I won’t know the difference. Marie & her daughter Michelle in the office are so nice as well. Overall it was a very great experience and I highly recommend them for all your car repair needs!!

I found a brochure for this service in my mailbox. When I called the indicated phone number, a man answered me. He was very rude and unfriendly. I will not deal with those who do not know how to be polite on the phone!

Garys Auto Repair was amazing. They have such a great staff! I was having a very bad day, I had just lost my job that I had been at for over 5 years and then on top of that my car decided to break down. I didnt know where to go, I have never taken my car to a mechanic other than to have my oil changed or new tires put on. I did not want to be taken advantage of or charged too much, I just lost my job and was going to need to conserve my savings. I called around a few different places and they said it was going to be anywhere from $150-$300 just to test and diagnose what was wrong. I did not have that kind of money. Then I called a friend of mine who recommended Garys auto repair. I called and spoke to a lovely woman Garys wife Marie. She assured me that Gary would text and diagnose my car and give me an estimate for free. She also gave me the name of a cheap towing service so I could get my car there. I finally got there and met Gary and his assistant Shane, they were such nice, caring people. After about 30 minutes Gary had figured out what was wrong and gave me a great estimate, very affordable. Im happy to say I am back in the road again thanks to the wonderful people at Garys auto repair!! I will never go to another mechanic and would recommend him to all my family and friends!

I was in a pinch and called Gary to help me get my spare tire out. It was rusted in the trunk. We tried for over an hour to remove it. Gary mentioned he was really busy but would take a look at it to help me out. I was getting ready to drive out of town. Within 5 minutes he had the tire out!! Kudos Gary thank you so much!

The first time I talked with Gary about my truck, there was water coming from the radiator, (or so I thought) and it was overheating! Made an appointment and came in the next day. He told me about how much a radiator would cost and I said do it. By the end of the day it wasnt the radiator it was the water pump! He replaced it, and the truck hasnt overheated since (or leaked). Im writing this review because Gary could have said or charged anything, broken radiator, hoses, belts, water pump, etc. I dont know very much about cars, but I do know people! If you need an honest, dependable and reliable mechanic, go see Garys Auto Repair Service, He really knows what he is doing! Once again, Gary got the truck running better than it ever has since i owned it! No more check engine light! That thing had been on since I got the truck!! Thank you Gary, awesome JOB!!

I cant say enough good things about Garys Auto Repair.Gary has been instrumental in keeping my commercial vehicles running.His quick service and fair prices have made it so I can grow my business from working by myself out of my Gary maintained car to running two (hopefully three in the near future) Gary maintained grooming vans.I could not have done it without such a great mechanic.

I had some dash lights come on - engine light, etc. I changed the gas cap and eventually the lights went away for a few days but came back on. Garys shop had a coupon to check the computer for dash lights for free and even though I live in Venice, I made an appointment. My dealer was going to charge me $60.Well, I found a great new mechanic for my 2004 Rav4. He was so honest, didnt charge me anything but reset the computer and told me that there were just a few very small leaks in the Vac system but not to worry about it unless the lights come back on and then there are a couple of other things he can check. I have had such bad experiences with mechanics when they know a woman is coming and just see dollar signs. I have even had two different ones mess up something on the car so that I would bring it back. I know this because I had another mechanic to check it and he said things were loosened. I know I can trust Gary because he is not just looking to gouge you but to make a customer for life and he has over 30 yrs experience!. I highly recommend him... his wife, Marie, is also great. You wont regret going here.

I came in and talked with a mechanic. I was told hed check it out FREE of charge. If there was a charge he was supposed to call me and ask before he did anything. I also purchased my own ATF fluid to be put in my truck. He used his and not mine. Told me to take it back. It cost me over $330 to change out a filter ($20), atf fluid ($60), and Im guessing labor was $250. From free to $330. RIP OFF!!! I ended up going else where and was told that I wouldnt be charged to diagnose the problem. Also, Garys auto told me it would cost $3500+ for a rebuilt transmission, where I can get a brand new transmission with labor and programming the computer for under $3,000. Total RIP off and false promises. Never going back there nor will I ever recommend them to anyone. Also, being rude to customers is unprofessional. You keep your word and have great customer service.

Honest, dependable mechanic. Wonderful office staff. Wouldnt take my vehicles anywhere else.

My friend took his Mustang here for rear brakes. After Gary did the rear brakes he said the master cylinder was bad too because the car wasnt stopping the way he likes. When my friend picked up the car he drove it for a day and it was making noises. Gary gave him a hard time about bringing it back. Then after a week Gary took the car back and looked at the rear brakes to find that they were installed improperly. They also never turnd the rear drums and use the old springs and hardware. After Gary put the drums back on for the second time he never even adjusted them and the emergency brake does not work properly. Take my advice stay away.

I was so upset my A/C Unit quit blowing air in my 2007 Lexus. I took it to Garys and he had it in his shop the next day! I was afraid I was going to have to buy a new compressor, but thankfully Gary found the problem with little cost!!! This establishment you can TRUST!!!!! Thanks Gary!!!!

Pushed my car over 100 miles with speeds at times going 20mph on I-75 going on vacation to Sarasota and I thought I my car was DOA. I took it to Larry so he could undoubtably give the car its last rites for I pushed the car with a completely clogged catalytic convertor. had no hope with this car that I was looking for a new car. Saw he has 32 yrs experience so no one better to tell me the obvious. he put some chemical in the engine which made it spew out black smoke clearing out the carbon that built up then later told me the engine has been cleared up and that the car is operable. drove it back home to Kissimmee and the car feels powerful and the oil is cleaner than it has ever been. when I go to Sarasota again next year, I will have him check out my car for I trust his knowledge. most thorough mechanic Ive come across and I have some knowledge myelf as a DIY mechanic. also his wife is such a gracious person who makes you feel at ease. Garys the man!!!
