Poor customer service. Paid for 2 maintiance services. He is Never in office to verify and scheduled our 2nd one. Did new install and when the elevation certificate was performed the ac pad was found to be out of code. When shown the report His answer was well it passed inspection so not my problem.
Back around 2016 I used this company when it was under different management, and it was wonderful then. Now its dreadful, and I would never recommend it. Even giving one star is too much!I was sent a tech who advised me to change an AC part. The owner then came out to give me his opinion and he told me that it wasnt necessary to change that part. When I commented that his tech was very anxious to sell me something I didnt need he got all upset for me criticizing his tech even though he, the owner, contradicted the techs assessment! Seriously? Awful business practices. Also, this company will not call you to remind you of your 6 months maintenance after you spend $130 for a bi-annual checkup. I was 6 months late for my maintenance checkup (This was during covid, a very unusual and fraught year; you would think that a company would take that under consideration?), and the owner would not do the maintenance claiming, in other words, too bad so sad, because my year had expired and it was up to me to contact them. First he called to tell me he would send me a check for the missed maintenance, and then he called back and told me he had changed his mind and would not!! Who does this??Other reputable companies will call you to remind you of your service maintenance that is due. This company wont bother, because they insist its your responsibility, even in a year like no other that weve experienced as a nation. Then when you forget, because you have other things on your mind like staying healthy, they will write you off.The president of this company, Peter Tenn, claims that the policy of Hometown air is 100% customer satisfaction. Ha! Atrocious customer service, steer clear.I switched to Veteran Air and recommend them wholeheartedly. They have no problem giving excellent customer service, and will be in touch without fail when your maintenance is due. Definitely a no-brainer.
Im writing this review without any connection to the company or any incentive. I was not asked to write a review, and it was not expected of me. Having said that, Id have been happy to write this review if they did ask because this company is EXACTLY what I want: honest, highly skilled, priced fairly, and unbelievably responsive. Having your AC go out on a Sunday evening at the end of Independence Day weekend (!!!), you dont expect to get someone to your home that evening. If youre like me, youre just looking for someone who knows what theyre doing and can show up on Monday morning. Well, I didnt have to wait until Monday. My AC had a tricky problem, but it still got fixed that night by their Master Tech, Tim. He was polite, patient, and took time to explain every part of the process. AND, the owner of the business himself (Gary) called both before and after the repair to make sure all the communication was thorough and that I was satisfied with the work. If youre reading this, youre probably trying to choose who to hire. I can tell you youre safe to go with Hometown. I wish Id found these guys years ago because theyre the kind of company thats so good you dont have to worry about who to call for this kind of service anymore.
I had a duct that needed reconnected and they sent me an estimate for over a $1,000. It took three phone calls to get them to send me the estimate. I called another company to come out for an estimate and he fixed it for free. He said it only took him 20 minutes and he did not feel comfortable charging for such a quick fix. This company is slow to respond and a rip-off.
Ismael was the tech and was exceptionally professional and did the repairs of my AC unit.He did not promote products like others I have encountered. I would highly recommend this company and especially this tech.

Our AC quit cooling the house on a rainy Friday afternoon. I called Hometown Air’s number from their website and the owner, Gary Santoro, answered himself and said he would be there within an hour or two and he was. Standing In the rain he was able to diagnose and repair our OVER 21 YEAR OLD AC. He was professional, knowledgeable and completely honest, taking the time to explain my system to me and replacing only what needed to be replaced with AMERICAN made components. Then he made sure everything was working as it should before he left. Not once did he ever try to upsell me or push a new system on me, even though I know myself it’s just a matter of time. Again, Friday night, in the rain, answered his cell phone the first time I called and fixed our AC in one visit. You could research other AC companies but you’d be wasting your time.
My AC went out in the middle of the night and I have 2 little ones, one very sick. I called multiple places but didn’t get calls back! But I did hear back from home town AC rather promptly via text and he was able to help me via text and I actually had the AC up and running with 10 min! I liked communicating via text because it stayed quiet while my baby slept nearby. He was a lifesaver and super helpful!
I had a full AC replacement and The owner, Gary, came out personally and tried to repair my 12 year old system. Unfortunately it was beyond repair and he came out again first thing the next morning and had the system replaced the same day! His crew did an excellent job and the city inspector even commented about what a nice job they did. Great price, great service, and super nice, respectful crew. Highly recommend! Thank you Hometown!

We had a full AC System replacement done by the team at Hometown A/C and we were extremely happy with the job done. Pete and his crew worked hard and the attention to detail and workmanship was Top Notch. They completely replaced 2 AC Units including the Air Handling Units, Ducting including the fabrication of the base stand in 10 hours! The pricing was excellent and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a good price and a top notch professional job. Pete also recommended a local electrician for some other work needed and once again a top notch professional made us very happy indeed. Great work by Pete and his team!
Hometown AC installed a new Comfort Maker 15 Seer AC in my condo on 02/07/2014. I dealt exclusively with the owner, Peter. Not only was he eager to get my business, but the proposal included great service and a great price!I had contacted 7 other AC vendors in the area, so I had plenty of options but preferred Hometowns proposal.Overall, it was a very professional experience.

I was referred to Hometown Air by a friend who told me to cancel my appointment with Unique Air. I am so happy that I did. The techs got here just an hour after I called. They found the problem with my 11 year old unit right away and fixed it within the hour. I knew that this company was honest and did not try to charge me for unnecessary work. Very professional and ethical. I am very happy with their work and would highly recommend this company.

We found their service to be prompt, the technicians courteous, and the price competitive.Hometown Air exceeded our expectations and we have since had them replace the AC units in 2 investment properties.We will continue to call Hometown for our air conditioning needs.
I didnt want to have to do this but anyone considering this company should know what to expect when speaking with individuals running this company. I had an issue with my exterior unit and called home town because I had used them once before. After speaking with Pete, it was agreed I would receive a discount given from the website and tech would be dispatched to the house. The tech I spoke with was nice and professional with no issues. Later in the day, Pete calls me back with no concrete conclusion of the problem. He was very concerned with being paid his $85 for the service call rather then worrying about getting me a quote on the part that may need to changed. Out of nowhere, I was told YOU KNOW YOU ARE THE BIGGEST PAIN IN THE ASS IVE EVER DEALT WITH! REALLY YOU ARE THE BIGGEST PAIN IN THE ASS AND SUCH A CHEAP PERSON!. I was so confused by the anger and frustration of this individual and how a business owner would treat his customer. Inexcusably unprofessional and very rude. Derogatory remarks were made about me being from New York as well which offended me and were completely uncalled for. I caution anyone who considers them for work... Unbelieveable
I called Hometown Air Conditioning at 5:45 during rush hour. I had never used this company before, but they came right away. They said it would take 1 1/2 hours to travel to my home. They were there in less than 45 minutes, did an excellent and efficient job. Cameron was courteous and knowledgeable. The owner, Pete Tenn arrived to propose the replacement and was extremely professional, personable, informative and knowledgeable as to our homes needs. His pricing was very competitive. Installers Cameron & CJ maintained Petes company ethic mentioned above while replacing the units and maintained an extremely clean, quiet and proper work environment in our home. Their professionalism and attention to detail was second to none. The new 15 seer Rheem units have reduced my energy costs substantially. So pleased, I now use Hometown A/C at my business and recommend them continually.
I have used this company and worked with the owner for over twenty years. I use them for all my home and comercial work. Their pricing is fair to excellent and they are very knowledgeable in all aspects of the air conditioning business.On several occasions they have repaired when others tried to sell me a complete new unit. More than once they found mistakes both obvious and ones that only an experienced company with years of experience would recognize.Most of all I would (and have) trust them with the keys to my house and apartments.Remember, when you hire another company there is a chance you are hiring someone who was trained by this company.I have been pleased with their work and will continue to use them.
